There is NO Freaking way, any accountant can EVER make mistakes like that. Their LIES are getting worse and worse, and impossible. I’m sure the IRS have already audited all of their tax returns. What are they waiting for?

 

Why does Congress even get involved with her and her husband’s crimes? Whats worse is why Congress let her lie about tax crimes all these years.

 

Congress is literally filled with criminals, there shouldn’t be a decision that the leaders can absolve them of crimes. It seems the leaders never turn the criminals into law enforcement!

Agree but I volunteered as a room parent/office worker/bus/etc all the school years and had many lazy friends. It takes an effort to parent and to parent well. Many just didn’t and were more than happy to take advantage of free pre-K (glorified free babysitting) and free afterschool programs… and these were the stay at home parents I’m speaking of.

Chapter 18: X-ray Specs

Note 4: This is actually Chapter 18a (18b follows), but Speer labels it simply as 18.

Note 5: These twenty questions were prompted by Speer's comments, although the wording here is (mostly) my own.

  1. Why were the JFK X-rays taken with a portable unit – and does it matter? (p. 1)

No, it does not matter. The autopsy suite had no installed unit, so the only option was a portable unit. But Speer quotes (p. 7) Dr. John Ebersole (the autopsy radiologist, who practiced as a radiation oncologist): for the evening's chief purpose (locating metallic debris), this unit was quite satisfactory. I agree that a permanently installed unit would have added very little to this quest. The available images, which Speer describes as "poor," are actually quite adequate to the task. Furthermore, to call the portable equipment "not first-rate," as he does, is a gratuitous attack on GE, which was a major manufacturer of such portable equipment (and was also located in my childhood home of Wisconsin).

 

  1. Was the club-shaped (metallic) object in the forehead "basically invisible to the naked eye" on the original X-rays? (pp. 2 and 22)

No, that's wrong. Speer is correct to say that this object is hard to see on the unenhanced prints, but that is quite irrelevant – it is very easy to see on the extant X-rays. No one has ever said otherwise. See this fragment in my Figures 1 and 2 here. So far as I know, Speer has never actually viewed the extant X-rays at NARA (National Archives and Records Administration), so his conclusions derive solely from the published prints. (He has never asked me about my own viewing of the X-rays at NARA.) This fact (of his viewing only prints) becomes even more significant later in this critique (when he introduces his "slice"). Instead of the label "club-shaped" I have used "7 x 2 mm"; this describes its size (uncorrected for magnification) on the X-ray film. I have no intrinsic objection, however, to Speer's label. My Figures 1 and 2 are the enhanced X-ray prints prepared by the HSCA. Given a choice of viewing the extant X-rays or the enhanced prints, most experts would prefer to see the X-rays. The enhanced prints were produced primarily because they more accurately reflect the X-ray images (than do the unenhanced prints). Jim DiEugenio has asked whether the chiaroscuro effect (dark-light contrast) is as apparent on the actual X-rays as in the prints. Based on my recollection, that answer is "No." The act of printing is what increases the contrast; as anyone can see, that effect is especially evident in the unenhanced prints of the X-rays.

  1. Is it reasonable to conclude that the failure of Humes and friends to mention the apparent metal fragment seen within JFK's right orbit (which I have described as the 6.5 mm object) was "some kind of mistake"? (p. 2)

This is a clear mistake all right, but one by Speer, not by Humes. The pathologists were hardly the only ones to view the X-rays that night. While in the morgue, these images were on public display, where many attendees saw them and commented on them. But no one ever described the 6.5 mm object that night. And that was the whole point of the exercise – surely someone would have pointed it out. Even my son (at age 6) and daughter (at age 4) both easily identified it as the dominant feature of the AP X-ray (neither one was then board certified). When I asked Ebersole about it, he abruptly – and forever – stopped talking about the autopsy (listen to my taped interview at NARA). The explanation is simple – it was not there that night. Larry Sturdivan has his own idea: he does not regard this thing as metal (I agree). Instead, he describes it as an artifact (it is), although he seems a bit lost about how that happened (he is not alone). Furthermore, even if Sturdivan were right about this – and it was present that night – how in the world did everyone overlook it? Sturdivan does not comment on this. Even the ARRB experts (see my note 3 above for a reference) all emphasized the gross inconsistency (in optical density) of this thing as viewed on the AP X-ray vs. its partner image on the lateral X-ray. Furthermore, they all agreed on how to correlate its image on the AP with its image on the lateral X-rays, i.e., the 3D coordinates of the 6.5 mm object correlated with the fragment at the rear of the skull. (In my Figure 2, I have labeled this latter object as OTF – for "outer table fragment" – a phrase that derives from the Clark Panel.)

