Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC) announced on Wednesday that she is moving to subpoena U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, accusing the Department of Justice of withholding critical evidence related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.

 

In a statement posted to X, Mace directly challenged Bondi’s previous assertions that the federal government had made all relevant Epstein documents public. According to Mace, the current record proves that a significant portion of the evidence remains hidden from the American people and the victims of Epstein’s sex trafficking network.

 

“AG Bondi claims the DOJ has released all of the Epstein files. The record is clear: they have not,” Mace stated.

UFO-linked Air Force general's disappearance takes mysterious new twist amid 'sighting' in New Mexico

New details have emerged in the mysterious disappearance of a retired US Air Force general, including a possible sighting near a popular New Mexico trail.

William Neil McCasland, 68, was last seen around 11am local time on Friday near Quail Run Court NE in Albuquerque, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office.

Friends say McCasland left home without his watch or phone, unusual for the avid hiker and cyclist. They noted he recently completed a 60-mile bike ride and is known to frequent La Luz and nearby trail systems.

A woman on Facebook who said she had reported the information to authorities claimed she may have seen someone matching McCasland’s description around the same time he went missing on Friday near the Whitewash trailhead in Piedra Lisa Canyon.

 

In a post shared with the Albuquerque Trail Running Crew group, the woman named Mj Davis said the man was standing off to the side near a bridge over the arroyo at the start of the trail.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), which is leading the search, later responded in the same thread, reminding users to report tips directly to investigators, but did not publicly dispute the sighting.

McCasland's wife, Susan, posted on Facebook that he vanished midday on Friday, and there has been no sign of him since. '[It] does not seem to have been foul play at all,' Susan added. The Daily Mail has contacted Susan for comment.

 

A veteran of Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico, McCasland previously led both the Phillips Research Site and the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson in Ohio.

Some UFO enthusiasts have linked those facilities to secret studies of advanced aerospace technology and unexplained phenomena, though officials maintain they focus on national security and experimental defense projects.

The New Mexico Search and Rescue told Daily Mail that teams 'were involved in a mission looking for him in the Albuquerque Open Space area Sunday through Monday.'

 

Several of McCasland's have shared details about the retired general online, with many saying that he is physically fit and a knowledgeable outdoorsman.

His Facebook page is filled with pictures showing him skiing and hiking in the mountains of New Mexico.

However, the BCSO issued a Silver Alert, a public notification used to help locate missing seniors or individuals with certain medical conditions, shortly after McCasland went missing.

'Due to his medical issues, law enforcement is concerned for his safety,' the office said.

 

Daily Mail contacted BCSO and was referred to a statement issued on Tuesday, which says it is coordinating with partners at Kirtland Air Force Base to expand outreach and speed information-sharing that may assist in locating.

Sheriff John Allen said: 'Our priority is finding Mr. McCasland safely.

'Our investigators and search teams are working continuously, and we’re coordinating closely with our local, state, and federal partners.'

'We’re asking the public to help by checking and preserving any security camera footage from the area and reporting any information immediately.'

The FBI told the Daily Mail on Monday that they are also involved in the hunt, but that the Sheriff’s Department is leading the search.

‘The FBI Albuquerque Field Office is involved in this investigation, as it is standard practice for the FBI to assist our local law enforcement partners if we have a tool, tactic, or technique that could benefit their investigations,’ a spokesperson said.

‘The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) is leading this investigation.’

Declassified documents from over three decades ago have revealed how an encounter with a suspected UFO at the south pole was covered up.

The records unsealed this year by Argentina's Ministry of Foreign Affairs have confirmed an eyewitness account from 1991, when military personnel and civilian researchers in Antarctica detected and then saw a large flying saucer over their base.

Miguel Amaya, a retired Argentine Air Force non-commissioned officer, told UFO investigators in the early 2000s that he was stationed at General San Martín Base, a small scientific and military station on a tiny island in Antarctica in April of that year.

