Iran’s first of its 10 point plan in English: A binding guarantee that the U.S. and allies will not strike Iran again

But in Iran’s Farsi version, a key phrase is tacked onto its first point namely the acceptance of Iran’s uranium enrichment.

So, Iran’s English version of its 10 point plan makes no mention of nuclear, but its Farsi version, likely approved by the leadership, reiterates the same unacceptable enrichment condition.

On the other hand, US first four points

1. Dismantle all major nuclear facilities

2. End all uranium enrichment on Iranian soil

3. Transfer enriched uranium stockpiles out of Iran

4. Accept intrusive international inspections everywhere

These will be tough negotiations, made even harder by Iran’s other non-starter demands. The ceasefire may only be a brief interlude between military conflicts.

The US and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire on Tuesday barely an hour before Donald Trump’s deadline to obliterate Iran was set to expire, with Tehran agreeing to temporarily reopen the strait of Hormuz.

Israel also agreed to the ceasefire, the White House said. As Trump announced he was suspending his plans to escalate attacks across Iran, the US president said he had received a 10-point proposal from Iran which was a “workable basis on which to negotiate”.

But what is in this plan from Iran, and will Trump accept it?

What demands are in Iran’s 10-point plan?

According to state media, Iran will only accept the war’s conclusion once details are finalised in line with a 10-point peace plan reportedly submitted to the White House via Pakistani intermediaries.

The list of 10 points, published by Iranianstate media, include a number of conditions the US has rejected in the past. The plan requires:

The lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions on Iran.

Continued Iranian control over the strait of Hormuz.

US military withdrawal from the Middle East.

An end to attacks on Iran and its allies.

The release of frozen Iranian assets.

A UN security council resolution making any deal binding.

In the version released in Farsi, Iran also included the phrase “acceptance of enrichment” for its nuclear program. But for reasons that remain unclear, that phrase was missing in English versions shared by Iranian diplomats to journalists.

What does the ceasefire plan mean for the strait of Hormuz?

The Iranian foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, said safe passage through the strait would be allowed under Iranian military management. It wasn’t immediately clear whether that meant Iran would completely loosen its hold on the waterway.

The plan allows Iran and Oman to charge a fee of up to $2m a ship on vessels transiting through the strait, according to reports. Iran would then use the money it raises for reconstruction.

If peace talks fail, Tehran may again seek to close the strait.

Will the US agree to this 10-point plan and Iran’s proposals?

Since negotiations began between the Trump administration and Iran over the status of Tehran’s nuclear programme almost a year ago, their vastly different demands and the limits to what each side would concede have proved a barrier to any lasting agreement.

Iran’s demand that it retains control over the strait of Hormuz has been highlighted as of particular concern, as it held no control over the strait before the conflict began.

The Democratic senator Chris Murphy leapt on the comments from Iran, telling CNN “who knows if any of that is true, but if this agreement gives Iran the right to control the strait that is cataclysmic for the world”.

Trump himself has not commented directly on Iran’s demands, but said the US would “be helping with the traffic buildup in the strait of Hormuz”.

Experts and analysts have suggested that Iran’s maximalist demands are unlikely to be agreed to by the US, but will rather form the basis for talks.

Is Israel part of the deal?

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said Israel supports the US decision to suspend strikes against Iran for two weeks, but that the ceasefire does not include Lebanon. Pakistan’s prime minister had previously said that the agreed ceasefire covered “everywhere including Lebanon.”

Netanyahu’s office said Tehran must immediately open the strait and stop attacks against the US, Israel and countries in the region. Israel also said it supported US efforts to ensure Iran no longer posed a nuclear, missile or “terror” threat.

The Israeli offensive in Lebanon has killed at least 1,500 people and displaced 1.2 million others. Lebanon was pulled into the war when Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel in solidarity with Tehran.

What will happen next?

Pakistan’s prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif, who helped mediate the ceasefire, said in a post on X that he had invited Iranian and US delegations to meet in Islamabad on Friday.

Tehran has said it will participate in the talks. The White House said it is considering in-person talks with Iran but they have not been finalised.

