Search Underway for Two Fishermen After Unmanned Boat Found 70 Miles Off Florida Coast

A search is underway for 57-year-old Randall Spivey and 33-year-old Brandon Billmaier, two fishermen whose boat was found running with nobody on board off the coast of Florida after their families had not heard back from them on Friday night.

 

The US Coast Guard crew discovered the boat at approximately 1:30 am on Saturday.

 

Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno identified the missing men on Saturday with their photos, as 57-year-old Randall Spivey, 6’1″, 245 pounds, and 33-year-old Brandon Billmaier, 6’2″, 250 pounds.

 

“The two left early yesterday morning for a fishing trip on a 42FT Freeman (pictured) from a residence on the 15000 block of Intracoastal Ct in Fort Myers,” Marceno further revealed.

 

“Air & surface crews, and partner agencies are searching for a 57-year-old male and a 33-year-old male reported overdue Fri. night,” US Coast Guard Southeast District said in a Saturday X post with a photo of the boat.

 

“Crews located their [vessel] 70 mi. off Fort Myers. USCG crews are leading the search.”

All things are property.

 

On the high seas, if you come across a thing (property, even a person) the ship captain is entitled a salvage fee for returning the thing to any laying claim, else he can take owmership of the flotsam or jetsam.

If a person, he has the right to emancipate the person to self ownership, to restore that person with status beyond property, or he can sell that person as chattel.

Hey anons, i really stepped in it up here in Alaska. All of the billions sent up here have the place looking like Copenhagen in the 50s. I've found myself in the middle of all of the spook stuff going on here and it's to the point where I don't know what to do. It's foreign stuff. It's bad and i can document but I'm their loose end now that the locals decided to take money instead of doing right thing, and it could be a multi billion dollar issue a d halt things with this LNG money coming in, and destroy the Kenai River. If something happens to me it is due to being hired as a consultant to look into an energy company owned by Canada called Enstar (owned by the Canadian Pension Fund). They are failing to replace a very dangerous large natural gas transmission line going under the Kenai River. It was laid prior to the 10.0 1964 earthquake and was only coal tar lined,when coupled with the added degradation to it happening under the Kenai when it undergoes freezing and thawing every year it is a disaster that is imminent and overdue in nature. Also, due to its location in a Level 3 high consequence area crossing going through the "Poachers Cove" community they were supposed to be doing a lot of reporting and testing for the community, not to mention failing to replace it.

 

The fines on all of this are huge, and fixing it isn't cheap. I have been working on this through my consulting company for the local landowner who has the dangerous ROW running through his property. Unfortunately I've now confirmed that locals are just seeking a pay off and as a result they are expected to let this aituation continue as part of the agreement. Are agreeing to keep quiet about it all to the community and State, making go away (for Canada). The extremely long email chain and dialogue chain behind all of this has largely been authored by me as proxy as well as the ai I created for the situation. Through the engagement Enstar was forced to hire the law firm Holland and Hart, whose first lawyer promptly quit once he saw what was up with CFIUS (he might be #1 in nation in CFIUS related matters, his name was Jim Shine. They briefly switched to another one but then we began dealing with Enstar's #1 (spook) Lindsey Hobson again. The current state of the legal situation is the landowner is threatening (in email) an injunction and a CFIUS investigation to force the dangerous line off of his land. It's a bad situation all of the way around for them but they are most worried about the CFIUS stuff discovered as a result of investigation. That stuff can force the company out of whole region.

 

I really just need to fill in someone with more resources than I currently have. I've confirmed I'm being hunted. Have been surveilled for months at a high level. Even 90% sure I was put in a kill box 3 months back. Feeling like A Eskridge at this point tbh.

Polish President Karol Nawrocki has given Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky a study on the World War II-era Volhynia Massacre carried out by Ukrainian Nazi collaborators, according to media outlets and images circulating on the internet.

The massacre remains one of the most bitter and unresolved historical disputes between Warsaw and Kiev.

 

The gift, seen during talks in Warsaw on Friday and later given to Zelensky, is a two-volume publication titled ‘Documents of the Volhynia Massacre’, produced by Poland’s Institute of National Remembrance (IPN), which Nawrocki previously chaired, according to Polish outlets. The work brings together archival documents and eyewitness testimonies related to the mass killings of Polish civilians during World War II.

 

The Volhynia Massacre refers to events in 1943-45, when units of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), which collaborated with German Nazis, systematically slaughtered ethnic Poles in what is now western Ukraine.

An estimated 40,000 to 100,000 Poles were murdered by the UPA. Poland officially classifies the killings as genocide. Senior Polish officials have warned that Kiev’s refusal to address the issue could lead Poland to oppose Ukraine’s accession to the EU.

 

Ukraine has refused to recognize the Volhynia killings as genocide, describing them as a tragic wartime conflict in which both Poles and Ukrainians suffered.

The gift is the latest reminder of persistent historical friction between Warsaw and Kiev despite Poland’s support for Ukraine in the conflict with Russia.

Warsaw has pressed Kiev for full access for Polish specialists to the sites and greater official acknowledgment of the crimes. Ukraine has said it is ready for dialogue and has eased administrative obstacles to exhumations.

US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has accused European NATO states of trying to pull Washington into a direct confrontation with Russia and slammed Reuters for “fomenting hysteria” in order to sell war.

Russia has rejected claims that it plans to attack EU countries, describing them as warmongering tactics used by Western politicians to justify inflated military budgets.

This week, President Vladimir Putin once again dismissed the claims as “lies and nonsense.”

 

Yet in a report published on Friday, Reuters claimed that “Putin intends to capture all of Ukraine and reclaim parts of Europe that belonged to the former Soviet empire,” citing anonymous sources allegedly “familiar with US intelligence.”

“No, this is a lie and propaganda Reuters is willingly pushing on behalf of warmongers who want to undermine President Trump’s tireless efforts to end this bloody war that has resulted in more than a million casualties on both sides,” Gabbard retorted in a post on X.

