The White House on Monday released a list of criminal illegal immigrants who reportedly received Medicaid benefits while living in the United States. The post, shared on the administration’s official account, included mugshots of offenders and noted the crimes for which they were arrested, along with the label “Received Medicaid.”

The new release follows weeks of partisan conflict over government funding. Earlier this month, on October 1, a government shutdown began after lawmakers failed to agree on a budget. The main point of contention was over healthcare funding and whether illegal immigrants should have access to taxpayer-funded programs.

Vice President JD Vance previously said Democrats were misrepresenting their position on the issue. “A Democrat talking point, they say ‘we’re not actually trying to give healthcare benefits to illegal aliens,’ and here’s why it’s not true,” Vance said in an interview with Fox News earlier this month.

Vance said the Trump administration cut two Biden-era programs that had allowed federal money to be used for healthcare provided to illegal immigrants, including hospital services and benefits granted to mass-paroled migrants. “Democrats want to turn it back on,” he said. “The first thing they put out to reopen the government actually turned that money for health care benefits for illegal aliens back on.”

Washington takes charge: Inside the international ceasefire command center in Kiryat Gat

A new international command center in Kiryat Gat is already operating with troops from the US, UK, Jordan and the UAE; Washington sets the pace, while Vice President Vance signals determination—and full control

The Americans are making it clear: they are fully engaged and not letting go. Since the cease-fire took effect a week ago, senior White House officials have been in Israel, effectively managing the operation. Alongside President Donald Trump’s visit, his envoys—the “deal architects”—toured Gaza, met with released hostages, and even joined a meeting at IDF headquarters, an unusual move.

In recent months, Israel has effectively become a U.S. protectorate: decisions are made in Washington, directives come from there, and Jerusalem is compelled to follow suit. In Kiryat Gat, the new international command center for implementing the Trump Agreement is already operational. The site hosts troops not only from the U.S., UK and Canada, but also from Jordan and the United Arab Emirates—nations that prefer to stay out of the spotlight.

The center, leading the second stage of Trump’s plan, is located in a large industrial complex and flies the flags of Denmark, Germany and Jordan—but notably not those of Turkey or Qatar, amid concerns over their potential postwar roles in Gaza. Separate floors are designated for Israeli and American personnel, with one shared level.

When President Trump unveiled his 20-point plan, it was clear that many issues would remain vague. Israel has been shaping its actions on the go, which is why the Americans insist on maintaining a presence—to keep things from unraveling.

At the start of his statement Tuesday, Vance said Western media often frame every crisis as a failure, “sometimes even waiting for it.” His remark was aimed at preparing public opinion for what lies ahead: there will be setbacks, he said, and patience is required.

The vice president held his press conference at the Kiryat Gat command center, answering questions and emphasizing Washington’s main messages. He promised that no foreign troops would be forced on Israel against its will, an apparent reference to concerns about Turkish and Qatari involvement. Nations seeking to contribute to stability, he said, could do so through funding, humanitarian aid or participation in the still-forming international stabilization force.

Explosions at Oil Refineries in Hungary, Romania Spark Sabotage Suspicions

Explosions shook a Hungarian and a Romanian oil refinery on Monday, 20 October. Investigations are underway in both cases, and many circumstances remain unknown.

The first explosion hit the Petrotel-Lukoil refinery in Ploieşti, Romania, at about 11.30am local time on Monday. The second, similar incident occurred on Monday evening at MOL’s refinery in Százhalombatta, Hungary. Officials said the fire was contained by Tuesday morning, but operations were still suspended and investigations were continuing; the primary cause of the explosion remained unknown at the time of writing. The Százhalombatta refinery is a key node in both the Hungarian and Central European fuel networks, processing crude delivered via the Druzhba pipeline from Russia. Oil refined at Százhalombatta supplies mainly domestic markets but also, in significant quantities, Slovakia.

Since mid-2025, Ukraine has also waged a sustained campaign of long-range drone strikes against Russian refining and energy infrastructure deep inside Russian territory. Analysts credit these attacks with knocking out up to 17 per cent of Russia’s refining capacity (around 1.2 million barrels per day) in August, rising to roughly 21 per cent (about 1.4 million b/d) by the end of the month. The strikes created production bottlenecks, caused domestic fuel shortages in Russia, pushed gasoline prices higher, and significantly reduced Russia’s fuel exports—eroding an important revenue stream for Moscow.

