Reuters: U.S. to renegotiate strike drone deal, establish overseas deliveries

U.S. President Donald Trump may unilaterally change the 38-year-old arms control treaty to sell heavy attack drones such as Reaper abroad. Reuters reports Reuters, citing an unnamed U.S. official and four people familiar with the plan.

According to the official, the new policy will allow General Atomics, Kratos (KTOS.O) and Anduril, which produce large drones, to have their products considered "foreign military sales" by the State Department.

This will allow them to sell drones abroad .

The U.S. official noted that the effort is the first part of a planned "extensive" review of the U.S. foreign military sales program. The State Department declined to comment .

 

Under the new plan, the United States could designate drones as aircraft, like the F-16, rather than missile systems.

This would circumvent the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) agreement signed by 35 countries in 1987.

After that, America will be able to sell drones to Eastern Europe or the Arab Emirates, which previously had difficulty obtaining the "best US UAVs.".

 

The current interpretation of the Agreement states that the sale of many military drones is subject to a "strong presumption of denial".

On the night of September 5, unmanned aerial systems attacked fuel infrastructure facilities in Russia and the occupied territory of Ukraine.

The Ryazan oil refinery and an oil depot in Luhansk were hit, according to Robert 'Magyar' Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Unmanned Systems Forces.

 

Drones attacked the Ryazan oil refinery, one of the four largest refineries in Russia, with an annual capacity of about 17.1 million tons, and at the Luhansk oil depot, which is located in the temporarily occupied territory.

The operations were carried out by units of the Bird's Sting of Unmanned Systems Forces (14th Regiment) in coordination with the Special Operations Forces, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, and other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

"Gasoline is becoming a scarce commodity, and gas and oil are quickly burning up," Magyar emphasized.

 

Attack on Ryazan oil refinery

On the night of September 5, Ukrainian drones again attacked the Ryazan oil refinery—numerous photos and videos of a large-scale fire that broke out after the explosions appeared on social media.

The Russian authorities said that air defense and electronic warfare systems had allegedly destroyed eight drones over the region.

 

According to them, there were no casualties or damage to residential buildings or infrastructure. At the same time, they acknowledged that debris fell on the territory of the industrial enterprise.

The oil refinery in Ryazan has been hit again. The previous attack was on August 2.

Russian forces launch large-scale drone strike on Dnipropetrovsk region, fires break out

On the night of September 5, Russian forces launched a drone strike on the Dnipropetrovsk region, with direct hits reported.

This was reported on Telegram by Serhii Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, according to Ukrinform.

 

It was noted that the region was subjected to a large-scale drone attack during the night. Air defense forces successfully neutralized 15 of the drones.

“In Dnipro, the aggressor targeted an industrial facility. Fires broke out at the site, and emergency responders quickly moved in to extinguish them,” Lysak wrote.

One week from today on September 11th, I will be 70 years old. Never in my life of 35 years of marriage, a business owner for 32, home schooling my two children, with a Navy SEAL son and a marine husband, did I ever imagine I would end up in prison for following the law and doing what was right.

 

This should scare every citizen of this country. It shows how close we have come to losing this nation and our liberty that so many before us died to protect. But God chose you Mr. President, and each one of us that will rise up and answer the call.

 

Your good friend, Peter Ticktin, has requoted my standards for those that have once been close as a part of the story in my life. I’ve always said “if one could be swayed by four things: money, power, position, or fear, they can be compromised. What you do when no one is looking defines your character.”

As a business owner, I knew we needed you to become our president. I never wavered, even when there were 17 candidates. God has his protection over you, as you know, and we are all grateful you took his call. He prepared you for this, and he has prepared me for this.

 

Nevertheless, I’m ready to be released because the midterms are close. I feel like a racehorse held back by the starting gate. We don’t have much time. We cannot allow the continued selection of governors, secretaries of state, attorneys general, and fraudulent passage of blils and laws because of the voting machines I exposed. I want to finish the job we started.

 

I cannot allow Jena Griswold to be the attorney general of Colorado, or crooked Phil Weiser to be the governor, and many more need to be displaced in this state, country, and in many nations across the world because the voice of the people has been stolen.

 

The rally cry of God’s chosen people to stand up and step forward has never been greater.

Please set me free to champion that call to the people. Use my voice, the reason they put me in prison, to be the clarion call. I didn’t raise a Navy SEAL for nothing.

Congress Advances Trump’s FY26 Defense Bill Restoring Warrior Ethos, Ending Wokeism, and Securing the Border

The FY26 NDAA fulfills President Trump’s pledge to end wokeism in the military by eliminating DEI programs, banning CRT, and requiring promotions and academy admissions to be based solely on merit. It redirects over $1 billion from climate initiatives to strengthen combat readiness and restore the warrior ethos.

 

Both the Senate and House Armed Services Committees have approved the 2026 National Defense Acquisition Act, titled Peace Through Strength, but the bill has not yet become law. It must still pass floor votes in both chambers, move through a conference committee, and receive final approval before being signed by President Trump, likely toward the end of the year.

 

According to congressional summaries, the FY26 NDAA implements President Trump’s Peace Through Strength Agenda by codifying all or parts of 15 executive orders. These include Restoring America’s Fighting Force (EO 14185), Ending Radical and Wasteful Government Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Programs (EO 14151), and Declaring a National Emergency at the Southern Border (Proclamation 10886).

 

Other measures include Securing Our Borders (EO 14165), Clarifying the Military’s Role in Protecting the Territorial Integrity of the United States (EO 14167), Modernizing Defense Acquisitions and Spurring Innovation in the Defense Industrial Base (EO 14265), The Golden Dome for America (EO 14186), Deploying Advanced Nuclear Reactor Technologies for National Security (EO 14299), Restoring American Airspace Sovereignty (EO 14305), and Unleashing American Drone Dominance (EO 14307).

