US Defense Secretary Hegseth said active-duty troops will be mobilised if violence continues in Los Angeles, while President Trump deployed the National Guard to LA immigration ‘riots’ after claiming state officials cannot do their jobs, according to Sky News. Furthermore, reports noted that as many as 500 Marines are “in a prepared-to-deploy status” should they be needed to protect federal property and personnel and US President Trump posted on Truth Social "Looking really bad in L.A. China’s trade numbers for May fall a bit short, including exports +4.8% (vs. the Street +6%) and imports -3.4% (vs. the Street -0.8%), w/exports to the US slumping by the most since the start of COVID. FT

 

China's producer deflation deepened to its worst level in almost two years in May while consumer prices extended declines, as the economy grappled with trade tensions and a prolonged housing downturn. Immigrant rights groups Friday launched a rapid response network and hotline to report and document U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity in the Greater Los Angeles region.

LARRN organized a national immigrant assistance hotline, which can be reached at 888-624-4752, where people can report immigration enforcement operations and request referrals for local, regional or national legal immigration and othersupport services.

 

Following a report of ICE enforcement, members of LARRN will send out volunteers and staff to investigate and verify the report’s accuracy.

 

Each group, or cell, is made up of attorneys, legal observers, educators, organizers and documentarians trained to verify reports and mobilize support efforts for those impacted by ICE operations.

 

“ICE has not waited a single moment to begin separating hundreds of families and causing fear and concern in various communities throughout the U.S.,” Pedro Trujillo, organizing director for CHIRLA, said in a statement.

 

“In Greater Los Angeles, we are coming together through the LARRN to ensure Angelenos know there are resources available to them,” he said.

 

Laura Urias, program director at Immigrant Defenders Law Center, emphasized that Los Angeles would not be the city that it is without its immigrant community.

 

“We stand united with all Angelenos facing an anti-immigrant administration that is determined to punish the most vulnerable people in our city for political gain,” Urias said.

 

LARRN was established in 2006, formerly known as the Raids Rapid Response Network, as a response to mass raids in factories.

 

The network connects immigrants caught in enforcement operations with pro bono and low-cost attorneys, and works to shut down private, unaccountable immigration jails and bolster rights education throughout the county, according to CHIRLA’s website.

In 2021 we were able to launch the BAILA network because of generous funding provided by the California Community Foundation, the California Endowment and the Weingart Foundation.

Russia and Ukraine conduct prisoner swap of under 25s

The Defense Ministry in Moscow did not disclose the exact number of POWs involved

 

Russia and Ukraine have conducted another prisoner exchange, swapping soldiers who are under 25 years of age, Russia’s Defense Ministry announced on Monday.

 

In a statement on it’s official Telegram channel, the Defense Ministryreported that the first group of servicemen have been returned from territories controlled by Kiev.

 

”In exchange, a similar number of prisoners of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were transferred,” the ministry said.

 

The Russian servicemen are currently receiving necessary psychological and medical assistance in Belarus, according to the ministry, and will soon be returned home for treatment and rehabilitation

Pew seemingly had to poll Nigeria and Kenya just to make the poll seem not completely one-sided.

 

From Pew Research, "Most people across 24 surveyed countries have negative views of Israel and Netanyahu":

International views of Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are much more negative than positive, according to a Pew Research Center survey of 24 countries conducted this spring.

The fourth-floor office of California Endowment CEO Robert K. Ross offers an Instagram-worthy view of Union Station, Olvera Street, City Hall and Chinatown. But I found a far more interesting landscape Friday inside his corner suite.

 

Moving boxes. Paintings and photos bundled up in bubble wrap. Handwritten notes on file cabinets with instructions to staffers on what to keep and what to toss. Awards — dozens of them.

 

“In a week, man, this will all be gone, brother,” Ross said with a laugh as we sat at a small table, the one place not too cluttered with 24 years of memories. “The county and city proclamations and certificates of appreciation — I mean, I don’t want to sound ungrateful, but where am I going to put them? These things are huge. They take a lot of space, you know, and I don’t want a study that’s like a monument to s— I did, right?”

 

Ross, 69, a pediatrician by training, is retiring next week after nearly a quarter-century heading one of the most important philanthropic forces in California. Its financials are huge enough — it sits on $4.3 billion in assets and gave $381 million last year to more than 700 groups in the name of combating the state’s health inequities. But Ross’ legacy rests on how he helped to transform charitable giving during his tenure.

Blast rocks largest US air base in Asia-Pacific – media

At least four people were injured at the Kadena facility in Okinawa, Japan, on Monday

 

An explosion has rocked a storage depot at a US air base on the Japanese island of Okinawa, injuring at least four people, according to local media and defense sources.

 

The blast at Kadena Air Base occurred around 11:20am local time on Monday, injuring at least four members of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces (SDF), according to military sources cited by NHK and Jiji Press. None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

 

The affected facility is reportedly used to house unexploded wartime munitions. It is operated by the SDF’s unexploded ordnance disposal team and is located within the US military’s largest air base in the Asia-Pacific region.

 

Local authorities and emergency services responded to the incident in Yomitan Village. Kadena Air Base has yet to issue a formal statement, as both Japanese and US military officials continue to assess the extent of the damage.

 

Kadena Air Base, located in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, is the largest and most strategically significant US Air Force installation in the Asia-Pacific region. Often referred to as the “Keystone of the Pacific,” the base spans more than 2,000 hectares and houses approximately 20,000 personnel.It serves as the headquarters of the US Air Force’s 18th Wing, the largest combat wing in the service.

When former President Trump says he would conduct mass deportations of millions of people if elected again, some of his advisers talk about deploying the states’ National Guard to help carry out the task, even in states that oppose this extreme immigration policy.

 

But would he have the legal authority to do that? The answer is yes,it is legally possible under the Insurrection Act, an outdated law that is in urgent need of reform to prevent abuses of power and adapt to modern times.

 

The Insurrection Act is among the most powerful emergency powers at the disposal of a president, who can use it to deploy the U.S. armed forces and the militia to suppress insurrections, quell civil unrest or domestic violence, and enforce the law when it is being obstructed.

 

There are few constraints to this presidential power — neither Congress nor the courts play a role in deciding what constitutes an obstruction or rebellion — and the law does not limit what actions military forces may take once deployed.

 

The law, which was last amended in the 1870s, has been rarely invoked. But it has been both used and misused in the past. Past uses include enforcing civil rights laws, helping companies break strikes, and suppressing so-called “race riots.”

 

Currently, there are calls for President Biden to invoke it to gain control of the Texas National Guard and order it to stand down in the city ofEagle Pass, where National Guard soldiers have occupied a park along the southern border to militarize the border and deny federal border protection agents access.

Stalin, stating concern for ethnic Ukrainians and Belarusians in Poland, ordered the Soviet invasion of Poland. Of all the other territories annexed by the Soviet Union in 1939–1940, those detached from Finland (Western Karelia, Hanko) Estonia (Estonian Ingria and Petseri County) and Latvia (Abrene) remain part of Russia, the successor state to the Russian SFSR and the Soviet Union after the collapse of the USSR in 1991.

The territories annexed from Romania were also integrated into the Soviet Union (such as the Moldavian SSR, or oblasts of the Ukrainian SSR). The core of Bessarabia now forms Moldova.

Northern Bessarabia, Northern Bukovina and the Hertsa region now form the Chernivtsi Oblast of Ukraine. Southern Bessarabia is part of the Odessa Oblast, which is also now in Ukraine.

 

The pact was terminated on 22 June 1941, when Germany launched Operation Barbarossa and invaded the Soviet Union, in pursuit of the ideological goal of Lebensraum.[12]

Both the Russian and Polish official investigations found no technical faults with the aircraft, and concluded that the crew failed to conduct the approach in a safe manner in the given weather conditions. The Polish authorities found serious deficiencies in the organization and training of the Air Force unit involved, which was subsequently disbanded. Several high-ranking members of the Polish military resigned following pressure from politicians and the media.