Ukraine has also been implicated in sabotage attacks on Russian energy infrastructure in allied countries. Recently, Warsaw rejected the extradition of a Ukrainian citizen accused of involvement in the 2022 sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines. A Polish court turned down the German request, saying the charges were ‘too general’ and that the incident occurred in ‘international waters’—a ruling some observers framed in the context of a ‘just war’.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk argued that extradition would not be ‘in Poland’s national interest,’ noting that, in his view, the problem for Europe, Ukraine, Lithuania, and Poland is not that Nord Stream 2 was blown up but that it was built in the first place. The statement provoked outrage: Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó called it ‘scandalous’, writing on X that ‘According to Poland, if you don’t like infrastructure in Europe, you can blow it up. With this, they gave advance permission for terrorist attacks in Europe. Poland has not only released but is celebrating a terrorist.’

Aaron Spencer, dad who killed daughter’s alleged molester, announces run for Lonoke County Sheriff

Spencer described himself as “the father who acted to protect his daughter when the system failed him” and “a husband, a combat veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division, a contractor and a farmer.” He said he has “seen firsthand the failures in law enforcement and in our circuit court,” and he could no longer sit by silently.

“This campaign isn’t about me,” Spencer said. “It’s about every parent, every neighbor, every family who deserves to feel safe in their homes and safe in their community. It’s about restoring trust, where neighbors know law enforcement is on their side and families know they will not be left alone in a moment of need.”

The partisan primary election for sheriff is March 3, 2026. Spencer has become something of a cult hero for killing Fosler, and it’s not inconceivable he could ride his newfound notoriety into office. There’s just one wrinkle: He may not be eligible to be sheriff by the time the election gets here. In January, Spencer is going on trial for second-degree murder, and a felony conviction is a bar to holding office in Arkansas.

Spencer was arrested last fall and charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Fosler. The story quickly gained local and national attention due to Fosler’s alleged prior relationship with Spencer’s daughter.

According to court records, Fosler had been arrested in July 2024 and charged with 43 counts including sexual assault of a minor, internet stalking of a child, and possession of child pornography, some or all of which related to a relationship between Fosler and Spencer’s daughter.Circuit Judge Barbara Elmore released Fosler on bond.

The affidavit contains Spencer’s recounting of how the deadly interaction unfolded. Spencer saw Fosler’s white Ford F-150 turn onto Highway 236 East, toward Fosler’s home. He turned around and chased after Fosler’s vehicle, flashing his lights and honking his horn to get Fosler to pull over. When the two vehicles arrived at an intersection, Spencer rammed his truck into the rear of Fosler’s, sending the F-150 into a ditch. The affidavit continues:

Spencer then stated that he exited his vehicle with his firearm in hand and ordered Fosler out of his vehicle and to lay down in the ditch. Spencer stated that he observed his daughter trying to exit the passenger side of the vehicle, but it appeared that Fosler had grabbed her and stopped her from getting out. Spencer then stated that Fosler exited his vehicle and had something in his hand, but [Spencer] did not know what it was. Spencer stated that Fosler then lunged towards him, saying “fuck you.” Spencer stated that he then opened fire on Fosler, emptying his weapon before jumping on top of [Fosler] and pistol whipping him. Spencer then stated that he got his daughter out of the vehicle and returned to his truck where he reloaded his weapon and called 911.

Are egg prices about to soar again?

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the recall of more than 6 million eggs across at least six states due to Salmonella contamination, according to a recently issued recall notice.

The FDA labeled the recall as Class I, the most severe under the agency’s rules, meaning it is a dangerous or defective product that could cause serious injury or death.

The recall was announced by Arkansas-based Black Sheep Egg Company earlier this month, the FDA said in a news release updated on Oct. 20

The impacted products include Black Sheep Egg Company-branded Free Range Large Grade A Brown Eggs with best by dates of Aug. 22, 2025, to Oct. 31, 2025, on the side of the carton, the FDA said.

“Products may have been further distributed to other states, and additional products will be added to this advisory as information becomes available,” the FDA said.