 

The bill fully funds the establishment and enforcement of National Defense Areas along the southwest border and authorizes deployment of National Guard and active-duty troops in support of Border Patrol operations. It also permits DoD to contract private companies for Customs and Border Protection support.

 

Over $900 million is dedicated to countering drug trafficking, including $398 million for DoD counter-narcotics operations and $116 million for National Guard counter-drug programs, reinforcing the principle that border security is national security.

 

Under Restoring Lethality and the Warrior Ethos, the NDAA eliminates DEI offices, CRT teaching, and climate programs across the Department of Defense, replacing them with priorities focused on warfighting readiness. All military promotions, accessions, command decisions, and service academy admissions must follow merit-based criteria, with race and ethnicity no longer allowed as factors.

The bill also strengthens accountability outside the ranks. It prohibits Pentagon funding for colleges and universities that tolerate antisemitic demonstrations and blocks DoD contracts with advertising firms, such as NewsGuard, that blacklist conservative outlets.

 

In addition, the NDAA codifies more than 30 legislative provisions requested by the Trump Administration. These include revising national missile defense policy to reflect the Golden Dome, extending expiring bonus and special pay authorities, expanding joint task force authorities, providing DoD support to secure U.S. airspace and maritime domains, and extending counter-ISIS authority.

 

The FY26 NDAA carries out Trump’s Peace Through Strength Agenda by building a ready, capable, and lethal fighting force. It expands DoD authorities for border security, reforms the acquisition process to speed delivery of new technologies, and provides a 3.8 percent pay raise and improved benefits for military families.

 

Funding is authorized for Trump’s top priorities, including the Golden Dome, F-47 fighter aircraft, submarines, warships, and autonomous systems. It revitalizes the defense industrial base, grows American defense manufacturing jobs, and strengthens onshoring of supply chains.

 

The act identifies over $20 billion in savings, including $15 billion from DOGE-initiated reforms in Trump’s budget. It reforms civil service laws governing DoD civilian hiring and firing, expands Indo-Pacific readiness, and extends authorities to eliminate terrorist threats. It also codifies Trump’s executive orders promoting energy independence and deploying new nuclear power technologies.

 

Finally, the NDAA cuts red tape by shifting defense acquisition from compliance to rapid, cost-effective fielding of capabilities. It reduces decision timelines from nearly three years to as few as 90 days, empowers program executive officers with full oversight of programs, and strengthens the role of Product Support Managers to ensure sustainment is integrated early, preventing costly readiness failures.

 

In addition to making the military stronger, the FY26 NDAA saves taxpayers more than $20 billion, including $15 billion in DOGE-initiated savings outlined in President Trump’s budget request.

 

These savings come from a wide range of cuts: $40.5 million from eliminating DEI activities, $1.6 billion from climate change-related programs, $1.2 billion by retiring obsolete weapons systems, $6.8 billion through reductions in Pentagon bureaucracy, $5.5 billion from trimming consulting and service contracts, and $5 billion from eliminating inefficient defense programs.

 

Under the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Pete Hegseth, the U.S. military is once again a lean, mean, fighting machine.

French president Emmanuel Macron had on Thursday hosted a 'coalition of the willing' on Ukraine in Paris, involving 26 nations which have declared readiness to get directly engaged in providing security guarantees for a post-war order.

 

The plan will reportedly be finalized with US approval, as American forces are sought to 'backstop' the plan, including possibly by air. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin has reiterated in Friday comments that any Western troops in Ukraine would become legitimate targets, even in the scenario of enforcing a peace deal.

 

Speaking before the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Putin described that "The West’s dragging of Ukraine into NATO was one of the causes of the conflict. If any troops show up now, while the hostilities are ongoing, we would consider them legitimate military targets," according to state media translation.

 

"If decisions are made that result in long-term peace, then I simply see no sense in such a presence," he clarified further. "Nobody should doubt that Russia would implement the agreed terms fully. We will respect security guarantees that both Russia and Ukraine need to be offered."

 

Putin additionally complained that despite all of these Western meetings and talk of security guarantees, none of these things have been directly discussed with Moscow - which remains an essential if there's hope of ending the war.

 

The Kremlin's position is certainly nothing new, and so it seems as usual that the two sides are talking past each other. Some analysts read it as the more hawkish Europeans putting up yet more obstacles to peace. One such example is featured in The Guardian as follows:

 

Finland’s president Alexander Stubb said president Donald Trump in a call with European leaders on Thursday suggested the US and Europe should act together on further sanctions against Russia, and that sanctions on oil and gas were up for discussion.

 

“Trump’s approach was very much that we must act together on sanctions policy and now look for ways in particular to halt Russia’s war machine by economic means,” Stubb told Finnish media after the meeting, Reuters reported. “In that case there are two targets, namely oil and gas. Musk supported Trump in the 2024 election and temporarily served as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) before the two had a public falling-out over the president’s “Big Beautiful Bill” spending package.

 

According to the US president,the billionaire is “80% super genius and then 20% he's got some problems.” Trump also stated that he has “always” liked Musk and continues to think of him favorably. (Oh well, Musk will see the 20%, and he's probably fuming. Jennings has said before, he's convinced they will be friends again, Trump dashed that hope)

 

Trump nonetheless maintained that Musk’s ambition to create a new US political party would prove fruitless. “What's he going to do? After resigning from DOGE, the billionaire announced he would start his own political faction to challenge the two-party system and field candidates in the 2026 midterms. Last month, he doubled down on his plan, shooting down a Wall Street Journal piece claiming he had abandoned the idea.

