🇺🇸🇲🇦⚡️- A Moroccan military search team has recovered one of the bodies from the two U.S. Service members who went missing last week during AFRICOM exercise African Lion 26.

 

AFRICOM has identified the soldier as 1st Lt. Kendrick Lamont Key Jr., 27, of Richmond, Virginia. He was a platoon leader assigned to Charlie Battery, 5th Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command.

 

His body was found along the shoreline roughly one mile from where both soldiers entered the ocean. The search and rescue mission is still underway for the second missing soldier.

A conversation involving House members from Virginia and the top House Democrat reflected the fury and desperation that has gripped the party after Friday’s ruling in the state.

Democrats are struggling to respond to a major redistricting setback in Virginia, with some partyleaders discussing an audacious and possibly far-fetched idea for trying to restore a congressional map voidedby the court but showing little indication they have a clear plan.

 

During a private discussion on Saturday thatincluded Democratic House members from Virginiaand Representative Hakeem Jeffries of New York, the minority leader,the lawmakers vented anger at their defeat at the Virginia Supreme Court, spokeabout a collective determination to flip two or three Republican-held seats under the existing mapanddiscussed a bank-shot proposal to redraw the congressional lines anyway, according to three people who participated in the call and two others who were briefed on it.

 

They did not land on a specific course forward, and Mr.Jeffries and the other members of Congress agreed to consult with their lawyers about the most prudent way to proceed, said the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe a private talk.

Hantavirus

 

In 1978, the etiologic agent of Korean Hemerologic fever was isolated from small infected field rodent Apodemus agrarius near Hantan river in South Korea. The virus was named as Hantaan virus, after the name of the river Hantan. This initial discovery dates back to scientific approaches that were initiated after the Korean war (1951-1953), during which more than 3000 cases of Korean hemorrhagic fever were reported among UN troops. In 1981, Hantaan virus strain 76-118, isolated from Apodemus agrarius was grown in A549 cell line, and its electron microscopic images revealed that the virus was a new member of the Bunyaviridae family. It was observed that hantaviruses unlike other members of this family do not have an arthropod vector, and exclusively establish a persistent infection in the population of their specific rodent hosts. In 1981, a new genus termed as “hantavirus” was introduced in the Bunyaviridae family, which included the viruses that cause hemoroligic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) (Fig1). It was initially thought that pathogenic hantaviruses are restricted to old word. Until 1993, the only native hantavirus found in new word was non pathogenic Prospect Hill virus (PHV). This myth ended after the hantavirus outbreak in the four corner region of Southwestern United States that caused serious respiratory distress in infected patients and lead to the discovery of a new hantavirus disease called hantavirus cardiopulmonary syndrome (HPS). An examination of frozen stored samples of lung tissue from people who had died of unexplained lung disease in the past revealed that HPS is an old disease with conformed cases dating to at least 1959. Within a very short period the virus causing HPS was isolated from common dear mouse (Peromyscus maniculatus, Fig 1) and was later named as Sin Nombre virus (SNV). Later on, it became clear that other hantaviruses similar to SNV, such as Andes virus (ANDV), are present through out the united states. Currently, the hantavirus genus includes more than twenty one species and more than 30 genotypes (Table 1).

 

Hantaviruses have coevolved for millions of years with their rodent and insectivore reservoirs. Rodent reservoirs include both Cricetidae rodents (subfamilies Arvicolinae, Neotominae and Sigmodontinae) and Muridae rodents (subfamily Murinae). Cricetidae rodents include voles, lemmings of the northern hemisphere and new world mice and rats. Muridae rodents include old world mice and rats (Fig 2). Hantavirus phylogeny follows closely that of their rodent hosts, suggesting long term co-evolution, although there are evidences of occasional host switches in the past. The phylogenetic tree suggests that co-speciation of hantavirus with their host animals of four different rodent subfamilies appears to influence their ability to cause a specific clinical manifestation in humans. For example, a majority of viruses in Neotominae and Sigmodontinae subfamilies are known to cause severe HPS with high mortality rate (40-50%). Starmer is a dead man walking - the vultures have been circling for a while- but one person should be especially panicked byMr Brown's arrival as his international finance envoy.

