BLM sues Tides Foundation over missing $33M

 

The national Black Lives Matter movement claims $33.4 million of its cash is being withheld by one of its progressive partner organizations, The Post has learned.

 

In a scathing lawsuit, Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation accuse the Tides foundation — backed by George Soros — of alleged “deceptive business practices” as well as “egregious mismanagement” of its money, while demanding its return.

 

The lawsuit was filed last year, but the stakes were raised on Monday when the BLMGNF — which oversees its other regional operations — asked the California Attorney General to step in and investigate Tides.

Netanyahu also talked about the advantages of the defense agreement between Israel and the US, noting Israel’s historical advancements in the field of defensive weaponry.

He disclosed that Israel is developing offensive weapons with the US that no other superpower has. “The most advanced on the planet are developed by Israel and shared with America,” he said.

 

He added that Israeli intelligence had protected US citizens. “We prevented planes from being taken down by ISIS and terror attacks in the whole world.”

 

Netanyahu also said he thinks the end of the war in Gaza is near but emphasized that it cannot be done if Hamas stays in power once the ceasefire is established.

“I think we are close to the end of the war but not there yet,” he explained. “Exactly two years ago, the worst atrocities committed against Jews since the Holocaust happened. Everybody thought Israel was doomed. Two years later, we smashed the Iranian axis with most of their proxies.

“Israel emerged from this horrible day as the strongest power in the Middle East, but we still have things to do to complete the mission. What started in Gaza will end in Gaza with the release of 46 of our hostages, 20 of them who are still alive, and with the end of Hamas rule.”

The number of hostages the prime minister stated is incorrect, as there are 48 left in Gaza as of Tuesday.

Mechanics working on Navy F/A-18s stripped radio cables from some jets to repair others because the parts were only available "on the schedule" of the original manufacturer.

 

The U.S. Navy’s maintainers have had to strip submarines and fighter jets for spare parts to repair other planes and subs, a government watchdog found. In at least one case, mechanics repairing a Navy fighter jet could not repair a radio because the cables needed for the job were only available from the manufacturer.

 

“Only that vendor can make the part, and generally, repairs to that part are made on the OEM’s schedule,” the Government Accountability Office found in a report released late last month. “Officials considered reverse engineering the part or contracting to stock spare parts, but determined both options would be too costly. Maintainers, therefore, have resorted to cannibalizing grounded aircraft for the part.

 

The Government Accountability Office found that limited intellectual property and data rights, coupled with delays in the availability of parts, were forcing technicians to develop ad-hoc methods, including cannibalizing equipment to help keep certain vehicles mission-ready.

 

The GAO found that the Department of Defense did not fully review the data rights it has to certain intellectual property, leading to issues in maintaining weapons systems. Business Insider first reported on the GAO’s findings. The watchdog examined five Navy contracts — the F/A-18 and F-35 fighter jets, littoral combat ships, the Stryker Combat Vehicle, and Virginia-class attack submarines — to see how they were handling maintenance for the systems. The watchdog found that Navy mechanics and crews faced ongoing delays, mainly stemming from a lack of spare parts due to limited sourcing options.

 

“Cannibalization has several adverse impacts, including increasing maintenance costs and workload, and when overused, long-term adverse effects on aircraft availability,” the report found.

 

Navy maintainers were also cannibalizing parts from other submarines to fix Virginia-class submarines, to avoid delaying repairs while waiting for spares to be sent by manufacturers.

ECB boss warns EU against seizing Russian assets

The European Commission has proposed using the frozen funds to guarantee loans to Kiev

 

Any EU move touse frozen Russian state assets to support Ukraine must comply with international law, European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde said on Monday, adding that the institution was following the process closely.

 

The comment comes as EU nations’ leaders are discussing a plan to provide Kiev with a €140 billion ($164 billion) loan backed by Russia’s immobilized central bank assets.

 

The scheme, designed to avoid the legal hurdle of outright confiscation, would invest the blocked Russian funds into EU-backed bonds. The proceeds would then be used to pay off a “reparations loan” to Ukraine.

 

“We very much expect that any scheme that is discussed and eventually introduced at some point in time will be done in accordance with international rules, with international law,” Lagarde told a parliamentary hearing in Strasbourg, according to Reuters.

 

The ECB chief has expressed concern that alegally contentious move could undermine the euro’s credibility, deter investment in euro-denominated assets, and pose a risk to financial stability.

 

“From my vantage point, and with in mind financial stability and the strength of the euro, we will be looking very attentively to make sure that what is proposed is in accordance with international law (and) is mindful of financial stability,” Lagarde said.