 

Such a gross inconsistency in optical density had never before occurred in forensic radiology. But the ultimate proof of this gross violation of basic radiology principles lies in the optical density (OD) data. Subjective opinions of the X-rays come cheap, but the OD measurements thoroughly validate these conclusions of gross inconsistency – and they do so in a quantitative (and potentially reproducible) fashion. These results were published in Assassination Science (James Fetzer 1998, pp. 120-137). Regrettably, except for incorrectly using one graph below, Speer does not address these OD data, nor does he offer even an opinion on why they might not be reliable. These data show that the 6.5 mm object (as seen on the AP X-ray) must be longer (from front to back) than all of JFK's dental amalgams stacked side by side – which is an obvious paradox. Aside from photographic superposition (in the darkroom) of this 6.5 mm object onto the AP X-ray, no one has even begun to explain that curious fact. Speer has now joined a large congregation of onlookers who have remained literally dumbstruck by the paradox of this 6.5 mm object. As just one example, John Fitzpatrick, the ARRB's forensic radiologist, who reviewed the 6.5 mm object on two different days, "…continued to be disturbed and puzzled by the fact that the large radio-opaque object in the AP skull X-ray could not be located on the lateral skull X-rays." See my Appendix 1 here for a summary of his findings. Even David Davis of the HSCA (p. 10) had trouble with these X-rays; he said, "It is impossible to work this out entirely."

Since Speer regards the brain photos as truly JFK's, he needs to square this comment with the nearly intact right brain seen in the autopsy photos. Unfortunately, he totally evades this issue. In fact, the OD data demonstrate that a good deal of the right brain was actually missing (which is consistent with the Parkland observations). Ultimately, however, this question cannot be answered – because authentic photographs of the brain no longer exist (Inside the Assassination Records Review Board 2009, Douglas Horne, Chapter 10).

 

  1. Is it common for the brain to settle at the rear after gunshot wounds? (p. 6)

Perhaps it does. Speer cites a peer reviewed article (Radiology 240; No. 2, pp. 522-528, August 2006), in which this occurred in 8 of 10 cases, but he omits the following details. This study included 78 wound tracks in 13 cases, i.e., about six per person (which is clearly different from JFK). All subjects were injured by high-velocity 7.62 mm bullets from an AK-47 (probably also different from JFK). The authors admit that decompositional changes (especially in the brain) could have affected their interpretation. In particular, a distinct linear track within the brain could not be identified in any case. In addition, they emphasize that their small sample size limited their conclusions and they reported that their results would still need to be confirmed in a larger study. I would add that Doug DeSalles and I do not recall a similar outcome (of such brain settling) in any of the nineteen (19, not 9) cases we reviewed (of fatal gunshot wounds to the skull). Also, as best I can now recall, our cases typically had suffered only a single head shot. If such a CT scan study had been available for JFK, many of today's mysteries about his skull trauma would have vanished; in particular, a 3D reconstruction of a skull (in this Radiology article) shows a remarkably detailed image of the comminuted skull fragments and skull fractures.