 

At the start of the polar night, when the sun stays down for months, an alarm went off on the station's riometer, a machine that measures changes in the upper atmosphere.

Despite the three needle pens measuring different heights of the ionosphere, the part of the atmosphere where solar radiation ionizes atoms, all of the needles began drawing the same pattern, which is scientifically impossible.

According to Amaya, outpost personnel claimed that the strange readings could only have been caused by something producing the same energy as a nuclear aircraft carrier or a large city floating over Antarctica.

 

Hours later, another base member was walking outside during a snowstorm when they allegedly saw 'a huge circle of light' moving slowly and silently right over the building.

The 1991 incident has finally come to light after Amaya claimed he and the other members at General San Martín Base were told never to talk about what they had seen by their superiors.

Over 120 feet of paper was reportedly used during the four-and-a-half hour incident at General San Martín Base, with Amaya revealing that the needles were moving so violently they went off the paper multiple times.

 

'This equipment started registering normally, but after five minutes, the three indicator needles began to make the same marks, which the engineer explained was impossible,' Amaya said in his CEFORA interview, translated to English.

'At times, these "signals" would cut out, and everything would continue as normal. Then, for periods of ten or fifteen minutes, it would start again, sometimes with such force that the needles would jump off the belt.'

The incredible readings started around 1am local time and carried on through the night. Roughly 16 hours later at 10pm, Amaya said a radio operator from the Argentine Army saw the mysterious craft as he left the base on a walk.

'He noticed a huge circle of light, very dim due to the cloud cover, passing above the base, but still visible, and moving very slowly and silently towards the sea,' Amaya claimed in his testimony.

'Now we are going to pursue other cases linked to Antarctica,' Simondini told Uno Entre Ríos.

'This is just the first test case we can verify under this method, and it raises expectations for the continued declassification of other files,' she stressed in a statement translated to English.

 

In the US, UFO disclosure has also reached a fever pitch, with President Trump ordering Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and the Pentagon to release all documents related to government investigations on the UFOs and extraterrestrial life.

To this point, however, the US has maintained that there has never been any physical evidence found proving that aliens or non-human spacecraft exist.

Mysterious 'glowing orange orbs' seen across parts of regional NSW

Wild theories have emerged as mysterious "glowing orange orbs" were seen in the sky across parts of the NSW Hunter region.

Residents north-west of Newcastle, between Singleton, Cessnock and East Maitland, reported seeing the display on Sunday night.

The lights appeared in the sky one by one and remained there before later disappearing.

 

Residents have speculated it could be anything from "aliens" to "government drones".

"Everyone should start packing their bags and run for the hills," one person said on social media.

Hunter MP Dan Repacholi has set the record straight and said the lights were part of a "totally normal" military exercise at the Singleton base.

"Look, I hate to disappoint but it wasn't ET popping into the Hunter for a cheeky wine tour," he said.

"What people were seeing were military illumination flares used during nighttime training exercises at the Singleton Base.

"They're dropped from aircraft with a small parachute attached and burn really bright for a few minutes while slowly drifting down.

"Because of the low cloud cover, the light reflects back down and makes them look like glowing orange orbs just hanging there in the sky."

 

The Australian Defence Force previously announced it would be conducting ground and air training exercises at the Singleton base between the hours of 8am and 11pm, starting last Wednesday February 25.

The exercises are expected to continue until December 15. 

"Members of the public should not be alarmed if they hear increased activity in the area during these periods," defence said.

"This essential training is vital to maintain Australia's military capability."

The Singleton base, which covers 14,000 hectares, includes the Lone Pine Barracks and the Training Area.

It is a key army training facility where all infantry soldiers undertake their initial training and is one of the country's major live-fire and tactical training ranges.

US Congressman: Crashed UFO is so big they built a building around it

Missouri Congressman Eric Burlison says he has heard reports of an alien ship crashing off the US, so large it can't be moved.