Rep. Dan Goldman Calls For ICE Agents To Be Arrested

A Democratic New York congressman is calling on the NYPD to arrest and prosecute ICE agents who engage in “unlawful actions” during federal immigration crackdowns in the city.

In a letter to NYPD commissioner Jessica Tisch, U.S. Rep. Dan Goldman rips U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection officers’ “outrageous and unlawful conduct” in cities around the country, saying they have been “violently and improperly” arresting U.S. citizens.

Goldman said with the “likely possibility” that the Department of Homeland Security will “send armies of agents into New York City for civil immigration purposes” he urged the NYPD to be “prepared to strictly enforce state and local laws in order to hold federal agents accountable for any unlawful actions they engage in, including potentially through arrest and prosecution for felony violations.”

“When immigration officials make warrantless arrests of U.S. citizens or lawful residents without reasonable suspicion to believe they have violated immigration law, they are acting outside the scope of their legal authority,” he wrote.

Goldman, a lawyer who as a House counsel participated in Donald Trump’s 2019 impeachment inquiry, cited ICE’s policy barring civil immigration enforcement authority against U.S. citizens.

He said news outlets have reported that federal agents “have repeatedly detained or deported American citizens in clear violation of their constitutional rights.”

“No person, regardless of their badge, should be permitted to assault or unlawfully detain any New Yorker without facing consequences,” he wrote.

“In light of this failure of federal oversight, it is the responsibility of the city to uphold the rule of law and protect the public.”

There was no immediate response from the NYPD or ICE’s press office to the congressman’s letter.

State Department Employee Arrested For Stealing Thousands of Pages of “Top Secret” Classified Documents Released to Home Confinement

As previously reported, State Department contractor stole thousands of pages of “TOP SECRET” classified documents and met with Beijing officials.

Ashley Tellis, an expert on India and South Asian affairs, removed the top secret documents from secure locations and met with Chinese officials.

The classified documents were located in Tellis’s Virginia home during a raid.

“On Sept. 25, he allegedly printed U.S. Air Force documents concerning military aircraft capabilities. Federal prosecutors allege that he met with Chinese government officials multiple times over the past several years,” Fox News reported.

Prosecutors said in September 2022 that Tellis brought a manila envelope with him when he met with Chinese officials in a Virginia restaurant.

Tellis has been in jail since October 11.

He was charged with one count of retaining national defense information.

Tellis’ attorneys insist their client did not disclose any classified information to a foreign government and claimed government investigators are interpreting his “routine professional duties” as something sinister.

“Regrettably, investigators appeared to interpret his routine professional duties, such as liaison work and international travel, as clandestine activity, reading something sinister into what were standard think-tank and scholarly foreign policy engagements,” Tellis’ attorneys wrote in a court filing, according to The Washington Post.

Newly sworn in US Attorney Lindsey Halligan charged Tellis.

Texas identifies over 2,000 potential noncitizens who were registered to vote in SAVE database

Nelson said a total of 2,724 potential noncitizens were identified in the state probe out of a list of 18 million voters.

Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson on Tuesday announced her office has completed its review of the state's voter registration list against citizenship data in the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ SAVE database.

Nelson said she has identified over 2,000 potential noncitizens, who possibly voted illegally in recent state elections. The list of potential noncitizens have been turned over to local counties, who will conduct their own investigations into the eligibility of the identified voters.

Those the state believes voted in a state election illegally will be referred to the Office of the Attorney General for prosecution.

“Only eligible United States citizens may participate in our elections,” Nelson said. “The Trump Administration’s decision to give states free and direct access to this data set for the first time has been a game changer, and we appreciate the partnership with the federal government to verify the citizenship of those on our voter rolls and maintain accurate voter lists.

"Everyone’s right to vote is sacred and must be protected," she continued. "We encourage counties to conduct rigorous investigations to determine if any voter is ineligible — just as they do with any other data set we provide. The SAVE database has proven to be a critically important data set and one of many that we will continue to use in Texas to ensure that only qualified voters cast a ballot in our elections.”

Nelson said a total of 2,724 potential noncitizens were identified in the state probe out of a list of 18 million voters.

The potential noncitizens will be sent letters notifying them of the finding, which they will have 30 days to respond to with proof of citizenship in order to remain a registered voter. If the deadline is missed, the registration will be canceled. But it can be restored when proof of citizenship is presented.