 

Various conspiracy theories have been circulated alleging that the plane had been deliberately brought down by the Russians in an act of political assassination, and that the 2011 investigations constituted a cover-up and that the Polish government of the time — primarily controlled by the Civic Platform party as opposed to Lech Kaczyński's Law and Justice party — was complicit in or aware of the plot, or at least aided in the efforts to cover it up.[3]

These conspiracy theories are regularly promoted by Law and Justice, particularly by party leader Jarosław Kaczyński (twin brother of Lech Kaczyński) and deputy party leader Antoni Macierewicz.[4][5][6][7]

Following Law and Justice's return to government, a new investigation was opened into the disaster, chaired by Macierewicz; its 2022 conclusion alleged a Russian plot.[8][9]

Cabinet officials and senior staffers across the Trump administration are reclaiming power from Elon Musk’s U.S. DOGE Service, a trend that began long before the billionaire’s relationship with President Donald Trump exploded in public acrimony days after Musk formally left his White House post.

 

As Musk departed, some of his top lieutenants were streaming out of government. Among those heading for the exits even before Musk and Trump began feuding, according to a White House official speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive information: longtime aide Steve Davis, who was overseeing cost-cutting efforts; lawyer James Burnham, DOGE’s general counsel; and DOGE adviser Katie Miller, who is married to White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller.

 

Katie Miller is reportedly taking a job with Musk. Meanwhile, Cabinet officials — some of whom had clashed with Musk — are moving to rehire workers who had been pushed out by DOGE.

 

And while the group retains some clout, with DOGE staffers moving into permanent jobs in some agencies, unaffiliated political appointees in other departments have been forcing the cost-cutting group to back off.

 

Despite the exodus, White House officials said the administration remains dedicated to rooting out waste and abuse.

 

The administration has asked Congress to cancel more than $9 billion in spending for global health aid and for public broadcasting in the United States, an early gauge of lawmakers’ appetite for codifying DOGE’s cuts.

 

And the White House budget office has proposed cutting $163 billion — nearly 25 percent — from agency budgets in the fiscal year that begins in October.

 

“DOGE is in the DNA of the federal government, and the president is committed to seeing this mission through,” said White House spokesman Harrison Fields.

 

“No one is under the impression that DOGE is somehow going to disappear.” White House budget director Russell Vought is expected to pick up where Musk left off in cutting federal spending, according to two people with knowledge of the matter, speaking on the condition of anonymity for fear of retribution.

 

An architect of Project 2025, a policy blueprint put together between Trump’s terms, Vought told a House hearing Wednesday that the Trump administration is eager to send more requests to eliminate previously appropriated funds as DOGE shifts from a consulting role to a position “far more institutionalized” at OMB.

 

Still, by DOGE’s somewhat haphazard accounting, the initiative has saved only about $180 billion, a fraction of the $2 trillion Musk initially vowed to cut. That performance — along with a general recognition that DOGE created unnecessarily high levels of chaos — has left remaining members of the cost-cutting group facing growing skepticism among agency officials who, after Musk’s blowup with Trump on Thursday, no longer need to fear retaliation from the world’s richest person.

 

“DOGE was able to work its will because there was the perception that Musk was so close to the president that these orders were coming from the president,” said Elaine Kamarck, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, who ran a “reinventing government” initiative during the Clinton administration. “Now you’ve got a different situation.”

 

At the Federal Aviation Administration, for example, the DOGE team suffered a setback this week when leadership nixed their access to FAA buildings, a command center in Warrenton, Virginia, and the Air Traffic Academy in Oklahoma City, according to an employee briefed on the matter and records obtained by The Washington Post.

Four DOGE staffers were also stripped of their credentials and user accounts inside the FAA’s internal computer systems, the records show.

 

As of June 2, the staffers — Brady Glantz, Samuel Smeal, Tom Kiernan and Theodore Malaska, all of whom are employees of Musk’s SpaceX — no longer bear the title of “senior adviser to the administrator” on their online profiles within the agency, per the records.

 

In fact, their profiles no longer show any job title at all — nor an affiliated organization, manager, email or phone number, the records show. In a briefing Monday, managers explained their removal by noting the team owed its creation and power to an executive order, not an act of Congress — and that Musk was stepping down after his term as a “special government employee” ended, according to an employee who attended, who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation. “So they’re being pushed out,” the employee said.

 

DOGE still maintains a strong presence at the agencies that oversee federal spending, real estate and logistics. Its initial areas of focus included the Treasury Department, the Office of Personnel Management and the General Services Administration, where key allies are still guiding technology modernization efforts.

 

At some other agencies, DOGE representatives have amassed powerful jobs and portfolios.

 

In April, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum issued an order granting sweeping new powers to DOGE staffer Tyler Hassen, a former oil executive, The Post reported.

 

Under Burgum’s order, Hassen is now leading a campaign to “create significant efficiencies” and eliminate “redundant efforts” across Interior, including in IT, human resources, financial management and international affairs.

 

About a week later, the Energy Department named a DOGE team member, Carl Coe, as chief of staff, a top job that helps decide who has access to the energy secretary, according to an email obtained by The Post. His appointment will help “tackle the challenge of strengthening and securing the U.S. energy stem and ensuring America can lead the global race for AI leadership,” the email noted.

 

“The chief of staff is, behind the scenes, the duck paddling under the water making things happen,” said one Energy employee, who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of retribution. “DOGE could control the direction of the agency now.”

 

Elsewhere, DOGE associates brought on for their reputation as business leaders have exerted command over agency staff, overseeing new initiatives within government.

 

Sam Corcos, a start-up founder, has been overseeing DOGE’s work at the IRS, which is increasingly looking to off-load otherwise-monotonous agency work to artificial intelligence programs, according to a person familiar with the matter, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive information.

 

And Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia has been overseeing DOGE’s attempts to modernize the federal government’s paper-based retirement system, which is run through the Office of Personnel Management. Gebbia was seen by Musk allies as potentially taking over some of the broader DOGE portfolio when Musk left.

 

But now his fate is unclear, according to a person familiar with ongoing discussions over DOGE’s role after Musk’s departure. Resistance to DOGE in other agencies predated Musk’s blowup with Trump.

In early May, staffers who said they were with DOGE roamed around secure facilities within Navy Air Station Patuxent River, a Defense Department installation in Maryland where test flights and other sensitive work are carried out.

 

One DOGE staffer reportedly walked in behind another government worker to gain access to the building, a Defense employee said — prompting a warning from installation security officials. “At this time, [Navy Air Systems Command] Security is considering this an unauthorized access attempt,” a security official wrote in email obtained by The Washington Post.

 

The email instructed staffers to report people representing themselves as DOGE staffers to security officials or base police, to refuse to allow anyone to follow them into buildings, and to be on alert for suspicious behavior. In a statement, a Navy official denied that DOGE’s entry into an air station was treated as a security breach.

 

“DOGE representatives met with NAVAIR personnel … The meeting was scheduled.

 

We have no record of DOGE seeking unauthorized entry into NAVAIR facilities on NAS Patuxent River,” said Cmdr. Tim Hawkins, a Navy spokesman. “Reports to the contrary are unsubstantiated.”

 

In a move that could eventually infuse DOGE with more power, the Supreme Court on Friday ruled in two emergency decisions that the group could access sensitive Social Security data again, ending a legal restriction that had lasted for months. The court also ordered a judge to narrow a separate order requiring DOGE to submit discovery in a FOIA lawsuit.