"I don't want to mention the place because I heard this in a closed meeting and I want to maintain my level of security," he added.

 

Speaking to Newsmax, Burlison expressed frustration that he had not been able to get a look at the alleged ship himself:

“It’s becoming increasingly difficult for me to access facilities that are just a few miles from my office in Washington.”

 

He added that if he found any irrefutable evidence of alien visitors, he would not hesitate to make it public:

"If I have absolutely definitive physical evidence or video, I will do my best to protect the national interest, but I will not hesitate to tell the American people whether or not we are alone in the universe."

 

In the interview, he was joined by renowned UFO researcher Dr. Steven Greer, who provided more details.

Renowned for his coaching tenures at Arkansas and Notre Dame, Hall of Fame college football coach Lou Holtz has unfortunately passed away on Wednesday at age 89.

 

Holtz was entered into a hospice facility back in January due to an undisclosed health issue.

 

Holtz was best known for his tremendous 33-year career, which saw him post a 249-132-7 record with stints at William & Mary, NC State, Arkansas, Minnesota, South Carolina and Notre Dame, where he won a title. He also coached at the NFL level with the New York Jets for one year.

 

The former head coach and ESPN personality was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2008.

 

His family released a statement on X on Wednesday, which was shared by the Notre Dame account.

Offshore wind vessel owner Edda Wind has entered into agreements for the potential sale of its entire fleet of service operation vessels (SOVs) and commissioning service operation vessels (CSOVs), including units under construction.

 

According to a stock exchange filing from Wilh Wilhelmsen, the fleet is set to be split between two buyers: UK-based North Star, a portfolio company of Partners Group, and an affiliate of Navigare Capital Partners.

 

Completion of the transaction is subject to inspections and other customary conditions, the company said in a filing.

 

Edda Wind has focused exclusively on purpose-built SOVs and CSOVs serving the offshore wind sector since 2015. The company currently owns and operates seven vessels – one SOV and six CSOVs – and has three additional CSOVs under construction.

 

Edda Wind was taken private in June 2025 by a consortium including John Fredriksen’s Geveran Trading, Idan Ofer’s EPS Ventures and Wilhelmsen New Energy.

 

The potential fleet sale comes after Danish operator Esvagt acquired two 2022-built SOVs, Breeze Enabler and Brint Enabler, from Edda Wind in December. If completed, the latest deal would mark a full exit from vessel ownership for Edda Wind.

SOUTH BEND — Lou Holtz, the hard-driving coach who in 1988 became the last to lead Notre Dame football to the national championship, died Wednesday, March 4. He was 89.

 

Multiple media outlets reported on Jan. 29 that Holtz was in hospice care.

 

Brash, direct and occasionally controversial during his 11 seasons on the Irish sideline from 1986-96, Holtz remained one of the leading proponents of Notre Dame’s football tradition, even in retirement.

 

“For those who know Notre Dame, no explanation is necessary,” Holtz liked to say. “For those who don’t, no explanation will suffice.”

 

The same could be said of Holtz, who had his share of detractors yet inspired fierce loyalty among his former players during a 33-year head coaching career that included stops at William & Mary (1969-71), N.C. State (1972-75), Arkansas (1977-83), Minnesota (1984-85) and South Carolina (1999-2004).

 

“We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Lou Holtz,” Notre Dame football coach Marcus Freeman said in a statement. “Lou and I shared a very special relationship. He welcomed me to the Notre Dame family immediately, offering me great support throughout our time together. Our relationship meant a lot to me as I admired the values he used to build the foundation of his coaching career: love, trust and commitment.”

They also let our nation’s cultural center crumble. Now, President Donald Trump is fixing another crisis Democrats left behind and the establishment media ignored: The Trump Kennedy Center will temporarily close on July 4, 2026, for two years to undergo long-overdue restoration.