 

Proceeds from matured bonds, in which frozen Russian assets were invested following the 2022 escalation of the Ukraine conflict, are now held at Belgium’s Euroclear.

 

The depository holds approximately two-thirds of the $300 billion in Russian sovereign assetsimmobilized by Western nations.Lagarde has warned that any further action requires consensus among all jurisdictions holding such assets.

 

The EU has transferred over a billion from interest to Kiev so far. Some of the bloc’s members, however, continue to voice concerns about the legal risks associated with such a step.

 

Last week, Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever said his country would not agree to an EU plan that leverages frozen Russian central bank assets to fund loans for Ukraine without firm guarantees of shared financial responsibility.

 

French President Emmanuel Macron said last month that central bank assets cannot be seized without harming “credibility,” while Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov called the EU plan “theft” and warned those responsible “will be subjected to legal prosecution.”

During September 2025, officers of the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) appeared before the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Corporations and Financial Services. The subject matter primarily focused on a penalty of $240 million imposed on the ANZ Bank for a series of contraventions, including market manipulation and unconscionable conduct, over a two-year period.

 

The offences related to multiple issues, from dubious handling of government bond sales to charging fees to deceased customers.

 

Tania Lawrence MP and Senator Barbara Pocock noted that the penalty was to be levelled against ANZ as an entity, and they pressed the ASIC officers about why offending individuals were not being identified and pursued. Ms Lawrence observed that ANZ had fired certain individuals who signed non-disclosure agreements on exiting.

 

The committee members wanted to know whether ASIC had sought to learn whether the terms of their NDAs might provide insight into who was accountable for some of the ANZ contraventions.

 

The Australian Financial Review’s Angira Bharadwa reported ($) that ANZ chair Paul O’Sullivan claimed the Commonwealth had not lost money as a result of the contraventions, a claim contradicted by ASIC chair Joe Longo, who indicated a loss in the order of $26 million had been incurred.

 

As the departing ASIC chair, Mr Longo made reference in various answers to problematic issues around intentionality when pursuing individuals for misconduct, and also suggested that the many thousands of employees, past and present, at a bank the size of ANZ made it very difficult to pin fault and intention on particular individuals, even where the contraventions relate to repeated contraventions supposedly rectified following the Banking Royal Commission of 2017-19, a point made by Ms Lawrence.

State of WA appeals $2.8 million compensation payment to Dion Barber for abuse in state care

 

The state of WA is appealing a court judgement that gave a record $2.8 million compensation payment to a man who suffered repeated sexual abuse while in state care during the 1980s and 1990s.

 

Dion Barber was last month awarded almost $2.85 million by a District Court judge for the abuse he suffered as a child, in what has been described as the biggest damages award to a survivor of sexual abuse in the state.

 

But documents filed to the Supreme Court show the state is appealing the court's decision.

 

Mr Barber, who is now in his 40s, was a ward of the state when he was abused by his stepfather.

 

He was temporarily removed form the man's care, then sent back to live in the same house with him, where he suffered further abuse.

 

Other adults also abused him throughout his later years in care.

 

Following a civil trial earlier this year, Judge Linda Black found that Mr Barber was a "credible witness", and the instances of abuse he described did occur.

 

She awarded Mr Barber $2,846,900

 

Mr Barber said he was disappointed by the state's appeal.

 

"I spent four years during this case, and four weeks during the trial fighting to be heard," he said.

 

"I was finally listened to and believed by the judge."

"The judge found the department failed to look after me when I was in their care and I was abused."

 

Mr Barber said he had hoped the state "would finally accept some responsibility".

 

"I had just wanted to move on with my life and try and put this behind me," he said.

 

"Survivors shouldn't be tortured like this."

Mr Barber's legal counsel has filed a cross appeal, though the grounds are yet to be determined.

 

State must act responsibly, premier says

WA Premier Roger Cook said it was not the government's appeal.

 

"Obviously in these situations, we utilise an insurance arm of government, which operates independently," he said.

 

"They in turn engage lawyers, so it's very much at arm's length.

The Red Door Project Earns FBI Community Leadership Award

 

Special Agent in ChargeKieran L. Ramsey has presented the leaders of Red Door Project with the FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award(DCLA) for their extraordinary contributions to violence prevention and education efforts in Oregon.

 

Red Door Project is one of 56 recipients from across the country chosen to receive the prestigious award. The FBI established the DCLA in 1990 to publicly acknowledge the achievements of those working to make a difference in their communities through the promotion of education and the prevention of crime.

