After more than 20 years of failed attempts, we finalized a plan to permanently close the FBI’s Hoover headquarters and move the workforce into a safe, modern facility. Working directly with President Trump and Congress, we accomplished what no one else could.

 

When we arrived, taxpayers were about to be on the hook for nearly $5 billion for a new headquarters that wouldn’t open until 2035. We scrapped that plan. Instead, we selected the already-existing Reagan Building, saving billions and allowing the transition to begin immediately with required safety and infrastructure upgrades already underway. Once complete, most of the HQ FBI workforce will move in, and the rest are continuing in our ongoing push to put more manpower in the field, where they will remain.

 

This decision puts resources where they belong: defending the homeland, crushing violent crime, and protecting national security. It delivers better tools for today’s FBI workforce at a fraction of the cost.

 

The Hoover Building will be shut down permanently.

2- Their condemnation in the strongest terms of such recognition, which constitutes a grave violation of the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, which explicitly stipulates the imperative of protecting the sovereignty of states and their territorial integrity, and reflects Israel’s expansionist.

 

3- Full support of the sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Somalia, and the unequivocal rejection of any measures that undermine the unity of Somalia, its territorial integrity or its sovereignty over its entire territory.

 

4- The recognition of parts of states constitutes a serious precedent and threatens international peace and security, and violates the cardinal principles of international law and the United Nations Charter.

Massachusetts bill would give workers a heads up before ICE audits

 

BOSTON — A bill is making its way through the Massachusetts State House that would require employers to notify workers ahead of an I-9 audit, allowing any hired illegal immigrants the chance to avoid federal probes into employment eligibility and their individual immigration status.

 

The bill, “An Act to Notify Employees of an I-9 Audit” (S. 2665), was filed by state Sen. Jason Lewis, a Democrat, and would require all employers in Massachusetts to provide workers with a visible notice when an I-9 employment eligibility inspection is scheduled by the Department of Homeland Security, or DHS, forcing employers to provide this notification at least three days in advance of an inspection.

 

“Except as required by federal law, an employer is required to notify current employees by posting notice of an inspection of I-9 employment eligibility verification forms or other employment records conducted by a government agency within 72 hours of receiving the federal notice of inspection,” the legislation reads.

 

If passed, employers would face fines ranging between $200 and $500 for failing to provide the proper notification of an inspection to employees.

 

Under federal law, U.S. employers are required to verify the identity and work authorization of every employee they hire using what is known as a Form I-9, which is retained by the employer and made available for federal inspection upon request.

 

The requirement dates to the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, signed by then-President Ronald Reagan, which made it illegal for employers to knowingly hire unauthorized workers.

 

I-9 inspections are conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement or its investigative arm, Homeland Security Investigations. While audits are aimed at employer compliance, they can expose employees not authorized to legally work in the U.S.

 

Sen. Lewis’ bill was co-sponsored by fellow Democratic Sens. Jamie Eldridge, Jo Commerford and Rebecca Rausch.

Trump Kennedy Center President Ric Grenell is filing a lawsuit against a jazz musician who abruptly canceled this year’s annual “Christmas Eve Jazz Jam” due to Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).

Musician Chuck Redd, this year’s host of the annual Christmas Eve concert, canceled the event following the Center’s board voting unanimously to rename the institution, “The Donald J. Trump and The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.” “When I saw the name change on the Kennedy Center website and then hours later on the building, I chose to cancel our concert,” Redd told the Associated Press Wednesday, hours before the event was scheduled to take place.

Grenell, who has worked assiduously to restore the struggling institution, is not taking the politically motivated cancellation lying down.“Your dismal ticket sales and lack of donor support, combined with your last-minute cancellation has cost us considerably,” Grenell wrote Friday in a letter to Redd obtained by Breitbart News. “This is your official notice that we will seek $1 million in damages from you for this political stunt.”

Grenell hammed the artist for hurting an institution created to promote the arts throughout the nation, not to serve as an insulated haven for liberal elites.

“Your decision to withdraw at the last moment — explicitly in response to the Center’s recent renaming, which honors President Trump’s extraordinary efforts to save this national treasure —is classic intolerance and very costly to a non-profit Arts institution,” he wrote. “Regrettably, your action surrenders to the sad bullying tactics employed by certain elements on the left, who have sought to intimidate artists into boycotting performances at our national cultural center.”

Roma Daravi, Trump Kennedy Center Vice President of Public Relations, echoed Grenell, hammering Redd for elevating petty political grievances above art.

“Any artist cancelling their show at the Trump Kennedy Center over political differences isn’t courageous or principled — they are selfish, intolerant, and have failed to meet the basic duty of a public artist: to perform for all people,” Daravi said in a statement. “Art is a shared cultural experience meant to unite, not exclude. The Trump Kennedy Center is a true bipartisan institution that welcomes artists and patrons from all backgrounds — great art transcends politics, and America’s cultural center remains committed to presenting popular programming that inspires and resonates with all audiences.”

Grenell’s letter highlighted the lack of enthusiasm for Redd’s show, noting that “attendance for your Jazz Jam had been lagging considerably behind our other Christmas and holiday offerings, which have drawn strong crowds and enthusiastic response,” adding “the most avant-garde and well-regarded performers in your genre will still perform regularly, and unlike you, they’ll do it to sold out crowds regardless of their political leanings.”

The Center has long been a sanctuary for the ultra-liberal to gather and worship Democratic Party causes and radical social initiatives like DEI and the transgender agenda.

Prior leadership of the Trump Kennedy Center displayed a pattern of booking artists that betrayed its greater interest in politics than artistry. Redd’s cancellation for political reasons, one of many by leftwing performers, is just the latest example. In February, multiple leftwing stars departed the Center after Trump appointed himself chairman.

Yet while the center propped up Democrats, Democrats did not return the favor. Grenell, appointed Trump Kennedy Center President in January, inherited poorly maintained and outdated physical facilities and finances in perhaps even worse shape.

Khalil al-Hayya, a Palestinian politician, is expected to beat out Hamas chief Khaled Mashaal in an election for head of the groups political bureau, which could be decided in the coming days, sources told Saudi Arabian outlet Asharq reported.

 

al-Hayya is considered to be close to Iran, according to those same sources who told the outlet he would have a clearly adversarial stance toward Israel — as a tenuous Gaza peace deal hangs in the balance.

 

The election is held among Hamas’ general Shura council, composed of 50 members. It was originally scheduled for earlier this year, but the terror group “ruled out” holding the vote until the war completely ends, sources told Asharq.

 

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is planning to travel to Mar-a-Lago Monday where he is expected to pitch President Trump on a plan to launch new strikes against Tehran.

 

Israeli sources claim that the Islamic Republic is repairing its air defense systems and rebuilding its ballistic missile program, both of which were destroyed by airstrikes during the war, according to an NBC report.

 

The Florida powwow also is believed to be crucial to the Gaza deal, with top White House aides believing Netanyahu is sabotaging the peace framework, Axios reported.

 

“It’s felt for some time like the Israelis have buyer’s remorse,” an anonymous White House official told the outlet. “Implementing the Gaza deal is hard enough, but the Israelis sometimes do things that make it even harder.”

 

Netanyahu remains skeptical of the plan to demilitarize Gaza, anonymous Israeli officials told Axios.

BREAKING: A massive 36-inch underground natural gas pipeline rupture sent high-pressure gas spewing into the air across the Santa Clarita Valley moments ago, prompting emergency evacuations and shelter-in-place orders in the Castaic area.