 

  1. Does it make any sense that the cowlick bullet (I think Speer has in mind the HSCA scenario) did not leave any fragments around the entry hole? (pp. 6 and 14)

But it did leave small fragments! See my slide 33 from the Dallas lecture or my Figure 3 here. My sketch shows tiny metallic debris lying immediately inferior to the 6.5 mm object and at least one piece (paradoxically) inside the 6.5 mm object! (There may be more inside.) These (exterior) pieces can actually be seen in my Figure 1 (horizontal lavender arrow). These observations were made before my Lasik surgery, when I was extremely myopic (-9 diopters) and I could see such small objects in amazing detail without eyeglasses. That these things are metal is strongly suggested by the lateral X-ray, where two tiny fragments lie near the inferior pole of OTF (but outside of it). These two may well have correlating images on the AP X-ray; such a correlation would virtually guarantee their authenticity as metallic debris (presumably from a ricochet). If OTF is authentic, no other fragments should be seen superimposed over the inside of it; in fact, none are (which is different from the 6.5 mm object seen on the AP X-ray).

the problem i have with judges is since everything is partisan to a degree now, many states do not list what political party a judge is affiliated with, and in theory it should not matter, but those awake have been able to see the ways judgements are made and its always political or racial. “The U.S. has fundamentally changed its approach to trade, raising its tariffs to levels last seen during the Great Depression,” said Carney in the nearly 10-minute-long address that was recorded in a home in Ottawa. “Many of our former strengths, based on our close ties to America, have become our weaknesses; weaknesses that we must correct.”

 

Workers in the auto, steel and lumber industries are “under threat” because of U.S. tariffs, he said, and businesses are holding back investments because of the “pall of uncertainty that’s hanging over all of us.”

 

“The U.S. has changed and we must respond,” said Carney, before launching into his Liberal government’s record and achievements, and invoking the “Canada Strong” plan he announced during the 2025 election campaign; a plan that was meant to Trump-proof the nation.

The new reality

 

Without naming the opposition Conservatives, Carney seemed to allude to them when he said there are “some who say there’s no need for a comprehensive plan” –- that Canadians should “wait it out” in the hope that U.S. relations will go back to how they were in the “good old days.”

 

He pointed out that young Canadians have experienced no such good days – their entire lives having been impacted by the shocks and crises of global wars, financial strife and COVID-19.

 

He admitted his plans that include building new trade and energy corridors, doubling the size of clean energy capacity and creating “one Canadian economy out of 13” are ambitious. “But in a crisis, fortune favours the bold,” he said.

 

The prime minister then showed a small statue of Maj.-Gen. Sir Isaac Brock, the British army officer known as the “Hero of Upper Canada” for his role during the War of 1812. He said the statue, a gift from comedian Mike Myers, reminds him “that when we’re united as Canadians, we can withstand anything.”

 

“Before Canada even existed, it had a shape in Brock’s imagination,” said Carney. “Faced with the threat of an American invasion, Brock built alliances across our land and inspired what would eventually become Canada.”

 

Carney continued referencing history, saying it was an “ambitious” and “determined” Canada that built big things like the St. Lawrence Seaway, the CN Tower and the Trans-Canada Highway after the Second World War. He said his government is making big structural changes now, too, to “make us stronger at home and less reliant on the United States.”

 

He closed his message with a sentiment meant to instill confidence, invoking a practice called “forward guidance” that he developed during the financial crisis when he was governor of the Bank of Canada – a practice that involved using “overwhelming force against our problems until they were solved.”

 

“There’s much forward guidance to be found in our shared history. We will get through this because of who we have always been,” he said. “It’s our country. It’s our future. We are taking back control, to build Canada strong.”

Iran war updates: IRGC says Hormuz closed until US blockade lifted

 

Here’s what happened today

 

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps has said the Strait of Hormuz is closed again, blaming US “violations” of the ceasefire agreement.

It said the vital shipping lane would remain closed until the US ends its blockade of Iranian ports.

An attack on UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon resulted in the death of one French soldier and the wounding of several others.

Hezbollah, the Lebanese armed group, denied all responsibility for the attack.

Meanwhile, Israel carried out at least two strikes on southern Lebanon, despite a two-day-old ceasefire.

Hezbollah’s leader, Naim Qassem, said the truce between Lebanon and Israel could not be “one-sided”, and that its fighters remain in the field, prepared to respond to Israeli aggression.

US President Donald Trump has lashed out at Iran, saying it could not “blackmail” the US by using its control over the Strait of Hormuz.

