There’s a point in every politician’s career where the brand overtakes the brain.For Rand Paul, that moment may have arrived in mid-air, right as he flew over the shark-infested waters of political irrelevance.

 

Like so many libertarian purists before him, Paul has wandered too far out. He’s no longer swimming with the current; he’s grandstanding on a water ski of smugness, waving his principled flag no one asked for. And it all came to a head when he went on national TV and said, after a foreign flag-waving mob attacked ICE officers in Los Angeles,“We should cut the immigration enforcement funding in Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill in half.”Rand is jumping the shark.

 

The most serious border security legislation in a generation, and Paul’s hot take is to slash it.All because he’s got a bad case of what we’ll call Libertarian Derangement Syndrome, a close cousin of TDS, butwith more self-righteous monologues and very limited political wins.

 

To be clear, Rand Paul is not a dumb man.But he’s become a caricature of the hyper-emotional ideological libertarian who cares more about virtue signaling and sounding principled than taking a risk and doing something useful. And like all people afflicted with LDS,he’s becoming more worried about optics than outcomes.

 

But here’s the moment where the mask comes completely off:Paul only seems to care about reckless spending when it gives him an excuse to grandstand. When it’s time to cut real waste or rein in agencies that are actively undermining Americans, there’s awkward silence. Take a look at his own FEC filings: $50,000 blown on luxury hotels, fine dining, and private travel services during a European fundraiser tour.

You can’t scream about fiscal responsibility while sipping champagne at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm on the donor dime. That’s not principle.

 

Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill isn’t perfect, but it’s the start. It’s bold, structurally smart legislation conservatives have begged for.

 

To put it plainly, the BBB is the legislative embodiment of the MAGA agenda. It fuses tax cuts, welfare reform, and a real-deal immigration crackdown into one unapologetic package.

 

This isn’t some bloated omnibus loaded with pork and betrayal. It’s a battle plan, and it’s aimed straight at the bureaucratic machine that’s been looting America for decades.

 

And nobody explains it better than Stephen Miller, who’s been making the rounds with surgical precision. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Monday said he is “retiring” all 17 members of a crucial government panel of vaccine advisors.

Kennedy is removing all members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, or ACIP, which advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

It’s the latest move by Kennedy – a prominent vaccine skeptic – to change and potentially undermine vaccinations in the U.S. since he took the helm at HHS.

 

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Monday said he is “retiring” all 17 members of a crucial government panel of vaccine advisors, a shocking step that could help to sow doubts about immunizations in the U.S.

 

“A clean sweep is needed to re-establish public confidence in vaccine science,” Kennedy said in an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal on Monday.

 

Kennedy is removing all members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, or ACIP, which advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The group reviews vaccine data and makes recommendations that determine who is eligible for shots and whether insurers should cover them, among other efforts.

 

ACIP members are independent medical and public experts who make recommendations based on rigorous scientific review and evidence. The CDC director has to sign off on those recommendations for them to become official policy.

 

It is unclear who Kennedy will appoint to the new group. In a release, HHS said ACIP will still hold a planned meeting from June 25 to 27 to make recommendations.

 

The advisor overhaul is the latest move by Kennedy – a prominent vaccine skeptic – to change and potentially undermine vaccinations in the U.S. since he took the helm at HHS. For years, the popular “LA Scanner” account on X presented itself as a simple, neutral feed with just scanner updates, crime alerts, and public safety notices. But now, the left-wing mask has finally slipped.

 

And what do we see underneath? A raging left-wing activist with Stage 5 TDS, an open hatred for law enforcement, and a not-so-subtle agenda to turn his 40K followers into digital foot soldiers for sabotage against ICE.

 

In a now-viral post, the account openly encouraged people to commit a federal crime – calling in fake reports to ICE in order to tie up their resources and “make them look like fools.” That’s not free speech. That’s incitement. That’s obstruction. And, as we mentioned, that’s a felony.

And here’s the kicker: the guy knew exactly what he was doing. His snarky “definitely don’t call in fake reports” phrasing was a wink-and-nod to his activist base. The intent was clear—and now that it’s blowing up in his face, he’s panicking.