 

Dangerously, you are promoting this false narrative to block President Trump’s peace efforts and foment hysteria and fear among the people to get them to support the escalation of war, which is what NATO and the EU really want in order to pull the United States military directly into war with Russia.

According to Gabbard, US intelligence assessments instead indicate that Russia “seeks to avoid a larger war with NATO” and lacks the capacity to wage one even if it wanted to.

 

Moscow insists it is defending its citizens in the Ukraine conflict and has accused NATO of provoking hostilities and derailing US-backed peace initiatives.

Putin, who has denied having any intention to restore the Soviet Union, has accused NATO countries of “preparing for a major war” by building up and modernizing offensive forces while “brainwashing” their populations with claims that a clash with Russia is inevitable.

 

Putin’s special envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, who is currently engaged in Ukraine peace talks with US interlocutors in Miami, praised Gabbard as a voice of reason.

“Gabbard is great not only for documenting the Obama/Biden origins of the Russia hoax, but now for exposing the deep-state warmonger machinery trying to incite WW3 by fueling anti-Russian paranoia across the UK and EU,” Dmitriev wrote on X.

“Voices of reason matter – restore sanity, peace, and security.”

By Patricia Garip (Bloomberg) — Another oil tanker has been boarded by the US near Venezuela, according to people with knowledge of the matter, as President Donald Trump intensifies an oil blockade on Nicolás Maduro’s government.

 

The Bella 1 tanker, a Panamanian-flagged vessel sanctioned by the US, was en route to Venezuela to load, one of the people said, asking not to be identified. The interdiction follows the boarding of the Centuries supertanker early Saturday and the Skipper on Dec. 10.

 

The White House didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

 

Trump has been stepping up pressure on Maduro by trying to choke off the regime’s main source of revenue. If Venezuela can’t export its oil, its storage tanks will fill up with stranded supply and state-owned Petróleos de Venezuela SA, or PDVSA, will have to start closing oil wells, industry experts say.

 

Trump also designated the Maduro government as a foreign terrorist organization, accusing it of involvement in drug trafficking.

 

Saturday’s boarding was notable because the ship hadn’t appeared on the public US sanctions list. The Centuries tanker was flying a Panamanian flag, according to people familiar with the matter, while a Chinese company holds title to the oil.

 

The tanker contained sanctioned PDVSA oil, White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly said in a post on X.

 

Venezuelan Vice President and Oil Minister Delcy Rodriguez condemned “the theft and kidnapping” of the tanker, calling the move “a serious act of piracy” by the US government.

Intercepted Tanker ‘Bella 1’ Has a Sanctions Past Linked to Terror Financing

The U.S.-blacklisted tanker Bella 1, reportedly intercepted by U.S. forces near Venezuela this weekend, carries a sanctions history that stretches far beyond Venezuelan oil trade into a web of terrorist financing operations spanning Southeast Asia and the Middle East, according to U.S. Treasury Department records.

 

Bloomberg reported Sunday that the very large crude carrier was en route to Venezuela to load when it was boarded, marking the third vessel interdiction in less than two weeks as the Trump administration escalates maritime enforcement against the Maduro government. The move follows the interdictions of the Centuries supertanker earlier Saturday and the Skipper on December 10.

 

Shipping database Equasis shows the vessel was previously flagged in Panama, but its current registration is listed as “unknown.”

 

Unlike the Centuries, which had not appeared on public U.S. sanctions lists, the Bella 1 has a well-documented sanctions record. Treasury documents from June 2024 show that Panama-based Louis Marine Shipholding Enterprises S.A., the vessel’s registered owner, was designated under for carrying sanctioned cargo on behalf of Hizballah-owned Concepto Screen SAL Off-Shore to Southeast Asia.

 

The designation cited the company for having “materially assisted, sponsored, or provided financial, material, or technological support for, or goods or services to or in support of” Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps–Qods Force. The Bella 1 was simultaneously identified as blocked property in which Louis Marine Shipholding Enterprises S.A. has an interest.

 

The action came alongside sanctions against Hong Kong-based Lainey Shipping Limited, owner of the Panama-flagged Janet, in what Treasury described as a coordinated effort to disrupt financing streams to both Hezbollah and the IRGC-QF. Both vessels were identified as blocked property under Executive Order 13224, the primary legal framework targeting terrorists and their support networks.

 

That action formed part of a broader Treasury enforcement sweep targeting the network of Houthi financial facilitator Sa’id al-Jamal. Since late 2023, the Iranian-backed Houthis have targeted Red Sea shipping with drones and missiles, claiming solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. The attacks disrupted global trade by forcing vessels to reroute around the Cape of Good Hope.

 

“The Houthis continue to leverage an expansive support network to facilitate their illicit activities, including hiding the origin of cargo, forging shipping documents, and providing services to sanctioned vessels,” said Brian E. Nelson, then Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, when the sanctions were announced. He added that the U.S. government remained “committed to disrupting and degrading the Houthis’ ability to engage in attacks against commercial shipping and naval vessels, as well as targeting those who seek to facilitate these activities.”

 

Maritime tracking service TankerTrackers.com underscored the significance of the interdiction, writing: “If true, then this OFAC-blacklisted VLCC [Bella 1] is quite a catch as she has served (mostly) Iran’s and (some) Venezuelan oil exports on numerous occasions.”

 

The Skipper seizure on December 10 involved a vessel with a complex three-year enforcement history spanning Iranian oil smuggling networks and sanctions evasion. That tanker, originally designated as Adisa in November 2022, was part of what Treasury described as “a sprawling international oil smuggling operation that funneled revenue to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force and Hezbollah.”

 

The Bella 1 boarding represents the third known U.S. interdiction near Venezuela in recent weeks, as the Trump administration intensifies pressure on the Maduro government by targeting its primary revenue source. Trump has also designated the Maduro government as a foreign terrorist organization, accusing it of involvement in drug trafficking, and last week announced a “blockade” of sanctioned tankers sailing to and from Venezuela.