 

Bahrain condemns Lebanon attack that killed French soldier serving with UNIFIL

 

The Foreign Ministry of Bahrain has condemned the “terrorist” attack that killed a French soldier serving with UNIFIL, and wounded three others as a “flagrant violation” of international law.

 

In a statement, the ministry said it affirmed Bahrain’s solidarity with Lebanon and support for the efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.

 

It also expressed its backing for the work of UNIFIL in maintaining peace and stability in Lebanon.

Iranian official says no enriched uranium to be sent to US

 

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh says his country will not send any enriched uranium to the US and that the question is “not open for discussion”.

 

The IRNA news agency reported on Khatibzadeh’s comments, which came on the sidelines of a diplomatic meeting in Turkiye.

 

“Multiple messages have been exchanged between Iran and the United States, but [the US] insists on demands that Tehran considers excessive,” he said, according to IRNA.

 

US, Iran, and the ‘escalation trap’

Robert Pape, a professor of political science at the University of Chicago, has cautioned that the war “is very far from over”.

 

“I realise there are great hopes; there’s been tremendous pain and damage as a result of this war.But we need to understand that there are large zero-sum differences between the United States and Iran,” he told Al Jazeera.

 

Pape said the reason for this is “simply not the result of complexity or bad diplomatic skills”,but the fact that both sides cannot have their preferred outcome in their key issues.

 

“Iran wants Hormuz, and it wants to keep its enriched uranium; and the US wants exactly the opposite, not half of a loaf –and that’s what’s really standing in the way,” he added.

 

For Pape, the “most troubling part” of this reality is that both sides are signalling they prefer war to losing on one of these key issues.

 

“That’s the real rub here and why you can’t just simply divide everything in the middle or have one side lose, because it will just go back to an escalation,” he said,adding that this circles back to the “escalation trap”.

 

“Both sides are now trapped where they prefer fighting to surrendering on one of these core issues, and it’s not likely to be resolved really any time soon,” Pape said, warning that this could effectively go on for weeks and even months.

Trump says US envoys due in Pakistan Monday despite Iran ceasefire ‘violation’

An Iranian delegation will arrive in Pakistan on Tuesday for talks with the United States, CNN reported citing Iranian sources familiar with the negotiations.

Jeff Bezos' space company just took a giant leap forward on its path to reusable orbital rockets, even as it tracks an "off-nominal" orbit of its latest satellite launch.

Blue Origin's huge New Glenn rocket launched into space for the third time ever Sunday morning (April 19) — but, in a first for the company, it soared into orbit powered by previously flown hardware.

The mission, called NG-3, carried the massive payload BlueBird 7, a direct-to-cellphone internet satellite, to low Earth orbit (LEO), and flew atop the same first-stage booster core that launched NG-2, but with new engines.

(Just over 2 hours after launch, Blue Origin confirmed the Bluebird 7 satellite was in an off-nominal orbit.)

 

"NG-3 is a huge flight for us. It's the first flight of our reflown booster," Jordan Charles, vice president of New Glenn for Blue Origin, said during launch commentary.

"Definitely super proud of our refurbishment team for getting this rocket turned around in the time that they did," he added.

 

Liftoff for NG-3 occurred at 7:25 a.m. EDT (1125 GMT) from Blue Origin's Launch Complex 36 pad at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

Blue Origin had hoped to launch the flight at 6:45 a.m. EDT (1045 GMT), at the start of a 2-hour window, but paused the countdown at T-3 minutes, 57 seconds for a bit due to an undisclosed reason.

The clock resumed with a new launch time a just after 7 a.m. EDT.

 

Aside from the countdown hiccup, the rest of the launch appeared to go as planned.

New Glenn's first stage shut off its engines and separated from the upper part of the rocket about 3.5 minutes into flight, landing back on Blue Origin's droneship "Jacklyn" in the Atlantic Ocean around six minutes later.

Blue Origin workers across the country cheered loudly as the booster returned to Earth, chanting GS-1 (the technical name of the booster, which Blue Origin calls "Never Tell Me The Odds") during landing.

 

Charles said Blue Origin engineers refurbished the thermal protection system along the base of the rocket the once more handle the heat of reentry.