 

He ventured at one point that his America Party would concentrate on the US Congress ahead of the 2026 midterms “but backing a candidate for president is not out of the question.”

 

Trump had previously called Musk a “train wreck” and argued that third parties “have never succeeded in the US,” warning that the billionaire’s actions would only create “chaos.”

 

Speaking about the falling-out with Musk on Wednesday, Trump said that the tech entrepreneur “went off the reservation, and he wished he didn't do it.” Musk has not commented yet on the president’s conciliatory words.

According to the military, the building was being used by Hamas as operational infrastructure, including underground facilities that were utilized to plan attacks, stage ambushes against IDF forces and provide escape routes for terror operatives.

 

The announcement confirmed an earlier statement from Defense Minister Israel Katz, who said Israel had issued its first formal evacuation notice to residents of a multi-story building in the city ahead of an impending strike.

“The bolt is now being removed from the gates of Hell in Gaza,” Katz posted on X. “Once the door is opened, it will not be closed, and IDF operations will intensify — until Hamas’s murderers and rapists accept Israel’s conditions for ending the war, first and foremost the release of all hostages and disarmament — or be destroyed.”

 

Katz posted his statement as the IDF expanded its ground offensive into Gaza City, with politicians framing the campaign as a decisive maneuver aimed at breaking Hamas’s remaining strongholds.

Alongside the announcement, media outlets in Gaza reported that the IDF struck the Al-Mushtaha tower in Gaza City three times.

Footage showed a heavy cloud of smoke at the site after residents were called to evacuate. It was unclear whether there were any casualties in the incident.

 

Arej Ahmed, a 50-year-old displaced Palestinian who lives in a tent in the southwest of Gaza City, told AFP that her husband “saw residents of the Mushtaha Tower throwing their belongings from the upper floors to take them and flee before the strike.”

“Less than half an hour after the evacuation orders, the tower was bombed,” she said by telephone.

 

Israel, she added, “orders the residents of towers to evacuate, claiming it wants to avoid civilian casualties. But what about us — hundreds of thousands of displaced civilians in the tents surrounding these buildings?”

The military stressed that it issues warnings to residents and employs precision strikes to reduce the risk to civilians, while again accusing Hamas of using Gaza’s civilian population as human shields.

According to the military’s announcement, intelligence revealed that Hamas had embedded sniper and anti-tank positions, surveillance systems, command-and-control centers and observation posts inside residential buildings, while also planting explosives nearby to ambush Israeli forces.

 

Additionally, the terror group’s tunnels are said to run beneath and around these buildings. The IDF said the sites pose a direct threat to its troops as operations in Gaza City expand, and therefore will be struck soon.

Earlier Friday, Hamas-run authorities in Gaza said 19 people were killed in a series of Israeli strikes in and around Gaza City. When contacted by AFP, the IDF requested timeframes and coordinates to comment on specific incidents.

IDF spokesperson Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin said Thursday that Israeli forces now control roughly 40 percent of the city and intend to push further in the coming days as part of the broader plan to seize full control.

IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has repeatedly warned in private forums that the Gaza City operation will endanger the hostages, and has reportedly urged the government to accept the phased deal that Hamas said it had agreed to, shortly after Israel declared it would only accept a deal for all the hostages to be released at once.

 

IDF announces Hamas money man killed

Meanwhile, the IDF also announced Friday that troops working with the Shin Bet security agency earlier this week killed Nur al-Din Dabbaghsh, a Hamas operative who managed finances for the group’s military arm.

Dabbaghsh was accused of collecting and transferring tens of millions of dollars to the terror group during the war, money that Israel says funded weapons and operations, and helped sustain the organization’s fighting capabilities.

The military also said its forces continued to strike Hamas infrastructure and operatives across the Gaza Strip, targeting sites both above and below ground while intensifying pressure on Hamas’ military wing.

 

In northern Gaza, forces from the 99th Division reported destroying anti-tank missile launch sites, a weapons storage facility, and additional infrastructure, while soldiers from the Nahal Brigade killed several Hamas operatives in clashes nearby.

Elsewhere, Givati Brigade troops and the 401st Armored Brigade, operating under 162nd Division, continued advancing in the Jabalia area and elsewhere on the outskirts of Gaza City, where they have eliminated terrorists, dismantled explosives and destroyed further Hamas positions.

 

Egypt says won’t allow mass displacement of Palestinians

As Israel’s offensive in Gaza City widens, Egypt has said it will not tolerate mass displacement of Palestinians and repeated its charge on Friday that Israel is committing genocide, as thousands of residents of Gaza City defied Israeli orders to leave.

“Displacement is not an option and it is a red line for Egypt and we will not allow it to happen,” Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty told Reuters in Nicosia on Friday.

“Displacement means liquidation and the end of the Palestinian cause and there is no legal or moral or ethical ground to evict people from their homeland,” he said.

 

He continued, “What is happening on the ground is far beyond the imagination. There is a genocide in motion there, mass killing of civilians, artificial starvation created by the Israelis.”

Israel adamantly rejects the accusations that it is causing starvation in Gaza and committing a genocide there, saying it makes efforts to facilitate humanitarian assistance and to avoid civilian casualties.

It blames Hamas for fighting among civilian populations and accuses it of stealing aid.

 

The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry says more than 64,000 people in the Strip have been killed or are presumed dead in the fighting so far, though the toll cannot be verified and does not differentiate between civilians and fighters.

Israel says it has killed over 22,000 combatants in battle as of August and another 1,600 terrorists inside Israel during the October 7 onslaught.