 

On the nation’s 250th anniversary, the Trump Kennedy Center will cease performances to begin what is described as a historic overhaul of the United States’ premier arts institution. President Trump made the announcement via Truth Social, emphasizing that keeping the Center open during renovations would compromise both the pace and quality of the project. “The temporary closure will produce a much faster and higher quality result,” the president wrote, stating that the facility will reopen as “a World Class Bastion of Arts, Music, and Entertainment.”

 

“This is a self-inflicted crisis created by Trump,” said a staffer quoted in a Washington Post article later amplified by editor Josh Kraushaar. The Trump Kennedy Center leadership directly disputed this characterization.

 

Ambassador Ric Grenell, the Center’s president, addressed the Washington Post story’s author directly: “I asked the Post reporter if she knew what debt reserves were. She didn’t. She was reporting on an Arts Institution in financial crisis, paying staff with debt reserves, and didn’t even know what that meant. Reporters don’t care that they don’t know the subject matter they report on.”

 

He also criticized Kraushaar specifically, pointing to a broader issue he sees with establishment media: “Kraushaar sat silent while the Center went into disrepair and financial crisis. These types of political reporters in DC don’t understand basic finance or math.”

 

Grenell offered detailed insights into the deteriorating state of the facility and the urgent need for action during an interview with Katie Pavlich on NewsNation. “The place was falling apart, and people were telling us, ‘Tear it down and start over.’ I presented that to the president,” Grenell stated. He described President Trump’s personal inspection of the infrastructure: “We went all the way down into the basement. He looked at the floor, he looked at the sewer system, he looked at the pipes, and he immediately was like, ‘Why is that floor so dirty, and it’s never been cleaned, and that pipe has fallen apart. And look at the soffits are falling.’” Grenell added, “We had lawsuits … It was very dangerous.” Trump ultimately decided, “I don’t want to tear it down. Let’s rebuild it.”

 

Reflecting on the Trump Kennedy Center’s future, Grenell posted:

 

Our goal has always been to not only save and permanently preserve the Center, but to make it the finest Arts Institution in the world.

 

It desperately needs this renovation and temporarily closing the Center just makes sense – it will enable us to better invest our resources, think bigger and make the historic renovations more comprehensive. It also means we will be finished faster. President Trump has a reputation for delivering large construction projects on time, under budget and beautifully finished.

 

This will be a brief closure in retrospect – and I am confident this sets the stage for a stronger, revitalized National Cultural and Entertainment Complex.

 

Roma Daravi, the Center’s Vice President of Public Relations, reinforced this perspective in a statement to Breitbart News: “President Trump secured a historic $257 million investment from Congress to finally address decades of deferred maintenance at America’s premier arts institution. A temporary construction closure ensures taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly and efficiently, allowing for comprehensive restoration and beautification — once and for all.”

 

Daravi also shared on X: “This will be an intensive restoration and beautification project. With President Trump’s proven record of delivering projects under budget and ahead of schedule, the finished Center will reflect the true beauty of America. The short-term inconvenience of a temporary closure will result in a revitalized cultural landmark built to serve generations to come.”

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (7News) — The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement(ICE) slammed Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger for saying they should get a signed judicial warrant if they want to detain a man accused of stabbing and murdering a woman at a Fairfax County bus stop.

 

DHS said Spanberger is fighting to protect a murderer over American citizens.

 

“Sanctuary [Spanberger] is fighting to protect a MURDERER over American citizens,” DHS posted on X on Tuesday.

 

“This monster is responsible for fatally stabbing Stephanie Minter. ICE does NOT need judicial warrants to make arrests. The heroes of ICE will continue to arrest and remove criminal illegal aliens across the Commonwealth while Governor Spanberger RELEASES them from jails into Virginia communities to commit more crimes and create more victims.”

“After this criminal alien serves his sentence for MURDER, Governor Spanberger will release him back out onto Virginia’s streets, saying that ICE needs a signed “judicial warrant” to detain him,” ICE posted on X on Tuesday. “This is asinine and legally illiterate. ICE is empowered by federal law to detain illegal aliens, and state officials like Spanberger are REQUIRED to honor ICE detainers. Only a month into being governor, and she’s protecting illegal alien murderers. Disgusting.”

