Christian Singer Phillip Vaught Charged In Tennessee With Child Sex Abuse

 

Christian musician Phillip Vaught is behind bars in Hendersonville, Tennessee, after being charged with sexual exploitation of a minor.

 

According to reports by the Sumner County News and WSMV-TV Ch. 4, an NBC affiliate in Nashville, Vaught is being held on a $1.5 million bond.

 

Vaught was indicted on four charges: continuous sexual abuse of a child; especially aggravated sexual exploitation; statutory rape by an authority figure; and sexual exploitation of a minor.

 

Hendersonville police arrested the country-rock singer on Friday, April 10, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, where he was scheduled to play at the Waterview Casino.

 

Police told the media that after a lengthy investigation, they concluded that the “God Lives (This Is America)” singer was responsible.

 

“[The investigation came from a] delayed report of sexual abuse against a female juvenile,” police told the media.

 

Vaught faced a grand jury in Hendersonville, 18 miles southeast of Nashville, on Monday. Authorities have not released details about the victim, time and location of the offense. Police have asked the public to come forward with information about any further incidents involving Vaught.

 

Vaught, according to his website, plays 200 shows a year worldwide and was hailed as the “future of country music” by Eliot Lewis of the pop rock duo Hall and Oates.

So-called “background” information was provided in the cable which gave vague details on a 2006 nuclear smuggling sting operation in which the U.S. government took possession of some HEU previously owned by the Russians.

"Over two years ago Russia requested a ten-gram sample of highly enriched uranium (HEU) seized in early 2006 in Georgia during a nuclear smuggling sting operation involving one Russian national and several Georgian accomplices. The seized HEU was transferred to U.S. custody and is being held at a secure DOE facility."

 

The secret “action request,” dated Aug. 17, 2009, was sent out by Secretary of State Clinton and was addressed to the United States Ambassador to Georgia Embassy Tbilisi, the Russian Embassy, and Ambassador John Beyrle.

 

It proposed that FBI Director Robert Mueller be the one that personally conduct the transfer a 10-gram sample of HEU to Russian law enforcement sources during a secret “plane-side” meeting on a “tarmac” in the early fall of 2009.

"We require that the transfer of this material be conducted at the airport, on the tarmac near by the plane, upon arrival of the Director's aircraft."

 

The FBI Director was originally scheduled to ‘return’ a sample from the DOE stockpile to the Russians in April but the trip was postponed until September 21.

 

Paragraph number 6 of the leaked cable confirms Dir. Mueller’s Sept. 21 flight to Moscow.

 

“(S/Rel Russia) Action request: Embassy Moscow is requested to alert at the highest appropriate level the Russian Federation that FBI Director Mueller plans to deliver the HEU sample once he arrives to Moscow on September 21. Post is requested to convey information in paragraph 5 with regard to chain of custody, and to request details on Russian Federation’s plan for picking up the material. Embassy is also requested to reconfirm the April 16 understanding from the FSB verbally that we will have no problem with the Russian Ministry of Aviation concerning Mueller’s September 21 flight clearance.”

VATICAN CITY (CNS) — Established almost 500 years ago, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith is no longer “the Inquisition” — rather, its main focus is handing down the teachings of the apostles, said the office’s prefect.

 

“Our mission is to promote and protect the doctrine of the faith. It is a task that will always be necessary for the church, which has the duty to transmit the teaching of the apostles to the next generation,” Cardinal Luis Ladaria Ferrer, congregation prefect, told Vatican News Feb. 1.

 

Called the Sacred Roman and Universal Inquisition when it was instituted in 1542, the congregation was initially a tribunal exclusively for cases of heresy and schism, but soon its responsibilities were expanded to include “everything relating directly or indirectly to faith and morals,” according to the congregation’s website.

 

Of the many people examined in the early days, the one mentioned most often is Italian scientist Galileo Galilei, who was found “vehemently suspect of heresy.” St. John Paul II issued a declaration in 1992, recognizing the error of Galileo’s trial.

 

The Index of Forbidden Books was originally entrusted to the Inquisition until it became its own congregation for three centuries until 1917 when its duties were again handed back to the Sacred Congregation of the Holy Office — the Inquisition’s new name after it was reorganized by Pope Pius X in 1908.

