What is the “Cicada” variant?

First detected in South Africa in November 2024, the strain didn’t begin circulating more widely until September last year.

It has now been spotted in 23 countries and accounts for up to 30% of cases in some parts of Europe, according to a CDC report published last week.

Where is BA.3.2 spreading in the US?

The variant first appeared in the US in a traveler passing through San Francisco International Airport from the Netherlands in June 2025 — but it wasn’t until January of this year that BA.3.2 showed up in a clinical sample from a US patient.

As of Feb. 11, Cicada had been detected in four US travelers and five patients, as well as airline and wastewater samples across 25 states, including New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, according to the CDC.

But despite its growing footprint, BA.3.2 is still far from dominant, accounting for less than 1% of cases nationwide.

“It is possible we will see Cicada drive a summer COVID surge and become the dominant strain in the United States, but that is by no means certain,” Dr. Robert H. Hopkins Jr., medical director of the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases, told Everyday Health.

Is the “Cicada” variant more contagious?

It might be.

The strain carries roughly 70 to 75 mutations in its spike protein — the part of the virus that helps it enter human cells — giving it what experts call “immune escape characteristics.”

That means it could partially dodge protection from vaccines or prior infections, potentially making it easier to spread.

“There is concern that it could represent a significant public health risk, but since the prevalence is still so low, it is too soon to predict this on a community-wide basis,” Dr. Marc Siegel, an internal medicine doctor at NYU Langone, told Fox News Digital.

Even so, experts say current COVID-19 vaccines are still expected to protect against severe illness, hospitalization and death.

Democrats at the city and state levels in Illinois have not exactly covered themselves in glory in the aftermath of the murder of Sheridan Gorman, an 18-year-old Loyola University freshman who was gunned down a week ago in what has been described as an execution-style killing while she was out taking a walk with friends on Chicago's lakefront.

The suspect in her murder is 25-year-old Jose Medina, a repeat offender who is, surprise surprise, an illegal immigrant from Venezuela who came here under the Biden-Harris administration, being caught and released in 2023.

Apallingly, the state's Democrat governor, JB Pritzker, did not address Gorman's murder until shamed into it. And the initial (written) statement actually came from a spokesperson, not him, four days later, with half of it whining about the alleged politicization of Gorman's death. Incredibly, two days after that, Pritzker himself tried to blame President Trump even though Pritzker has staunchly opposed Trump's crackdown on illegal immigration in the Windy City.

Chicago's woke Democrat mayor, Brandon Johnson, also took several days to chime in on the Gorman case as it was getting more and more national attention. When asked about it on Tuesday, he called it "senseless violence" and offered condolences to Gorman's family, but refused to acknowledge the illegal immigrant aspect of it.

As one might imagine, the family of Sheridan Gorman was not amused. They issued a statement that let Johnson and other "leaders" in the state know that they were not going to rest until those in positions of power and influence confronted and corrected the underlying issues that led to her murder in the first place, so that this never happens to another family again.

We acknowledge Mayor Johnson’s statement five days after our daughter, Sheridan's murder and his condolences to our family, as well as his recognition of the work of the Chicago Police Department.

But what happened to Sheridan cannot be reduced to a “senseless tragedy,” nor can it be explained in general terms about public safety. Sheridan was our daughter. She was 18 years old. She was doing something entirely normal—walking near her campus with friends. She should be here.

This was not random. It was not inevitable. And it cannot be treated as though it were.

We appreciate the efforts of law enforcement in making an arrest. But safety is not defined by how quickly a case is solved after the fact. It is defined by whether a young woman like Sheridan is protected in the first place.

Our daughter was not in the wrong place at the wrong time. The system failed her.

Calling this "senseless" is not enough. There must be a clear and honest accounting of what went wrong.

We are not interested in rhetoric. We are asking for accountability.

We will not allow Sheridan’s life to be reduced to a talking point or a generalization. We expect leadership that is willing to confront hard truths and ensure that what happened to her does not happen again.

We stand ready to engage with the Mayor and any public official willing to approach this with seriousness, transparency, and a commitment to real change.

The GARC, a 5-meter autonomous speedboat, has logged 450+ hours and 2,200 nautical miles on patrol.

These vessels can run surveillance or be used as kamikazes against Iranian fast-attack boats.

Ukraine proved the concept by crippling Russia's Black Sea Fleet with explosive drone boats reportedly costing around $250,000 each.

