It’s unclear how many monkeys were packed into the truck, but all those who escaped were quickly seized and euthanized — except for one still on the lam.

 

“Non-human primates at the Tulane National Biomedical Research Center are provided to other research organizations to advance scientific discovery. The primates in question belong to another entity and are not infectious. We are actively collaborating with local authorities and will send a team of animal care experts to assist as needed,” the university said in a statement.

 

The sheriff’s office was still scouring the area for the loose monkey with assistance from the Mississippi Wildlife and Fisheries and an “animal disposal company” as of 2 p.m. Tuesday, according to its post on Facebook.

 

The rhesus monkey has a long history supporting humanity’s advancement. Its ranks include Albert II, the first monkey the United States sent into space in 1948, and rhesus antigens helped doctors identify the different human blood groups.

This has gotten to the point that this is happening so often that anon is beginning to feel obligated to consider the possibility that the monkeys themselves may be causing the wrecks. Perhaps by way of some new found power of mild telekenisis that was suddenly thrust upon them by all this absurd experimentation. Charles James Kirk (October 14, 1993 – September 10, 2025) was an American right-wing political activist, author, and media personality. He co-founded the conservative organization Turning Point USA (TPUSA) in 2012 and was its executive director. He was the chief executive officer (CEO) of Turning Point Action (TPAction) and a member of the Council for National Policy (CNP). Friess was also an advisor to Turning Point USA, a conservative youth organization to which he donated seed money.[33]

 

In October 2017, Friess said he was exploring a possible candidacy for the Senate challenging Wyoming Senator John Barrasso for the Republican nomination,[34] at the request ofSteve Bannon.[35] However, in April 2018, he instead decided to enter the crowded Republican field to replace term-limited Governor Matt Mead. Friess was defeated in the primary, coming in second to State Treasurer Mark Gordon by 38,951 votes (33%) to 29,842 (25.3%).[35]

The very high Tariffs I set made it virtually impossible forChinato TRADE into the United States marketplace which is, by far, number one in the World.

We went, in effect, COLD TURKEY withChina, and it was devastating for them. Many factories closed and there was, to put it mildly, “civil unrest.”

I saw what was happening and didn’t like it, for them, not for us. I made a FAST DEAL withChinain order to save them from what I thought was going to be a very bad situation, and I didn’t want to see that happen.

Because of this deal, everything quickly stabilized andChinagot back to business as usual. Everybody was happy! That is the good news!!!

The bad news is thatChina, perhaps not surprisingly to some, HAS TOTALLY VIOLATED ITS AGREEMENT WITH US. So much for being Mr. NICE GUY!

China's 'Shock' Statement: Palestinians Have Right To Use 'Armed Force' Against Israel

China has backed the right of the Palestinian people to use armed force to combat Israel's occupation of their land, calling it an "an inalienable right well founded in international law".

The comments on Thursday were made by the Chinese ambassador to the UN, Zhang Jun, during the fourth day of public hearings held by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, Netherlands.

Representatives of 52 countries are addressing the ICJ on Israel's decades-long occupation of Palestinian land.

Beijing’s envoy said there were "various people (who) freed themselves from colonial rule" and they could use "all available means, including armed struggle".

He described the Palestinian use of armed resistance as legitimate and not an act of terrorism.

"The struggle waged by peoples for their liberation, right to self-determination, including armed struggle against colonialism, occupation, aggression, domination against foreign forces should not be considered terror acts," Zhang Jun told the court.

In his speech, Jun criticized Israeli policies, characterizing them as “oppression that has severely undermined and impeded the exercises and full realization of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination".

The ICJ’s public hearings, which will be held until February 26, come after a UN General Assembly resolution requesting an ICJ advisory opinion.

The number of states participating in the oral proceedings is the highest of any case since the ICJ's establishment in 1945 and is separate to the more publicized genocide case brought by South Africa. A panel of 15 judges are expected to take about six months to deliberate before issuing an advisory opinion.