With no political authority to conduct a reshuffle,he appointed a ghost to run the rule over the nation's finances.

Mr Brown - who became prime ministerin a coronation after Tony Blair left Downing Street -was an unpopular and deeply frustrated leader.

 

But he was respected as Chancellor, a job he held for 10 years.

 

During his time at the Treasury,his favourite word was prudence and the careful stewardship of the public finances. It is a word that doesn't exist in the lexicon of Rachel Reeves, who has taxed the economy to oblivion.

 

Mr Brown's role might be part-time and unpaid, but the implication of his appointment is clear.

 

If anyone comes close to being asuniversally unpopular as Starmer, it is Ms Reeves, who has made such a hash of running the economy that it is now on life support.

 

In his new role, Mr Brown reports directly to the Prime Minister, thus bypassing the Treasury.

 

It is clear this is a move borne out of desperation, and whenStarmer goes, as he surely will, he'll take his catastrophic Chancellor with him.

As part of the role, he will engage with international leaders and finance institutions as well as private finance partnersto establish multilateral finance mechanisms.

 

In other words, Ms Reeves is out of her depth.

 

The view of Mr Brown has softened over the years, buthis light-touch regulation of the City and high public spendingin the years leading up to the financial crash of 2008 have been blamed for exposing the UK to the global crisis.

 

And between 1999 and 2002,he flogged approximately 395 tonnes of gold reserves- more than half of the total holding -at a 20-year price low, costing the UK billions in potential value.

 

Still, that's Labour for you. They will always play fast and loose with other people's money, regardless of who is in charge.

More than half a million illegal migrants have massed in north Africa readying to flood into Europe, the Greek Government has warned.

 

The country's Migration Minister, Thanos Plevris, sounded the alarm this week, revealing that Greek authorities believe around 550,000 migrants are in Libya alone awaiting the opportunity to break into the continent.

 

Mr Plevris said his country was working alongside Libya and the EU's Frontex border force to prevent the boats from setting sail across the Mediterranean.

 

He told Greek media outlet Voria: “Those who are not entitled to asylum will be detained.

 

“Now, when it is likely that someone will not get asylum, they are not placed in a freedom status but in a detention status, so that with the rejection of asylum, they can be returned.”

 

The minister declared “there is no reason for Greece to open its borders and accept people”, adding that the country will "operate within the legal framework, but will also reach its limits in order to protect the borders".

 

Since 2015, Greece has been a major gateway for over 1.2 million illegal migrants flooding into Europe - with many going on to make their way into Britain.

 

Greece's Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, has implemented a host of policies in recent years aimed at tackling the country's migrant crisis.

 

Athens erected a 25-mile wall along its coastline to block migrants flooding in from Turkey.

 

Th Greek Government has made it a specific criminal offence to enter the country illegally, with penalties of up to two years in prison and a fine of up to €10,000 (£8,655).

 

The law also applies to migrants who have overstayed their visas or refuse to leave Greece once their asylum claims are rejected.

 

Once applications are turned down, migrants can be ankle-monitored and are given two weeks to leave the country or face up to five years in prison.

 

After the legislation was implemented last year, Mr Plevris said: “We are accountable to Greek citizens, and Greek citizens want to be protected.

 

"The message is clear [for migrants]: if your asylum request is rejected, you have two choices.

 

"Either you go to jail or return to your homeland. The Greek state does not accept you… You are not welcome.”

 

Almost 940,000 prospective migrants are believed to have been living in Libya at the end of 2025, according to the United Nations’ International Organisation for Migration.