 

The response from the federal immigration agencies comeafter Spanberger’s told 7News on Monday, “As a former federal law enforcement officer who conducted joint search and arrest warrants alongside state and local officers, Governor Spanberger firmly believes that violent criminals who are in the United States illegallyshould be deported by immigration enforcement.DHS should request a signed judicial warrant to ensure this violent criminal is deported.”

 

Spanberger’s office sent 7News the statement after DHS called on the governor tocommit to honoring immigration detainers lodged against Abdul Jalloh after he was charged with murdering Stephanie Minter of Fredericksburg at a Fairfax County bus stop.

 

The man accused of murdering the Fredericksburg woman is a Sierra Leone National,who DHS said is in the country illegally. Jalloh is well known to Fairfax County prosecutors and police.

 

7News found Jalloh has had more than 40 charges against him in Fairfax County, ranging from rape, stabbings, assaults and more.

 

In almost every case, Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano dropped the charges against Jalloh, allowing him to go back into the community.

 

Does ICE need a signed judicial warrant?

 

Several legal experts 7News has spoken to say ICE does not need a judicial warrant to make an immigration arrest, and that local law enforcement requiring them is a choice.

Legal experts 7News spoke toagreed that ICE cannot go to a local Fairfax County judge to get a judicial warrant. However, ICE can go to a federal judge for a warrant, Ben Messer with the American Immigration Lawyers Association said.

 

“ICE can go to a federal judge, a federal district judge there in Virginia, and say this person is charged with this crime in the Commonwealth, and they probably can get access to some of the records that have been used to charge the guy and say,this is why, you know, we think he's dangerous,” Messer said.

 

But formerfederal prosecutor Zack Smith said ICE cannot get a federal warrant for a state crime, which is what Jalloh is charged with.

 

“Essentially, what thegovernor and others who support her position are doing is they're making it more difficult for ICE to do their jobs,” said Smith. “It could lead to some of these violent repeat offenders being released back onto the street before federal authorities can pick them up. And essentially, what this is designed to do is to throw additional roadblocks in the way of federal immigration authorities being able to effectively and safely do their jobs.”

 

“The governor says that ICE should get a judicial warrant if they want this guy. To some people, a judicial warrant might sound like a reasonable request, is it?” 7News Reporter Nick Minock asked Jonathan Fahey.

 

“That's what I think her tactic is to say something that sounds reasonable, but it's inherently not reasonable, and certainly not necessary,” said Fahey.

 

Fahey is a former federal prosecutor and a former Fairfax County prosecutor. He’s also a former Acting Director of ICE.

 

“It seems like if you went to a Fairfax judge [requesting a judicial warrant for an immigration arrest], they would say, this is a federal matter,” said Fahey. “If you went to a federal judge, and somehow they were able to do this, there would be a massive backlog in cases. In fact, they wouldn't be able to do anything else other than issue warrants and not do any of their other judicial responsibilities.”

 

ICE says no judge in the country has the authority to issue a warrant for a civil immigration violation.

The Ukrainian attack on a Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker in the Mediterranean Sea is a “terrorist act,” Russian President Vladimir Putin has said.

 

The Russia-flagged Arctic Metagaz was targeted this week close to Malta’s territorial waters. According to Russia’s Transport Ministry, Ukrainian unmanned boats launched from the Libyan coast hit the LNG carrier, which had been sailing from Murmansk. All 30 crew members were safely evacuated.

 

Putin said “this is terrorist attack” and added it’s not the first time that Russia has faced energy-related terrorism.

 

According to the Russian president, Kiev is now preparing, “with the support of some Western intelligence services, to sabotage the Blue Stream and TurkStream” gas pipelines running under the Black Sea, “just as the Nord Stream pipelines were once blown up.” He said it is “a very dangerous game” by Ukraine, adding that Moscow has already informed the Turkish side.