 

James Fishback, CEO of the investment firm Azoria who developed the idea of paying a portion of DOGE’s savings directly to American taxpayers, predicted that the group is not dead yet. “The truth is that Elon set expectations that he relayed to the President, me, and the country that he did not come close to fulfilling,” Fishback said.

 

But “DOGE’s next chapter — under new leadership — will fully deliver on President Trump’s mission of cutting waste, looking out for taxpayers, and making government leaner and more accountable.” Still, as the week wound down, some federal employees took a few moments to celebrate the diminishment of DOGE, however brief.

 

One Interior employee said he and colleagues worked extra-hard, reveling in their government jobs as DOGE seemed to be on the way out. Then he went home and ate some ice cream.

 

At the FAA, a group of staffers went out for post-work drinks to toast the banishment of DOGE staff. Then they offered a more solemn toast to the more than two dozen colleagues they’d lost along the way.

Can you identify this celestial object? Likely not — because this is a discovery image. Massive stars forge heavy elements in their cores and, after a few million years, end their lives in powerful supernova explosions. These remnants cool relatively quickly and fade, making them difficult to detect. To uncover such faint, previously unknown supernova remnants, a dedicated group of amateur astrophotographers searched through sky surveys for possible supernova remnant candidates. The result: the first-ever image of supernova remnant G115.5+9.1 — named Scylla by its discoverers—glowing faintly in the constellation of the mythological King of Aethiopia: Cepheus. Emission from hydrogen atoms in the remnant is shown in red, and faint emission from oxygen is shown in hues of blue. Surprisingly, another discovery lurked to the upper right: a faint, previously unknown planetary nebula candidate. In keeping with mythological tradition, it was named Charybdis (Sai 2) — a nod to the ancient Greek expression "caught between Scylla and Charybdis" from Homer’s Odyssey.

Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent said Sunday that California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) was threatening “to commit criminal tax evasion,” quoting a story from Breitbart News that noted Newsom’s threat Friday.

 

As Breitbart News reported Friday, Newsom threatened to stop federal taxes from being paid by Californians in response to a threat from President Donald Trump to cut of federal funding to the state. That threat, in turn, came after Newsom defied Trump’s executive orders on transgenderism in sports by allowing biological males to compete against females at the high school level.The Trump administration has also said it would claw back federal funds to California in other areas, notably high-speed rail, which has wasted billions of dollars. There were reportsFriday that suggested that Trump is looking for even more funding to withhold.

 

Bessent noted that Newsom would be encouraging private businesses and state officials to break the law.He suggested instead that Newsom should cut taxes and “allow families to keep more of their hard-earned money.”

 

Newsom is fighting against Trump on almost every front, while also seeking $40 billion in aid for fire relief.Despite huge deficits, Newsom approved $50 million in spending for legal fights against the administration.

 

Bessent’s warning also came as Trump federalized 2,000 California National Guard troops and deployed them to stop rioting against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities in Los Angeles.

Mexico’s President, New York Times, Excuse LA’s Mexican-Flag Riots

The New York Times tried to defend the display of Mexico’s flag in the Los Angeles riots, even as Mexico’s president denounced federal intervention in an American city transformed by Mexican illegal migration.

 

“For many protesters who are American citizens, the flag signifies pride in their roots,” the New York Times claimed on June 8, before admitting the flag also showed “solidarity with [illegal] immigrants who are being targeted for deportation.”

 

The article included comments from several flag-wavers who made the same two-step confessions of their solidarity with foreign migrant rioters above American citizens and families:

 

“I am a very proud American,” said Ms.[Elizabeth] Torres, whose grandparents immigrated [likely, illegally] to the United States. “But I have to show support also for our Mexican brothers and sisters.”

 

…“I came out here to support my people and show them where we came from,” [Eric] Torres said. “My parents are immigrants [likely, illegally]. Most of the people right here have immigrant [likely illegally] parents, so I’m here to support, show them our love.”

 

The article was headlined, “The Mexican Flag Has Become a Potent Protest Symbol.”

 

Migrants “feel attacked” by ICE enforcement, claimed Alfonso Gonzales Toribio, a pro-migration revolutionary at the University of California, Riverside, told the New York Times. He continued: “’I don’t think we are going to be able to dissuade people’ from flying the flag of their homeland. ‘It gives people a sense of pride.’”

 

The public intervention by Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum was not mentioned by the New York Times.

 

“Raids and violence are not the way to address the migration phenomenon,” Sheinbaum told the Mexican media on Sunday:

 

It means sitting down and working on comprehensive immigration reform [amnesty] that takes into account all Mexicans on the [U.S.] side of the border (…) always calling for peace, nonviolence, and not exacerbating any form of violent protest … Mexican men and women living [ilegally] in the United States are good, honest men and women who came to the United States to seek a better life for themselves and their families; they are not criminals.

 

On May 24, Sheinbaum called on Mexicans to oppose the draft tax on migrants’ remittances to Mexico that is part of President Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.”

 

Mexico’s government is providing aid and legal advice to the families of the 35 arrested Mexicans via its many consulates in many U.S. cities, she added.

 

Some pro-migration activists have long supported the use of national flags in protests against the nation’s popular immigration policies. In February, for example, Gustavo Arellano, a columnist at the Los Angeles Times, Timeste:

 

The moderates have always feared that Latinos waving the flags of Mexico, El Salvador, Venezuela and other ancestral countries is political suicide — that it taps into the part of the American psyche that believes Latinos will never assimilate and are sleeper agents scheming to overthrow this country. They’ve fretted especially about the Mexican flag, which is radioactive to conservatives — it’s the banner of our southern neighbor that we’ve been at war with, officially and not, for 175-plus years.

 

The flag wavers are the bold ones, the ones a good team offense needs. The public opinion battle might be lost in the short term, goes such logic, but these folks will push the immigration debate toward better places.

 

Democratic political strategist Michael Trujillo claimed the Mexican flag represents American hopes:

 

Sheinbaum’s open support and aid for the roughly 4 million Mexicans illegally living in the United States may become a significant factor in courtroom fights over the status of the Alien Enemies Act if the rioters are mostly Mexicans.

 

The 1798 law gives the President more ability to deport migrants without court intervention:

 

Whenever there is a declared war between the United States and any foreign nation or government, or any invasion or predatory incursion is perpetrated, attempted, or threatened against the territory of the United States by any foreign nation or government … The President is authorized in any such event, by his proclamation thereof, or other public act, to direct the conduct to be observed on the part of the United States, toward the aliens who become so liable.

The sunward plasma jet was caused by "magnetic reconnection" in the sun's atmosphere — the explosive process in which magnetic fields fracture and reconnect.

The powerful phenomenon transforms energy stored in the sun's magnetic field into energy that accelerates the solar wind — the constant stream of charged particles that the sun blasts across the solar system.

 

Understanding magnetic reconnection is critical for making better predictions about space weather, which is driven by the solar wind and other energetic outbursts from our star.

Space weather is a primary suspect for what stripped away Mars' atmosphere, turning it from a habitable planet into an icy desert wasteland.

On Earth, space weather can trigger geomagnetic storms that cause blackouts, damage satellites, interfere with radio and GPS signals, and even put astronauts at risk. On the bright side, it also gives Earth its signature glorious auroras.

 

The sun's magnetic field is extremely powerful, complex and dynamic.

Space weather predictions require complicated computer simulations based on equations that describe how magnetic fields behave — but the sun is so large and convoluted that these equations will always be approximations.

To improve the models' accuracy, scientists must collect extremely detailed measurements of the sun. This is where the Parker Solar Probe comes in.

 

The Parker Solar Probe is the first mission to fly into the sun's upper atmosphere, called the corona.

It has been directly measuring magnetic fields and particles in and around the corona in unprecedented detail, providing scientific insight into the heliosphere (the sun's atmosphere, which encompasses the entire solar system in a massive, elongated bubble).