"That gets pretty hot as you're coming in during our reentry process," Charles said. "So we want to definitely see and correlate a bit better our thermal environments as we're as we're flying this particular mission."

 

Blue Origin also made guidance system upgrades to the booster for today's flight.

"We made a few tweaks with respect to how the rocket actually reenters, and then on the inside of the rocket, just making sure all of our systems continue to work as we as we expect that they will," Charles said.

The first reuse of a New Glenn first stage, even if its engines are new, is a significant step toward the company's ultimate vision for the rocket, whose first stages are designed to fly at least 25 times apiece.

 

Of the two New Glenn missions to date, only NG-2 successfully landed its first stage aboard the Jacklyn droneship.

That mission launched NASA's ESCAPADE probes on a mission to Mars in November 2025. New Glenn debuted in January 2025, on a mission that reached orbit successfully but did not pull off a first-stage landing.

A hefty payload

The main goal of Sunday's New Glenn rocket launch was not to demonstrate reusability, but to launch a massive satellite into orbit.

BlueBird 7 is the second "Block 2" satellite in the internet constellation of Texas-based company AST SpaceMobile. Its predecessor, BlueBird 6, launched on an Indian LVM3 rocket last December.

BlueBird 6 is one of the largest satellites in space, with an antenna that spans 2,400 square feet (223 square meters). BlueBird 7 has the same dimensions.

 

BlueBirds 1-5, the "Block 1" version, while sizable in their own right, pale in comparison; their antennas cover a more modest 693 square feet (64.4 m) apiece.

Bluebird 7 was scheduled to be deployed into orbit from New Glenn's upper stage about 1 hour and 15 minutes after liftoff. But about 2 hours after liftoff, Blue Origin reported that something appeared to go wrong.

"We have confirmed payload separation. AST SpaceMobile has confirmed the satellite has powered on," Blue Origin wrote in a social media update.

"The payload was placed into an off-nominal orbit. We are currently assessing and will update when we have more detailed information." It is unclear if AST SpaceMobile will be able to move Bluebird 7 into a usable orbit from its off-nominal state.

We are awaiting more details on its status.

 

This third launch of New Glenn is a major milestone for Blue Origin, which has designed the rocket's first stage to be fully reusable.

Such a capability would allow the company to compete with SpaceX's Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy and Starship rockets, the only orbital-capable boosters to date with proven reusability.

 

New Glenn stands 322 feet (98 meters) tall — about the same size as the NASA Space Launch System (SLS) rocket that launched the Artemis 2 mission around the moon, and nearly 100 feet (30 m) taller than the 230-foot (70-m) Falcon 9.

New Glenn's first stage is powered by seven BE-4 engines, which burn a fuel mixture of liquid oxygen and liquid methane, known as methalox — the same fuel used by the 33 SpaceX-built Raptor engines that power Starship's Super Heavy booster. And right now, both launch vehicles need to prove themselves.

 

Blue Origin is relying on New Glenn to launch the company's Blue Moon lander, one of two commercial vehicles NASA selected to land astronauts on the moon as part of the agency's Artemis program.

SpaceX had been NASA's first choice for a crewed lunar lander, with Starship slated to put astronauts on the moon on the Artemis 3 mission. But delays in the development of both companies' spacecraft and a recent shakeup of Artemis architecture has put Blue Moon back in the spotlight.

 

During Sunday's launch, Blue Origin officials said its Mark 1 Blue Moon lander, an uncrewed version of the lander, will launch to the moon by the end of this summer.

The lander recently completed environmental testing at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston. It is now back at Blue Origin's Rocket Park facility in Cape Canaveral for final work.

Artemis 3 will no longer go to the moon. NASA now wants astronauts aboard its Orion spacecraft to practice rendezvous and docking maneuvers in Earth orbit with either or both of the lunar landers, and has indicated a willingness to fly with whichever is ready once it's time to launch — hopefully, in mid-2027.

 

Both landers have a list of qualifications and technology demonstrations to complete before NASA certifies either to support astronauts aboard, such as on-orbit cryogenic fuel transfer and uncrewed lunar landings, but each is making progress.