 

Venezuelan Vice President and Oil Minister Delcy Rodríguez condemned the interdictions, calling them “a serious act of piracy” by the U.S. government.

A drone with a Russian flag attached was spotted in the sky over Kiev on Saturday, DPA reported, citing police in the Ukrainian capital.

The drone was launched by unknown individuals. The police are investigating the case.

Videos of the drone are circulating on social media.

 

The display of Russian symbols in Ukraine is prohibited - nearly four years after the country was attacked by its larger neighbor, DPA notes.

Russia has moved its plans for direct aggression from 2030 to 2027, and Europe is increasingly vocal about the risk of direct conflict, in which the Baltic states could find themselves under occupation.

 

This is stated by Lieutenant General Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Budanov commented on the issue in an open discussion on the LB club forum, quoted by FOCUS.

Budanov claims that Moscow does not have many opportunities to expand its influence.

 

"To the north - only the Arctic Ocean and further in the circle - the USA. Not an option, because it will harm. To the east - the Pacific Ocean and again the USA. The answer is the same.

To the south - China, it will be completely catastrophic - the land border, the same conditions as we have in the war with the Russian Federation, only for them.

Only the West remains, which in their understanding is, forgive me for the phrases, "greedy", "sick", "weak" and "indecisive", Budanov points out.

 

The head of the Ukrainian intelligence service said that according to the original plan, Russia was supposed to be ready for action in 2030.

However, these plans have now been revised and the deadlines have been shortened to 2027.

According to Budanov, Russia is perceived as an empire that "always has to move somewhere to expand its influence and territory".

 

As for Poland, Budanov specifies that "it is not in the plans for occupation at the moment, but for military coups".

"Poland is now, according to the plans we know, considered exclusively for strikes, for a military campaign without occupation", he stated.

 

These warnings come at a time of increased diplomatic activity. A few days ago, the first summit of the EU's eastern flank countries was held in Helsinki, dedicated to the security and protection of the Union's and NATO's external borders, attended by representatives of Poland, Finland, Sweden, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Romania and Bulgaria.

 

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte also expressed serious concerns.

Speaking in Berlin, he said that the alliance was “Russia's next target and we are already in the risk zone“.

Rutte said that the bloc must act immediately to prevent another war in Europe, stressing that the threat from Russia was direct and growing.

During the handover ceremony at IDF headquarters, Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir emphasized the ongoing threats facing Israel, declaring that the military would strike enemies “wherever required, on near and distant fronts alike” — a remark widely interpreted as alluding to potential future operations against Iran.

 

“At the center of the longest and most complex war in Israel’s history stands the campaign against Iran,” Zamir said.

“Iran is the one that financed and armed the ring of strangulation around Israel and stood behind the plans for its destruction.”

In his address, Zamir also appeared to subtly criticize Defense Minister Israel Katz over delays in approving senior appointments, including Harel’s expected promotion.

“Eyal, you are arriving mature and ready to command the Navy and to lead it in the coming years, as I hope will be finalized in the very near future,” Zamir said of Harel.

People who did not "jive" with the colony / religious teaching in their settlement - they went out into the wilderness and attempted, at least, to settle their own.

Drone Strike on Darfur Market Leaves 10 Dead

At least 10 people were killed after a drone strike hit a crowded market in Sudan’s North Darfur state over the weekend, according to local first responders, who did not say who carried out the attack.

The incident comes during intensifying fighting in other parts of the country, prompting the evacuation of aid workers on Sunday from Kadugli, a besieged city in the south that has been severely affected by famine.

 

Sudan has been engulfed in conflict since April 2023, when fighting broke out between the national army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.

The war has claimed tens of thousands of lives, displaced nearly 12 million people and triggered what the United Nations describes as the world’s largest displacement and hunger crisis.

 

The North Darfur Emergency Rooms Council, part of a network of volunteer groups coordinating relief efforts across Sudan, said the drone attack struck Al-Harra market in the RSF-controlled town of Malha on Saturday.

The group reported that the strike sparked fires in shops and caused extensive property damage but did not identify those responsible. Neither the army nor the RSF immediately commented on the incident.

 

Fighting has increasingly centred on South Kordofan, where clashes have escalated in and around Kadugli, the state capital. A drone attack there last week killed eight people as they attempted to flee the army-held city.

A humanitarian worker operating in Kadugli told AFP on Sunday that all aid staff had been evacuated due to the deteriorating security situation.

 

The withdrawal followed a decision by the United Nations to relocate its logistics hub away from Kadugli, although the destination of the relocated staff was not disclosed.

Kadugli and the nearby town of Dilling have been under siege by paramilitary forces since the war began.

 

Last week, the RSF announced it had taken control of the Brno area, a key defensive position on the road linking Kadugli to Dilling.

After forcing the army out of El-Fasher in October, its last stronghold in Darfur, the RSF has redirected its efforts towards the resource-rich Kordofan region, a strategic link between army-held areas in the north and east and RSF-controlled Darfur in the west.

 

With communications cut in the area, the United Nations declared a famine in Kadugli last month.

Residents have reportedly been forced to search for food in nearby forests, according to accounts gathered by AFP.

The conflict has effectively split Sudan, with the army holding the north, east and centre of the country, while the RSF controls all five Darfur state capitals and, together with allied groups, parts of the south.

Drone incidents escalate as Turkey finds three UAVs in five days

Turkey shot down a drone that violated its airspace and discovered two more crashed drones over five days, marking an escalation in incidents linked to the spillover of Russia's war in Ukraine into the Black Sea region.

Turkish F-16 fighter jets intercepted and destroyed an unmanned aerial vehicle on Monday after it entered Turkish airspace from the Black Sea, the Ministry of National Defence said.

The drone was shot down near Çankırı, approximately 120 kilometres from Ankara, after it appeared to be out of control.

 

On Friday, authorities found a crashed drone near Kocaeli, about 30 kilometres south of Istanbul. The Interior Ministry said initial findings indicate the drone is a Russian-made Orlan-10 type used for reconnaissance and surveillance purposes.