"These findings indicate that magnetic reconnection … is an important source of energetic particles in the near-Sun solar wind," lead study author Mihir Desai, director of the Southwest Research Institute's Department of Space Research, said in a statement.

"Everywhere there are magnetic fields there will be magnetic reconnection. But the Sun's magnetic fields are much stronger near the star, so there's a lot more stored energy to be released."

 

Understanding the workings of magnetic reconnection events could help scientists better predict harmful space weather, the researchers said.

"Reports from the American Meteorological Society indicated that the powerful solar events in May 2024 wreaked havoc with farmers when extreme geomagnetic storms disrupted the precise GPS-guided navigation systems used to plant, fertilize and harvest rows of seeds, causing an estimated loss of up to $500 million in earning potential," Desai said.

"Parker's access to this new data is critical, particularly as we remain in the midst of a very active solar cycle."

 

The latest measurements of magnetic reconnection, reported in a paper published May 29 in The Astrophysical Journal Letters, are one of many new discoveries Parker has made.

In 2023, over 700 peer-reviewed scientific papers were published using data collected in the probe's first four years of operation, and there are still many more discoveries to be made.

The spacecraft completed its second ultra-close flyby of the sun on March 22, zooming within 3.8 million miles (6.1 million kilometers) of the sun's surface — matching its own record from December 2024.

The core portion of NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope has successfully completed vibration testing, ensuring it will withstand the extreme shaking experienced during launch.

Passing this key milestone brings Roman one step closer to helping answer essential questions about the role of dark energy and other cosmic mysteries.

 

"The test could be considered as powerful as a pretty severe earthquake, but there are key differences," said Cory Powell, the Roman lead structural analyst at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.

"Unlike an earthquake, we sweep through our frequencies one at a time, starting with very low-level amplitudes and gradually increasing them while we check everything along the way.

It's a very complicated process that takes extraordinary effort to do safely and efficiently."

 

The team simulated launch conditions as closely as possible.

"We performed the test in a flight-powered configuration and filled the propulsion tanks with approximately 295 gallons of deionized water to simulate the propellant loading on the spacecraft during launch," said Joel Proebstle, who led this test, at NASA Goddard.

This is part of a series of tests that ratchet up to 125% of the forces the observatory will experience.

 

This milestone is the latest in a period of intensive testing for the nearly complete Roman Space Telescope, with many major parts coming together and running through assessments in rapid succession.

Roman currently consists of two major assemblies: the inner, core portion (telescope, instrument carrier, two instruments, and spacecraft) and the outer portion (outer barrel assembly, solar array sun shield, and deployable aperture cover).

 

Now, having completed vibration testing, the core portion will return to the large clean room at Goddard for post-test inspections. They'll confirm that everything remains properly aligned and the high-gain antenna can deploy.

The next major assessment for the core portion will involve additional tests of the electronics, followed by a thermal vacuum test to ensure the system will operate as planned in the harsh space environment.

 

In the meantime, Goddard technicians are also working on Roman's outer portion.

They installed the test solar array sun shield, and this segment then underwent its own thermal vacuum test, verifying it will control temperatures properly in the vacuum of space.

Now, technicians are installing the flight solar panels to this outer part of the observatory.

 

The team is on track to connect Roman's two major assemblies in November, resulting in a whole observatory by the end of the year that will then undergo final tests.

Roman remains on schedule for launch by May 2027, with the team aiming for as early as fall 2026.

The mission will launch from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA. The crew will travel to the Space Station aboard a Dragon spacecraft, launched on a Falcon 9 rocket.

During the journey to the International Space Station, Sławosz will serve as a mission specialist. He will be joined by commander Peggy Whitson (USA), pilot Shubhanshu Shukla (India) and fellow mission specialist Tibor Kapu (Hungary).

 

Ax-4 marks the second commercial human spaceflight mission for an ESA project astronaut. Sponsored by the Polish government and supported by ESA, the Polish Ministry of Economic Development and Technology (MRiT) and the Polish Space Agency (POLSA), the mission features an ambitious programme of technological and scientific research.

 

During the Ignis mission, Sławosz will conduct 13 experiments proposed by Polish companies and institutions and developed in collaboration with ESA, along with three additional ESA-led experiments.

These cover a broad range of areas including human research, materials science, biology, biotechnology and technology demonstration.

 

Sławosz and his crewmates are expected to reach the International Space Station approximately 36 hours after launch. The capsule is scheduled to dock on Wednesday, 11 June at 16:30 GMT (18:30 CEST).

Live coverage will begin two hours before docking. You can also watch the crew entering the station and the welcome ceremony live on ESA Web TV and on ESA’s YouTube channel.

The Ignis mission will officially begin as soon as Sławosz goes through the hatch.

Preface to King-Kill/ 33: James Shelby Downard's Vision

 

This excerpt from the essay "King-Kill/33" has been out of print since 1987 and the publication of the first edition of Adam Parfrey's conspiracy anthology, 'Apocalypse Culture.' Subsequent editions of 'Apocalypse Culture' (including the current Feral House edition), do not carry it.

May his surviving murderers be yet brought to justice.

 

Convicted Mafia hit-man Charles Harrelson, a suspected Kennedy assassin, is incarcerated in a Federal prison for the contract killing of a federal judge. (The suspect is the father of "Natural Born Killer" movie star Woody Harrelson, who was directed by "JFK" filmmaker Oliver Stone). Journalists have thus far shown little interest in attempting to interview the senior Harrelson and persuade him to provide information which might lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Kennedy's killing.

 

The late James Shelby Downard's primal way of looking at things, which is the way I think ancient man perceived the world, encompasses a vision that detects every link and every symbol, beginning with the significance of names, then places and then the obsessive actions which stem from the confluence of the two and which have come to be known as ritual. Publisher Adam Parfrey, who first brought Shelby's work to a mass audience, states:

Grimstad and Charles Saunders, a brilliant recluse who was a close friend of Jack Kerouac toward the end of the Beat writer's life (a fact missed by every one of Kerouac's numerous biographers; so much for biographers).

 

Shelby's conversation that day ranged from the occult significance of the Theremin musical instrument to the sorcerous implications of elevators, the relationship he had with an evanescent rabbit named Petey; the sinister connotations of the circus and the mystical topography of the American Southwest, which Mr. Downard knew the way you and I know our backyard.

 

As he fried our hamburgers, he regaled us in his prospector's drawl with the hidden wonders of a tapestry of coincidences which he wove from the seeming mundane details of everyday living, into a magic carpet of incomparable strangeness and peerless utility.

 

Parfrey spoke for many of Shelby's friends and associates when he stated: "Downard has influenced me to look with interest upon the details and the fantastic convergences of life…"

 

For my money, James Shelby Downard is the one man most intimately tied to the once and future November, on the Camelot calendar's 33rd turning of the wheel, in this age of the Revelation of the Method; the era of the deluge of hidden facts made public, which Downard predicted would not liberate us, but only enslave us further.

 

More than two decades ago he foresaw the coming of this time as the fulfillment of the final dictum of the alchemical rampage of the elephant Must Be; the behemoth run amok in the fields of our nightmares. As the "X-Files" and the other fictional TV shows which neither I or Shelby have ever seen, purposefully muddy the waters with a flood of pop drivel disguised as revelation, the actual truths are lost in the swirl.

 

James Shelby Downard looked forward to the time beyond Must Be, to the era which will witness the return of could be. After the coming cataclysmic chastisement has run its cleansing course, we will once again wish upon a star and dream a destiny free of the masonic chain that at present binds our nation as tightly as the hangman's rope once bound the rotted cadavers on Tyburn Tree.

Mystical Toponomy

 

Mystical toponomy incorporates word wizardry (onomatology) and the Masonic science of symbolism. In considering my data it would be helpful to consider a dictum of Einsteinian physics: "Time relations among events are assumed to be first constituted by the specific physical relations obtaining between them."