For context, a single Iranian anti-ship cruise missile costs millions and a U.S. destroyer runs about $2 billion.

MLB star Alec Bohm sues his own PARENTS for more than $1million

The parents of Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohmused limited liability companies to funnel millions of dollars out of his financial accounts for their own use, according to a lawsuit obtained by the Daily Mail.

'Though Alec's investigation into the status of his assets remains on-going and is far from complete, an initial investigation leads Alec to believeand, therefore, aver that [his parents] Daniel and Lisa misappropriated a very large sum of money from Alec,' read the complaint.

In total, Alec claims his parents tried to 'freeze' him out of four LLCs as they 'converted a sizeable amount' of his earnings into accounts intended for their own use. The 29-year-old slugger is seeking at least $1 million as well as interest, penalties, costs, attorneys' fees and anything else the court deems appropriate.

Filed in Pennsylvania and first reported by the Philadelphia Inquirer,the lawsuit claims Daniel and Lisa Bohm set up two LLCs for their baseball star son in 2019 so they could manage his growing assets. Alec's parentstold him they would need to hold a 10-percent stake in the LLCs in order to administer his funds,but insisted he still 'owned all the assets, funds, and anything else,' according to the filing.

'Daniel and Lisa repeatedly advised Alec that,whenever they acted on his behalf, they did so as Alec's parents—whose assistance always came free of charge,' the lawsuit continued.

Alec's parents also launched afoundationinhis name, but according to the lawsuit, both the LLCs and the charity were used by Daniel and Lisa for their own financial purposes.==

'With each transfer, Daniel and Lisa evidently grew bolder,' read the complaint.

They even launchedLLCs to control his personal residence, and again, took a 10-percent stake, insisting itwas required for them to manage the property, the lawsuit claims.

But in January, when Alec asked his parents for information on the various holdings, Daniel and Lisa allegedly refused.

'Daniel and Lisa, however, refused to provide any of the limited documentationthat Alec sought, which included, for example, electronic login information, account statements, tax instruments, and other readily accessible documentation,' read the lawsuit.

Instead, Daniel and Lisa engaged legal counsel,who 'produced limited information to feign cooperation,' the lawsuit continued. (All State Sec. of States has all documents of the LLC or Corp, did they file all their docs?)

And soon thereafter, Alec was informed by his parents' attorney thatthey intended to submit invoices for all the money they believed they were owed for managing his assets.

'In other words, Daniel and Lisa not only deceived Alec through their misrepresentations about the reason for their interests in [the LLCs],but also, Daniel and Lisa now claim that they possess equity rights and are due compensation for 'services'they provided in connection with the operations of [the LLCs],' read the lawsuit. (They can’t if there was no agreement, this should be an easy lawsuit to win.)

Bohm's parents denied wrongdoing in a statement through their attorneys.

'Mr. and Mrs. Bohm love their son very much and have always acted in his best interests, both personally and professionally and still do so to this day,' Robert Eckard, the pair's attorney, told the Inquirer.

'They are deeply saddened by the allegations made against them in this lawsuit and the sensational false narrative painted here, which they believe are entirely without merit.'

The Daily Mail has also sought comment from Alec's attorney.

The third pick of the 2018 MLB Draft, Bohm is on a one-year, $10 million deal, but will become an unrestricted free agent after the season, when he could be up for a considerable raise.

Alec is also reportedly dating ESPN host Erin Dolan.

Massie has been outspoken against the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and its influence on American politics, and in December 2023 tweeted out a meme appearing to contrast Zionism with American patriotism.[102]

Here’s my take on Q…

I believe it is a major psyop and from what I can tell, it or they or whatever or whoever is “running this op” has done a major disservice.

What I see are a bunch of people sitting and waiting for something to happen instead of doing what I have been calling for now for quite some time (LOCAL ACTION).

The nonsense about trump is still the president and the military is coming to the rescue is just that…nonsense.

I wasn’t belittling Dave (he’s a big boy), I was being brutally honest (like it or not or believe it or not).

Rome is burning Nero and the bucket brigade is getting low on water.

And like it or not (I don’t), we have a person in the WH that is there following a constitutional process…note I didn’t say fair election (which I don’t believe occurred).

Lastly, I so respect your smart statement and most definitely appreciate your support as well as Dave’s (I’m a big fan of X22).

I also appreciate the support by many of the digital soldiers who did and do support me.
