Since 2011, the UAE has regularly resorted to using mercenaries to wage its wars in Libya and Yemen. Its small population of 2.7 million leaves it unable to recruit enough troops. It is also risk averse in deploying them abroad where casualties for an unsupported cause are unacceptable to the population. Hence, the oil-rich state started hiring contract soldiers from abroad to fight for it in Yemen against the Houthi rebels.

 

This leads to a rather strange situation. Colombians hired by an Abu Dhabi based company employed by the UAE are fighting Houthi rebels in Yemen.

 

The involvement of Erik Prince, the controversial ex-founder of Blackwater, should hardly come as a surprise at this point. Especially given his role as a mercenary captain for the UAE. These mercenaries have manifested in multiple different organisations and groups with their own operating procedures/character.

Spear Operations Group is a Delaware-based US Private Military Company founded by the Hungarian Israeli Abraham Golan. It was approached in 2015 to carry out targeted assassinations for the UAE government as part of the Yemen civil war, a clear violation of the 1996 war crimes act. (Source) A former Palestinian Security Services official Mohammed Dahman serves the UAE as a consultant because of his close links with PMC’s and was partly responsible for the hiring of Spear Operations Group.

Unlike R2, the '''Spear Operations group was a scalpel for killing opposition leaders and assassinating political opponents in Yemen. As a result, it was much smaller than R2 only comprising 12 members. However, all of them were ex-French Foreign Legion officers or ex-US special forces.

In 2015, the UAE gave Spear Operations Group $1.5 million a month to liquidate opposition members in Yemen. The U.S. labor market bounced back in March, withjob creation much stronger than expectedthough the broader picture of a slow-growth labor market held intact.

February’s number was revised down by 41,000 while January was revised up by 34,000 to 160,000, putting the three-month average around 68,000.

 

The unemployment rate edged lower to 4.3%,though that was largely from a sharp reduction in the labor force.

 

“The bottom line is March was somewhat encouraging, but it’s been a rocky year for the labor market with almost no hiring since last April,” said Heather Long, chief economist at Navy Federal Credit Union. “The March data will keep the Federal Reserve on hold, but no one is declaring victory yet. It’s likely to be a tough spring for job seekers.”

 

As has been the case, health care was responsible for much of the growth, with the sector adding 76,000 jobs. A strike at health-care provider Kaiser Permanente in February hit the sector. The BLS said ambulatory health care services rose by 54,000, with 35,000 coming from the strike workers returning.

 

Construction saw an increase of 26,000, while transportation. and warehousing posted a gain of 21,000.

 

On the downside, the federal government saw a loss of 18,000, while financial activities lost 15,000.

 

Though the unemployment rate posted a decline, the move largely came from a decline of 396,000 in the labor force. The share of working-age Americans in the labor force fell to 61.9%, its lowest since November 2021.

 

The survey of households, which is used to compute the unemployment rate, showed 64,000 fewer people holding jobs. An alternative unemployment figure that counts discouraged workers and those holding part-time jobs for economic reasons edged up to 8%. Long-term unemployment continued to be elevated, though the average weeks of unemployment fell to 25.3.

 

Wages also rose less than expected, with average hourly earnings up just 0.2% for the month and 3.5% from a year ago. Economists had expected respective readings of 0.3% and 3.7%. The annual increase was the lowest since May 2021. Hours worked declined 34.2, down one-tenth from February.

 

The U.S. stock market was closed in observance of the Good Friday holiday.Stock market futures were slightly negative following the report. The bond market continued to trade, with Treasury yields higher ahead of an early close.

 

The report comes amid a changing labor market, with the economy needing to add fewer jobs to keep the broader employment picture stable. The St. Louis Federal Reserve estimated recently that payroll growth of as little as 15,000 could keep the unemployment rate steady.

 

Federal Reserve officials have been weighing the jobs data as they plot their intentions regarding interest rates. Most policymakers have been content to watch the data unfold and take a patient approach,though a few have pushed for interest rate cuts to head off labor market weakness.