Israel has said it seeks to minimize civilian fatalities and stresses that Hamas uses Gaza’s civilians as human shields, fighting from civilian areas including homes, hospitals, schools, and mosques.

NBC News reported shocking interviews with a dozen federal court judges who hid behind anonymity to attack the Supreme Court for overturning their anti-Trump decisions, accusing the conservative dominated Supreme Court of undermining the judiciary.

 

This is the latest in an ongoing battle this year between anti-Trump Resistance judges on the federal bench using their rulings to enact their preferred policies and the Supreme Court trying to rein them in under constitutional order.

 

With Republicans holding the White House and both houses of Congress, Democrat activists are using their allies on the federal bench to obstruct and delay actions by the Trump administration to aggressively reform the government and rollback decades of entrenched liberal policies.

 

The attack by the anonymous judges comes the same week as one federal judge went on the record to criticize the Supreme Court in a footnote to a ruling, rejecting recent comments by Justice Neil Gorsuch accusing lower court judges of defying the Supreme Court.

 

In July, Attorney General Pam Bondi filed a complaint against resistance Judge James ‘Jeb’ Boasberg over comments he made in March to Chief Justice John Roberts questioning whether President Donald Trump would obey court orders.

 

Federal judges are frustrated with the Supreme Court for increasingly overturning lower court rulings involving the Trump administration with little or no explanation, with some worried the practice is undermining the judiciary at a sensitive time.

 

Some judges believe the Supreme Court, and in particular Chief Justice John Roberts, could be doing more to defend the integrity of their work as President Donald Trump and his allies harshly criticize those who rule against him and as violent threats against judges are on the rise.

 

In rare interviews with NBC News, a dozen federal judges — appointed by Democratic and Republican presidents, including Trump, and serving around the country — pointed to a pattern they say has recently emerged:

 

Lower court judges are handed contentious cases involving the Trump administration. They painstakingly research the law to reach their rulings. When they go against Trump, administration officials and allies criticize the judges in harsh terms. The government appeals to the Supreme Court, with its 6-3 conservative majority.

And then the Supreme Court, in emergency rulings, swiftly rejects the judges’ decisions with little to no explanation.

 

…The Supreme Court, a second judge said, is effectively assisting the Trump administration in “undermining the lower courts,” leaving district and appeals court judges “thrown under the bus.”

A federal judge’s ruling for Harvard on Wednesday was significant in rejecting the Trump administration’s attempt to exert financial control over the educational institution. But just as notable was a footnote in the ruling that directly called out Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch for his criticism of lower court judges.

 

“The Court is mindful of Justice Gorsuch’s comments in his opinion in APHA and fully agrees that this Court is not free to ‘defy’ Supreme Court decisions,” U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs wrote in the ninth footnote of her 84-page ruling. “APHA” refers to the high court’s shadow docket decision last month in National Institutes of Health v. American Public Health Association, in which the majority backed the Trump administration’s bid to cut NIH research grants.

 

The NIH case divided the justices to such an extent that five of them wrote separate opinions. Joined by fellow Trump appointee Brett Kavanaugh, Gorsuch’s separate opinion cited multiple recent cases in which he said lower court judges bucked clear high court precedent. “Lower court judges may sometimes disagree with this Court’s decisions, but they are never free to defy them,” he wrote, lamenting that his court’s interventions “should have been unnecessary.”

 

He concluded that the phenomenon, as he saw it, underscored “a basic tenet of our judicial system: Whatever their own views, judges are duty-bound to respect ‘the hierarchy of the federal court system created by the Constitution and Congress.’” He was quoting a 1982 Supreme Court ruling that warned of “anarchy” if lower court judges don’t follow high court precedent.

Congress reinforced this fact with the GENIUS Act, a law that hard-wires surveillance into stablecoins by forcing issuers to operate under bank-style oversight, AML regimes, and reserve mandates. The Israel Defense Forces announced this Friday that a senior Hamas operative responsible for managing the group’s military finances was killed earlier this week in Gaza.

According to the IDF, Nur al-Din Dabbaghsh, described as the “money manager” of Hamas’s military wing, oversaw the transfer of tens of millions of dollars that fueled the organization’s combat operations.

Security officials said the funds financed weapons, sustained infrastructure, and prolonged Hamas’s ability to wage war.

The operation, carried out in cooperation with the Shin Bet security agency, was part of Israel’s ongoing campaign to dismantle both the leadership and logistical backbone of Hamas.

 

Expanding operations across Gaza

Military officials said Israeli forces are intensifying pressure on Hamas by targeting operatives and infrastructure both above and below ground.

The elimination of Dabbaghsh underscores Israel’s efforts to choke off Hamas’s financial channels, which military officials say are as critical as weapons stockpiles.

“Every dollar denied to Hamas weakens its capacity to fight,” one defense source said.

The IDF has repeatedly stated that its campaign is aimed not only at degrading Hamas’s battlefield capabilities but also at severing the networks that enable the group’s survival in prolonged conflict.

EU Slaps Google With Massive €2.95 Billion Antitrust Fine

The European Commission has slapped Google with a €2.95 billion fine for abusing its dominance in the search advertising market through "self-preferencing" practices, according to a new Financial Times report. The EU ordered Google to end these behaviors within two months or risk a potential breakup. This marks one of the largest EU fines against a company, following the €4.12 billion Android fine in 2018.

 

EU competition chief Teresa Ribera warned Google to draw up a "serious remedy to address its conflicts of interest, and if it fails to do so, we will not hesitate to impose strong remedies."

 

Lee-Anne Mulholland, Google's global head of regulatory affairs, called the fine "unjustified" and said "it requires changes that will hurt thousands of European businesses by making it harder for them to make money."