A second crashed drone was discovered on Saturday in a field near Balıkesir, some three hours southwest of Istanbul, Turkish media reported.

Farmers found the drone and handed it over to authorities, who transported it to Ankara for analysis. The origin of the Balıkesir drone remains under investigation.

 

The ministry said the drone on Monday was destroyed "at the most appropriate place" after procedures were completed. Debris broke up into small pieces and scattered across a wide area, complicating recovery efforts.

"Due to the ongoing war … our interlocutors have been warned that both sides should be more careful about such negativities regarding the security of the Black Sea," the ministry said.

 

Air defence questions raised

The incidents raised questions about Turkey's air defence readiness, particularly after the first drone penetrated deep into Turkish airspace before being intercepted.

Namık Tan, an opposition CHP deputy and former ambassador, questioned whether Turkey's radar system was sufficient to detect a drone capable of coming close to the capital and critical defence facilities.

 

The defence ministry rejected the criticism, saying that Turkey's airspace control operates continuously, with radar, early warning, electronic warfare and interception systems working in a layered architecture.

"The process regarding the UAV in question was successfully managed and finalised," the ministry said. "The allegations that our air defence system is weak do not reflect the truth."

A search is underway for 57-year-old Randall Spivey and 33-year-old Brandon Billmaier, two fishermen whose boat was found running with nobody on board off the coast of Florida after their families had not heard back from them on Friday night.

 

The US Coast Guard crew discovered the boat at approximately 1:30 am on Saturday.

 

Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno identified the missing men on Saturday with their photos, as 57-year-old Randall Spivey, 6’1″, 245 pounds, and 33-year-old Brandon Billmaier, 6’2″, 250 pounds.

 

“The two left early yesterday morning for a fishing trip on a 42FT Freeman (pictured) from a residence on the 15000 block of Intracoastal Ct in Fort Myers,” Marceno further revealed.

Syrian authorities foil drone and explosives smuggling plot outside Damascus

Syria's interior ministry announced it had foiled an attempt to smuggle drones and explosives to armed groups operating outside state control, including cells linked to the so-called Islamic State group and factions connected to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

In a statement, the ministry said a joint security operation was carried out in the Qudsaya area of the Damascus countryside by specialised units working with security forces from neighbouring Daraa province.

 

Ahmed al-Dalati, commander of internal security in the Rif Dimashq governorate, said five people were arrested on suspicion of smuggling weapons on behalf of "outlawed groups" in Suweida, SDF-controlled areas and cells linked to the Islamic State.

He said the operation followed "precise intelligence" about suspicious activity at a farm. Security forces moved to the site, imposed a cordon and carried out a raid.

 

According to the statement, officers seized FPV-type drones with their accessories, around 1.5 tonnes of TNT explosives and anti-personnel charges weighing about two kilogrammes each, which were allegedly prepared for use in suicide drones.

Al-Dalati said all seized items had been confiscated and the suspects referred to the relevant authorities for further investigation ahead of legal proceedings.

 

The announcement comes amid continued security operations by the Syrian authorities against Islamic State cells in recent months, according to official statements.

Since the ousting of former president Bashar al-Assad, armed groups described by Damascus as operating outside the law have spread in Suweida, some adopting separatist positions and rejecting integration into state institutions, despite what the government says are gains in restoring diplomatic and economic ties.

 

At the same time, the SDF has yet to fully implement an agreement reached with the government in Damascus in March to integrate into state institutions. Internal debates within the group have intensified, with some voices calling for decentralised or federal arrangements.

Syrian officials and allied figures accuse these groups of pursuing external agendas and seeking backing from hostile actors to undermine stability, weaken the state and fuel internal divisions, allegations that those groups have previously rejected.

Did a rash of 1940s sightings lead to plans for a national UFO conference in Louisiana?

During the Atomic Age, launched in 1945, the detonation of the atomic bomb ushered in Cold War politics, nuclear energy and Godzilla.

That's also when objects began appearing seemingly en masse in the sky throughout Louisiana, particularly in Alexandria, a fact that prompted Kyle Watt's inquiry.

 

"I once heard that a national conference on UFOs was once organized in Alexandria but never happened," the Zachary resident said. "It was supposed to happen in the 1940s. Is this true? And if it is, why not?"

Yes, it's true, and the year was 1947, long before the 2020s, when popularity of unidentified flying objects have soared to an all-time high through such popular television series as "Ancient Aliens."

 

These days, the mysterious flying machines are officially known as unidentified anomalous phenomena or unidentified aerial phenomena, but most people still use the term UFO.

Mention UFO, and people begin thinking of spaceships, specifically flying saucers.

 

"And that's what most people were reporting in Louisiana in 1947 — saucer-shaped spaceships," said Michael Wynne, author and central Louisiana historian.

"There were so many of these sightings, and they were all reported by Alexandria's local newspaper, The Town Talk."

 

The UFO capital of the world

In fact, it was the newspaper's managing editor and columnist, Adras Laborde, who organized the national conference.

Laborde was inducted into the Louisiana Political Hall of Fame in 2012 after a career stretching from the mid 1940s to the early 1990s.

He was fairly new at the newspaper when he supported the idea of staging a national UFO conference at Alexandria's downtown grand hotel, the Hotel Bentley.

 

"He was one of its biggest promoters," Wynne said. "It was going to be the first of its kind, but it didn't happen. Why?

Because Adras Laborde and his committee required at least 10 out-of-state people who had made sightings to commit to coming to Alexandria, but they only two out-of-state people signed up."

Meanwhile, almost 80 Louisianans who had filed sightings registered for the event. And central Louisianans continued filing their reports.

 

Wynne has transcribed these reports in his book, "It Came From Outer Space!: Flying Saucers Visits To Louisiana," for which he did extensive research not only on the conference but the sightings.

"The mass sightings were only for a short period, from August to December in 1947," Wynne said. "Adras had scheduled the conference for December of that year.