 

With inflation well above the Fed’s target and energy prices surging as the Iran war continues, markets expect little movement from the central bank this year. Following the jobs report, futures pointed to virtually no probability of a move at the April 28-29 Federal Open Market Committee meeting and a 77.5%probability the Fed will stay on hold through the end of the year, according to the CME Group’s FedWatch tool.

How can we see what is invisible? Black holes are not easy to see in the dark cosmic night, but astronomers can find them by analyzing their gravitational effects on matter, light and spacetime. The featured image shows an illustration that combines a simulation of a black hole binary system in its final "death-dance" with an astrophotography image of the Tarantula Nebula in the background. Even though black holes don't emit light, they distort the path of light rays, acting like a gravitational lens. As a result, the nebula appears extremely distorted, forming Einstein rings and multiple images. Tarantula Nebula lies in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a dwarf galaxy that is one of the satellite galaxies of the Milky Way, 160,000 light-years away. That is more than 1,000 times closer than any of the binary black hole mergers detected so far. We'll probably never detect a merger so close to home!

He’s a legal analyst who uses the term “conversion therapy”when discussing any sort of therapy that might deal with someone’s discomfort over same-sex desire or gender dysphoria from a religious perspective. He wrote an article titled,“How in the World Was the Supreme Court’s Awful Conversion Therapy Ruling 8–1?”

 

He still managed to get pilloried on Bluesky, the leftist alternative to X where they eat their own via increasingly impossible purity tests.

 

Now, in case you missed this “awful conversion therapy ruling,” every justice aside from Ketanji Brown Jackson (natch) found in a Wednesday decision that a lower court did not apply appropriate scrutiny to a Colorado law that banned, among other things, talk therapy that might deal with people struggling with same-sex attraction or gender identity from a religiously orthodox perspective.

 

Kaley Chiles, a licensed counselor, challenged the 2019 statute on First Amendment grounds. Writing for the majority, Justice Neil Gorsuch said that the law “censors speech based on viewpoint” and that a lower court must apply strict scrutiny, or the most exacting constitutional standard, to examining the law and what it covers.

 

“Colorado may regard its policy as essential to public health and safety. Certainly, censorious governments throughout history have believed the same,” Gorsuch wrote.

 

“But the First Amendment stands as a shield against any effort to enforce orthodoxy in thought or speech in this country.”

 

Stern, in his write-up of the case in Slate, called the decision “profound hypocrisy masquerading as principle,” using a circular appeal to authority, among other arguments.

 

Almost 30 states have curbed or outlawed “therapy” that seeks to change minors’ sexual orientation or gender identity—that is, to make them stop being gay, bisexual, or transgender. These measures take the form of professional licensure rules, subjecting therapists to fines (and eventually loss of license) if they try to “turn” an LGBTQ+ minor straight or cisgender. Nonprofessional counselors, including family and clergy, can still engage in this conduct, as can professional counselors outside of their paid practice. Every major American medical association to consider this issue has come out in opposition to “conversion therapy” for youth and endorsed its prohibition. …

 

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court sided against Colorado, reversing the appeals court’s decision. Writing for every justice but Jackson, Gorsuch declared that Chiles’ talk therapy is “the quintessential form of protected speech.” He rejected the state’s argument that speech carries fewer First Amendment protections when delivered as a medical treatment. Chiles’ therapy is not conduct at all, Gorsuch wrote, but pure “expression.” And Colorado’s law censors that expression “based on viewpoint,” allowing her to affirm LGBTQ+ patients’ identities but not to critique or reject them. Thus, the state “seeks to silence a viewpoint she wishes to express.” This kind of “viewpoint discrimination,” Gorsuch concluded, is “presumptively unconstitutional,” and must survive strict scrutiny, meaning it is “narrowly tailored to serve compelling state interests.”

 

However, he did note that Gorsuch did not ” declare that Colorado’s law does not pass strict scrutiny and therefore violates the First Amendment” but “walked right up to that point, he stepped back, and sent the case back down to the appeals court, directing it to apply the test instead. He strongly implied that the Colorado ban, and others like it, would not survive this review ‘as applied’ to talk therapy. But he left the question open for the appeals court to answer.”