 

My study of place names imbued with sorcerous significance necessarily includes lines of latitude and longitude and the divisions of degrees in geography and cartography (minutes and seconds).

 

Let us take as an example the "Mason Road" in Texas that connects to the "Mason No El Bar" and the Texas-New Mexico ("The Land of Enchantment") border. This connecting line is on the 32nd degree. The 32nd degree is the penultimate Masonic degree awarded. When this 32nd degree of latitude is traced west into the "Land of Enchantment" it becomes situated midway between Deming and Columbus, New Mexico.

 

Slightly to the north of the town of Columbus are the Tres Hermanas (three sisters) mountains. It is approximately 32 miles between Deming and Columbus. The Three Sisters mountains are a minute and some seconds south of the 32nd degree line. When this line is traced further west it passes the ghost town of Shakespeare at a distance south of the town which is roughly equivalent to the distance which the 32nd degree line passes north of the Three Sisters mountains. The names "Shakespeare" and "Three Sisters" find a connection in the tragedy Macbeth which comprises such a large part of JFK assassination imagery.

 

When this 32nd degree line is traced a little distance farther west, into Arizona, it crosses an old trail which meandered north of what is now another ghost town but which at one time was called the town of "Ruby." Part of the old winding trail became known as the "Ruby Road." The town of Ruby acquired its name officially on April 11, 1912, and was notorious for many brutal murders which had ritual aspects. The Killing of the King

 

Never allow anyone the luxury of assuming that because the dead and deadening scenery of the American city-of-dreadful-night is so utterly devoid of mystery, so thoroughly flat-footed, sterile and infantile, so burdened with the illusory gloss of "baseball-hot dogs-apple-pie-and-Chevrolet" that it is somehow outside the psycho-sexual domain.

On the morning of November 22, they flew to Gate 28 at Love Field, Dallas, Texas. The number 28 is one of the correspondences of Solomon in kabbalistic numerology; the Solomonic name assigned to 28 is "Beale."

 

On the 28th degree of latitude in the state of Texas is the site of what was once the giant "Kennedy ranch." The motorcade proceeded from Love Field to Dealey Plaza. Dealey Plaza is the site of the Masonic temple in Dallas (now razed) and there is a marker attesting to this fact in the plaza.

 

Important "protective" strategy for Dealey Plaza was planned by the New Orleans CIA station whose headquarters were a Masonic temple building. Dallas, Texas is located ten miles north of the 33rd degree of latitude. The 33rd degree is the highest in Freemasonry and the founding lodge of the Scottish Rite in America was created in Charleston, South Carolina, exactly on the 33rd degree line.

On the corner of Bloody Elm and Houston is the "Sexton Building." "Sexton" is heavily laden with graveyard connotations. It is closely associated to the beetles of the genus Necrophorus or Sexton Beetles, so-called because they bury the remains of tiny animals with their eggs.

 

Bloody Elm, Main, and Commerce form a trident pattern in alignment with the triple underpass as any Dallas map will show. Many analysts contend that at least three assassins were involved in the crossfire ambush of Kennedy.

 

It is a prime tenet of Masonry that its assassins come in threes. Masonic assassins are known in the code of the lodge as the "unworthy craftsmen." Because Masonry is obsessed with earth-as-gameboard (tessellation) and the ancillary alignments necessary to facilitate the "game," it is inordinately concerned with railroads and railroad personnel to the extent that outside of lawyers and circus performers, no other vocation has a higher percentage of Masons than railroad workers.

 

Minutes after John Fitzgerald Kennedy was murdered three "hoboes" ("unworthy craftsmen") were arrested at the railyard behind Dealey Plaza.

 

No records of their identities have ever been revealed nor the "identity" of the arresting officer. All that remains of those few minutes are a series of photographs which have reached legendary proportions among persons concerned with uncovering the real forces and persons behind the assassination.

 

Dealey Plaza breaks down symbolically in this manner: "Dea" means "goddess" in Latin and "Ley" can pertain to the law or rule in the Spanish, or lines of preternatural geographic significance in the pre-Christian nature religions of the English.

 

For many years Dealey Plaza was underwater at different seasons, having been flooded by the Trinity River until the introduction of a flood-control system. To this trident-Neptune site came the "Queen of Love and Beauty" and her spouse, the scapegoat in the Killing of the King rite, the "Ceannaideach" (Gaelic word for Kennedy meaning "ugly head" or "wounded head").

'What a waste:' US scientists decry Trump's 47% cuts to NASA science budget

Since January, when President Donald Trump took office for the second time, the White House has been asking U.S. government organizations to implement some pretty radical changes. Things have been tense, to say the least.

Thousands of federal workers have been laid off with little explanation, programs that improve diversity in the workplace have been eliminated, research grants have been cancelled in large sweeps, and international college students find themselves at risk of losing their legal status.

One government organization that could be hit the hardest is NASA.

 

The agency has faced a particularly extensive amount of pressure from the Trump administration: surveillance, goal restructuring, website purging and more.

Other federal science organizations haven't been spared, either — places like the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the United States Geological Survey (USGS) have been targeted as well.

The ground of U.S. science seems to be quaking for political reasons rather than scientific ones, leaving scientists disheartened by their government and anxious about what's next.

 

"I don't think it is an overstatement to say that morale among U.S.-based scientists is at an all-time low," Sarah Horst, an associate professor in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at The Johns Hopkins University in Maryland, told Space.com.

"People are afraid for their jobs, their students, the projects they've often spent decades working on, and they are afraid for the future of the United States."

 

And things only got worse on May 30, when the Trump administration's fiscal year 2026 budget request for NASA came out.

It proposes cutting the agency's science funding by 47%, and the agency's workforce by about one-third — from 17,391 to 11,853. This budget has to be officially passed by Congress to take effect, but if it indeed does, the effects could be brutal.

"That would represent the smallest NASA workforce since mid-1960, before the first American had launched into space," Casey Dreier, chief of space policy at The Planetary Society, a nonprofit exploration and advocacy organization, told Space.com.

"If this budget is made real, I am most concerned about people," John O'Meara, chief scientist at the Keck Observatory, told Space.com. "Missions deliver data and are essential, but the data is meaningless without the people there to interpret it, test theories and share discoveries with the world."

 

An 'extinction-level event'

Perhaps the most striking aspect of the White House's 2026 NASA budget proposal is the sheer amount of missions it would cancel altogether: 41 projects, as the Planetary Society said in a statement denouncing the report.

"This is the extinction-level event we were warning people about," Dreier said.

Some specifics: The sharply reduced budget would cancel the Mars Sample Return (MSR) program, which was meant to bring samples of the Red Planet's surface to Earth — samples that NASA's Perseverance rover has been dutifully collecting over the last few years, and which scientists have long stressed must be analyzed in a lab to reach their full potential.

 

MSR has experienced its own share of complications since its genesis, to be fair, including a huge price tag and what some believe is an overcomplicated mechanism of sample retrieval.

However, cancelling the project outright instead of coming up with a solution would waste much of Perseverance's work on the Red Planet.

 

The OSIRIS-APEX mission (you may remember it by its previous moniker, OSIRIS-REx) would also be cut off.

This mission successfully sent a spacecraft on a multi-billion-mile expedition to an asteroid named Bennu, then had it grab a few pieces of the asteroid before traveling all the way back to Earth and safely dropping the samples to the ground.

This same probe is now on round two, headed to examine the infamous asteroid Apophis — but if the FY26 NASA budget is confirmed, it won't complete its trip.

 

"I'm personally mostly concerned for in-flight missions that already have a significant investment in both taxpayer dollars and peoples' lives/careers (including my own)," Kevin McGill, an employee at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), the agency's lead center for robotic planetary exploration, told Space.com.