 

The commission's investigation began around 2021, with formal charges issued in 2023. Brussels warned back then that the only solution for Google might be breaking up its ad-tech business.

 

Not since US v Microsoft, filed in 1998, has Silicon Valley been so threatened.

 

Meanwhile, in the US, Google earlier this week avoided a breakup order after a judge ruled against forcing divestitures of Chrome or Android. Instead, Google must share more data and stop exclusive distribution deals.

 

Even as Brussels and Washington ramp up antitrust actions against the tech giant, its New York-listed shares have gone parabolic this year.

B.C. Wildfire Service says civilian drone hit firefighting plane

The B.C. Wildfire Service says one of its firefighting aircraft has been struck by a civilian drone that was being illegally flown in restricted airspace.

It says the incident involved a bird dog plane that directs airtankers and other aircraft, and occurred during operations against a blaze in the Cariboo Fire Centre.

The service says such interference with its operations "poses significant risk" and anyone found flying drones in restricted areas faces penalties of up to $100,000 and up to one year in jail.

It did not say if the bird dog was damaged or if a culprit had been identified.

 

The service says unauthorized drones including the smallest models weighing less than 250 grams are banned within five nautical miles, or 9.3 kilometres, and 3,000 feet above active wildfires.

About 150 fires were burning across B.C. on Thursday, including eight on Vancouver Island.

One new fire was discovered Thursday west of Campbell River near Strathcona Provincial Park's western boundary; it was burning out of control as of 6 p.m.

The other seven fires are either under control or not expected to grow beyond their current boundaries.

 

About 35 fires are burning in the Cariboo Fire Centre in the province's central Interior.

Farther south, about 84 properties along the Coquihalla Highway are on alert and one other has been ordered to evacuate due to an intense wildfire that saw drivers go through showers of embers before the highway was shut down.

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District says the evacuation order and alerts are due to the Mine Creek fire, which has reached 19 square kilometres in size and is burning near the highway between Hope and Merritt.

The Coquihalla Highway was closed Wednesday in the stretch near the fire and remains shuttered between Hope and Merritt, with motorists advised to take highways 1 and 3 as alternatives.

 

Video shared on social media on Wednesday shows vehicles passing large trees engulfed in flames on both sides of the highway, before it was closed in the afternoon.

The wildfire service says the Mine Creek fire was displaying an intensity level of Rank 5 on a scale of six on Wednesday, indicating extremely vigorous surface fire activity or having an active crown fire.

However, the service says the level has since dropped to Rank 2 and 3 with a moderately vigorous surface blaze, although the fire's behaviour is expected to increase later in the day as temperatures rise.

"Yesterday, Sept. 3, record high temperatures and winds beyond those forecast resulted in Rank 5 fire behaviour on this incident," an update says.

 

"Accessing this fire has been challenging due to the terrain and multiple bridge washouts from previous flooding," the update adds. "Priorities are securing Highway 5 (Coquihalla) and the protection of infrastructure in the area."

B.C. Forests Minister Ravi Parmar warned on Wednesday that the province is expecting a rise in wildfire activity due to lightning in the forecast and recent high temperatures.

Metro Vancouver continues to be covered in haze from wildfires with an air quality warning in place for the Lower Mainland and Parmar said the situation could worsen in the next few days.

22 Chinese Nationals Charged In International Drug Trafficking Scheme

 

The Justice Department announced Wednesday a “first-of-its-kind” indictment against 22 Chinese nationals and three Americans for allegedly engaging in an international drug trafficking scheme targeting the United States.

 

An indictment handed down Wednesday from a federal grand jury in Ohio takes aim at dozens of defendants and four Chinese companies for a plot to ship drug-cutting agents, used to dilute the product and increase its volume to boost profits, from China into America. All the defendants are charged with conspiring with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of a fentanyl mixture and conspiring to launder money internationally.

 

“Today’s announcement marks a first-of-its-kind international operation for the FBI targeting the fentanyl plague that has killed tens of thousands of Americans and indicting the companies and individuals in mainland China that manufacture the precursor chemicals fueling the destruction of our communities,” FBI Director Kash Patel said.

 

Prosecutors say that the companies used a number of Chinese nationals “located overseas” to negotiate for payments for illegal cutting agents to drug traffickers in Ohio. Cutting agents are often added to illicit drugs like cocaine, heroin, and meth.

 

The Chinese companies targeted include Guangzhou Tengyue Chemical Company, Guangzhou Wanjiang Biotechnology Company, Hebei Hongjun New Material Technology Company, and Hebei Feilaimi Technology Company.

 

The Americans charged in the operation include 39-year-old Eric Michael Payne of Ohio and his 24-year-old girlfriend, Auriyon Tresan Rayford. Ciandrea Bryne Davis of Atlanta was also charged for her alleged role in using cryptocurrency to pay Chinese nationals associated with companies for the drug-cutting agents.

 

Payne is accused of purchasing several kilogram shipments of cutting agents from Chinese companies posing as legitimate pharmacies. He and the other Americans allegedly purchased at least 10 kilograms of fentanyl agents since 2022 that could be used in up to 150 kilograms of fentanyl mixture sold on the streets.

Russia preparing for ‘full participation’ in LA Olympics – minister

The next Summer Games are set to begin in the US in July 2028

 

The Russian Olympic team is preparing for full participation in the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles, Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyaryov told TASS on Thursday. The country’sathletes have gradually been returning to international competitionsafter years of Ukraine-related restrictions, following recommendations issued by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) shortly after the escalation of the conflict in February 2022.

 

“We are preparing to take part in the 2028 Olympic Games with a full roster,” Degtyaryov told TASS at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. “We will hold the second summer ‘Spartakiad’ with the strongest athletes,” he added, explaining that “these are our domestic qualifying competitions for the Olympics.”