Awkward moment Penny Wong was left speechless when she was asked a very simple question about ISIS brides returning to Australia

 

Foreign Minister Penny Wong has refused to answer questions about bringing Australian women linked to terrorist group Islamic State back into the country.

 

Accusations of a 'cover up' around the issue have been levelled since the fiery Senate estimates showdown in which Wong and senior officials from the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C) stonewalled attempts to get answers.

 

They would not be drawn on how many 'ISIS brides' are back on Australian soil and when the public would be told if they were. The grilling followed reports six women and their children stuck in Syrian detention camps had slipped back into the country.

 

The group reportedly fled Syria and travelled to Beirut where they were detained for not having valid visas. They were issued Australian passports after DNA and security checks.

 

Liberal Senator James Paterson asked Wong when Anthony Albanese was briefed about the group before he dismissed in Parliament on September 3 reports they had been repatriated.

 

'Presumably, if the Prime Minister was able to say in Question Time that those reports were not accurate, that sometime prior to the 3rd of September, he was briefed on the possible return of ISIS brides to Australia,' he said.

 

Wong refused to answer.

 

'Everything after 'presumably is your hypothetical, so I'm not responding to it,' she said.

Virginia Motorist Films Mystifying UFO

A motorist in Virginia nearly stopped in their tracks when they spotted a mystifying UFO moving across the sky.

The peculiar sighting, submitted to the National UFO Reporting Center, occurred on Sunday morning as the witness was driving in the suburban community of Midlothian.

"I happened to notice a shiny object in the sky," they recalled, "at first briefly ignoring it, I quickly did a double-take and realized it did not appear to be an animal, aircraft, or anything else that I would commonly observe."

The movement of the UFO was particularly perplexing to the witness as it was unlike any "other airborne objects," such as planes, drones, or balloons, that they had previously seen.

 

The sighting was so compelling that the motorist "quickly pulled over" so that they could get a better look at the object that appeared to be a metallic sphere or cube, depending on the angle at which it was observed.

The witness also managed to capture the strange scene with their cell phone, providing a pair of videos (seen above) to go along with their intriguing account.

To their credit, the driver dutifully checked a flight tracking app to see if it might offer some explanation for the UFO, but found that there was nothing in the area that could account for the curious object.

Trump calls on Google to bring back Univision to YouTube TV, calls it ‘very bad’ for GOP ahead of midterms

Portraying Univision as a crucial political tool for Republicans, President Donald Trump is publicly pressing Google to restore access to Univision on the YouTube TV streaming platform.

 

YouTube TV dropped Univision’s channels almost a week ago when the two companies could not reach an agreement about a new carriage contract.

 

Having the leading Spanish language broadcaster in the United States blacked out on YouTube TV “is VERY BAD for Republicans in the upcoming Midterms,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Saturday night.

 

Trump urged Google, “for the purpose of FAIRNESS,” to “please let Univision back!”

 

The post was another example of Trump publicly pressuring a media company — this time one of the biggest in the world, YouTube, which has billions of monthly users.

 

YouTube, for its part, told CNN on Sunday that “we remain open to negotiating an agreement that reflects their performance on YouTube TV. Until then, their content remains unavailable on YouTube TV.”

 

As that statement indicates, TV carriage negotiations are usually legal and PR battles. But Univision has sought to make this one a political battle, as well, enlisting support from numerous lawmakers, and now the president.

 

“Thank you very much President Trump for recognizing the impact of Univision and the importance of Hispanics,” Televisa Univision CEO Daniel Alegre wrote on social media while highlighting Trump’s post.

 

“We take pride in Univision representing the voice of Hispanic America,” Alegre said. “It is our priority to bring Univision back to YouTube TV.”

 

YouTube TV is a fast-growing alternative to traditional cable and satellite packages, providing a recognizable bundle of channels for a monthly fee.

 

YouTube TV indicated its lack of a new carriage deal with Univision is due to the company’s unrealistic demands.

 

“TelevisaUnivision has over 160 million subscribers and billions of views across YouTube, where they generate ad revenue from their content,” a spokesperson said. “On our paid live TV subscription service, YouTube TV, however, TelevisaUnivision only represents a tiny fraction of overall consumption.”

 

Trump’s apparent concern is more personal.(WTF, why does CNN let Stelter write anything, he's always going to lie or make up conspiracy theories.)

 

“They were so good to me with their highest rated ever political Special, and I set a Republican Record in Hispanic voting,” he wrote in Saturday’s post, viewing Univision as a key campaign asset.