Rare 'sungrazer' comet MAPS will shine superbright on Saturday ‪—‬ if it survives a dangerous encounter with our star

A rare "sungrazer" comet is about to pass very close to our star and could become visible in daylight — or it could completely disintegrate before our eyes.

Either way, there could be something special to see in the night sky, with a large tail potentially visible late this week.

 

Comet C/2026 A1 (MAPS) was discovered Jan. 13 by French astronomers at the AMACS1 Observatory in Chile.

Although the comet was initially thought to have a nucleus measuring around 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers) wide, astronomers later reduced the estimate to under 0.25 miles (0.4 km) based on James Webb Space Telescope observations taken in February.

 

C/2026 A1 (MAPS) belongs to a special family of comets called Kreutz "sungrazers," so called because they get very close to the sun, lighting up brightly but often breaking into smaller pieces.

There are around 3,500 members of the Kreutz family, all of which are thought to be fragments of a single giant comet that got too close to the sun about 1,700 years ago, according to Live Science's sister site Space.com.

 

C/2026 A1 (MAPS) is expected to get within 98,000 miles (158,000 km) of the sun's surface and pass through the lower regions of the sun's outer atmosphere, or corona, at 9:30 a.m. EDT (13:30 UTC) Saturday (April 4), according to the British Astronomical Association (BAA).

According to the European Space Agency, many Kreutz sungrazers evaporate, but if they survive, they could put on a spectacular show.

 

Because C/2026 A1 (MAPS) is traveling into the sun's glare, it will be difficult to see before April 4. If it survives its close encounter with the sun — even if it fragments — it could become visible for a short time after sunset in the evenings that follow.

Unless it breaks apart before it gets close to the sun, there will be a possibility of seeing a potentially large and bright tail in the western evening sky starting around April 9, according to the BAA.

If that occurs, Comet C/2026 A1 (MAPS) will be the first of two comets visible in April, with the likely dimmer but more predictable C/2025 R3 (PanSTARRS) set to become an easy binocular target close to April 20.

"She was not only a cherished member of our family, but also a dedicated public servant who committed her life to improving the lives of others.

 

The family went on to say that Nancy Metayer Bowen believed in bringing people together and working tirelessly to create a positive change in the community.

 

"While many knew her as a leader and advocate, we knew her as a sister, a daughter, and a friend whose warmth and laughter filled every room. Her legacy will live on not only in the policies she helped to shape, but in the countless lives she touched. We are grateful for the outpouring of support and kindness during this difficult time. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her remarkable life and the lasting impact she leaves behind.

 

Stephen Bowen charged with premeditated murder in Nancy Metayer Bowen's killing

 

The incident unfolded on Wednesday when Coral Springs police said they were called to Nancy Metayer Bowen's home just after 10 a.m.

 

When they arrived, they said they found her dead and determined that the incident was domestic in nature.

 

Her husband, Stephen Bowen, was taken into custody and wascharged with premediated murder and tampering with fabricated evidence.

Artemis II Flight Day 2: Orion Completes TLI Burn, Crew Begins Journey to the Moon

NASA’s Artemis II crew is on the way to the Moon.

After the mission management team polled “Go” Thursday, NASA’s Orion spacecraft fired its main engine for five minutes and 50 seconds beginning at 7:49 p.m. EDT, to successfully complete the translunar injection (TLI) burn, sending the crew in Orion out of Earth orbit and on a trajectory toward the Moon.

 

Orion’s main engine provides up to 6,000 pounds of thrust, enough to accelerate a car from 0 to 60 mph in about 2.7 seconds. At the time of the burn, Orion’s mass was 58,000 pounds and burned approximately 1,000 pounds of fuel during the firing.

Crew members also are spending time exercising on the spacecraft’s flywheel exercise device. During exercise, teams on the ground monitored the spacecraft’s air revitalization system, which maintains a breathable, comfortable cabin environment for the crew, and assessed how exercise impacts movement of the spacecraft.

 

The flywheel uses a simple cable‑based mechanism that supports both aerobic exercises like rowing and resistive movements such as squats and deadlifts.