Besides China, other countries scheduled to participate in the hearings include Hungary, France, South Africa and Egypt.

International bodies, including the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the African Union will also take part. Israel will not participate but has sent written observations to the court.

US First Lady Melania Trump “likes” Russian President Vladimir Putin, but is disappointed over the continuation of the Ukraine conflict, President Donald Trump has said. Moscow is willing to negotiate but has maintained that any talks must address the root causes of the conflict.

 

Since assuming office this year, Trump has said he respects both Russia and Putin and wants to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict. In recent weeks, however, he has increasingly expressed frustration over a lack of progress in the peace process and has threatened Moscow with more sanctions.

 

In Tuesday’s episode of Pod Force One, the US president said: “We know Putin and she [Melania] likes him,” adding that he “got along with him very well.”

 

However, Trump noted that shortly after his recent conversation with the Russian president, Melania had commented it was “too bad they just bombed Kiev.”

 

On Tuesday, Trump cut his 50-day deadline for Moscow and Kiev to reach a peace deal to just 10 days, warning of sweeping sanctions targeting Russia's trading partners if no agreement is reached. Russian officials have rejected the US president's ultimatums.

Earlier this month, The Times published a report suggesting that Melania Trump’s role in shaping her husband’s decisions could be underestimated. Melania, 55, was born in Soviet-era Slovenia – now a staunch supporter of Kiev, the outlet pointed out, adding that her deep interest in the conflict reflects that background.

 

US lawmaker Don Bacon echoed that view in an interview this month, saying the first lady could deserve credit for Trump’s apparent turn against Russia.

 

“His position on Ukraine has clearly evolved,” Bacon said, noting that he wouldn’t be surprised if Melania played a “quiet but important part in that.”

Melania Trump says she's working with Putin on reuniting abducted Ukrainian children

WASHINGTON — First lady Melania Trump said Friday that she has been working with Russian President Vladimir Putin on reuniting Ukrainian children who were believed to be kidnapped into Russia during the war.

 

Speaking from the White House, she referred to a letter sent to Putin in August regarding children affected by the war, and said that he wrote back "signaling a willingness to engage with me directly."

 

“President Putin and I have had an open channel of communication regarding the welfare of these children," the first lady said. "For the past three months, both sides have participated in several back-channel meetings and calls, all in good faith. My representative has been working directly with President Putin’s team to ensure the safe reunification of children with their families between Russia and Ukraine."

 

Trump said that in the last 24 hours, eight children were reunified with their families.

 

“Three were separated from their parents and displaced to the Russian Federation because of front-line fighting," she said. "The other five were separated from family members across borders because of the conflict, including one young girl who has now been reunited from Ukraine to Russia.”

 

She said that she has also raised concerns about Ukrainians who were minors at the time they were displaced during the conflict, but have since become adults while living in Russia. "Given the dangers of traversing this war-torn region, their safe return requires coordinated assistance," she said. "Accordingly, Russia has agreed to rejoin the individuals who have turned 18 within a short period of time. Again, this remains an ongoing effort. Plans are already underway to reunify more children in the immediate future."

 

NBC News reached out to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's office for comment.

 

Russia has taken thousands of Ukrainian children since it invaded Ukraine and started the war in February 2022. Zelenskyy has brought the issue to the attention of Trump administration officials and President Donald Trump himself.

Zelenskyy estimated in June that more than 200,000 Ukrainian children have been deported to Russia or territories it controls since the war began more than three years ago. Maria Lvova-Belova, Russia’s children’s rights commissioner, has estimated that around700,000 children have been displaced since Russia's 2014 invasion of Crimea.

 

Research recently published by the Yale School of Public Health Humanitarian Research Lab said that Ukrainian children have been taken to more than 200 facilities across Russia, where they are given "re-education" courses focused on Russian patriotism or forced to participate in military training.