Alexandria was considered the UFO capital of the world, and it's kind of ridiculous to have called off the conference because they only had two out-of-state people who signed up between 60 and 80 in-state people who had committed to it."

 

A phenomenon in the sky

But, as noted in Wynne's book, sightings were taking place throughout the state, one as far back as 1801.

"The first documented sighting was in a letter sent to Thomas Jefferson in 1801," Wynne said. "And that sighting was in Baton Rouge."

 

The letter was from Natchez, Mississippi, resident Thomas Dunbar, who sent it about a month before Jefferson's presidential inauguration. Jefferson also was serving as president of the American Philosophical Society, which was founded by Benjamin Franklin.

The organization published Dunbar's letter in Volume 6 of its newsletter, "Transactions of the American Philosophical Society."

"Dunbar was a member of the society and was also a diligent investigator of natural phenomena in the lower Louisiana region, which, at the time, was still Spanish territory," Wynne said.

The phenomenon allegedly passed in Baton Rouge at night on April 5, 1800. Dunbar's description of the sighting is detailed:

 

"It was first seen in the South West, and moved so rapidly, passing over the heads of the spectators, as to disappear in the North East in about a quarter of a minute. It appeared to be of the size of a large house, 70 or 80 feet long. …

"It appeared to be about 200 yards above the surface of the earth, wholly luminous, but not emitting sparks; of a colour resembling the sun near the horizon in a cold frosty evening, which may be called a crimson red.

When passing right over the heads of the spectators, the light on the surface of the earth, was little short of the effect of sun-beams, though at the same time, looking another way, the stars were visible, which appears to be a confirmation of the opinion formed of its moderate elevation.

In passing, a considerable degree of heat was felt but no electric sensation."

 

The Air Force gets involved

The object was seen crashing in a wooded area, but caused no cataclysmic damage. Could it have been a meteorite? Wynne says no.

"It is believed that what Dunbar describes, if accurate, was not a meteorite, because an object of this size, entering Earth's atmosphere at a speed typical of objects falling to earth from space, would have left a much larger trace of itself," Wynne said.

"For example, scientists estimate the size of the iron meteor that created Arizona's Meteor Crater at roughly 50 meters."

 

As for the reason for the influx of 1940s UFO sightings in central Louisiana, Wynne said there is no definitive explanation.

The area was home to England Air Force Base, which logged the reports through the Air Force's Project Blue Book, which have recently been released by the National Archives.

 

"And the sightings were extremely detailed, not only the statements from the people, but also in how the Air Force addresses these cases," Wynne said. "And then the Air Force, in turn, investigated the people who reported the sightings."

Wynne also researched data from the National UFO Reporting Center, which documented reports from throughout Louisiana.

"It's just raw data that hasn't been investigated," he said.

 

Flying objects with orange lights

Finally, he zeroed in on central Louisiana through The Town Talk's barrage of news reports.

"The Air Force would just downplay them, saying, 'Oh, there was a weather balloon or there were airplanes in the area, and we can't talk about it at this time," Wynne said.

"But the accounts just proliferated from, from '47 through as late as 1955. In fact, the sightings became so overwhelming that they became old hat. People stopped paying attention, and it just died out."

 

That is, until 1978, when Steven Spielberg's "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" hit movie theaters.

"That reinvigorated the sightings," Wynne said. "People weren't embarrassed to talk about them anymore."

 

Looking now at all the descriptions, Wynne has found a running theme — most people identified the flying objects as saucer-shaped with orange lights.

Did they really see these spaceships? Well, the people who saw them apparently believed it, so much that they were willing to bear witness at a national conference.

Gun jams as shoplifting suspect tries to shoot Ohio police officer at point-blank range in wild bodycam video

 

Shane Newman allegedly drew pistol and took aim, but the weapon malfunctioned before he was disarmed

 

Newman suddenly turned, pulled out a gun and attempted to shoot the officer as the woman screamed, "No, no, no!" A clicking sound could be heard as Newman apparently pulled the trigger.

 

The Walmart worker immediately jumped on Newman in an effort to restrain him, but Newman raised the gun again and attempted to fire a second time and another click could be heard.

 

The worker then knocked the gun from Newman's hands as the officer drew his weapon and shouted, "Get back! Get back!"

 

The officer then took control of matters and pinned Newman to the floor until additional police arrived. Both suspects were taken into custody.

The document, originally requested under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) case 09-F-1583 in 2009, and partially released in 2014, contained multiple redactions under FOIA exemption (b)(2), primarily concerning internal personnel rules and practices of an agency.

However, following a 2016 case filed by The Black Vault to request a re-review under 16-F-1727, the document has now been released in full, with no redactions.

 

Exemption (b)(2) is often cited to protect sensitive information related to internal rules, processes, and management of an agency, particularly when disclosure would risk circumvention of those rules.

In the original release of the document, these redactions appeared throughout, obscuring details of how JPOTF headquarters operate during psychological operations (PSYOP), including its organizational structure, training methodology, and mission-related tasks.

 

The 2016 re-review of the document resulted in a full release with no redactions. This version, now available for download below, includes significant information previously withheld.

The document, titled “Joint Psychological Operations Task Force Headquarters Master Training Guide,” provides comprehensive guidance for military leaders on training and organizing PSYOP units.

DHS Locates Nearly 130,000 Unaccompanied Missing Children, Says Noem

 

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Health and Human Services have located over 129,143 unaccompanied illegal immigrant children whom the prior administration had lost track of, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said in a Dec. 19 post on X.

 

“Too many of these children were exploited, trafficked, and abused,” Noem wrote. “We will continue to ramp up efforts and will not stop until every last child is found.”

Blanche earlier responded to accusations that the DOJ is overredacting the Epstein files and removing photos of President Trump, explaining that “A judge in New York has ordered us to listen to any victim or victim rights group if they have any concerns about the material that we’re putting up.”

One-third of PG&E customers in city lose electricity with significant transit disruptions and traffic jams reported

 

A massive power outage plunged large swaths of San Francisco into darkness Saturday, knocking out electricity to about 130,000 homes and businesses and leaving self-driving cars stalled in city streets.