Operating much like a yo‑yo, the device provides resistance proportional to the force applied, allowing loads up to 400 pounds. This capability is especially important in deep space, where astronauts do not have access to the extensive exercise equipment aboard the International Space Station.

On the station, crews rely on more than 4,000 pounds of exercise hardware spread across roughly 850 cubic feet. In contrast, Orion’s flywheel weighs just 30 pounds and is about the size of a carry‑on suitcase—meeting the strict mass and volume constraints of deep‑space missions while still supporting crew health and reentry readiness.

 

The crew members – NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and CSA (Canadian Space Agency) astronaut Jeremy Hansen – have successfully checked out the AVATAR scientific payload.

Engineers also determined that a brief loss of two-way communications between the ground and crew that occurred shortly after the crew reached orbit was due to a ground configuration issue involving the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite system.

The issue was rectified quickly with no impact to mission operations.

 

Lunar Science Team Prepares for Flyby

After the TLI burn that sent Orion on its path to the Moon, the lunar science team began building a Lunar Targeting Plan, a guide to what the crew will look at on the Moon’s surface during its approximately six-hour observation on Monday, April 6.

The targeting plan will include documenting features that can help scientists understand how the Moon and solar system formed, such as craters, ancient lava flows, and cracks and ridges created as the Moon’s outer layer slowly shifted over time.

 

One feature that will be added to the plan is a solar eclipse, which will last for nearly an hour toward the end of the flyby window. During the eclipse, the Sun will be hidden from view as it moves behind the Moon from the perspective of Orion.

The crew will see a mostly dark Moon at this time — an opportunity for them to look for flashes of light from meteoroids striking the Moon’s surface, dust lofting above the edge of the Moon, and deep space targets, including planets.

While the Sun slides behind the Moon, the crew will observe the solar corona, the Sun’s outermost atmosphere, while it’s visible.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance is set to land in Budapest on Tuesdayfor a high-stakes intervention that underscores how far the White House is willing to go to shore up Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán before the April 12 national election.

 

Orbán is flailing in the polls, as anti-corruption (anti corruption people are totally corrupted by the EU), opposition candidate Péter Magyar surges ahead in his bid to claim power in Budapest after 16 years of leadership by the ruling Fidesz party.

 

Vance’s visit, scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, was framed by Hungarian government spokespersonZoltán Kovács as a celebration of deep ties between the two countries. “The visit highlights the strong and enduring alliance between Hungary and the United States,” he wrote on X on Friday.

 

The outspoken U.S.vice president will hold talks with the MAGA-allied Orbán and then give a public address, during a trip that directly involves Washingtonin the final stretch of a heated election campaign.

 

It echoes an American effort in Argentina last year, where U.S. officials including Treasury Secretary ScottBessent intervened to support President Javier Milei ahead of national midterm elections, to keep a key hemispheric, ideological ally in a strong position.

 

In multiple speeches and remarks over the 15 months since President Donald Trump returned to office, seniorU.S. officials have made clear they believe Europe is on the wrong political path, and that the nationalist-populist Orbán is a model for the continent to follow.

The Hungarian prime minister has promoted his vision of illiberal democracy, while frequently clashing with Brussels over the EU’s direction on migration, Russia and minority rights. (The EU is kicking him out because he will not approve $50 billion or more going Zelensky and Ukraine. He’s the only one saying no more loans to Ukraine.)

 

Vance himself delivered an blistering speech at the Munich Security Conference in February last year, accusing European leaders of ignoring the will of their people, overturning elections, ignoring religious freedoms and not acting to halt illegal migration.

 

The Trump administration has been tight with Orbán since the U.S. president’s first term in office, and that now extends to a final pre-election push to keep him in power.

 

U.S. Secretary of State MarcoRubio declared a “golden age” in relations between the countries during a February visit, a signal of Hungary’s growing importanceto the U.S. as relations with other European capitals fray.

 

While top Fidesz officials were hyped about Vance’s Hungary visit, not everyone is so impressed.

 

Magyar warned the visit could come with strings attached, hinting at undisclosed military arrangements and suggesting Washington may seek concessions in exchange for its support.