SpaceX is currently performing prelaunch tests on the Version 3 of its Super Heavy booster and Starship upper stage, which are expected to lift off on the vehicle's 12th test flight in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, the Mark 1 (Mk1) Blue Moon vehicle recently completed a stint inside the massive vacuum chamber at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston and was later shipped to the Kennedy Space Center, in Florida, for further testing.

The 7%-lit waxing crescent moon will pass over the Pleiades at 12:52 p.m. EDT (1652 GMT), during the daytime for viewers in the U.S. as the lunar disk glides unseen above the eastern horizon alongside the stars of the constellation Taurus, according to in-the-sky.org.

Viewers in Italy, on the other hand, will be perfectly positioned to witness the moon slip from the Pleiades in the hours following sunset, as the lunar disk arcs towards the western horizon, chasing the glow of the retreating sun.

 

When can I watch?

The Virtual Telescope Project's YouTube livestream will begin at 2 p.m. EDT (1800 GMT) on April 19, providing real-time telescopic views from its panoramic telescope as the crescent moon slips from the Pleiades in the skies over Italy, weather permitting.

"It will be a memorable sight involving our satellite, showing as a sharp crescent with its elegant 'earthshine' and one of the most iconic deep-sky gems, Messier 45," Virtual Telescope Project founder Gianluca Masi told Space.com in an email.

 

Earthshine occurs when sunlight bounces off our planet's cloudy atmosphere to strike the moon, bathing its unlit side in a subtle glow that can reveal the dark forms of lunar maria, vast plains where ancient lava once cooled and hardened into sweeping basaltic landscapes.

The occultation takes place just two days after the April 17 new moon. Earthshine is particularly easy to spot around this time and the relatively weak glow from the moon's sunlit crescent won't be enough to obscure the light of the Pleiades, as its stars — more than 1,000 in total —shine about 445 light-years away in the constellation Taurus.

This snapshot is just a small part of one of the most comprehensive and spectacular views yet of the universe — a web-like structure formed by millions of galaxies, stretching back to near the dawn of time.

Each tiny point in the image represents a galaxy mapped by the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI). The galaxies aren't randomly distributed; instead, they form in filaments and clusters known as the cosmic web.

Between these luminous strands of galaxies are vast empty regions known as voids, where few stars or galaxies exist.

 

The image is from the largest high-resolution 3D map of the universe ever created. DESI, which is mounted on the Nicholas U.

Mayall 4-meter Telescope at Kitt Peak National Observatory in Arizona, uses 5,000 robotic fiber-optic sensors to capture light from distant celestial objects.

 

The five-year survey was supposed to gather data on 34 million galaxies and quasars (the bright cores of distant young galaxies).

In practice, it detected over 47 million, along with more than 20 million nearby stars in the Milky Way. A visualization published alongside DESI's map shows how it has grown over those five years.

 

Some of the light captured in this image took billions of years to reach Kitt Peak, so it allows scientists to look back in time to reconstruct how the universe evolved.

The result is a three-dimensional view that not only shows where galaxies are but also how they have moved and clustered over time.

 

Beyond its visual impact, the image plays a crucial role in probing mysterious dark energy, the name physicists have given to a force that appears to be driving the universe's accelerated expansion.

It makes up roughly 70% of the universe, and its nature and distribution are among the biggest questions in physics.

 

By comparing the distribution of galaxies across different epochs, researchers can track how dark energy has influenced the structure of the universe over the past 11 billion years.

Early DESI data has already hinted that dark energy may evolve through cosmic history ‪—‬ a breakthrough that would fundamentally reshape scientists' understanding of the universe and its ultimate fate.

 

The image is the result of a massive international collaboration. More than 900 researchers from over 70 institutions contributed to the project, which was led by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and funded by the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science.

DESI will continue observing the sky through 2028, expanding its map by about 20%. Future observations will target fainter and more distant galaxies, as well as harder-to-observe regions near the Milky Way (where stars get in the way) and in the southern sky (which requires the telescope to peer through more of Earth's atmosphere). Russia’s patience is not unlimited and could eventually “run out,” Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has warned, accusing the West of pushing Ukraine into a wider conflict and repeatedly crossing Moscow’s red lines.