 

Pacific Gas and Electric Co. did not immediately say what caused blackouts to roughly one-third of the utility company’s customers in the city. Fire officials posted on X at about 3:15 p.m. that at least some of the blackouts were caused by a fire that broke out inside a PG&E substation at 8th and Mission streets.

 

The outage darkened large parts of the city’s north side, starting in the Richmond and Presidio neighborhoods and areas around Golden Gate Park early in the afternoon before spreading further.

 

PG&E said in an update Sunday morning that damage from the fire in its substation was "significant and extensive," noting that repairs and restoration would be "complex."

 

"At this time, we are unable to provide a precise timeframe for full restoration but will provide additional detail and information as our assessment and repair efforts continue," the utility said in the update posted on X.

South African immigration services are notoriously corrupt and often require extensive bribes to process work permits.

 

The U.S. staffers worked for a Kenya-based company, RSC Africa, which is operated by U.S. faith-based Church World Service in cooperation with the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program.

 

The U.S. State Department condemned “in the strongest terms the South African government’s recent detention of U.S. officials performing their duties to provide humanitarian support to Afrikaners”.

 

The Trump administration has engaged in a diplomatic war of words with the far-left South African government since February 7, announcing a Refugee Resettlement Program for “Afrikaners in South Africa who are victims of unjust racial discrimination,” as President Trump announced in an Executive Order.

43 critically missing children recovered during ‘Operation Northern Lights’ in North Florida

From a 13-year-old missing for 8 months to a 1-year-old missing from Leon County, a total of 43 children, all reported as critically missing, have been found.

Before the metaphorical ink had dried, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard pounced, condemning the story as "a lie and propaganda" on behalf of "warmongers" seeking to derail President Trump's drive to end the long and bloody Ukraine war.

 

From selling the Iraq invasion to achieving a news and social media lockdown on Hunter Biden's laptop, the Deep State has long used major media outlets like Reuters, the New York Times and Washington Post to inject their agenda-advancing narratives into America's town square. VATICAN CITY (CNS) — Established almost 500 years ago, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith is no longer “the Inquisition” — rather, its main focus is handing down the teachings of the apostles, said the office’s prefect.

 

“Our mission is to promote and protect the doctrine of the faith. It is a task that will always be necessary for the church, which has the duty to transmit the teaching of the apostles to the next generation,” Cardinal Luis Ladaria Ferrer, congregation prefect, told Vatican News Feb. 1.

 

Called the Sacred Roman and Universal Inquisition when it was instituted in 1542, the congregation was initially a tribunal exclusively for cases of heresy and schism, but soon its responsibilities were expanded to include “everything relating directly or indirectly to faith and morals,” according to the congregation’s website.

 

Of the many people examined in the early days, the one mentioned most often is Italian scientist Galileo Galilei, who was found “vehemently suspect of heresy.” St. John Paul II issued a declaration in 1992, recognizing the error of Galileo’s trial.

 

The Index of Forbidden Books was originally entrusted to the Inquisition until it became its own congregation for three centuries until 1917 when its duties were again handed back to the Sacred Congregation of the Holy Office — the Inquisition’s new name after it was reorganized by Pope Pius X in 1908.

 

It was again reformed in 1965 by St. Paul VI and renamed the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. The Index of Prohibited Books was also abrogated.

 

Cardinal Ladaria told Vatican News, “The past of our congregation still weighs heavily, since we have not always acknowledged the profound changes that have taken place in the church and in the Roman Curia in recent times.”

 

“We are no longer the Inquisition; the index no longer exists,” he said.

 

“What was called the ‘concern for correct doctrine’ came about before the Holy Office, it already existed in the New Testament” and it can be seen in the many councils and synods held since, he added.

 

“Certainly, the concrete way of carrying out this task has changed over the course of the centuries and we can imagine that it will continue to change,” the cardinal said. “But the concern for fidelity to the doctrine of the apostles will always remain.”

 

According to the office’s website, the methods used for doctrinal examination were updated in the 1965 reforms, emphasizing that “over the punitive tendency of condemnation, the positive disposition of correcting from the errors, together with protection, preservation and promotion of the faith, prevailed.”

 

In 2001, St. John Paul II charged the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith with the authority to handle cases of accusations of the sexual abuse of minors by clergy and an updated version of these norms was promulgated by Pope Benedict XVI in 2010.

 

The changes allowed the Vatican to identify and judge reported cases and issue sanctions more rapidly than had been the case before.

 

Regarding this aspect of the congregation’s work, Cardinal Ladaria said, “We must study and resolve the many cases of abuse of which we become aware.”

 

“And in dealing with these cases, we raise awareness, we support trust in the church, of the people involved, showing that in the church there is no impunity,” he said.

 

He said the “ad limina visits,” which bishops from around the world make periodically to the Vatican to report on the state of their dioceses, “are fundamental to raising awareness of the problem among the episcopates of the various countries. Unfortunately, in recent months, because of the pandemic, we have had to suspend these meetings.”

 

Even with its focus on “doctrine,” he said the congregation still seeks to respond to Pope Francis’ call to reach out and respond to modern-day “peripheries” and to be close to the poor and marginalized.

 

“There are peripheries of many kinds. The people we must listen to, the problems we must solve touch real peripheries, perhaps not as visible as others, but no less real and painful. Let us not forget that in not a few circumstances the victims of abuse are among the poorest of the poor,” he said.

Founded in 1999 by French media publisher Christophe Leclercq, the reputable Brussels-based outlet focuses on EU policy and says it aims to “unpack the complexities of EU politics, policies, and legislation.”

 

Brussels has long faced criticism over restrictions on free speech and the marginalization of independent voices, including from US Vice President J.D. Vance, who has warned that free expression across Europe is “in retreat.”

 

During his speech at the Munich Security Conference in February, Vance accused EU governments of “running in fear” from their own people, arguing that the main threat to democracy does not come from Russia and China, but from abandoning fundamental democratic values.