 

“Both Eastern and Western aid have a price,” he said, raising questions about what Hungary might be asked to give in return, andreferencing ongoing reports that Russian contacts with senior Orbán officials run deeper than previously known.

March Jobs Report Triples Expectations – 178,000 Net Jobs Gained

The Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) has released the March employment report [DATA HERE]reflecting gains of 186,000 private sector jobs, with another 8,000 federal government jobs eliminated. Net gain 178,000 jobs.

 

Forecasters had anticipated around 63,000 net jobs gained:the actual result triples expectations.

This is a challenging time to use data to estimate overall employment strength,mainly due to the repatriation efforts underway that are removing illegal alien workers from the labor force.

 

As deportation efforts continue against the black-market workforce, in combination with targeting efforts toward fraudulent ‘mismatched’ social security records used to gain unlawful -albeit visible- market employment, it becomes challenging to quantify net realized job gains.

 

Theoverall goal is to remove the illegal alien workers, reestablish organic job market pressures to increase wages and pull American workers from the sidelines back into the labor market.

 

Removing illegal workers drives up real wages, that should (re)incentivize the labor market.

 

As these efforts continue, we are seeing wide variances, upward and downward swings, depending on the collection timing.

 

One of thepositive aspects. during this employment cycleis the reduction in the overall federal labor force. Overall, in thepast year, President Trump has removed 271,000 federal jobsmore than reversing all of the govt jobs added during Joe Biden’s term in office. This trend should continue.

They were ousted for a simple reason: Each was involved in the investigation of President Donald Trump’s alleged retention of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

 

As a result, Patel hamstrung the Washington, DC-based FBI counterintelligence unit, known as CI-12, which handles cases ranging from mishandling of classified documents to tracking foreign spies operating on US soil.

 

The dismissals have added to concern inside the Justice Department and FBI that counterterrorism and intelligence investigations in the wake of the military operation in Iran could be hampered by a mass exodus of national security experts, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.

///But like CI-12, DOJ teams dedicated to monitoring those foreign threats have been decimated by waves of firings and resignations since the beginning of the Trump administration, and experts worry that despite their best efforts, the department could be unprepared to manage future attacks.

 

Many of the offices in the DOJ’s National Security Division have lost at least half of their employees, people familiar with the matter told CNN, including the office dedicated to counterterrorism. And senior FBI officials who oversaw counterintelligence and international terrorism efforts have been pushed out.

Here’s how Artemis astronauts will document parts of the moon never seen before + extra Artemis

Four astronauts in the Artemis II Space Launch System successfully launched into space Wednesday, marking the start of NASA’s renewed push to get to the moon, and eventually build a base there.

Artemis astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen are on board. They’ll hurtle several thousand miles beyond the moon, hang a U-turn and then come straight back. The mission is set to last less than 10 days.

WTOP covered the first portion of the itinerary here. More excitement is in store in the later days of the mission.

 

After about a four-day voyage, the crew will review the lunar flyby imaging plan on Day 5. That will be done in two shifts, with two astronauts looking out Orion’s windows with cameras and writing what they see in their personal computers.

In the first hour of Day 6, the crew will make its closest approach to the moon, and minutes later will reach its maximum distance from Earth.

 

Here is how NASA describes the flyby.

“Over the course of the day, the crew will come within 4,000 to 6,000 miles of the lunar surface as they swing around the far side of the Moon — it should look to them about the size of a basketball held at arm’s length.

They will devote the majority of their day to taking photos and videos of the Moon, and recording their observations as they become the first to see some parts of the Moon with their own eyes.

Because the Sun’s angle on the Moon changes by about one degree every two hours, the crew won’t be sure what lighting conditions to expect on the lunar surface until they launch.

If the Sun is high in the lunar sky during the flyby, there will be few shadows, and the crew will be looking for subtle variations in surface color and rightness.

If the Sun is lower on the horizon, long shadows will stretch across the surface, enhancing relief and revealing depth, ridges, slopes, and crater rims that are often difficult to detect under full illumination.

If the Sun is overhead from Orion’s perspective — like noon on Earth — shadows will be few to nonexistent, creating ideal lighting conditions for close-up imaging of specific lunar features.