 

Degtyaryov said Russia “will start looking at all the candidates” for the 2028 Games at next year’s domestic event.

 

The minister has previously condemned what he described as“discrimination”against Russian athletes who have been forced to participate under a neutral flag andbarred from competing under their national colorsin numerous sports.

 

Last month,Russian swimmers took home 18 medals from the 2025 World Aquatics Championshipsin Singapore in their first chance to competesince 2016, due to IOC sanctions. Competing under a neutral flag, the team won six golds and placed fourth overall in the medals table.

 

IOC president Kirsty Coventry, who was elected earlier this year, has said shestands against banning countries from the Olympicsover conflicts.

 

“Ultimately I believe that it’s best for our movement to ensure that we have all athletes represented,” she told Sky News in March, adding that she will open a “discussion” on allowing Russians at the Games once again.

EXCLUSIVE: Navy taps four aerospace primes to design autonomous drone wingmen

The US Navy has awarded contracts to four major aerospace prime contractors — Anduril, Northrop Grumman, Boeing and General Atomics — for “conceptual designs” for a carrier-based autonomous combat drone, according to a Navy document obtained by Breaking Defense.

Additionally, Lockheed Martin is under contract for the drone’s “common control,” according to a slide on Collaborative Combat Aircraft from the Navy’s program executive office for unmanned aviation and strike weapons, dated Aug. 20.

 

The contract awards, which previously were not publicly known, are the clearest sign that the Navy is moving forward with the concept of a “loyal wingman” aircraft that can operate from the deck of a carrier.

Both the Navy and Air Force have pursued the concept of CCAs, but while the Air Force put its program in the spotlight, the sea service’s own efforts have been largely shrouded in secrecy.

 

It is unclear how long the companies have been under contract and working on their CCA designs.

A Navy official told Breaking Defense that the document’s information concerning the four aerospace primes and Lockheed Martin “is accurate,” but did not provide further information.

A spokesperson for Anduril declined to comment. A spokesperson for Boeing deferred comment to the Navy. Spokespeople for Northrop Grumman did not provide comment before publication.

 

In a statement, Lockheed spokesperson Melissa Dalton confirmed the company is under contract for the common control system, specifically with the Skunk Works MDCX autonomy platform.

Dalton noted that the company tested the MDCX with a General Atomics MQ-20 Avenger last year, “advancing technology necessary for future Collaborative Combat Aircraft.”

General Atomics spokesman C. Mark Brinkley directed specific questions about the Navy’s CCA program to the service, but noted that the company rolled out notional designs for carrier-capable CCAs last summer.

Those concepts adapt the YFQ-42A design currently being tested under the Air Force’s program for shipboard operations, he said in a statement.

While the Navy and Air Force both have unique needs for a so-called “Collaborative Combat Aircraft,” in general, both concepts involve novel drones that will fly alongside the services’ fighter jets.

Rear Adm. Michael Donnelly, the flag officer on the chief of naval operations’ staff in charge of developing CCA requirements, has previously said the Navy is coordinating with the Air Force on development of common standards for elements like mission planning, but much of the work has been behind closed doors.

One of the unique requirements for the Navy for any CCA program will be the need for it to take off and land on an aircraft carrier. The service is already in the midst of perfecting autonomous carrier-based flights through its unmanned aerial tanker program, MQ-25.

Navy brass has been adamant that the MQ-25, which is designed by Boeing, will successfully fly from carriers in 2026.

 

The Navy may also be chasing a significantly cheaper price point than the Air Force of about $15 million per plane, compared to the $25 million to $30 million per aircraft cited by former Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall.

In April 2024 Rear Adm. Stephen Tedford, the Navy’s program executive for unmanned systems and weapons, said that cheaper price point would enable the service to use a single CCA multiple times for surveillance and strike missions before ending its lifespan as a one-way attack drone.

“I want something that’s going to fly for a couple hundred hours. The last hour it’s either a target or a weapon,” he said then. “But I’m not going to sustain them for 30 years.”

 

At the time, Tedford said the Navy was “in the process” of beginning analysis for a CCA program and intended for initial studies to focus on the payloads, sensors and mission systems that will be needed on drones, with fielding of drones slated for “the second half of this decade.”

Last November, the Navy conducted a demonstration where it used its Unmanned Carrier Aviation Mission Control Station (UMCS) to control a General Atomics MQ-20 Avenger.

The UMCS is based on Lockheed Martin’s MDCX autonomy platform, which was developed by its secretive Skunk Works unit.

 

Naval Air Systems Command called the test “part of an effort to advance technology for future Collaborative Combat Aircraft.”

As for the Air Force, the service previously selected General Atomics and Anduril to build and flight test prototype drones from an initial group of five contractors who participated in the program’s design phase.

 

General Atomics’ CCA variant, known as the YFQ-42A, has entered flight testing, the Air Force announced last week, while the Anduril drone, YFQ-44A, is “expected to enter flight testing in the near future,” a service spokesperson said previously.

The Air Force’s vision for the program, unveiled in fiscal 2024 as a multibillion endeavor, would see it initially field as many as 1,000 drones.

The service also intends to hold multiple iterations of the CCA competition to provide previous and new vendors a chance to bring new designs forward.

A list of 36 ships that have consistently supplied arms and fuel to Israel during its genocide in Gaza has been revealed by a coalition of activist groups.

At Shiloh, the Tabernacle was erected as the nation gathered to worship (Joshua 18:1), and it stood there for 369 years. The Hebrew prophets walked the hills of Judea and Samaria, and God declared, “They shall dwell in their land, which I gave to My servant Jacob” (Ezekiel 37:25).