 

Oil and gas infrastructure in the Black Sea and beyond has repeatedly come under Ukrainian attacks. The attacks involved long-range UAV strikes against various facilities ashore, as well as repeated attempts to target Russian naval vessels patrolling the pipelines with sea drones.

 

The September 2022 bombing of the Nord Stream pipeline in the Baltic Sea is the largest attack on underwater energy infrastructure in modern history. While the theory that it was carried out by a group of Ukrainian divers has become mainstream in the West, Moscow has been skeptical about that version, suggesting instead that Western state actors may have had a hand in the sabotage.

 

In December 2025, Kiev acknowledged striking the Qendil, a Russia-linked and Omani-flagged oil tanker, in the eastern Mediterranean off Libya’s coast. At the time, Euronews cited a Ukrainian intelligence source describing the attack as “an unprecedented special operation.”

 

FSB chief Aleksandr Bortnikov warned last October that Ukraine and the UK were jointly preparing an attack on the TurkStream pipeline. London and Kiev have also been plotting attacks on other critical infrastructure sites in Russia, using sea and aerial drones, as well as saboteur divers, Bortnikov said at the time.

NY AG James Orders Hospital To Resume Gender-Transition Treatment For Minors

 

In a rare and controversial move, New York Attorney General Letitia James has ordered a Manhattan hospital to resume offering gender-transition treatment to transgender youth. NYU Langone had discontinued such treatments after funding threats from the Trump administration. It is now caught between the proverbial rock (HHS) and a hard place (NYAG).

 

Last year, President Donald Trump signed an executive order entitled “Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation,” seeking to restrict gender-transition treatment for people under 19. HHS then threatened hospitals with a cut off of federal Medicaid and Medicare funding for continuing such treatment for children.

 

Various European countries have also halted certain procedures after countervailing studies suggesting that the risks are too high. England’s National Health Service 2024 report on the subject, known as the Cass Report, found concerning evidence of harm for minors and inconclusive benefits.

 

James threatened “further action” if NYU Langone does not defy the Trump Administration, declaring that the cessation of its Transgender Youth Health Program violates New York anti-discrimination law by “jeopardizing access to medically necessary healthcare for some of the most vulnerable New Yorkers.”

 

NYU Langone had previously declared that it would no longer provide certain gender-transition treatments for patients under the age of 19.

 

James’s move could trigger a fascinating challenge. In the Feb. 25 letter signed by the attorney general’s health care bureau chief, Darsana Srinivasan, the state said that the federal regulatory change did not affect a “medical institution’s existing duties and obligations under New York law.” That raises an interesting conflict between state and federal regulations.

 

The letter gives the hospital until March 11 to comply and resume these treatments.

 

Effectively, James is ordering the hospital to defy the federal government. However, the hospital, not James or the state, would bear the financial and regulatory consequences.

Trump's Venezuela Oil Plan Runs Into Hard Reality

 

Last week US President Donald Trump announced that Venezuela’s interim authorities will turn over up to 50 million barrels of oil to the United States, before later declaring his administration will control Venezuela's oil sales “indefinitely”.

 

Decrying the state of Venezuela’s oil sector, including that the South American country now pumps a fraction of what it used to, Trump said, “We’re going to have our very large United States oil companies — the biggest anywhere in the world — go in, spend billions of dollars, fix the badly broken infrastructure, the oil infrastructure, and start making money for the country.”

 

While that sounds like a great opportunity for the US oil majors, it’s one they may want to refuse. Why? Because the oil underneath Venezuela, which has the largest crude reserves in the world, greater even than Saudi Arabia and Iran, is technically challenging to extract and costly.

 

Moreover, it’s uncertain whether there would a change in the way Venezuela and its oil industry are being run, which presents a huge political risk for companies to return and operate there.