 

The first lady hasn't had as much of a public-facing role as in her husband's first term, and it's unusual for first ladies to get involved in foreign affairs. But when it comes to foreign policy, her spokesman Nicholas Clemens told NBC News: “The First Lady’s impact on her husband’s decision-making process is unparalleled. She possesses an unmatched level of influence compared to any adviser or cabinet member. Mrs. Trump can discreetly influence policy in a manner that is rarely observed by the public due to her singular position.”

 

Last month, she met with Ukrainian first lady Olena Zelenska on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly after Trump had hand-delivered his wife's letter about children to Putin. A few days later, Zelenskyy brought a letter from his wife for Trump to deliver to Melania Trump, thanking her for writing to Putin.

 

Melania Trump and Zelenska discussed the plight of children affected by the war in Ukraine, after the American first lady launched an initiative focused on working with spouses of heads of state on the well-being of young people around the world, Zelenskyy said.

 

Melania Trump was “pleased” to meet with Zelenska, according to a spokesman for the first lady, and appreciates that “they have a shared vision — advancing the development of children.”

When President Trump imposed sweeping tariffs on Chinese goods, the Chinese Communist Party didn’t just retaliate with trade measures. It launched an information war, using American insiders to spread its narrative that tariffs were reckless and self-defeating.

 

One of the most prominent voices in that campaign is Rick Waters, a former senior U.S. diplomat who once directed the State Department’s China House.

 

Since leaving government, Waters has become a reliable messenger for Beijing’s preferred positions, appearing with CCP-linked influence groups and using Western media outlets to promote pro-China talking points that undermine Trump’s trade strategy.

 

From State Department Insider to Beijing’s Trusted Voice

 

In late 2024, Waters participated in an official interview for China–US Focus, a platform run by the China–United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF). In the interview, he called for “restraint” and “dialogue,” insisting that “both sides must avoid confrontation.” The phrasing matched Beijing’s diplomatic line word for word.

 

Shortly afterward, he appeared as a featured participant at the 2024 U.S.–China Hong Kong Forum, another CUSEF-organized event that gathered Chinese Communist Party officials, Hong Kong elites, and select Western figures for “private dialogue.” The agenda promised to explore “mutual respect” and “pathways to cooperation,” but the guest list told a different story.

 

CUSEF was founded by Tung Chee-hwa, a vice chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the advisory body that sits under the CCP’s United Front Work Department. The United Front is the arm of the Party responsible for foreign influence operations and elite recruitment.

 

The United Front: Beijing’s Hidden Ministry of Influence

 

Behind the polished language of “dialogue” and “mutual understanding” lies one of the CCP’s most dangerous tools of foreign interference: the United Front Work Department.

 

According to U.S. and allied intelligence reports, the UFWD operates as the Party’s “hidden ministry of influence.” It is tasked with guiding foreign elites, shaping overseas media narratives, and blurring the line between diplomacy, propaganda, and espionage.

 

The U.S.–China Economic and Security Review Commission calls it “the primary entity coordinating influence operations targeting foreign elites, media, and business leaders.”

 

Beijing’s own statements describe the department’s mission even more plainly: to “unite all possible forces” in service of China’s goals. In practice, that means cultivating Western politicians, academics, and journalists who can quietly normalize the CCP’s worldview inside democratic systems.

Senate Judiciary Launches Probe Into Gates Foundation's Alleged Funding Of Chinese Military Fronts

 

Scrutiny of the nonprofit world is increasing by the week. Regarding the Gates Foundation, rumblings surfaced in late August when the foundation abruptly severed ties with the Arabella network. This is the same network that bankrolls color-revolution-style operations run by No Kings partners, also known as the permanent protest-industrial complex.

 

Now, congressional pressure is mounting on the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley of Iowa launched an investigation into the foundation's alleged funneling of tens of millions of dollars in grants to entities tied to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), raising serious concerns over potential violations of U.S. tax laws governing 501(c)(3) world.

 

"According to recent reports, the Gates Foundation, through grants and direct payments, have funded the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its allies. I am writing today to ask you whether these reports are true or not and, if true, how your organization's conduct comports with 501(c)(3) requirements," Grassley wrote in the letter.