 

For those that don’t know, filing false reports to a federal law enforcement agency is illegal under 18 U.S.C. § 1001. It carries up to 5 years in prison or 8 years if it involves terrorism-related targets. And according to Grok and legal analysts, it’s easily traceable thanks to SS7 signaling, ANI data, and VoIP tracing. Translation: You will get caught.

 

One X user put it bluntly: “Food for thought in case anyone wants to try and commit a felony by filing false reports… ANI makes it easy to trace your line, even if you spoof your Caller ID.”

 

However, things took a turn for Mr. LA Scanner once the violence escalated in LA and once MAGA accounts started calling for his arrest and removal from X. LA Scanner panicked. While those violent far-left mobs and Mexican nationalist rioters were wreaking havoc in L.A., Mr. LA Scanner decided to up the ante by posting what amounted to a hit list. A list of ICE locations, published in the middle of a live riot. This wasn’t public info sharing. It was tactical incitement.

U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced late today that the HHS is retiring all 17 members of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) vaccine advisory committee.

 

Kennedy announced the move in an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal. “Today, we are taking a bold step in restoring public trust by totally reconstituting the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP),” he wrote.

 

Kennedy noted that some of the current ACIP members were appointed in the final moments of the Biden administration. “Without removing the current members, the current Trump administration would not have been able to appoint a majority of new members until 2028,” he wrote.

 

The ACIP committee is responsible for shaping U.S. vaccine policy by issuing recommendations that become official CDC policy once adopted by the CDC director.

 

ACIP is described as an independent, nonfederal expert body of professionals with clinical, scientific and public health expertise.

 

The committee decides which vaccines should be recommended to the public, who should take them and how often — recommendations the CDC typically rubber stamps.

 

However, most members have financial ties to pharmaceutical companies marketing vaccines, or have worked with public health agencies to promote controversial vaccines, including the COVID-19, RSV and HPV shots.

 

These problems have plagued the committee for decades. A 2000 investigation by the U.S. House of Representatives found that enforcement of conflict-of-interest rules was “weak-to-nonexistent.” A 2009 HHS inspector-general report made similar findings, Kennedy wrote.

 

Investigations by The Defender in 2021 and 2024 also found that most committee members had direct ties to pharmaceutical companies.

 

Kennedy wrote that the committee has “never recommended against a vaccine — even those later withdrawn for safety reasons. He said the committee has failed to “adequately scrutinize” vaccines for babies and pregnant women.

 

“A clean sweep is needed to re-establish public confidence in vaccine science,” Kennedy wrote. “In the 1960s, the world sought guidance from America’s health regulators, who had a reputation for integrity, scientific impartiality and zealous defense of patient welfare. Public trust has since collapsed, but we will earn it back. “

 

According to an HHS press release, 13 of the 17 sitting ACIP members were appointed in 2024. The release stated, “The prior administration made a concerted effort to lock in public health ideology and limit the incoming administration’s ability to take the proper actions to restore public trust in vaccines.”

 

STAT News also reported at the time that the appointments were a move by the Biden administration to stack the committee, intended to “insulate the scientific integrity of the panel from the incoming administration.”

 

ACIP’s next meeting is scheduled for June 25-June 27 at the CDC headquarters in Atlanta, the press release said.

Zelensky knows he’s losing – US senator

Ukraine cannot win the war against Russia on its own, Tommy Tuberville has said

 

Ukraine’s VladimirZelensky is well aware that he cannot win the conflict against Russia on his ownand is trying to drag NATO into it, Sen. Tommy Tuberville, a Republican from Alabama, has said. Such developments could plunge the world into a new world war, he warned.

 

Tuberville made his statements on John Catsimatidis’s radio show “Cats Roundtable” on WABC 770 AM on Sunday. According to the senator, theconflict between Moscow and Kiev is on the verge of spilling over to other nations and potentially involving the American military.

 

There is “no doubt” Zelensky is trying to lure NATO into the conflict, Tuberville said, adding that the Ukrainian leader understands“he can’t win this war on his own” and “knows he is losing.” The senator also branded Zelenskya “dictator,” who had “created all the problems” and did not want to hold elections in Ukraine.

 

“He knew if he had an election, he would [have been] voted out,” the senator said. Instead, Zelensky is looking for ways to escalate the conflict, Tuberville believes.

