Arrested for recording bank from public, which is 100% legal.

 

It sure does seem like cops think they serve the banks and businesses rather than the people. I keep seeing this, an auditor records a bank or business from a public sidewalk, the bank thinks that's illegal and calls the cops, the cops come and insist they ID you even though there is absolutely no RAS of criminal activity or obligation to ID under the law, and then unlawfully arrest them when they refuse.

 

What good are laws when those the people pay to enforce the laws and uphold our rights decide the banks feelings and money are more important?

 

Why is freedom of press so hard for cops to understand? Freedom of press includes both the collection of, and dissemination of, information of public interest to the public via a medium, such as print or video. While many don't like auditing, it's constitutionally protected and absolutely needed, and as evidenced by the movements popularity and growth, it's of great public interest.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s expected Senate confirmation on Thursday to lead the nation’s health agencies threatens upheaval for America’s $4 trillion health care industry.

 

The industry is doing little and hoping for the best.

 

From drugmakers to doctors’ organizations, groups thought to have the clout to steer policy and funding in Washington because they enjoyed bipartisan support and huge lobbying budgets have remained silent about Kennedy.

 

They haven’t spoken up even though he has accused them of fraud and conspiracy, and promised to hold them accountable.

 

That’s not because they aren’t worried, but because they didn’t think they could stop him— or think the cost of speaking out would be too steep, five people representing health groups, granted anonymity to speak candidly, said.

 

By staying mum, they hope to limit the fallout if Kennedy follows through on his plans to strip the industry to the studs.

 

“They think he’s the wrong person for the job,” said Dr. Georges Benjamin, executive director of the American Public Health Association, one of the few groups to openly decry Kennedy’s bid to lead the Department of Health and Human Services. “With good respect to all my buddies, they’re making the false assumption that if they stay silent, they will get something in return.”

 

The health care industry’s muted response to Kennedy is also a reflection of how much President Donald Trump has sacrificed traditional GOP constituencies to raise a populist, working-class revolt on the interests that once held sway in the capital— and how much Republicans in Congress have gone along.

 

Kennedy has suggested that hospitals, doctors and drugmakers work together to keep Americans sick, argued that industry influence needs to be ripped away from federal policymaking, insinuated that health institutions intentionally bury inconvenient evidence and proposed lopping off entire parts of the health regulatory structure.

 

And yet, the country’s most prominent professional society for doctors, the American Medical Association, has not taken a stance on Kennedy’s nomination.

 

Likewise, thePharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, the brand-name drug lobby once seen as all-powerful in Washington, has only said it wants to work with Trump and his team.

 

Even the American Academy of Pediatrics, whose members provide the childhood vaccines Kennedy has claimed, in defiance of scientific consensus, cause autism, isn’t opposing him. The group launched a campaign to promote vaccination that coincided with Kennedy’s confirmation hearings, but it did not call for the Senate to reject him…..

Iranian Lawmakers Demand Nuke to Stop Trump

 

Ahmad Bakhshayesh Ardestani, a member of the National Security Committee in the Iranian parliament, said on Wednesday that some of his fellow lawmakers are urging the Iranian regime to rapidly develop nuclear weapons to halt President Donald Trump’s agenda for the Middle East.

 

“A few months before Donald Trump won the U.S. presidential election, several experts said that Iran needed to build a nuclear bomb,” Ardestani told an Iranian news website.

 

“In this context, several members of the Majles wrote to the Supreme National Security Council, and also a number of clergy and government members appealed to the supreme leader to cancel the fatwa banning the creation of nuclear weapons,” he continued.

 

“I partly share the opinion of these people,” he said.

The Majles is Iran’s name for its parliament, also known as the Islamic Consultative Assembly or ICA.

 

The fatwa or religious edict Ardestani referred to is an absurd fiction created by the Iranians to pretend their frantic enrichment of uranium to near weapons-grade levels could not possibly be for nuclear weapons production, because Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei supposedly determined that building nuclear bombs would violate Islamic law.

 

According to Ardestani, Iranian lawmakers are suddenly interested in canceling its religious edict against nukes because they recalled former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo saying President Donald Trump showed respect to North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un because Kim had nuclear weapons.

 

Ayatollah Khamenei said on Wednesday that his regime showed the world it is here to stay when it celebrated the 46th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

 

“This was a message of unity from the Iranian people. Despite the constant, idiotic threats against us, the people of Iran showed the world their identity, their strength, and their unwavering resolve,” the aging Supreme Leader declared.

 

Khamenei claimed both the revolution, and the celebration held to commemorate it, represented a “popular uprising” and “grand national movement.”

 

“Despite ongoing media bombardments, psychological warfare, and unfounded threats from adversaries against the historic development, the Iranian people stood strong in their commitment to the values of the Revolution with their indication of strong support for the event during this year’s marches and jubilations,” he said.

 

Khamenei addressed military officials and the families of “martyred” Iranian soldiers on Wednesday, and also visited an exhibition of new military technology.