 

Grassley cited several media reports that suggested in 2023 the Gates Foundation directed:

 

$11.7 million to various arms of China's government,

 

$2 million to a corporation linked by the U.S. Department of Defense to the Chinese military,

 

and $6.7 million to state-run universities that support Xi Jinping's regime

 

Grassley noted the foundation's 2022 tax filings that showed, according to the senator, "the nonprofit provided approximately $23 million in funding to over 20 different Chinese entities, some of which were labeled as "foreign governments."

 

These payments were reportedly categorized as public health or research initiatives. However, IRS regulations prohibit 501(c)(3) charities from directly supporting foreign governments. This means the foundation would have to obtain IRS determination letters or equivalency determinations to ensure that foreign grants serve charitable purposes and do not violate Sections 4942 or 4945 of the IRS Code.

Estonia claims that two unidentified UAVs were flying near barracks at Camp Reedo

 

An unidentified drone was shot down near a base housing US troops in southeastern Estonia, close to the Russian border, the Baltic nation’s military has announced.

 

The incident occurred at Camp Reedo, which hosts the 5th Squadron of the US Army’s 7th Cavalry Regiment. The unit arrived in February to replace troops from the 30th Infantry Regiment.

 

“Allies detected drones flying in the immediate vicinity of the 2nd Infantry Brigade campus at 4:30 p.m. on October 17, one of which was brought down using an anti-drone rifle,” Estonian Defense Forces spokeswoman Liis Vaksmann told Postimees on Tuesday. She added that the downed UAV has not been recovered.

 

NATO has dispatched additional fighter jets to patrol its eastern flank after Poland accused Russia of violating its airspace with more than a dozen drones on September 9. In a separate incident a week later, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that two Belarusian nationals were detained for flying a UAV over government buildings in Warsaw. Senate Committee Seeks Answers From NBA On Gambling Investigations

 

In an Oct. 27 letter to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), the committee’s chairman, and Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.), the committee’s ranking member, wrote that current and former NBA players and coaches have “compromised the game’s integrity.”

 

Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier was apprehended in relation to an illegal sports betting operation, while Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups was arrested in connection to a rigged poker scheme tied to the Gambino, Bonanno, and Genovese crime families.

 

Former NBA player Damon Jones was also apprehended. He was allegedly tied to both schemes.

 

“In light of the latest allegations of gambling-related corruption involving an NBA player, we write seeking more information about how the NBA investigated and handled these allegations as well as what steps the Association is taking to maintain the public’s trust,” wrote Cruz and Cantwell.

 

In the case involving Rozier, the defendants allegedly used insider information to make bets and profit, according to the indictment. This involved Rozier telling two co-defendants that he was going to remove himself from a game and not return, allowing his co-conspirators to place successful and fraudulent over-under bets on how many points he was going to score and other statistics.

 

Jones, as an unofficial assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2022–2023 NBA season, allegedly sold insider information to co-conspirators about a player not being on the court for a game ahead of the injury report being released to the public, according to the indictment. The player is believed to be Lakers superstar LeBron James, who has not been accused of wrongdoing. This allowed the bettors to make certain bets based on non-public information.

 

Billups is an unindicted co-conspirator in the rigging scheme where he sat key players for a Trail Blazers game against the Chicago Bulls. He had his team purposefully lose the game so that the team, which was out of playoff contention, could increase its chances of getting a higher draft pick, according to the indictment. The defendants bet on the Bulls winning the game based on the insider information they got.

The Obama administration is going all out to see that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is defeated, but the campaign of veiled threats and anonymous leaks is backfiring: Instead of sinking in the polls, Netanyahu is rising.