 

The senator particularly expressed concerns about Ukraine’s recent attack on Russian military airfields. Ukrainian drones struck several Russian airbases in various parts of the country in late May. Ukrainian media claimed the strikes damaged or destroyed approximately 40 Russian military aircraft. Moscow stated that no planes were destroyed in the attacks.

 

According to Tuberville,Zelensky “just called his hand” with this attack and disrupted what “was supposed to have been a peace day.”The senator was referring to a second round of negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations, which took place in Istanbul. Kiev’s attacks took place just a day before the talks.

 

The world does not need such an escalation, Tuberville stated, adding that Russia and Ukraine, as well as the US and the EU need to “pull together to get this thing over with.” Otherwise, “it will be a disaster like… World War II,” he warned.

 

US President Donald Trump has also said he “didn’t like” Kiev’s strikes on Russia’s airfields, and that Ukraine gave Moscow a reason to “bomb the hell out of them.” Russia has repeatedly condemned Ukraine’s continued drone strikes and acts of sabotage on Russian territory, claiming it undermines efforts to find a diplomatic resolution to the conflict.

 

(Zelensky thought he’d be lauded for bombing Russia, but everyone knows it was the agencies that planned and did it, but he gets to take credit. Sorry duded, no credit for you.)

ROME — Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recently published a sharp letter excoriating the Vatican’s plans to renew an agreement with the Chinese government on Church operations in China. He promoted the article in a tweet, concluding, “The Vatican endangers its moral authority, should it renew the deal.”

 

An indignant Vatican took the article more as a calculated affront than a diplomatic gesture. The friction broke into the open on Wednesday as Mr. Pompeo arrived in Rome and met with prelates and others who are hostile to Pope Francis, while the Vatican denied him a meeting with the pontiff and rebuffed his efforts to derail the deal with China.

 

“Pompeo asked to meet” the pope, who turned him down because Francis had “clearly said that he does not receive political figures ahead of the elections,” Cardinal Pietro Parolin, who, as secretary of state, is the Vatican’s second-ranking official, told reporters.

 

But to some observers on both sides of the tensions between the Roman Catholic Church and the Trump administration, Mr. Pompeo’s visit is as much about the coming presidential election as about China policy. Mr. Pompeo dismissed that suggestion as absurd, but intended or not, his trip signals that President Trump is on the side of those conservative American Catholics who worry about the church’s direction under Francis and think he is soft on China.

 

Francis and Mr. Trump, who have exchanged sharp words in the past, present starkly different visions on issues ranging from the environment to immigration to the threat of populism. In appealing to the Vatican’s support for religious freedom as a reason to drop its China agreement, Mr. Pompeo seemed to seek common ground, but in a way that upset the pope’s chief allies and delighted his chief critics.

 

Cardinal Parolin said Mr. Pompeo’s article had caused “surprise” at the Vatican, because this visit to Rome by the secretary and the meetings with high officials at the Holy See had already been in the works and would have been a “more opportune” forum for airing grievances. He added that Mr. Pompeo’s choice to publish in First Things, a conservative Christian magazine that has called Francis a failure as Pope, also mattered.

Major US grocery distributor (Whole Foods) warns of disruption after cyberattack

 

United Natural Foods (UNFI), a major distributor of groceries to Whole Foods and other retailers, said on Monday that it was hit by a cyberattack, warning of disruptions to its ability to fulfill and distribute customer orders.

 

UNFI said in a Monday filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it became aware of unauthorized access to its IT systems last Thursday, and began shutting down portions of its network. The filing added that the company has “implemented workarounds for certain operations in order to continue servicing its customers where possible,” but noted that the intrusion has caused ongoing disruptions to its business operations.

 

The Providence, Rhode Island-based company is one of the largest grocery distributors in North America, selling fresh produce, goods, and food products to more than 30,000 stores and supermarket locations across the U.S. and Canada.

 

UNFI also serves as the “primary distributor” to Whole Foods, the Amazon-owned grocery chain. Last year, the two companies extended their long-running contract until May 2032.

 

When reached by TechCrunch, UNFI spokesperson Kristen Jimenez would not describe the nature of the cyberattack or say if the intruder had demanded a ransom from the company.