 

To call this soil “occupied” is to try to erase Scripture itself. If we cannot claim Hebron, Shiloh, and Beit El, then what moral grounds do we have for Tel Aviv or Haifa? Judea and Samaria are not bargaining chips. They are the divine covenant etched in stone and earth.

 

Military advantage

Geography also makes annexation indispensable. Israel without Judea and Samaria is a nation exposed; its central plain is barely nine miles wide. From the hilltops of Samaria, terrorists could hold our population centers hostage with little more than mortars. And does anyone think they would not hesitate to do so?

The Jordan Valley is our natural shield to the east. Control over it ensures that weapons and militias do not pour in unchecked. To relinquish it would be to gamble with Israel’s survival.

 

International prejudice

When Jordan occupied Judea and Samaria during the War of Independence, almost no one objected. When Morocco absorbed Western Sahara and when Turkey entrenched itself in northern Cyprus, the world barely shrugged. Yet when Israel seeks to secure its ancestral patrimony, which was promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the international chorus of condemnation is deafening.

Luna says she views UFOs from "a Christian perspective" and Rep. Eric Burlison (R-MO), one of Luna's saucer-hunting cohorts, believes UFOs could be "angels" or "messengers of God".

Luna and her Congressional team have brought on several "witnesses" to testify about UFOs but these witnesses were mostly grifters and charlatans from the UFO entertainment industry who have books, podcasts, TV shows or movies to sell.

These "witnesses" provided lots of spooky stories, but zero evidence. It's been an all-around waste of taxpayer resources.

Undeterred (and unchallenged by the media), Luna has now invited George Knapp, the final boss of UFO grifting, as a "witness" to testify at her new UFO hearing on Sept 9th.

Knapp, the host of a late-night paranormal radio show, the author of several UFO books, and the star of a recent Netflix alien series, is a long-time celebrity in the UFO world.

Joining Knapp on Sept 9th as Congressional "witnesses" will be other UFO storytellers who've either appeared on Knapp's dubious UFO podcast or who are directly associated with Knapp.

It's going to be the George Knapp show - the final scene of a Hollywood movie years in the making.

And I mean that literally… Hollywood is currently in production on a movie about Knapp's life.

With red flags abound, I reached out to Sean Kirkpatrick, the former director of AARO, the Pentagon's "UFO office", for comment.

For 18 months, Kirkpatrick investigated all these UFO claims and released a damning report in 2024 debunking the main UFO personalities and most of their claims as inaccurate, misinformed or completely fraudulent.

The news media, of course, mostly ignored Kirkpatrick's report, choosing to instead continue publishing salacious alien clickbait nonsense.

Yoram Hazony Demands MAGA Fall In Line With MIGA at NatCon25

 

Yoram Hazony, the Israeli agent Benjamin Netanyahu dispatched to control the nationalist right in America and Europe, opened his speech at NatCon25 on Tuesday by declaring, "We're in power."

"I don't think [Trump] had even three months– I don't think he had two and a half months before many of our friends, these big podcasters," started complaining, he said.

 

"[They said Trump] was going to start World War III. He's being controlled. He's being manipulated. He's lost the thread. He doesn't believe in justice. He's covering up through the CIA," Hazony said, careful not to mention Jeffrey Epstein.

 

Hazony insisted everyone needs to rally behind Trump's (MIGA) administration and accept "that when you're in power, when you're in government, you have other responsibilities" that are "not the same as your responsibilities when you're in the opposition."

Seattle School Board primary: Who’s ahead in early count

A former Seattle School Board director could return to the dais later this year, based on the leaders in Tuesday’s primary. Altogether, six candidates will advance in three competitive Seattle School Board primaries. The top two vote-getters in each race advance to November’s general election.

 

In the crowded District 5 contest, Vivian Song, a finance professional and former school board director, was ahead of Janis White, an attorney, disability advocate and parent of Seattle Public School graduates, in a five-person race, though six names were on the ballot because one candidate dropped out late. Song led White by 72.3% to 16.4%. The district includes schools in Capitol Hill, Chinatown International District, First Hill, Leschi, Madison and the Central District.

 

In District 2, data scientist Kathleen Smith led with 44.8%. Sarah Clark, the current District 2 director, was running second, with 43.6%. The district includes Ballard, Green Lake, Phinney Ridge, Greenwood and Magnolia.

 

The leaders in District 4 were Joe Mizrahi, the current director, with 67.4%, and Laura Marie Rivera, with 18.4% of the Tuesday vote count. The district covers schools in Fremont, Queen Anne, South Lake Union and portions of downtown.

 

The leaders in those races will join the two candidates in District 7, which did not have a primary because only two people filed to run for the open seat to replace Brandon Hersey. Carol Rava, a parent and education nonprofit executive, and Jen LaVallee, a parent and product designer, will face each other in November.

 

Michelle Sarju did not seek reelection in District 5. Seventeen people initially filed to run for School Board, although by the time of the primary, 14 names were on the ballot, and only a dozen candidates remained in the races.

 

Ballots will continue to be counted for several days.

 

The fall could be a consequential one for Seattle Public Schools, which will start the new academic year Sept. 3 without a permanent replacement for outgoing Superintendent Brent Jones.

 

The seven-member School Board, with potentially up to four new directors, could play a pivotal role in shaping the district’s future as it reckons with long-standing concerns that were overshadowed during last year’s monthslong school closure debate.

 

The candidates in the primary largely agreed on many of the issues, including calls to prioritize academics, address shortcomings in special education services and ensure students across the city have access to similar programs and opportunities. Families and School Board directors also want the district to fix its enrollment processes.