 

When Netanyahu accepted House Speaker John Boehner’s invitation to address a joint meeting of Congress in support of new sanctions on Iran, the Obama administration began a full-scale press offensive with a clear message: Netanyahu was endangering Israel by playing politics with the country’s relationship with the United States. Secretary of State John F. Kerry warned (through an anonymous aide) that “playing politics with that relationship could blunt [Kerry’s] enthusiasm for being Israel’s primary defender” and revealed that Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency had told him that new a sanctions bill would be “like throwing a grenade” into the negotiations with Iran. A senior administration official declared ominously to Haaretz that “President Obama has a year and a half left to his presidency, and that there will be a price.” A member of “Obama’s inner circle” launched an attack against Israeli ambassador Ron Dermer in the New York Times, accusing him of having “repeatedly placed Mr. Netanyahu’s political fortunes above the relationship between Israel and the United States.” The Times noted “Such officially authorized criticisms of diplomats from major allies are unusual.” The message to Israeli voters was unmistakable: If they reelect Netanyahu, Israel will pay a “price.”

 

''While White House officials were threatening Israel, the news broke that Obama’s 2012 national field director, Jeremy Bird, was headed to Tel Aviv to manage a grass-roots campaign to oust Netanyahu. ''Bird would not be working to defeat Netanyahu if he thought Obama opposed it. Can you imagine Karl Rove going to London while George W. Bush was in office to help conservatives oust Prime Minister Tony Blair? It further emerged that the group behind Bird’s anti-Netanyahu effort has received State Department funding and lists the State Department as a “partner” on its Web site. Netanyahu’s Likud Party held a news conference to accuse its opponents of accepting foreign funds in violation of Israeli election laws, and Israeli newspapers published headlines on the “Obama-Labor link .”

 

In the context of the anonymous White House threats, having a top Obama campaign official in Israel actively working to defeat Netanyahu is naturally perceived as interference.

 

This campaign of intimidation and interference has begun to backfire. Obama’s popularity in Israel was already extremely low. A January 2014 poll showed that only33percent of Israelis approve of Obama and that only 22 percent — about one in five — trust Obama on Iran, while 64 percent do not. Asking Israelis to choose between trusting Netanyahu and trusting Obama with their security is pretty dumb.

 

And indeed the polls in Israel have moved in Netanyahu’s direction since the Obama attacks began. Two weeks ago, the opposition Zionist Union was leading by three seats in the Knesset. Last week, its lead had shrunk to two. Now, Likud has pulled ahead by one seat, and the Jerusalem Post reports ''“The poll found that the percentage of respondents who want Netanyahu to remain prime minister rose from 38% last week to 44%, tying the highest-ever result.” ''(The poll coincided with an attack on Israel’s northern border last Wednesday, which put security — Netanyahu’s strong suit — at the forefront of the election again.)

 

At least the White House could claim one victory back home: Obama officials succeeded in getting Senate Democrats to put off a vote on bipartisan legislation imposing sanctions on Iran until after March 24 — after the Israeli elections. But this was a Pyrrhic victory at best. Obama wanted to put off any vote on sanctions until this summer; now he has 13 Democrats publicly committed to move ahead with sanctions if there is no clear “framework agreement” with Iran in place by March 24 — less than two months from now.

 

''Obama is clearly hoping that Netanyahu will lose the March elections and that a new, less hawkish Israeli government will be in place ''to back him on delaying sanctions before the March 24 deadline comes to pass. The irony is, his administration’s meddling in Israeli politics is making that increasingly less likely. Netanyahu is not out of the woods, to be sure, but when it comes to campaigning against Barack Obama, this much is certain: He’s no Mitt Romney.

Ms. Greene of Georgia introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce

 

A BILL

To prohibit weather modification within the United States, and for other purposes.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

 

SECTION 1. Short title.

 

This Act may be cited as the “Clear Skies Act”.

 

SEC. 2. Prohibition of weather modification.

 

(a) In general.—Whoever, in any circumstance described in subsection (b), knowingly conducts weather modification in the United States, including the territories and possessions of the United States, shall be subject to the penalties described in subsection (c).