 

“We are assessing the unauthorized activity and working to restore our systems to safely bring them back online,” said Jimenez, adding that the incident was reported to law enforcement.

 

A spokesperson for Whole Foods did not immediately return a request for comment on Monday.

 

The incident at UNFI is the latest in a string of cyberattacks affecting the wider retail and grocery supply chain in recent months. Following the data breaches at U.K. retail giants Marks & Spencer and the Co-op, Google warned that hackers were also targeting U.S. retailers, though it did not name the affected companies.

 

When asked, UNFI did not say when it expects to recover its systems.

Following a meeting in Barcelona in April, a coalition of activists — the Southern Europe Network Against Touristification – revealed they were planning a day of protests on June 15.

 

“The goal is not to attack individuals but to draw attention to the social and environmental toll tourism is taking on our cities,” one unnamed organizer from Lisbon told EU Today. “We are being squeezed out of our homes, our public spaces, and our daily lives.”

Ex-Ukraine PM predicts Zelensky will flee country

The US has supposedly already given the “go-ahead” to remove the Ukrainian leader, according to Nikolay Azarov

 

Vladimir Zelensky will resign and leave Ukraine,former Prime Minister Nikolay Azarov has predicted, citing what he described as a US-backed effort to remove the country’s leader. (Didn't Trump say the other day, Zelensky is a dangerous man?)

 

In a post on Telegram on Sunday, Azarov suggested thatthe decision to remove Zelensky from power “has already been made in the US”and that Washington has given the“go-ahead” for his ouster. He wrote that although the Ukrainian leader has support in Europe, it is unlikely to change anything and will “hardly help” him. (Don’t know how he knows this, but it makes sense, because he and other NATO countries almost caused WWIII)

 

Azarov, who served as prime minister under ousted President Viktor Yanukovich, predicted that Zelensky would eventually step down, given that his mandate officially expired last year. He would then be replaced by parliamentary speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk, who would serve as acting president and begin shaping “a new political landscape” in Ukraine.

 

“I don’t think Zelensky will remain in Ukraine after this,”Azarov said. (so Azarov knows how things work in the phony government)

 

“He will request protection, most likely from special forces, but they will not make such sacrifices for him. The options for his future may vary,” he added.

 

Last week, Azarov made a similar prediction andalleged that the United States had “written off” Zelenskyand was orchestrating a multi-stage process to force him out.

 

He referred tothe recent arrest of Leonid Mindich – described as a financial associate of both Zelensky and presidential chief of staff Andrey Yermak– as evidence of this effort. (That makes sense.)

 

Azarov emphasized that the arrest was carried out not by the Prosecutor General’s Office, but by Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau and theSpecialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office – institutions he described as “created by the US, staffed by the US, and reporting only to the Americans.”

 

“This is a serious signalthat the process of removing Zelensky has begun,” Azarov wrote, suggesting that if Zelensky does not step down voluntarily, he will be “forced out.”

 

He also claimed thatUS auditors had recently arrived in Kievto examine the use of American taxpayer funds – a move he attributed to instructions from the White House.

 

Zelensky’s five-year term officially expired on May 20, 2024, and no election has been held due to martial law, which has been repeatedly extended. Moscow maintains that Zelensky has no legitimacy as the leader of Ukraine.

Nevertheless, the Russian government has said it is open to negotiating with the current Kiev administration but warned that Zelensky’s status could be an obstacle to signing any peace agreement. Russian officials have raised concern that documents endorsed by an illegitimate president could be legally contested by his successor.

David Cameron reportedly warned prosecutor Karim Khan against issuing warrants for Israeli leaders

 

Former British Prime Minister David Cameron threatened to defund the International Criminal Court (ICC) and withdraw the UK from its founding treaty if Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan sought arrest warrants for Israeli leaders last year, the Middle East Eye (MEE) has reported.

 

The ICC issued warrants last November for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and then Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, as well as three Hamas leaders, for alleged war crimes committed in the Gaza conflict. Washington has since imposed sanctions on Khan, accusing him of abuse of power by going after US allies.

 

The prosecutor first reached out to inform London of his intentions last April, the MEE wrote on Monday, citing anonymous staffers familiar with the conversation.