The crew will record their observations in real time, as they take photos and videos — including when they lose communication with Earth for 30-50 minutes as they pass behind the Moon.

That way, their observations can later be linked with the exact images they took.”

 

The astronauts, using safe sun viewing glasses, will also witness an eclipse of the sun and see the solar corona.

Artemis mission project scientist Noah Petro is very familiar with the moon, as he was the project leader for Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, which has been absolutely crucial to supporting Artemis.

 

Petro said Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter images of the moon were used to make a movie simulating what the astronauts would see through the windows of Orion and help in their lunar science training.

They also conducted classroom sessions and field geology training in Iceland (parts of that country really do look like the moon).

“A human eyeball connected to a trained brain is a very powerful combination,” Petro told WTOP.

 

He said the time of the launch determines precisely what the Artemis II crew will see on the far side of the moon.

The hope is that they will be able to see an almost fully illuminated far side disk, including areas that have never been seen by human eyes, since Artemis II will fly a different profile than the Apollo astronauts did.

The crew will also get a glimpse of the moon’s South Pole — a prized area for human exploration.

 

One big difference between the Apollo and Artemis missions, which is a huge advantage for exploring and imaging the moon, is the altitude above the lunar surface.

Petro said Artemis II is 4,000-6,000 miles above the moon, compared with the 60-70 mile altitude of Apollo. That height allows for a wide, global assessment of lunar features.

 

The moon will appear as big as a basketball held at arm’s length through the windows of the Space Launch System.

There will be two separate shifts during the approximately four-hour flyby; one crew member will image the moon with a mirrorless camera and the other will document observations.

Petro described the mission as a “lunar linchpin.” It will bring the legacy of Apollo and the promise of Artemis together. That is a very powerful combination.

Perhaps a gift from Iran, since France rejected an initiative from the Arab states in the UN Security Council to authorize military action against Iran in order to reopen the Strait of Hormuz

Bondi’s Replacement is Important, But Not as Important as Perceived

In a two-week period right after the 2024 election,the most energy expended by the transition team putting a cabinet together was toward Main Justice or the Dept of Justice. As a consequence, those around Lutnick and Wiles spent an incredible amount of time thinking about the Attorney General pick.

 

Following an insider discussion, I spoke with several people about positions and appointments, focused onpointing out that the transition’s priorities were misplaced. The AG needed to besomeone with exceptional moral character, capable of gathering informationand presenting it for public consumption, with the option of supporting criminal referrals if necessary.

 

The Attorney General wasn’t going to be the tip of the spear in any operation to confront the Deep State, because if Main Justice wanted to confront Lawfarethey needed to confront the Intelligence Community first.

 

The IC controls all of the activity within the Dept of Justice.

 

Read that again for emphasis. For the issuesof greatest importance, the Intelligence Community controlsall of the activity within Main Justice.The IC is in controlof the source material.The IC is above the DOJ. If youdon’t strategize a confrontation with the IC first, it doesn’t matter what you do with the Dept of Justice.

 

The best example I could reference at the time was the Mar-a-Lago documents case and Judge Aileen Cannon. In that example the Executive branch was targeting Trump through the DOJ/FBI, and representingthe Judicial branch Judge Cannon was the firewall ensuring the appropriate administration of justice.

 

Trump’s defense, through Cannon, pushed back against the DOJ (Jack Smith) while Smith leveraged all his Lawfare tools back against Cannon. You might remember the “classified document” issue went to the 11th CCA.

 

The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals agreed with the government position that any documents defined as “classified” by the executive branch that claimed, “national security,”should not be disclosed to the defendant, Trump. The 11th CCA said when it comes to matters of national security, the judicial branch must defer to the determinations of the executive.

 

Basically, if the intelligence community decides certain information is tied to national securityand labels it as classified for the DOJ,that decision can’t be challenged. The U.S. Supreme Court has backed this view. As a result, when it comes to national security issues,the judicial branch has to defer to the executive, giving the IC significant control over the DOJ.