 

Univision values its relationship with the president, too. The network has warmed up to Trump from a corporate perspective as its owners have pursued what some have called a more centrist approach.

 

The timing of Trump’s message to YouTube was striking because the platform struck a settlement agreement with Trump just a few days ago,resolving a lawsuit Trump filed after he was suspended by social media platforms following the January 6, 2021, insurrection. Stelter LIAR

Claremont Institute

 

The Claremont Institute is a conservative think tank based in Upland, California. The institute was founded in 1979 by four students of Harry V. Jaffa. It produces the Claremont Review of Books, The American Mind, and other publications.

 

The institute was an early defender of Donald Trump. After Joe Biden won the 2020 United States presidential election and Trump refused to concede, Claremont Institute senior fellow John Eastman aided Trump in his failed attempts to overturn the election results. PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The leader of Portland’s Federal Bureau of Investigation, Kieran L. Ramsey, is leaving the local office for a position at the national level.

 

Ramsey, who’s served as the Portland field office’s special agent in chargesince January 2021,will be starting a position as an assistant FBI director in Washington, D.C. next year. In his new role, he said he’ll be “reporting back to the FBI headquarters” on a “myriad of national security issues.”

According to information obtained by KOIN 6’s Ken Boddie,Ramsey will be one of 30 assistant directors nationwide.

 

He first joined the FBI as a special agent in 1998. So far in his career, the agent’s focus has been on counterterrorism, hostage recovery, public corruption and organized crime.

 

More recently in Portland, he’s handled bomb threats that targeted school districts, synagogues and airports across the state.

Throughout Ramsey’s Portland tenure, Boddie reported the local FBI made 542 arrests and 312 convictions. He also noted that officials recovered 366 weapons and rescued 115 children from instances of sex trafficking, human trafficking and abuse.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)covertly infiltrated the 2020 Black Lives Matters protests in Portland and continued their surveillance months after the unrest.

 

Agents of the FBI stood "shoulder to shoulder" with activists, videotaping the demonstration and leading the local police towards potential arrests, according to aNew York Times report.

 

In the wake of the murder of George Floyd by a police officer in Minneapolis, thousands took to the streets to protest against racial injustice. During the protest, a clash between right-wing and leftist crowds in downtown Portland grew violent, leading to one death.

 

Authorities have reportedly arrested over 1,000 people during the course of the protests and over 200 people ultimately faced criminal prosecution.

 

The federal agents were initially deployed in Portland in July 2020 to protect a courthouse after protesters vandalised windows and set things ablaze. However, the agents' role "quickly widened" to cover areas under the jurisdiction of local police.

 

The prolonged surveillance sparked concerns within the departments, which feared that the teams could be compared to FBI surveillance transgressions in the past.

 

Kieran L Ramsey, the FBI’s special agent in charge of the Portland field office, told TheTimes that the office was committed to pursuing “violent instigators who exploit legitimate, peaceful protests and engage in violations of federal law".

 

“At all times, our focus was on those planning or committing significant criminal activity or acts of violence,” Mr Ramsey said.

 

During the demonstrations, when people concealed their identities and demanded the absence of cameras, infiltrating the crowd in plain clothes may have given the authorities the opportunity to identify those engaging in vandalism, the report said.

 

In one instance, FBI agents were credited in court records with helping catch a man accused of throwing Molotov cocktails at authorities.

 

The federal agency continued its operations among Portland’s far-left activists for months even when the movement faded.

 

Renn Cannon, who was the Portland office’s special agent in charge during the demonstrations, said there were persistent protest-related crimes and tense political dynamics. “I thought a lot about what is allowed under the Constitution. How do you do surveillance effectively, safely and legally? That was something we spent a lot of time on,” Mr Cannon said.

 

While the agency continued to investigate the far-left groups, some lawmakers have blasted the bureau for failing to detect the 6 January Capitol attacks.

Former French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe has called on French President Emmanuel Macron to step down amid France’s deepening political crisis.

 

On Monday, Sebastien Lecornu became the fifth French prime minister to resign under Macron in just two years, stepping down mere hours after unveiling a new cabinet.

A Ukrainian drone has targeted a nuclear power station in Russia’s Voronezh Region overnight, Rosenergoatom, a state-run company which operates the country’s nuclear power plants, has said.

The attack did not affect the operations of the station, with the radiation level on site remaining unchanged and corresponding to natural levels, Rosenergoatom said.

These officials viewed the alleged ties of the US Vice President’s family to corruption in Ukraine as evidence of a double-standard within the US Government towards matters of corruption and political power.