"Luckily, my work on [the Curiosity Mars rover] and Mars2020 [Perseverance] are mostly safe, but a lot of other stuff isn't."

Oswald may have undergone biotelemetry implantation in the Soviet Union while a "volunteer" at a Behavior Control Center at Minsk. Oswald roomed with Cubans and was allegedly friendly with a Castro-man identified only as being "burly" and a "key man." "Burly" can mean burlecue, burlicue or burlesque. The "key," of course, is one of the most important symbols in Masonry and the symbol of silence.

 

If Oswald was the result of some Soviet Frankenstein process why did he have to travel several thousand miles for such treatment when it is a routine operation in America?

 

While such activities of the Mill-of-Dread are pro forma at a variety of institutions at the present, there was once a time when it was deemed necessary to do such work at Walter Reed Hospital.

 

These implants were back alley operations in which the victims were overpowered in some place or other, drugged and then dragged to this government hospital. They were operated on, continued on a heavy drug regimen and varied from somnolent to comatose for a number of days. The electrical function of the victim was recorded and monitored and the biotelemetry plant tested. Subsequently the victims were "brainwashed" and returned to the place where they had been seized. The targets then continued their existence, unaware of how their bodies had been invaded and their autonomy stolen.

 

Occasionally, victims were returned to Walter Reed because of abscesses at the incision or for the replacement of the obsolete device with an updated one. Biotelemetry implants were made in various parts of the body depending on the desired effect and function.

 

Like the disgraceful treatment of the autopsy of President Kennedy, Oswald's is similarly weird. Oswald was literally butchered in the "postmortem examination." Pieces were actually cut out of his body. The major incision in his torso resembled a huge "Y" which ran from the area of his groin to the solar plexus region. From there incisions were made to the right and left armpits. The so-called "two horns of the letter Y" supposedly symbolize the paths of virtue and vice: the right branch leading to the former and the left to the latter. The letter is sometimes referred to as the "Litera Pythagorae" (The Letter of Pythagoras): "Litera Pythagorae, discrimine secta bicorni, Humanae vitae speciem praeferre videtur" (The Letter of Pythagoras parted by its two branched division appears to exhibit the image of human life).

 

In the 47th Problem of Euclid lies a secret of the 3rd Degree of Masonry. Pythagoras is called by Freemasons "our ancient friend and brother." One of Pythagoras' main doctrines was the system of "Metempsychosis" which pertains to the passing of a human soul into the body of an animal. Perhaps this was the intention of the autopsy-by incising in Oswald's body the "Letter of Pythagoras" they sought to expedite transmigration, and they may even have gone as far as feeding sections of Oswald's corpse to the intended animal, for this too is a practice of what used to be widely feared as necromancy.

The budget also suggests ceasing operations for the Jupiter-orbiting Juno spacecraft, which has been circling our solar system's gas giant since 2016 while regularly delivering rich information about the world and its moons.

Juno is responsible for all those swirly blue images of Jupiter the astronomy community holds high; it took five years for this spacecraft to get to where it is, and many more for it to be built in the first place.

"The operating missions cancellations alone represent over $12 billion of invested taxpayer value — and once they're gone, they're gone. It would take years and many millions more to replace them," Dreier said.

 

NASA would also need to pull out of its collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA) on the Rosalind Franklin rover — for the second time, no less — which is a robotic life-hunting explorer set to launch toward Mars in 2028.

NASA had to pull out in 2012 because of budget cuts as well but re-entered the rover program after ESA cut ties with its other partner, the Russian space agency Roscosmos, once Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.

"This makes the U.S. an untrustworthy partner and our allies hesitate the next time we ask them for help," Dreier said.

 

Two operational Mars orbiters — Mars Odyssey and MAVEN — would be cancelled as well, as would the New Horizons spacecraft currently studying the outer reaches of the solar system and the DaVinci and VERITAS missions, which would explore Venus.

The Lunar Gateway, which NASA envisioned as a sort of International Space Station around the moon, would also be cancelled.

"What was surprising was the level of cuts within parts of each of the agencies. An example is astrophysics, where the cut was nearly 2/3 of the astrophysics budget," O'Meara said.

 

According to the Planetary Society's analysis of the budget, that huge astrophysics reduction could mean eight spacecraft dedicated to studying extreme events in the universe (think, the Chandra X-ray Observatory) would be terminated.

This analysis also suggests 10 missions constructed to study the region around Earth and the sun would be cancelled, as well as about a dozen Earth-specific missions that help scientists forecast natural disasters such as hurricanes and track global warming.

 

The latter is especially concerning, given the speed with which Earth is heating up due to human activities that lead to greenhouse gas emissions — activities the Trump administration favors, such as burning coal for cheap power.

Per the budget proposal, the White House also wants NASA to eliminate its "green aviation" spending, dedicated to making airplanes better for the environment, and instead work on "protecting the development of technologies with air traffic control and defense applications."

It is also worth considering that other Trump-mandated moves have heavily impacted climate initiatives as well: more than 800 NOAA workers were laid off, for example, and NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, which houses climate change records dating back to the 1800s, was closed down — leading members of NASA's largest union to speak out in solidarity with their coworkers.

 

Hundreds of scientists working on the National Climate Assessment, a huge report that details the dangers of climate change for policymakers to lean on, were also dismissed. (That represented all of the authors of this report).

"This budget request, and its implications, has been highly disruptive to the entire field," O'Meara said. "We are forced to focus on 'what-if' planning that changes in scope rapidly. That takes the time away from what we do best: doing science and sharing it with the world."

 

Moving toward Mars?

Furthermore, the White House's FY26 NASA budget proposal centers around a shift toward human missions to the Red Planet; this was a rare area that saw a budget boost in the President's request.

For example, one slide in the budget summary says NASA should invest "more than $1 billion in new technology investments to enable a crewed mission to Mars."

Another says the agency should allocate "$200M for Commercial Mars Payload Services (CMPS) to start launching robotic precursor missions to the Martian surface, and $80M to start deploying communications relay capabilities for Mars."

"It just bothers me that they are changing almost the entirety of NASA's mission to this pipe dream of a human mission to Mars in any reasonable time frame and cost," McGill said.

Space.com reached out to NASA for comment on the possible impact of these budget cuts, and was directed to acting administrator Janet Petro's statement in the proposal's Technical Supplement.

This statement is supportive of the budget request overall, mentioning items such as a renewed push for human spaceflight to the moon and Mars.

"The President's Fiscal Year 2026 Budget Request for NASA reflects the Trump-Vance Administration's commitment to strengthening America's leadership in space exploration while exercising fiscal responsibility.

With this budget, we aim to shape a Golden Age of innovation and exploration," it reads.

 

This shift toward Mars crewed missions is perhaps predictable, given Trump's affiliation with SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk. (Former affiliation, maybe, given the heated feud currently unfolding on social media between the two.)

Musk was a prominent backer of Trump's campaign and worked very closely with him over the past four months. For example, the SpaceX chief ran the Department of Governmental Efficiency (DOGE), which was responsible for the bulk of government funding cuts in the name of saving "wasted taxpayer money."

Independently, Musk has earned a reputation as maybe the most outspoken advocate of settling Mars, even going so far as to say he wishes to "die on Mars." SpaceX, as well as its fans, are extremely focused on achieving that goal.

"In isolation, a serious humans to Mars campaign should be exciting — Mars exploration is a worthy goal, and The Planetary Society has advocated for that for years," Dreier said. "But the cost here is too high."

 

Another concern Dreier has is that the White House expects to achieve this major goal while simultaneously reducing NASA's workforce at an unprecedented rate.

"This isn't just poor policy," he added. "It's fundamentally wasteful and inefficient, exactly what this administration is saying it does not want."