Pfizer mRNA Found in Over 88% of Human Placentas, Sperm, and Blood — and in 50% of Unvaccinated Pregnant Women

 

For years, the public was told a simple story: the mRNA “stays in the arm,” degrades within hours, never enters the bloodstream, never crosses the placenta, never reaches the reproductive system, and certainly cannot be shed or transferred to others. These claims were repeated endlessly by agencies, fact-checkers, news outlets, and medical institutions, despite the fact that no long-term human biodistribution studies had ever been performed.

 

A new peer-reviewed study published in Annals of Case Reports titled, Detection of Pfizer BioNTech Messenger RNA COVID-19 Vaccine in Human Blood, Placenta and Semen, ends that narrative.

 

Researchers from Bar-Ilan University and several Israeli medical centers used nested PCR combined with Sanger sequencing—a far more sensitive and specific method than the standard qPCR used in earlier studies—to test for Pfizer mRNA in human tissues from 34 participants, including 22 pregnant women, 4 male sperm donors (8 samples), and 8 additional adults.

 

Their findings are deeply worrisome: 88% of pregnant women vaccinated within the last 100 days showed detectable Pfizer mRNA in both blood and placental tissue. Among male sperm donors, 100% of those who produced sperm had vaccine mRNA in their sperm cells, and 50% had it detectable in seminal fluid—long after vaccination.

 

Even more concerning, Pfizer mRNA was detected in 50% of the unvaccinated women tested —two in both placenta and blood, and one in blood alone; a result that forces the scientific community to confront the reality of shedding, something officials categorically deny.

 

Most striking of all, mRNA was still present in 50% of individuals more than 200 days after injection.

 

This is the clearest evidence to date that the injection does not degrade “within hours”—but instead persists, circulates, and deposits into human reproductive and fetal tissues.

 

The implications are enormous.

In response to concerns raised by many Israeli officials about Trump discussing only the nuclear threat and neglecting the ballistic missile threat, he stated, "That's changing. We cannot allow Iran to produce ballistic missiles because they could overwhelm the Iron Dome. It's a major threat."

 

Speaking ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s anticipated meeting with US President Donald Trump, Graham said his visit was intended to sharpen American focus on Iran’s missile production - an issue he believes must move to the top tier of US-Israel strategic priorities.

 

“My takeaway from this trip is simple,” Graham said. “Hamas is regenerating. Iran is regenerating. Hezbollah is trying to build more weapons. We hit them hard, but they’re trying to come back - and on the missile side, that’s a real threat to Israel.”

 

Graham said Iran is producing ballistic missiles “in very high numbers,” warning that a future conflict would likely focus on that capability in order to overwhelm Israel’s air defenses. “They were degraded before, but if there is another attack, it would be focused on their ballistic missile capability so they can’t overwhelm Iron Dome,” he said.

Asked whether Washington should view the missile threat as strategic to the United States as well, Graham left little room for ambiguity. “Anything that weakens Israel weakens America,” he said. “What Israel provides us in terms of national security infrastructure - the Mossad, Shin Bet, the IDF - we could not replicate. The money we provide to Israel is a small fraction of what we get in return.”

 

He dismissed growing debates within parts of the Republican Party questioning the value of the alliance. “That’s a silly debate,” he said. “Israel is a great ally. When the Jewish state is under threat from Iran, America is under threat from Iran.”

 

Graham stopped short of calling for regime change by force, but made clear he wants Iran’s leadership severely weakened. "I think the people of Iran will do it," he said. “I want to destroy their capability to produce ballistic missiles. I want to make sure they can never enrich one ounce of uranium or plutonium,” he said. “And I want their proxies - Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis - dealt with effectively.”

 

Without Iran, he argued, none of those groups could survive. “They’re a fanatical regime. They oppress their own people. I pray for this regime to fall - but I’m not advocating an American invasion of Iran.”

 

There can be no peace, while Hamas is armed

Graham reiterated his long-standing view that peace is impossible as long as Hamas remains armed. “There can be no peace between the West Bank, Gaza, and Israel with Hamas armed. It’s non-negotiable,” he said, calling for a clear ultimatum. “Give them 60 days. If they don’t disarm, Israel should be allowed to finish them off.”

PARIS, Dec 21 (Reuters) – President Emmanuel Macron confirmed on Sunday plans to build a new, larger and more modern aircraft carrier to replace the aging Charles de Gaulle carrier and strengthen France’s maritime power.

 

The program, known as “Porte-Avions Nouvelle Génération” (PANG), is predicted to cost around 10.25 billion euros ($12 billion).

 

The French government said the new vessel would be operational by 2038, when the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier is expected to retire. Work on nuclear propulsion components began last year, and the final order must be placed under the 2025 budget.

 

The PANG, which would be the largest warship ever built in Europe, is central to France’s nuclear deterrent and Europe’s drive for greater defense autonomy amid Russia’s war in Ukraine and U.S. President Donald Trump’s reluctance to support the continent’s security.

 

MACRON SPEAKING TO TROOPS

Macron was speaking to troops based at a French military base in Abu Dhabi located near the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial chokepoint for global oil flows.

 

“The decision to launch this vast program was taken this week,” Macron said, adding that the project would boost France’s industrial base, in particular small and medium-sized businesses.

 

Army Minister Catherine Vautrin said on X the carrier would enter operation in 2038 to replace the Charles de Gaulle, which entered service in 2001 after 15 years of planning and construction.

 

Some French lawmakers from the center and the moderate left have recently suggested that the project to build a new aircraft carrier be postponed due to France’s strained state finances.

 

EUROPEAN CARRIER CAPABILITIES

France, the EU’s only nuclear power, is among the few European nations owning an aircraft carrier alongside Britain, Italy and Spain.

 

European capabilities remain limited compared with the United States’ fleet of 11 carriers and China’s three.