Speaking at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Türkiye on Saturday, Lavrov rejected what he called a growing Western perception that Russia is unable or unwilling to respond to provocations.

He cited reports of Ukraine using the airspace of several NATO states for drone strikes on Russian territory as another breach of Moscow’s “red lines,” warning against dismissing Russia as a “paper tiger” amid its restraint.

 

“There is a chorus of voices saying that Russia should not be feared… some may even call us a paper tiger… But I would warn against such parallels,” Lavrov said.

The factory that makes Russia’s killer drones burned again overnight — Neptune missile attack conformed

Ukraine's Naval Forces struck a Russian drone factory in Taganrog, Rostov Oblast, with Neptune cruise missiles overnight on 19 April, according to the Ukrainian Navy's Telegram channel.

The same overnight operation also hit ammunition depots, logistics warehouses, and fuel infrastructure across occupied Ukrainian territory, the General Staff reported.

Ukraine has been systematically targeting military, fuel, and defense-industrial facilities inside Russia as part of a broader campaign to degrade the military-production capacity Russia relies on to sustain daily strikes on Ukrainian cities and infrastructure.

 

Neptune missiles hit Atlant Aero's production building

The Navy confirmed a precision strike with Neptune cruise missiles on the production building of Atlant Aero in Taganrog. A fire broke out at the facility.

The General Staff described Atlant Aero as a defense-industrial enterprise conducting the full cycle of design, manufacture, and testing of Molniya-type strike-reconnaissance UAVs and components for the Orion UAV.

 

Ukrainian Telegram channel Exilenova+ first reported explosions over Taganrog at around 4:45 a.m.

Initial reports pointed to the TagAZ (Taganrog Automobile Plant) site — Exilenova+ later confirmed that Atlant Aero occupies premises on the TagAZ grounds.

Russian news Telegram channel Astra analyzed photo and video materials from local residents and identified the Atlant Aero premises as the point of impact.

Rostov Oblast Governor Yurii Slyusar claimed a "rocket strike" hit "commercial infrastructure" and started a fire in "warehouse premises" — without mentioning the drone factory by name.

 

What Atlant Aero produces

According to Ukraine's Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR) War & Sanctions portal, as cited by Militarnyi, Atlant Aero manufactures FPV aircraft-type kamikaze drones, including the Molniia-1, Molniia-2, and the reconnaissance variant Molniia-2R.

The facility also produces components for Orion drones.

 

The General Staff noted that the Orion weighs approximately one tonne and can carry up to 250 kg of payload.

That payload can include aerial photography systems, radio-technical intelligence modules, optoelectronic systems, KAB-20 guided bombs, Kh-50 cruise missiles, and Kh-UAV missiles.

Atlant Aero sits approximately 40–50 km from Ukraine's state border, near the occupied part of Donetsk Oblast, and roughly 180 km from the frontline.

The Navy said the strike means "reduced enemy production capacity and hundreds fewer drones that destroy our cities and villages, killing civilians."

 

Other overnight targets

The General Staff also reported that Ukraine struck an ammunition depot near Trudove in occupied Zaporizhzhia Oblast;

logistics warehouses near Manhush, Topolyne, and Mariupol in Donetsk Oblast; logistics warehouses near Smile in Zaporizhzhia Oblast; and fuel tanks near Novopoltavka, also in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Losses and the full extent of damage are still being assessed.

 

The General Staff also updated results from an earlier strike on Russia's Tuapse oil refinery: the AVT-12 primary oil processing unit was damaged along with RVS-10000 storage tanks, which caught fire.

At the adjacent oil terminal, Ukraine damaged loading pier equipment, buildings, and additional RVS-10000 tanks.

 

Pattern of strikes on Atlant Aero

Ukraine has struck Atlant Aero before. In January 2026, Ukrainian missiles hit the facility, damaging the final UAV assembly workshop, two production buildings, and the administrative offices.

Earlier, Ukraine also targeted Atlant Aero alongside the Beriev Aviation Scientific-Technical Complex in Taganrog.