And the layoffs could be even more far-reaching than anticipated.

 

McGill says morale at JPL had already been very low after sweeping layoffs took place last year, but also that the energy was further damaged by the agency's recent return-to-office order.

For context, nearly 5,500 JPL employees who have been working remotely since the thick of the COVID-19 pandemic were told they must return to in-person work.

The deadlines for that return were Aug. 25 for general employees within California and Oct. 27 for teleworkers living outside the state.

 

"Employees who do not return by their required date will be considered to have resigned," JPL officials said in a workforce-wide email that was obtained by Space.com.

"It's clear that it's a silent layoff of the over 1,000 remote employees who they don't want to pay severance to," a NASA employee at JPL not authorized to speak on behalf of the agency previously told Space.com.

McGill says the order "threatens to decimate the workforce and a lot of critical institutional knowledge."

"I love JPL and its mission, but it's been a rough time as of late," he said.

Is this bill 'dead on arrival?'

According to Dreier, there's good news and bad news concerning whether the budget proposal will go through. The good news is that, as he explains, there seems to be bipartisan dislike for the proposal.

"We've heard directly from multiple congressional offices — Republican and Democrat — that this budget is 'dead on arrival,'" he said.

 

Of note, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation released his legislative directives for Senate Republicans' budget reconciliation bill on Friday (June 6).

The senator proposes dedicating $10 billion more to NASA's science programs — and, though most of it is indeed in line with the FY26 budget request's Mars endeavors, some of that funding would be used for other things, like NASA Space Launch System (SLS) rocket meant for moon exploration and Lunar Gateway.

This united aversion to the budget proposal is unsurprising. The bipartisan U.S. Planetary Science Caucus, for instance, previously released a statement in response to early blueprints of the proposal that suggested the huge cuts we're seeing presented now.

"We are extremely alarmed by reports of a preliminary White House budget that proposes cutting NASA Science funding by almost half and terminating dozens of programs already well underway, like the Mars Sample Return mission and the Roman Space Telescope," co-chairs Rep. Judy Chu (D-California) and Rep. Don Bacon (R-Nebraska) wrote.

 

Such agreement across the aisle makes sense when we consider how long it takes for space missions to reach fruition. Collaboration isn't just key — it's unavoidable.

"Spaceflight, and human spaceflight in particular, requires hand-off from one administration to another," Dreier said. "The timelines are just too long for any one presidential administration."

The bad news, however, is the White House may have a workaround.

 

"Even if Congress ultimately rejects this budget, the slow pace of legislation and gridlock we've seen in recent years make it unlikely that appropriations will be in place by October 1st of this year," Dreier said.

"If there's another continuing resolution, the White House budget office will throttle spending to match the lowest of all possible budget scenarios: theirs. So, we face the possibility of these cuts going into effect by default.

Given the breadth and depth of these cuts, that could be very hard to recover from."

 

"This budget proposal threatens to tear down that carefully constructed coalition in favor of a narrow vision that lacks the political durability necessary for long-term success," he added.

"What a waste."

The fire in the middle of the circle represents a point in the circle, the same type of symbolism that is recognizable in Kennedy's bier and cof fin being in the center of the rotunda in the Capitol. A point in a circle symbolized the sun in ancient sun worship. It was also a symbol of fecundity, with the point symbolizing a phallus and the circle a vagina.

 

At the Oswald gravesite stands a small tree. There exists an old belief that a tree which grows at or on a grave is embodied with the spirit-force of the person buried at that site, and that a twig or branch taken from such a tree has magical powers.

 

I suggest that Lee Harvey Oswald's mother should gently remove a twig from the tree at her son's grave and then at every opportunity touch FBI agents, CIA operatives, policemen, etc., with that same twig. Such a procedure couldn't help but be more efficacious in bringing the murderers of JFK to justice than the Warren Commission was.

Funerary Rites

 

John F. (Honey Fitz) Fitzgerald, the grandfather of John F. Kennedy, was elected mayor of Boston thanks in part to his "Wake House" campaigns which were much imitated. These consisted of a daily surveillance of the newspapers for announcements of deaths after which a discreet "sympathizer" would be dispatched and a good deal of political mileage accumulated in the bargain.

 

For a time the Fitzgeralds lived near the former site of the Green Dragon Tavern, established around 1680 and demolished for the widening of a street in 1820. The Fitzgerald home was on Hanover Street and the Green Dragon Tavern was on Green Dragon Lane (now Union Street). The tavern boasted the "first lodge room of Freemasonry in America," the St. Andrew Lodge located within the tavern proper.

 

In the mysticism of the Chinese tongs, the Green Dragon is a death symbol. A symbol of the dragon is worn on a ring or held in the hand of a "hatchet man." The Green Dragon is supposed to impart the notion of a "license to kill" for it signifies that the murder is an affair of "honor": the Green Dragon is the guardian of the god-with-a-thousand-eyes who protects the sanctity of the third heaven.

 

Much of Boston's Irish population arrived in American in what were nicknamed the "coffin ships." Members of the Kennedy family were acquainted with the "Coffin" family. The Reverend William Sloane Coffin was the son of the theologian Henry Sloane Coffin; the younger Coffin was a member of the Peace Corps Advisory Council that Sargent Shriver headed. "Shriver" or "Shrive" has the meaning of one who grants absolution to a penitent, and it was customary to call upon a shriver before death. If the shriver was not available, a "sin eater" was summoned. The old pious cry which was connected with the request for a shriving was "Shrive me O Holy Land and Give Me Peace." Sargent Shriver, a Catholic and Kennedy by marriage, as head of the Peace Corps and in association with a Coffin, might be considered to be in a sensitive position in relation to mystical onomatology.

 

In the ancient mysteries the aspirant could not claim a participation in the highest secrets until he had been placed in the Pastos, bed or coffin. The placing of him in the coffin was called the symbolical death of the mysteries, and his deliverance was termed a rising from the dead; the "mind," says an ancient writer quoted by Stobaeus, is afflicted in death just as it is in the initiation in the mysteries. And word answers to word, as well as thing to thing; for burial is to die and death to be initiated. The coffin in Masonry is found on the tracing boards of the early part of the last century, and has always constituted a part of the symbolism of the Third Degree, where the reference is precisely to the same as that of the Pastos in the ancient mysteries. President Kennedy sat at the head of a coffin table at the White House. To his back, over a fireplace, hung a portrait of Abraham Lincoln, an assassinated president. On either side of the picture were urns that resembled the type called "cinerary urns" which are vessels in which the ashes of the dead are kept.

 

A book about JFK was called Three Steps to the White House. In Masonry are what is known as the "three symbolical steps." "The three grand steps symbolically lead from this life to the source of all knowledge." (Encyclopedia of Freemasonry)

 

It must be evident to every Master Mason without further explanation, that the three steps are taken from the darkness to a place of light, either figuratively or really over a coffin, the symbol of death, to teach symbolically that the passage from darkness and ignorance of this life through death to the light and knowledge of eternal life. The body of President Kennedy was placed in a coffin which was positioned in the center of a circle under the Capitol dome. The catafalque was "a temporary structure of wood appropriately decorated with funeral symbols and representing a tomb or cenotaph. It forms a part of the decorations of a 'Sorrow Lodge.' " This Masonic Encyclopedia entry refers to the ceremonies of the Third Degree in Lodges of the French Rite.

This watch lived up to the traditional "liveliness" of these affairs and Mr. Finnegan was splashed with some vintage Irish whiskey (Fitzgerald's?) and resurrected. "Finnegan's Wake"…

 

After the Kennedy coffin was removed from the center of the Capitol rotunda circle, it was taken, with pageantry, to the street for viewing. The funeral procession made an "unplanned stop" on Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the "Occidental Restaurant" and a picture was taken of the flag draped Kennedy coffin with the word "Occidental" featured prominently over it. In Masonry and in the lore of the Egyptian jackal-god Anubis, a dead person is said to have "gone west."