 

“The issue of defending the nation, defending security, is not a small matter. Today, Iran’s defensive power is renowned and well-known. Iran’s friends take pride in this defensive power, and Iran’s enemies fear it. This is very important for a nation, for a country,” he said.

 

In truth, many observers have wondered if the stability of Khamenei’s regime might be in danger after most of Iran’s terrorist proxies across the Middle East were crushed in the Gaza war with Israel.

 

Tehran invested a great deal of money and time in building up the proxy forces that were shredded by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and the Iranian public — which, contrary to Khamenei’s boasts, has been restless for quite some time — might not be happy about the money splurged on those ruined investments.

 

The Iranian economy is collapsing, with 45 percent inflation and a nearly 50 percent poverty rate. After years of railing against foreign governments and corporations, Khamenei’s regime is lifting import bans to mollify its angry subjects by letting them purchase desirable products — which they unfortunately cannot afford, because the Iranian currency has fallen to 928,000 rials against the dollar. Rent and real-estate prices have increased by thousands of percent each over the past decade.

 

Tougher economic pressure from President Donald Trump is bound to weaken Iran even further. Oil furnishes 40 percent of the revenue for the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Trump has threatened to cut off Iran’s oil sales if the regime does not abandon its pursuit of nuclear weapons.

 

“Iran’s economy is battered. It faces dire energy shortages, owing mainly to its own mismanagement and corruption, but also due to sanctions,” Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies senior fellow Afshin Molavi told Newsweek on Tuesday.

 

As for Iran’s defensive capabilities, Khamenei’s fairy tales cannot obscure the shocking embarrassment of Iran’s weapons failing completely against Israel during two missile strikes and the Israeli response. Iran’s reputation as a regional military power suffered enormously from these failures.

The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan, claims the documentary “shamelessly advances conspiracy theories” about Combs, including making strong insinuations that the rapper murdered a longtime girlfriend, Kim Porter, as well as some of his associates.

 

“The documentary advances the false narrative that it cannot be a ‘coincidence’ that Ms. Porter and others in Mr. Combs’s orbit have died, in a malicious attempt to insinuate that Mr. Combs murdered them,” the suit states.

 

Making of a Bad Boy, which debuted on Peacock in January, offers a dark and lurid account of Combs’ rise to fame, with multiple talking-head interviewees opining on the rap mogul’s personal life.

 

The suit also disputes the documentary’s passages featuring an interview subject named Courtney Burgess, who claims to possess video showing Combs sexually assaulting people who, he said, appeared to be minors.

 

Combs is seeking $100 million in damages. NBCUniversal has yet to comment on the suit.

 

In addition to his forthcoming criminal trial, Combs is facing dozens of civil suits, including allegations of sexual abuse and assault from women and men.

 

Combs has denied the allegations.

• South Fulton City Council member Helen Willis is sponsoring legislation that would ban all animals from city buildings.

• The move would prohibit all animals, including Mayor Khalid Kamau's dog, Zion, from entering City Hall and other buildings.

• Mayor Kamau says his dog is a service dog and would be exempt from the legislation.

• The mayor got the purebred Shiba Inu three years ago when he was running for mayor.

SOUTH FULTON, Ga. - Meet South Fulton First Dog "Zion." This purebred Shiba Inu not only has a monthly party, he has his own website and Instagram page, too. South Fulton Mayor Khalid Kamau tells FOX 5 that Zion is a service dog who's almost always by his side. He appears friendly and pleasant, but not everyone has warmed up to him.

"Not everyone likes dogs!" Council member Helen Zenobia Willis (Dist. 3) exclaimed.

Willis says she is a dog lover, but has recently become allergic to them. She says she does not want to see the furry four-legged creatures inside places like City Hall. Willis has sponsored legislation banning animals from all city buildings, exempting civil service dogs.

 

"This has nothing to do with him running for mayor," said Willis. "We have tried to work with him. We have asked him to not bring the dog around certain settings." Willis says there have been complaints from city employees about the Mayor's happy-go-lucky dog, but she says the mayor continues to bring the dog to city events.

Just Monday, FOX 5 Atlanta crews witnessed Zion, off his leash, enjoying City Hall.

Mayor Khalid Kamau's dog, Zion. "Several other employees have expressed that they are fearful of this dog," Willis added. "The only way we can control anything that he does is to put policy in place." She claims she is simply protecting the city. "This city can not take on liability to play games with him. This dog has violated people," Willis concluded.

 

The other side: The mayor contends Willis is playing politics. "The same council woman who called to investigate my travel receipts, she tried to take my car," Mayor Kamau said. "So at this meeting, she's trying to take my staff and trying to take my dog."

NATO boss issues warning to Putin

Mark Rutte has said the US-led military bloc would crush Russia if the country attacks member states

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte warned Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday thatthe US-led military blocwould deal a crushing blow to Moscow if it attacks any of its member states. (Stupid statement because Putin has never wanted a war with Europe or NATO.The best thing that could happen to stop this, Trump should invite Russia into NATO, this whole plan to steal all of Russia’s wealth will be over.)

 

In recent years, senior officials from European NATO member states, includingRutte, have alleged that Russia is harboring aggressive plans toward the military bloc. Putin has repeatedly dismissed this speculation, calling it “nonsense” and a ruse to justify increased military spending.