What happened in the hours leading up to Trump pausing his deadline?

Late on Tuesday, Pakistan’s prime minister urged Trump to extend his deadline by two weeks to allow diplomacy to advance. In a post on X, Sharif, whose country has been leading negotiations, also asked Iran to open up for two weeks the strait of Hormuz.

China, which is Tehran’s biggest trade partner, encouraged the Iranians to find a way to a ceasefire as talks progressed, according to two officials who were not authorised to comment and spoke to AP on condition of anonymity. Trump told AFP on Tuesday he believed China had helped get Iran to the negotiating table.

With the US midterm election campaign ramping up, Trump’s approval ratings have hit their lowest level ever, leaving his Republican party at risk of losing its narrow majorities in Congress. Polls show sizeable majorities of Americans are opposed to the war and frustrated by the rising cost of petrol.

A key Vladimir Putin ally has threatened to blow up a London landmark in revenge for British-made drones destroying a Russian-controlled bridge.

Pro-Kremlin propagandist Vladimir Kornilov said Westminster Bridge should burn after it emerged Ukraine used UK Malloy T-150 heavy-lift drones to blow up a bridge in Kherson, an oblast in eastern Ukraine under Russia's thumb.

A huge, and not very 'ceasefirey' development in Saudi Arabia, per the FT (just as Hegseth was speaking): "A pumping station was hit at 1 p.m. local time, the people told FT. The attack was carried out by a drone and damage was being assessed, one of the people told FT Saudi Aramco, which owns and operates the pipeline." FT continues, "The people said a pumping station, one of several along the 1,200km pipeline that has become an economic lifeline for the kingdom since the near closure of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, was hit at about 1pm local time on Wednesday."

One Gulf based representative and analyst complains, "For a ceasefire, the fire does not seem to be ceasing. The UAE and Kuwait are under attack, and Iran says it is under attack too. Beyond the ceasefire itself, the bigger question is that the plan still looks unclear when it comes to what follows…"

Last night we reported that no less than 800 ships were still trapped in the immediate aftermath of the US-Iran ceasefire agreement, unsure what the fine print of the deal meant for transits. This morning we are down to ~798, after the first two cargo vessels have crossed the Strait of Hormuz since the ceasefire, according to ship tracking data.

The Liberia-flagged Daytona Beach, destined for the United Arab Emirates, crossed just before 8am UK time, while the Greek-owned NJ Earth followed about two hours later, with its destination undisclosed, the tracking platform Kpler showed.

The ships are the first large vessels to transit the critical waterway since the agreement of a two-week ceasefire, under which Iran has claimed it would maintain control of the strait. It was unclear if they paid any tolls to make the crossing. Around 175 million barrels of crude and refined products are currently loaded on to 187 tankers in the Gulf, according to Kpler data — which could now start to move, depending on what happens in the strait.

Regarding Hormuz transit, Iran said it will demand that shipping companies pay tolls in cryptocurrency for oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz, as it seeks to retain control over passage through the key waterway during the two-week ceasefire, the FT reported.

Hamid Hosseini, a spokesperson for Iran’s Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Products Exporters’ Union, told the FT on Wednesday that Iran wanted to collect tolling fees from any tanker passing and to assess each ship.

“Iran needs to monitor what goes in and out of the strait to ensure these two weeks aren’t used for transferring weapons,” said Hosseini, whose industry association works closely with the state. “Everything can pass through, but the procedure will take time for each vessel, and Iran is not in a rush,” he added.

Decisions on the conditions for passing the strait are taken by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. Hosseini’s remarks suggest Iran will require any tankers to use the northerly route close to its coastline, raising questions over whether western or Gulf state-linked vessels will be willing to risk transit.

Hosseini said that each tanker must email authorities about its cargo, after which Iran will inform them of the toll to be paid in digital currencies.

He said that the tariff is $1 per barrel of oil, adding that empty tankers can pass freely.

“Once the email arrives and Iran completes its assessment, vessels are given a few seconds to pay in bitcoin, ensuring they can’t be traced or confiscated due to sanctions,” Hosseini added.