 

If you drag former CIA Director John Brennan into court and Brennan’s lawyers argue ‘national security’ as a defense against indictment, inquiry or questioning,it’s not the DOJ(Attorney General) who matters –it’s the ‘national security’ determination of the Intelligence Community (Tulsi Gabbard) who controls the outcome.

 

Over and over, I kept emphasizing this point.If you want to hold the Spygate/Russiagate folks accountable, it’s not going to be the DOJ who matter; not directly.It is the Intelligence Community that matters.

 

If you seek accountability, and if you want to stop Lawfare from exploiting the silo defenses,it’s the IC that matters; not the Dept of Justice.

 

The transition team was putting emphasis on the wrong syllable. Remember, my emphasis was on the need for institutional accountability on Spygateand Russiagate,and the DOJ is a tool toward the goal but not the ultimate weapon.

Pam Bondi had been standing on precariously thin ice for months before Trump finally swung the hatchet. Her mishandling of the Epstein files enraged Trump’s base, which angered the president. When questioned about the files on Capitol Hill last month, Bondi evaded the inquiry by clumsily segueing into a financial report on NASDAQ and Dow Jones. Aboard Air Force One, Trump, who had been watching Bondi’s performance on television, winced in dismay—more so when Bondi refused an opportunity to address the bevy of Epstein victims sitting in the chamber. Her performative theatrics left Trump unimpressed, as did her inability to secure indictments against Leticia James and the Seditious Six.

 

Bondi’s neck had been on the chopping block, now knowing when the blade would fall. A confluence of professional mishaps sealed her fate, according to two White House sources speaking under promise of anonymity, including a scheme White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles had orchestrated in hopes that Trump would throw Bondi under the bus.

 

“Susie hates Pam, one source said. “In her eyes, Pam’s a self-serving bitch. Once she saw President Trump’s admiration for Bondi start to fade, she put another nail in Pam’s coffin.”

 

Last month, five Republicans and every Democrat on the House Oversight Committee voted to subpoena Bondi to testify under oath once again about the DOJ’s handling and release of the Epstein files. Republicans Nancy Mace, Lauren Boebert, Tim Burchett, Michael Cloud, and Scott Perry sided with Democrats, and a 24-19 vote all but compelled Bondi’s testimony. Although Mace and Boebert had frequently criticized Bondi and the DOJ, Burchett, Cloud, and Perry surfaced as new voices of discontent. It was a rare bipartisan rebuke over the incompleteness of the Epstein files release.

 

Per our sources, Susie Wiles convinced Burchett, Cloud, and Perry to admonish Bondi during private luncheons she had with them at Old Ebbitt Grill, an upscale bar and eatery in northwest D.C. Neither I nor my sources know what they discussed, but Wiles dined with each of them three times in February and March. As an aside, RRN had cordial relations with Wiles and her office prior to our inquiry about her involvement in Bondi’s dismissal. But when we reached out to Wiles’ assistant Cameron Sanders, he told us, “No comment.”

 

One White House source, however, told us, “Trump came to realize Bondi was the same as Bill Barr, a Deep State agent who had insinuated herself into the administration. Like with Noem, Trump made up a new position for Bondi, because if he said he fired her for treason, it would just be fuel for the mainstream media.”

 

Our second source said, “Wiles discovered the Bondi tipped off California House Rep. Eric Swalwell that the FBI was reopening an investigation about his affair with a Chinese agent.”

 

Starting in 2011 and ending in 2015, Sewell had sexual relations with a Chinese intelligence operative known as “Fang Fang,” who targeted up-and-coming politicians like Swalwell. He had been banging her for four years until, in mid-2015, the FBI informed him she was a Chinese honeypot. The House Ethics Committee investigated their libidinous romance but found “no wrongdoing” in Swaleel’s part.

 

Wiles, one source said, wanted to reopen the investigation—but Bondi adamantly objected.

 

“It’s not really a secret that Trump appointed women based on looks instead of expertise. Noem, Bondi—they aren’t the only ones. Trump has proof that a group of Black men ran a train on Tulsi Gabbard, and, mark my words, she’s next. Susie Wiles is incredibly protective of President Trump.”