 

It was again reformed in 1965 by St. Paul VI and renamed the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. The Index of Prohibited Books was also abrogated.

 

Cardinal Ladaria told Vatican News, “The past of our congregation still weighs heavily, since we have not always acknowledged the profound changes that have taken place in the church and in the Roman Curia in recent times.”

 

“We are no longer the Inquisition; the index no longer exists,” he said.

 

“What was called the ‘concern for correct doctrine’ came about before the Holy Office, it already existed in the New Testament” and it can be seen in the many councils and synods held since, he added.

 

“Certainly, the concrete way of carrying out this task has changed over the course of the centuries and we can imagine that it will continue to change,” the cardinal said. “But the concern for fidelity to the doctrine of the apostles will always remain.”

 

According to the office’s website, the methods used for doctrinal examination were updated in the 1965 reforms, emphasizing that “over the punitive tendency of condemnation, the positive disposition of correcting from the errors, together with protection, preservation and promotion of the faith, prevailed.”

 

In 2001, St. John Paul II charged the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith with the authority to handle cases of accusations of the sexual abuse of minors by clergy and an updated version of these norms was promulgated by Pope Benedict XVI in 2010.

 

The changes allowed the Vatican to identify and judge reported cases and issue sanctions more rapidly than had been the case before.

 

Regarding this aspect of the congregation’s work, Cardinal Ladaria said, “We must study and resolve the many cases of abuse of which we become aware.”

As I went shopping today, had a small dark SUV built on a car chassis, slow down to my pace as the rear window was opened, and someone pointed a green water pistol at me and sprayed me, blocking all traffic behind them, which made the car behind them, tail them to the next light on their bumper. The angle that the pistol retracted was as if the person in the back withdrew it to the middle of the car on a downward angle, and there was no laughing. They were the first vehicle from the stop light and I heard them speed ahead of other cars just to slow down where I was walking, where there is a propane refueling station and a house with multiple mailboxes, and the road narrows from two lanes into one. This is why the drivers behind got mad, because he set the tempo for other vehicles, only to come to reduce speed to 4mph, walking speed. The SUV had an X pattern in the back from it's body moldings design. Something like this was not random and was designed as a veiled threat of assassination, because of how it had to be coordinated to be pulled off in such a manner; meaning we can get to you, and are watching you, and we are coordinated. Though the west neighbor saw me leave as he cut his lawn, he did not stop. I believe it was the neighbor across the street that has a camera pointed at my front door which coordinated it because as I stared at his driveway just before, he flashed his car lock and lights as a mockery, and has done this on other incidences as have the eastern neighbor when they harass. President Donald Trump has signed a 10-day extension of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, keeping the warrantless surveillance program alive through April 30 after House Republican leaders failed overnight to move either a five-year rewrite or a clean 18-month renewal the White House had demanded.

 

Section 702 allows the National Security Agency, FBI, CIA, and other agencies to collect the communications of foreign targets abroad without individualized warrants.

 

Americans in contact with those targets can be swept in, and privacy advocates in both parties have long pushed for a warrant requirement before agencies search that data for U.S.-person information.

Rep. Nancy Mace is calling for a reckoning in the halls of Congress following the resignation of Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell.

She accused the political establishment of shielding predators to protect their own power and introduced a resolution to stop it.

Mace joined “Saturday in America” to discuss the resolution she put forward for the House Ethics Committee to release its records on sexual harassment by lawmakers.

“I think there should be an avalanche of resignations,” Mace said, adding, “I want every single predator that’s in Congress now to be forced to resign. I don’t care how long it takes. If we can do it fast, let’s do it now, regardless of party.”

Mace’s renewed action comes after Swalwell resigned from Congress and ended his California gubernatorial bid earlier this month following multiple sexual misconduct allegations.

At least five women have accused him of misconduct, including Lonna Drewes, who alleges he drugged and raped her in a hotel room in 2018.

Since the allegations surfaced, some journalists and political operatives have said Swalwell’s behavior was widely known on Capitol Hill.

Mace said she wants to end the culture of silence on both sides of the political aisle.

“Both parties decided that they would vote against revealing the sexual harassment records of their own party,” Mace said of a previous vote that failed on the issue.

“What happens is both parties will protect the other because they don’t want their skeletons out there,” she added.