Speaking to CBS this morning, Trump said that there may be a joint US-Iran venture for Hormuz tolls.

Sasha Latapova, a former a medical device R&D executive who is now a journalist, gave an update on an explosive civil lawsuit in Holland against Albert Bourla, the CEO of Pfizer, Bill Gates and Mark Rutte, the head of NATO. She investigated a leaked internal AstraZeneca audio that she says points back to a Pentagon-planned, DARPA-linked pandemic program dating back years before COVID emerged in 2019. She said that in 2017, DARPA approached AstraZeneca and asked it to join a consortium.

DARPA proposed that the military Department of Defense (DoD) would identify potential pandemic viruses and drug manufacturers would make vaccines and therapeutics within 60 days. A key executive of AstraZeneca admitted, on tape, that he knew at the time that the pandemic was fake and they were being fraudulently induced into criminal activity.

On February 4, 2020, the DOD made a phone call to AstraZeneca and other participants of the consortium and told them that COVID was a national security threat. And the project went live.

Bill Gates confirmed in writing, via emails to Epstein, that he wanted to work on the COVID project. Bill Gates, Epstein, and JP Morgan set up a financial structure for massive profits from a pandemic using charitable organizations to avoid taxation.

Disruption from glyphosate can alter the plant and can ultimately prevent plants from synthesizing proteins and can lead to their death.

Joel Salatin explained that glyphosate can affect microbes in soil, but the good news is that there appears to be a way to remediate the destruction caused by glyphosate. Microbes can consume and neutralize other pollutants, too.

Dr. McCullough said that a number of dairy cows die from botulism. A researcher from Germany used the juice from live sauerkraut in the feed of dairy cattle, and it degraded the glyphosate in the cows’ rumen, preventing the overgrowth of the clostridium botulinum that was causing the botulism.

An experiment using sauerkraut juice in the fields on feed crops resulted in an increase in the corn yields. In a similar dairy study, there was a significant increase in milk production.

Deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein allegedly played a key role in one of the largest known sexual blackmail operations connected to Russian intelligence, according to Daily Mail.

Journalists calculated that newly released documents in the Epstein case contain 1,056 references to Russia and Vladimir Putin, and 9,629 references to Moscow.

Citing intelligence sources, the British outlet reported on February 1 that Epstein’s private social network and parties were instrumental in collecting compromising material on high-profile Western political and business figures.

Daily Mail attributes its findings to sources within US and allied intelligence communities. These sources claim that Epstein was used in a classic “honeytrap” operation—a method where individuals are lured into intimate encounters with planted agents, with interactions secretly recorded for blackmail.

The materials obtained were allegedly funneled to Russian intelligence agencies. The report asserts that the operation involved Ghislaine Maxwell—currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking—who had ties to her father, Robert Maxwell, a businessman long suspected of cooperating with the KGB and Mossad in the 1970s.

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) deployed a new technology dubbed "Ghost Murmur" in the high-stakes operation to retrieve the second U.S. airman from deep inside Iran over the weekend, according to a new report.

The tool is able to pick up human heartbeats across long distances, and then uses artificial intelligence (AI) to sift out background noise,two unnamed sources told The New York Post.

The mountainous terrain of southern Iran was an "ideal first operational use" for the technology, one of the sources said.

‘Daytime fireball’ visible to parts of the northeast, NASA says

What NASA officials described as a “daytime fireball” was visible to people in the northeastern United States.

NASA said eyewitnesses in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania reported seeing it on Tuesday around 2:30 p.m.

It said it was a meteor.

NASA reported that the first visibility of the meteor was at 48 miles above the Atlantic Ocean, off the shore of Mastic Beach on Long Island.

It moved to the southwest at 30,000 mph and traveled 117 miles through the upper atmosphere before disintegrating 27 miles above the town of Galloway, NJ, north of Atlantic City.

Most of the eyewitness reports in Connecticut came out of Fairfield County. However, NASA said it received sighting reports as far north as the Hartford, Glastonbury, and Manchester areas.

The vast majority of the reports came out of New Jersey.