The number of steps in the winding stair are "odd" although no less so than the fact that this Tito or Harodim is a name translating as "those who rule over" the activities of the temple Solomon.

 

The winding stairs of this temple, according to the Masons, begins at the porch and winds to a level purified by the Divine Presence (Shekinah) and dominated by the Divine Strength (Oswald).

 

President Kennedy preceded Tito down the stairs to a portrait of the assassinated President Garfield where he was photographed, and another picture was taken on the stairs before a picture of Lincoln (recall the black walnut rocker of JFK, comparable to the black walnut rocker Lincoln was assassinated in; the "Lincoln Continental" limousine in which Kennedy was shot and the dozens of other parallels between the two men). John F. Kennedy, the one and only Catholic president of the United States, was a human scapegoat, a "pharmakos." "Pharmakos" or "Pharmak-vos" can mean "enchantment with drugs and sorcery" or "beaten, crippled or immolated." In alchemy, the Killing of the King was symbolized by a crucified snake on a tau cross, a variant of the crucifixion of Jesus.

 

Jesus Christ was tortured and murdered as the result of the intrigue of the men of the Temple of Solomon who hated and feared Him. They were steeped in Egyptian, Babylonian and Phoenician mysticism.

There may be an infinite amount of energy locked in the vacuum of space-time. So could we ever harness this energy for anything useful?

The idea of vacuum energy comes from quantum field theory, which is a marriage of quantum mechanics with Einstein's theory of special relativity. In quantum field theory, particles are not really what we think they are. Instead, they are better represented as fields, which are quantum entities that span all of space and time. When a localized patch of the field gets sufficient energy and starts traveling, we identify it as a particle. But the real fundamental object is the field itself.

 

In quantum mechanics, any system has a defined set of energies, like the energies that an electron can have in its orbital shells around an atomic nucleus.

Similarly, the quantum fields have energies associated with them at every point in space. Any finite volume, like an empty box, contains an infinite number of geometric points, so this means there's an infinite amount of energy in that volume.

 

This happens even when the fields are in their lowest energy state possible, also known as the zero-point state or the ground state.

This is the state with no extra energy added to it, no extra vibrations, no extra excitations whatsoever — just the lowest possible ground state, below which there is nothing.

But due to the fundamental uncertainties of quantum mechanics, even this ground state has an energy associated with it, so you still run into an infinite amount of energy.

 

However, we can't extract energy out of the vacuum and use it to do work. That's because whatever its value is, it is the lowest energy state possible for the universe.

To get work done, you have to transfer energy from one state to another. But if you could somehow "pull" energy out of the vacuum, there would be no place to put it, because no matter what you do, you are still surrounded by a vacuum.

It's like drawing water out of the bottom of a dry well: There's nothing left to give.

 

Another way to look at it that is completely compatible with the field portrait is via the Heisenberg uncertainty principle, which states that you can never know both the energy of a particle and the duration of its existence with a perfect degree of precision.

This means that at the ground state or zero-point state of the universe, particles can temporarily pop into existence, "borrowing" energy from the vacuum, as long as they disappear in a short enough time to return that energy back.

 

If you were to pluck out one of these particles and make it permanent, that would violate the Heisenberg uncertainty principle because you borrowed energy from the ground state without giving it back in time.

These particles are known as virtual particles. They are the manifestation of all the fundamental energies of the quantum fields that permeate space-time.

 

The bottom line is that no matter what the zero-point energy is, it's the background of the universe on top of which all of physics takes place.

Just as you can't go lower than the ground floor of a building with no basement, you can't get lower than the ground state of the universe — so there's nothing for you to extract, and there's no way to leverage that into useful applications of energy.

So, unfortunately, any work you do in the universe will have to be done the old-fashioned way.

LAPD Chief Contradicts Newsom, Bass, Schiff: ‘Violence Is Escalating’

 

The violence from protesters involved in the pro-migration, foreign-flag-waving riots in Los Angeles is “escalating,” Los Angeles Police Department Chief Jim McDonnell revealed during a press conference.

 

During the press conference, McDonnell revealed that the violence is “getting increasingly worse and more violent” since the riots first started over the weekend. McDonnell also added that protesters were shooting “commercial grade fireworks” at LAPD officers.

 

McDonnell also revealed that he respects U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, adding that they are a “fellow law enforcement agency.”

 

“To the people who are not happy with the fact that ICE is in the community doing what ICE does — I respect ICE for being a fellow law enforcement agency. They have their mission, they have their … what they have to do. We don’t engage in that activity, but again, we can’t preclude them from doing that. They have every right to do that,” McDonnell said.

 

“This violence that I’ve seen is disgusting, it’s escalated now since the beginning of this incident. What we saw the first night was bad, what we’ve seen subsequent to that is getting increasingly worse and more violent. Tonight we had individuals out there shooting commercial grade fireworks at our officers, that can kill you,” McDonnell added. “We have adapted our tactics to have a chance to take these people into custody, and to be able to hold them accountable. We are overwhelmed as far as the number of people out there engaged in this type of activity, and the type of things that they are doing.”

 

When asked during the press conference what his “position” is on President Donald Trump issuing a presidential memorandum, deploying 2,000 National Guardsmen and if they were needed, McDonnell responded by explaining that normally his department “would have gone through a number of steps” before the National Guard was deployed or requested to be deployed.

 

“It’s an interesting question because I would have said that … we could handle this. I believe that we would have gone through a number of steps before we’d have deployed the National Guard or requested deployment of the National Guard,” McDonnell said. “We would normally go to 50 percent deployment to handle radio calls and do the business of policing, and everybody else would be focused on the initial problem. Beyond that, then we would request, through the sheriff, mutual aid, and that would bring in members of the 44 other police departments in LA County, as well as the sheriff’s office.”

 

When asked again if the National Guard was needed, McDonnell said the riots have “gotten out of control” and noted that “looking at the violence tonight,” he thought his department may need to “make a reassessment.”

 

“Looking at tonight, this thing has gotten out of control,” McDonnell answered. “I think before I could answer that, I’d have to know more about what their capabilities are, what their role is intended to be, to be able to make that determination. But, we have great cops in Southern California here that work together all the time, so we have tremendous capability here. To say that we would go to that right away, I’d say we’re not. We wouldn’t have been there yet. Looking at the violence tonight, I think we got to make a reassessment.”

 

Breitbart News reported that the protests in Los Angeles broke out over the weekend, with over 40 people being arrested on Friday as ICE agents carried out immigration raids and search warrants.

 

Videos and photos posted to social media have shown demonstrators involved in the riots tearing up sidewalks and throwing rocks over an overpass at law enforcement officials, setting fire to California Highway Patrol vehicles, throwing rocks at Border Patrol vehicles, and shooting fireworks at police officers on horseback.

 

In response to Trump deploying thousands of National Guardsmen to quell the violence in Los Angeles, several Democrats such as former Vice President Kamala Harris, California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D) have criticized the move as “a dangerous escalation” and “purposefully inflammatory.”

 

California Sen. Adam Schiff (D) also weighed in on Trump federalizing the National Guard, stating that it was “unprecedented.”

They stormed the border for four years without background checks of the sort that American citizens must undergo to purchase a firearm or take out a loan.

 

At a time when citizens were expelled from the military for not submitting to the experimental mRNA COVID inoculations, millions of foreign nationals, with the Biden administration’s encouragement, crossed the southern border, exempt from any vaccination requirement or medical examination.

 

When Americans were required to present multiple forms of identification to apply for a mandatory “real ID” to fly in 2025, millions of illegal entrants were flown across the country, often stealthily and under the cover of night, without any valid ID at all.