 

Former President Hugo Chavez nationalized the oil industry in the 1990s, and in 2007, he forced Exxon and ConocoPhillips out, after the companies refused to accept new terms that would give the Venezuelan state oil company, PDVSA, a majority share in their projects.

 

ConocoPhillips is still owed about $10 billion.

 

Only Chevron is currently authorized to operate in Venezuela and export crude to the United States.

 

“Until Caracas has a new government capable of gaining the confidence of international investors and banks, oil companies will be reluctant to make any major commitments,” states a recent Reuters piece.

 

When Trump met with oil executives last Friday, Exxon’s CEO Darren Woods said, “We’ve had our assets seized there twice, and so you can imagine to re-enter a third time would require some pretty significant changes.”

 

Trump has said the US government is prepared to provide security guarantees but not money for oil projects.

 

How much oil does Venezuela have?

 

A founding member of OPEC, Venezuela has more oil reserves than any OPEC member and top exporters in the Gulf, including Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates and Iran.

The murder of Iranian schoolchildren cannot be whitewashed

 

Western media is either silent or implicitly blaming Tehran for the strike that killed 168 girls

 

In Iran, under ongoing US-Israeli attacks, a mass funeral took place today for 168 Iranian schoolgirls aged 7-12, killed by an Israeli airstrike on February 28.

 

The strike hit the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls’ primary school in Minab, southern Iran, in broad daylight, when the children were at school. Fourteen teachers were also killed in the bombing. The bombing occurred as part of US-Israeli attacks sadistically dubbed ‘Operation Epic Fury’, attacks which have to date targeted schools, hospitals, residential areas and other civilian infrastructure.

 

It was a scene all too familiar to Palestinians: grief-stricken parents collapsing sobbing at the site of their daughters’ murders, clutching bloodstained backpacks, pulling out schoolbooks and personal items of their slain daughters. Children’s desks covered in debris from the bombing. A child’s shoe in the rubble. Death where life had flourished.

 

None of this is being conveyed by Western legacy media – only ghoulish gloating over the US-Israeli bombardment of Iran and the murder of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, and his young granddaughter and children.

 

On March 2, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi posted a photo of the graves being dug on X, noting, “These are graves being dug for more than 160 innocent young girls who were killed in the US-Israeli bombing of a primary school. Their bodies were torn to shreds. This is how “rescue” promised by Mr. Trump looks in reality. From Gaza to Minab, innocents murdered in cold blood.”

 

At the time of this writing, 69 of the murdered girls remain unidentified.

 

International reaction: Silence

If the bombed school had been in Israel or Ukraine, news of it would have been plastered on front pages of Western media for days, with widespread demands for retaliation, or at least for justice and accountability. Back in 2016, Western media alleged Syria or Russian planes had injured Aleppo boy Omran Daqneesh. His photo went viral, for weeks, even years. A CNN news anchor fake-sobbed for the boy. In 2017, in his home, his father told me their home was not hit in an airstrike, but rather terrorists shelled it and used the boy in a cynical, and effective, photo op.

 

Footage shared on Telegram and on X clearly show horrific scenes of some of the young girls torn apart in the US-Israeli bombing of their school. But just like the untold thousands of Palestinian children killed by Israel, as well as the half a million Iraqi children killed by US sanctions, these Iranian children’s lives don’t merit Western media outrage. Instead, they produce cynical reports that not only lack any semblance of empathy, but suggest that Iran is either lying about or is to blame for the murders.

 

Take the BBC’s report, which describes the massacre as a “reported” strike on a school, which “Iran has blamed the US and Israel” for. Casting doubt is standard for legacy media whitewashing the US and Israel’s crimes. The US is “looking into reports.” Israel is “not aware.” Just one of those mysterious unknown strikes.

US military seeks boost in critical minerals supply amid Iran war

The US military has asked mining companies to help expanddomestic supplies of 13 critical minerals used in semiconductors, weapons and other defense technologies, according to a document reviewed by Reuters.