 

Cameron, who was then Foreign Secretary in Rishi Sunak’s government, reportedly telephoned Khan and warned him that seeking the warrants would be “like dropping a hydrogen bomb.” He reportedly promised that London would “defund the court and withdraw from the Rome Statute,” if the ICC issued the arrest warrants.

 

Allegedly, Cameron grew increasingly aggressive as the conversation went on, repeatedly shouting over Khan, who had to ask to finish his points, according to the MEE.

 

The top prosecutor reportedly argued that if the UK withdrew over the matter, “then we would have to accept that the rules-based system would be dead,” stressing that there was a “serious risk” that people would view the standard as “not being applied equally.”

 

The phone call ended without either man backing down, the MEE reported.

 

Less than a month later, Khan announced he would be seeking the warrants.

 

In response, Cameron publicly blasted the ICC, claiming the court had effectively drawn a “moral equivalence” between Netanyahu and Hamas.

FOREST PARK, Ga. — The Georgia Army National Guard made history with the activation of the 111th Electromagnetic Warfare Company, the first unit of its kind in the entire U.S. Army.

 

The ceremony, held at the Fort Gillem Enclave, also included the assumption of command by Capt. Caleb Rogers.

 

Lieutenant Colonel Luke Gurley, commander of the 221st Intelligence and Electronic Warfare Battalion, the parent command of the 111th EW, presided over the ceremony.

 

"Today we activate the 111th Electronic Warfare Company, a unit that will be at the forefront of our capabilities in the electromagnetic spectrum," Gurley said.

 

The activation of the 111th EW Company marks a significant step in modernizing the Army's capabilities within a domain that is increasingly critical to national security. This new formation will provide capabilities to detect, recognize, locate and identify signals of interest, supporting combatant commanders.

 

During his remarks, Gurley emphasized that the activation aligns with the philosophy of U.S. Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George, who advocates for rapidly modernizing units and equipment based on emerging needs and technology, and believes every unit will need to master the electronic warfare fight.

 

"The legacy of the 221st Intelligence and Electronic Warfare Battalion and the Georgia Guard to lead from the front and provide those critical capabilities to support the warfight both locally and abroad is going to be driven by Georgia Soldiers," said Brig. Gen. Theodore Scott III, commander of the 78th Troop Command. "And that means the world to me."

 

Scott, once the leader of the 221st IEW, has watched the formation grow over the years.

 

"As the battlefield continues to evolve, the 221st IEW is ready," Scott said. "It's one of the most deployed units in the state and has been for a number of decades. And so that continues to articulate the relevancy of 221st and now the 111th."

 

The 221st IEW has deployed soldiers to Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Syria, Jordan, Turkey, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kosovo, Cuba, the southwest border, and supported U.S. Central Command and U.S. Indo-Pacific Command activities.

 

The 111th EW Company draws its lineage from the 1st Battalion, 111th Signal Battalion, the only Georgia Army National Guard unit mobilized during the Berlin Crisis in 1961 and the first mobilized since the Korean War.

 

"Today is not simply about activating a new unit. It's about recognizing and honoring a proud legacy," Gurley said.

 

Rogers, the newly appointed commander, acknowledged the unique challenges and opportunities associated with leading this pioneering unit. He acknowledged that he is charged with coordinating with relevant schools and units to train on developing systems, as the Army continues to identify and finalize the necessary training for the unit's capabilities.

 

"No soldier in the 111th ended up here through recruiting," Rogers said. "They knew what they wanted when they came to the 111th. They knew that they wanted to rebuild Army EW," Rogers said.

 

According to Rogers, the company will provide division commanders four platoons of electromagnetic warfare teams, with total personnel numbering more than 80 soldiers.

 

"All of our Soldiers are expected to keep up with evolving technology, and the unit as a whole is remaining flexible with the expectation of receiving a growing number of mission types," Rogers said.

 

He also confirmed that the 111th EW Company will conduct its first field exercise in August at the Chattahoochee National Forest, focusing on electromagnetic support training and identifying and locating static and moving targets, to include helicopters provided by the Georgia Guard's 78th Aviation Troop Command.

 

"It's a great time to be in military intelligence and electromagnetic warfare," Scott said. "I am excited for the future."