 

Answering reporters’ questions at a press conference in Brussels on Wednesday, Rutte said, “At the moment, if Putin would attack NATO, the reaction will be devastating. He will lose. So, let him not try it, and he knows this. The deterrence and defense is very strong.”However, NATO needs to spend more on defenseto be able to defend itself four or five years from now, he added.

 

Rutte urged member states to make “some difficult decisions this year about… defense spending, doing much, much more than the 2% we pledged.” He went on to say that while the West has “fantastic” arms manufacturers, “they are not producing enough,” which needs to be urgently addressed.

 

The question regarding supposed Russian aggression was prompted by a report issued by Denmark’s Defense Intelligence Service on Tuesday.

 

According to the document, within five years of ending or freezing the Ukraine conflict, Moscow would be ready to conduct a large-scale onslaught on Europe, based on the assumption that NATO’s defense spending remains at the current level.

 

“Russia is likely to be more willing to use military force … if it perceives NATO as militarily weakened or politically divided,” the intelligence agency claimed, adding that “this is particularly true if Russia assesses that the US cannot or will not support the European NATO countries in a war.”

 

Last month, Rutte similarly urged NATO member states to “shift to a wartime mindset” to “prevent war.”

 

Those who refuse to spend more on defense might as well “get out your Russian language courses or go to New Zealand,” the NATO secretary-general warned at the time.

 

In December, Rutte suggested that European member states should redirect some of the funds they currently spend on welfare toward their militaries.

 

On Tuesday, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) claimed that theUkrainian special services, with Western support, were preparing a false-flag provocation in the Baltic Sea involving Russian-made naval mines, in the hope of dragging NATO into a direct military confrontation with Moscow.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has ways of implanting false information into U.S. discourse to the point that it becomes mainstream, the FBI has recently reported.

 

The FBI refers to this phenomenon as “information laundering.”

 

It mainly refers to spreading false information online to the point at which “it’s then adopted by more mainstream sites in an attempt to legitimize it,” a spokesperson from the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office told The Epoch Times.

 

“This is a generalized description of what we’ve seen at the FBI,” the spokesperson said.

 

Information laundering is a textbook component of disinformation, the term used by the communist regime in Soviet Russia, according to Ronald Rychlak, a law professor at the University of Mississippi and expert on Soviet disinformation.

 

“A key component of disinformation is it has to come from a reliable source,” he told The Epoch Times. “It’s not legitimate if it comes from the Chinese communist government. It was not legitimate if it came from the Soviet newspaper during the height of the Soviet Union.

 

“It has to be placed in a news outlet, with a source, with a person who people accept as being legitimate.”

 

A real disinformation operation requires a gradual process, he said.

 

“You can’t just go to The New York Times, The Washington Post, or The Epoch Times or whatever, and say: ‘Here’s a story. Publish it.’ You have to have it come from multiple sources,” he said.

 

The Soviets often introduced false information through industry newsletters, local magazines, and newspapers in the United States that were always hungry for content.

 

“You get this going to six or seven different news outlets. Pretty soon, a reliable source or a reliable person reads it in three different places and repeats it,” Rychlak said.

“Those first stories would not rise to the level of what the Soviet intelligence bureau would consider disinformation because they weren’t really trustworthy or reliable. They were laying the groundwork to get to the level where people would accept it to be reliable.”

 

Another step is to gradually influence reporters at major news media outlets to predispose them to pick up the false narrative.

 

“The reporter may very well think that he or she is just being a good reporter, investigating leads, looking into things, not being aware that someone is laying breadcrumbs down, trying to lead you in a particular direction,” Rychlak said.

 

“They don’t want the American reporter, the Western reporter, to cooperate with them. They want them to believe in their heart that they are being a good journalist doing the right thing and reporting accurately.

Donald Trump says the American public doesn't have a right to see his tax returns – but his Personal Financial Disclosures don’t really tell us anything about Trump or how much he is actually worth. But it’s not only that Donald Trump doesn’t want to prove to us his wealth or his tax rate; Trump has been involved in more than 100 lawsuits and he’s profited off of Chinese and Mexican labor – which begs the question, what else does Donald Trump have to hide?

The American people ought to know whether Trump has been paying his fair share and how much he would benefit from his own reckless tax plan. If Trump has nothing to hide, he should release his tax returns immediately.

When NBC’s Katy Tur asked a Trump campaign source about the apparent hypocrisy, the source responded, “Trump’s not running for vice president.”

That’s cute, I suppose, but it only reinforces the absurdity of the candidate’s posture. The idea that disclosure and transparency requirements should be tougher for a vice presidential candidate than a presidential candidate is tough to defend.

Making matters worse, with each passing day, new questions arise about Trump’s finances. USA Today reported this morning that a fresh analysis found Trump’s businesses “have been involved in at least 100 lawsuits and other disputes related to unpaid taxes or how much tax his businesses owe.”

It makes it that much more difficult for the candidate and his team to suggest his tax documents are a meaningless distraction.