 

(b) Circumstances described.—For the purposes of subsection (a), the circumstances described in this subsection are that—

 

(1) the defendant traveled in interstate or foreign commerce, or traveled using a means, channel, facility, or instrumentality of interstate or foreign commerce, in furtherance of or in connection with the conduct described in subsection (a);

 

(2) the defendant used a means, channel, facility, or instrumentality of interstate or foreign commerce in furtherance of or in connection with the conduct described in subsection (a);

 

(3) the defendant transmitted in interstate or foreign commerce any communication relating to or in furtherance of the conduct described in subsection (a) using any means, channel, facility, or instrumentality of interstate or foreign commerce or in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce by any means or in any manner, including by computer, mail, wire, or electromagnetic transmission;

 

(4) the conduct described in subsection (a) occurred within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States, the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States, or any territory or possession of the United States; or

 

(5) the conduct described in subsection (a) otherwise occurred in or affected interstate or foreign commerce.

 

(c) Penalties.—

 

(1) CRIMINAL PENALTY.—Whoever violates subsection (a) shall be fined not more than $100,000 for each violation, imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both.

 

(2) CIVIL PENALTY.—The Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency may, in coordination with the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration, impose a civil penalty of not more than $10,000 for each violation of subsection (a), in addition to any other penalties provided by law.

 

(3) REPEAT VIOLATIONS.—Each instance of injection, release, emission, or dispersal under subsection (a) shall constitute a separate violation of such section.

 

SEC. 3. Reporting and investigation.

 

(a) Public reporting.—

 

(1) ESTABLISHMENT OF SYSTEM.—The Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, in coordination with the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration and the Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, shall establish a system for the public to report suspected violations of section 2.

 

(2) SUBMISSION OF REPORTS.—Such system may collect reports via telephone, email, mail, or an online portal.

 

(3) PUBLICATION OF REPORTS.—The Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency shall make publicly available on the website of the Environmental Protection Agency any reports collected by such system under this subsection.

(b) Investigation.—

 

(1) IN GENERAL.—The Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency shall investigate suspected violations of section 2 reported under subsection (a) that the Administrator determines warrant further review.

 

(2) DETERMINATION.—

 

(A) REQUIREMENT.—For any suspected violation investigated under paragraph (1), the Administrator shall determine whether a violation of section 2 has occurred.

 

(B) COORDINATION.—In determining whether a violation of section 2 occurred, the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency may coordinate with the Secretary of Agriculture, the Secretary of the Interior, the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration, the Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or the head of any other Federal agency that the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency determines to be relevant, to verify the nature of any activities described in a report submitted under subsection (a).

 

(c) Referral to DOJ.—The Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency shall refer a suspected violation that the Administrator determines to have occurred under subsection (b)(2) to the Attorney General of the United States for further action.

 

SEC. 4. Repeal of existing authorities.

 

(a) Federal statutes.—Any provision of a Federal statute authorizing or requiring weather modification, including a licensing requirement or permit for any such weather modification, is hereby repealed.

 

(b) Federal regulations or executive orders.—Any provision of a Federal regulation or executive order authorizing or requiring weather modification, including a licensing requirement or permit for any such weather modification, is hereby nullified and shall have no force or effect.

 

SEC. 5. Definitions.

 

In this Act:

 

(1) ATMOSPHERE.—The term “atmosphere” means the gaseous envelope surrounding the Earth, including all airspace within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States.

 

(2) WEATHER MODIFICATION.—

 

(A) IN GENERAL.—The term “weather modification” means any injection, release, emission, or dispersal of a chemical, a chemical compound, or a substance, or conveyance of an apparatus, into the atmosphere for the express purpose of—

 

(i) producing an artificial change in the composition, behavior, or dynamics of the atmosphere; or

 

(ii) affecting the temperature, weather, climate, or intensity of sunlight.

 

(B) EXAMPLES.—Such term includes—

 

(i) geoengineering;

 

(ii) cloud seeding;

 

(iii) solar radiation modification and management; and

 

(iv) a release of an aerosol into the atmosphere to influence temperature, precipitation, or the intensity of sunlight.

 

SEC. 6. Effective date.

 

This Act shall take effect 90 days after the date of enactment of this Act.