 

The budget is another big challenge. The district’s finance staff has estimated annual shortfalls in the $100 million range in recent years. Citizen analysts have argued the deficit is lower.

Seven German opposition party candidates die weeks before elections

The “statistically conspicuous” deaths are “hard to explain,” AfD’s deputy head has said

 

Alternative for Germany (AfD) has reported what one of its senior members is calling a “statistically conspicuous” series of deaths among its candidates just weeks before local elections in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

 

A total of seven party members, includingfive main candidates and two “reserve” ones, have died over the past few weeks.

 

The deaths were reported by the right-wing opposition partybetween August 19 and September 3 – all before the local elections scheduled for September 14. The list included local AfD politicians aged between 42 and 80 in several municipalities across the region, according to the media. (Not sketchy at all==, AfD loses 7 candidates, just before the election.)

 

The party’s deputy regional chairman, Kay Gottschalk, told Die Welt TV that there was “no indication” of “murder or anything similar.” The police also said they had found no indication of any foul play, according to broadcaster ARD. The news has still prompted speculation on the internet. (The police and coroner, work for the current government/state, they can't be ruled out.)

 

The regional election committee has stated that it cannot find anything out of the ordinary.The committee is aware of a total of 16 deaths of candidatesfor the local elections, including members of a dozen political parties and associations, it said, adding that thenumbers had “not significantly increased”in comparison to other election cycles. (WTF, sounds kind of Nazi like.)

 

AfD candidates stillaccount for some 43% of all deathsreported by the committee, with all other affected political groups, eachconfirming just one candidate death.

 

An AfD deputy head and a Bundestag MP, Stephan Brandner, called the numbers “statistically conspicuous,” adding that they are “hard to explain.”

 

Some 20,000 seats will be up for grabs in the upcoming elections, according to Die Welt. The AfD party has steadily been gaining popularity in Germany. A poll conducted in mid-August suggested thatit had overtakenChancellor Friedrich Merz’s conservative bloc to become the country’s most popular.

 

The German domestic security service designated it a “confirmed far-right extremist” group in May, prompting the AfD to challenge the label in court. The country’s justice minister considered banning the party altogether later the same month.

I've had TB, It was detected with a full lung X-Ray. I wasn't showing symptoms but the guy I was with during a survey became ill and was diagnosed so I went for a check and I tested positive. The antibiotics were extreme and they absolutely must not be missed for any reason. The thing is, it needs to be taken for 3 months to ensure you are cured. Not a pleasant 3 months of my life but, thankfully, I was mostly knocked out by the medication. Its really strong! Israel Tells Hamas: Lay Down Arms, Free All Hostages - Or Gaza City Gets Leveled

 

Israel has once again given Hamas a tough ultimatum - release all the hostages and surrender or prepared to see Gaza City leveled - according to a new Thursday Times of Israel headline.

 

This came after Hamas declared its willingness to release all the hostages, based on a ceasefire proposal the group said it accepted two weeks ago. Hamas has said it will agree "to enter into a comprehensive deal in which all enemy prisoners held by the resistance will be freed in exchange for an agreed-upon number of Palestinian prisoners held by the occupation."

 

However, it made demands which Israel has consistently rejected - that all Israeli troops withdraw from the Gaza Strip, and that all border crossings be immediately opened for the arrival of aid.

 

Hamas further said it is ready to form "an independent national administration of technocrats" to run Gaza. But the Netanyahu government has quickly shot back that all hostages must be freed at once, and the group must disarm, and agree that it will no longer govern. Israel has said it will not accept Palestinian Authority governance either.

 

"This is more spin by Hamas, containing nothing new," Netanyahu’s office said. This means the Gaza City offensive will more than likely proceed and continue, given Hamas is not going to lay down its arms, which they will see as certain defeat, death or imprisonment.

 

Netanyahu has called for "the establishment of an alternative civilian administration that does not indoctrinate for terror, does not dispatch terror, and does not threaten Israel."

 

Meanwhile, even ahead of plans to take over the strip's largest city, Israeli's military had declared it controls about 40% of Gaza City.

 

It has been declared a combat zone, with civilians ordered out - particularly areas designated highly dangerous "red zones".

 

This week, Axios' global affairs correspondent Barak Ravid cited Israeli officials who say that the White House is ready to greenlight a Netanyahu-ordered seizure of West Bank Palestinian territory.

 

"Rubio has signaled to Israeli officials in private meetings that he does not oppose Israel's West Bank annexations and that the Trump administration will not stand in the way," wrote Ravid.

Now, I’ve been studying vaccines for over 50 years and my conclusion is that to say that any vaccine is 100% safe is like saying bombs never kill people or that no one has been killed in Gaza.

 

I suppose it all depends on how you define “safe” but I would argue that there isn’t a vaccine in the world which is 100% safe – though this isn’t the first time that such an absurd claim has been made on the BBC. (To be clear, my dictionary defines safe as “not likely to cause or lead to harm.”)

 

The big question is: “How does Mr Kinnock explain why governments around the world have paid out billions of dollars to families of vaccine-damaged patients?”

 

And why does his government pay out huge sums of money to those who have been damaged by vaccines if vaccines are 100% safe?

 

And what’s all this about “silencing” people?

 

Actually, I’m pretty well already silenced for the crime of telling the truth.

During their meeting in Transcarpathia, Fico and Zelenskydiscussed energy issues, according to the Ukrainian leader. “We are ready to supply gas and oil to Slovakiaif it is not Russian gas and not Russian oil. Because we have a war. Period,” Zelensky told journalists after the talks on Friday.

 

Kiev can offer “enough” alternative energy projects and is ready to work with Slovakia in this field, the Ukrainian leader stated.