Navy Turns to Coast Guard Cutter Design for New Frigate Class

The U.S. Navy announced Friday a strategic shift in its surface combatant procurement, unveiling plans for a new frigate class based on Huntington Ingalls Industries’ Legend-Class National Security Cutter design following the cancellation of four Constellation-class vessels.

 

Secretary of the Navy John C. Phelan confirmed the service will acquire the FF(X) frigate using what he described as an accelerated approach designed to deliver combat power faster than traditional shipbuilding programs.

 

“To deliver at speed and scale, I’ve directed the acquisition of a new frigate class based on HII’s Legend-Class National Security Cutter design: a proven, American-built ship that has been protecting U.S. interests at home and abroad,” Phelan said in the announcement. “President Trump and the Secretary of War have signed off on this as part of the Golden Fleet. Our goal is clear: launch the first hull in the water in 2028.”

 

The decision comes as the Navy grapples with mounting delays in the Constellation-class program. On November 25, the service announced it would terminate four ships from the troubled program before construction begins, while allowing the first two vessels to proceed at Fincantieri Marinette Marine’s Wisconsin shipyard.

 

The lead Constellation-class ship, originally scheduled for delivery in April 2026, is now expected three years later in April 2029—a delay that has raised concerns about fleet modernization timelines.

 

Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Daryl Caudle emphasized the advantages of leveraging an existing design rather than developing a new platform from scratch.

 

“Like the Medium Landing Ship, leveraging a complete design and production baseline approach will allow the Navy and shipbuilders to reduce costs, schedule and technical risk,” Caudle said. “We know this Frigate design works, we know it operates with the Fleet, and most importantly, we know how to build it now.”

 

The FF(X) will serve as a smaller, more agile surface combatant designed to complement larger multi-mission warships. While its primary mission will focus on surface warfare, the vessel’s modular payload capacity and ability to command unmanned systems will enable it to execute a broad spectrum of operations.

 

The Navy plans to use a lead yard and competitive follow-on strategy for multi-yard construction to expand production capacity across the maritime industrial base. Shipyards will be evaluated on a single metric: delivering combat power to the fleet as quickly as possible.

 

HII said its Ingalls Shipbuilding yard will serve as the Navy’s prime designer and builder for the program. The ships will be built on Ingalls’ existing production lines alongside destroyers and amphibious vessels, using the same construction sequence employed for the Coast Guard’s NSC program. “Speed matters, and the NSC ship design is stable and producible and will lead to predictable schedules,” said HII President and CEO Chris Kastner, adding that the company is confident Ingalls can execute the program while continuing to expand the U.S. shipbuilding industrial base.

 

The Constellation program’s troubles mirror challenges identified by the Government Accountability Office across multiple naval shipbuilding efforts. A May 2024 GAO report noted the Navy’s decision to begin construction before completing ship design was “inconsistent with leading ship design practices” and warned that design delays had created “mounting construction delays.”

 

Following the Constellation cancellation, Fincantieri Marine Group stated it expects to receive new orders for other vessel classes, including amphibious, icebreaking, and special missions vessels. The company emphasized that the agreement with the Navy guarantees continuity and workload visibility for its workforce of approximately 3,750 skilled workers across four U.S. shipyards.

 

The FF(X) announcement represents the latest in a series of federal shipbuilding program alterations under the Trump administration, which has also cancelled the Coast Guard’s planned eleventh Legend-class National Security Cutter at Huntington Ingalls and partially shut down the troubled Offshore Patrol Cutter program at Eastern Shipbuilding. The most recent vessel in the Legend-class, USCGC Calhoun (WMSL-759), entered service in April 2024.

 

These decisions come as U.S. naval and Coast Guard leaders warn that the nation’s shipyards and industrial base lag significantly behind China’s maritime production capacity.

Alessandro Moreschi (11 November 1858 – 21 April 1922) was an Italian chorister of the late 19th century and the only castrato to make solo recordings.[1]

 

 

A castrato (Italian; pl.: castrati) is a male singer who underwent castration before puberty in order to retain a singing voice equivalent to that of a soprano, mezzo-soprano, or contralto. The voice can also occur in one who, due to an endocrinological condition, never reaches sexual maturity.

Castrati first appeared in Italy in the mid-16th century, though at first the terms describing them were not always clear. The phrase soprano maschio (male soprano), which could also mean falsettist, occurs in the Due Dialoghi della Musica (Two dialogues upon music) of Luigi Dentice, an Oratorian priest, published in Rome in 1553. On 9 November 1555 Cardinal Ippolito II d'Este (famed as the builder of the Villa d'Este at Tivoli), wrote to Guglielmo Gonzaga, Duke of Mantua (1538–1587), that he has heard that the Duke was interested in his cantoretti (little singers) and offered to send him two, so that he could choose one for his own service. This is a rare term but probably does equate to castrato.[7] The Cardinal's nephew, Alfonso II d'Este, Duke of Ferrara, was another early enthusiast, inquiring about castrati in 1556. There were certainly castrati in the Sistine Chapel choir in 1558, although not described as such: on 27 April of that year, Hernando Bustamante, a Spaniard from Palencia, was admitted (the first castrati so termed who joined the Sistine choir were Pietro Paolo Folignato and Girolamo Rossini, admitted in 1599).[7] Surprisingly, considering the later French distaste for castrati, they certainly existed in France at this time also, being known of in Paris, Orléans, Picardy and Normandy, though they were not abundant: the King of France himself had difficulty in obtaining them.[7] By 1574, there were castrati in the Ducal court chapel at Munich, where the Kapellmeister (music director) was the famous Orlando di Lasso. In 1589, by the bull Cum pro nostro pastorali munere, Pope Sixtus V re-organised the choir of St Peter's, Rome specifically to include castrati.[8][9]

 

Thus the castrati came to supplant both boys (whose voices broke after only a few years) and falsettists (whose voices were weaker and less reliable) from the top line in such choirs. Women were banned by the Pauline dictum mulieres in ecclesiis taceant ("let women keep silent in the churches"; see I Corinthians, ch. 14, v. 34).