 

Biden’s convicted felon son, Hunter, held a lucrative position on the board of Ukrainian energy conglomerate Burisma Holdings during his father’s vice presidential term.

 

The elder Biden has publicly admitted to pressuring Kiev into firing a prosecutor general who was investigating the company in 2016. However, he denied ever taking bribes or having knowledge of Hunter’s foreign business affairs.

Hunter was hired by Burisma to serve on its board in 2014, soon after the Maidan coup in Kievin which the government of President Viktor Yanukovich was overthrown. He served in this capacity until 2019.

 

In the document, which included Burisma’s letterhead, Biden asked the ambassador for “support and guidance in arranging [the] meeting.” In his response, which was also published by the NYT,the ambassador said he had a “good working relationship” with the governor, and that he asked a “senior commercial officer” at the embassy to “facilitate contact” with the Italian authorities.

 

Hunter did not mention his father in his letter but pointed to a personal meeting he had with Phillips during a Biden family trip to Rome over the Thanksgiving holiday in 2015, the NYT reported.

 

According to the newspaper, the request resulted in nothing and the meeting never took place. A lawyer for Hunter Biden previously described the letter as a “proper request.” Phillips claimed he did not recall the letter, and Burisma did not comment on the report, according to the NYT.

 

Hunter’s dealings with the energy company have long been the subject of controversy. Former business partner Devon Archer previously testified to the Republican-led House Oversight Committee that Hunter had personally asked his father to disrupt the Ukrainian investigation into Burisma.

Polish PM against handing over Nord Stream bombing suspect to Berlin

Polish Prime MinisterDonald Tusk has expressed his opposition to extraditing a Ukrainian suspect in the Nord Stream sabotage case to Germany. The Polish authorities detained the man last month. Berlin’s previous request for his arrest wasreportedly obstructedby the Polish government in 2024.

 

It is ultimately up to a court to decide whether the suspect identified by the media as Vladimir Z. will be handed over to Berlin, Tusk told a press conference on Tuesday. However,he maintained that the move would not be good for Warsaw. (???)

Vladimir Z. was detained in the city of Pruszkow in late September. The suspect is aUkrainian diving instructor, who was reportedly part of a team behind the Nord Stream pipeline explosions. The four undersea pipelines were rendered inoperable in September 2022 as a result of a sabotage. German prosecutors have attributed the underwater blasts to a small group of Ukrainian nationals that sailed to the scene aboard the rented yacht Andromeda.

 

Moscow has rejected Berlin’s version,dismissing the claim that a small group of Ukrainians carried out the sabotage as “ridiculous.” Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested the US likely orchestrated the operation.

 

Warsaw, which has been one of Kiev’s staunchest backers since 2022, allegedly considered granting asylum to the suspect, according to a September report by Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita. Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski also repeatedly stated that he was ready to do so.

The administration of US President Donald Trump has produced a top-secret legal opinion authorizing the use of force against a list of drug cartels, going beyond those officially designated by Washington as terrorist groups, CNN has reported, citing multiple informed sources.

 

In recent weeks, the US has sunk at least four boats it claimed were carrying narcotics off the coast of Venezuela, killing more than 20 people. The president of the oil-rich Latin American nation, Nicolas Maduro, has denied Washington’s accusations of having links to drug trafficking and insisted that the attacks were part of an attempt to depose him.

 

The previously unreported legal opinion by the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel is a cornerstone of the Trump administration’s campaign against the cartels, which also includes an expansion of the CIA’s powers to act in Latin America, the broadcaster said in an article on Tuesday.

 

The document argues that the US president can authorize the use of deadly force against a wide range of drug trafficking groups due to them posing an imminent threat to the American people, the sources said.

 

Former associate general counsel at the Defense Department, Sarah Harrison, to whom CNN described the opinion, said that if it is “as broad as it seems, it would mean DOJ has interpreted the president to have such extraordinary powers that he alone can decide to prosecute a war far broader than what Congress authorized after the attacks on 9/11.”

 

“By this logic, any small, medium or big group that is trafficking drugs into the US – the administration could claim it amounts to an attack against the United States and respond with lethal force,” Harrison added.

 

According to the broadcaster, multiple Pentagon military lawyers have suggested that the US attacks on boasts off Venezuela’s coast “do not appear lawful.” However, they lack the authority to overrule the opinion by the DOJ’s Office of Legal Counsel.

 

"The way forward is just to eat it and put your head down and act in accordance with [Secretary of War Pete] Hegseth’s new policies,” one of the lawyers said.

Had one of those flop on it's side while crossing a highway in Southern Indiana.