 

The majority live in the cities of Tripoli and Benghazi, with most believed to be from Chad, Egypt, Niger, Nigeria, and Sudan.

 

The warning from Greece comes as Britain's own crisis hit a damning milestone, with the number of illegal migrants breaking into the country via small boat since 2018 now surpassing 200,000.

 

The grim tally was reached on Friday morning after a group of 70 migrants were taken to the Border Force processing centre at Dover.

 

The group had been on a dinghy that launched from a beach near Dunkirk just before 7.30am.

He threatened to withhold $530,000 in state public-safety grants unless the city canceled the event, which was initially advertised as open to “Muslims only.” City officials quickly scrapped it after revising the policy to require “modest dress only” and open access.

 

The action fits a broader pattern in the Lone Star State. Abbott has signed legislation banning “Sharia compounds” and backed Attorney General Ken Paxton’s investigations into the proposed East Plano Islamic Center residential development, which critics argue could create isolated enclaves.

 

Republican lawmakers have formed “Sharia-Free” caucuses, targeted the Council on American-Islamic Relations and seen strong primary-voter support — 95% in a non-binding poll — for measures to bar Sharia law in Texas courts.

 

Also on the Federal level, Texas Rep. Chip Roy and other GOP leaders have supported the push as essential to national security and preserving American values.

 

The state-level initiatives and coordination with Trump reinforce goals of preventing parallel societies, protecting public resources and ensuring cultural compatibility, without waiting for Washington. It serves as a model for proactive state-level enforcement complementing federal Trump administration counter-terrorism and border policies.

 

In Oklahoma, state lawmakers, including Sen. David Bullard, advanced a constitutional amendment to bar courts and municipalities from applying any foreign or religious law undermining the U.S. or state constitutions. This follows the Broken Arrow City Council’s January 2026 denial of a rezoning request for a new mosque amid public concerns over infrastructure, compatibility, and broader Sharia-related issues; Attorney General Gentner Drummond launched an investigation. GOP gubernatorial candidates have highlighted radical Islam and Sharia threats in campaigns.

 

Additionally, Missouri lawmakers debated bills barring the application of foreign and religious laws in courts. Arkansas saw similar resolutions. These build on a decade-long trend (with states like Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, Arizona, Kansas, North Carolina, and South Dakota having adopted earlier anti-foreign law measures) but gained fresh energy in 2025–2026 legislative sessions tied to Trump momentum and midterm priorities.

Hong Kong has become a critical financial and logistical lifeline for Iran’s regime — helping move illicit oil, weapons technology and surveillance tools that fuel Tehran’s military machine and domestic repression, according to a bombshell report set for release Monday.

 

The 26-page report by the Committee for Freedom in Hong Kong Foundation, titled “Oil, Arms, and Cash: How Hong Kong Fuels the Iranian Regime,” alleges that dozens of Hong Kong-based companies have helped Iran evade Western sanctions while funneling billions of dollars into the hands of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its terror proxies.

 

“Simply put, without Hong Kong’s help, Iran would not have the money and the missiles that make it so dangerous,” the report states.

 

“The evidence is consistent and damning,” the report says, citing “Hong Kong’s easy registration of shell companies, its globally connected banking sector, its secretive corporate services infrastructure, and the indifference of its government to Western law enforcement cooperation.”

 

The report details how Hong Kong-linked firms allegedly facilitated the shipment of Iranian crude oil to China through shadow fleets using deceptive ship-to-ship transfers and falsified cargo documents.

 

''Since 2020, the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control has designated at least 95 Hong Kong-incorporated entities for Iran-related sanctions violations, according to an appendix included in the report.''

 

Among the cases cited was Hong Kong-based Petronix Energy Trading Ltd., which US authorities accused in February 2025 of purchasing “hundreds of thousands of metric tons of Iranian crude oil” for shipment to China.

 

The report also alleges Hong Kong has become a major hub for funneling Western-made electronics and drone components into Iran’s weapons programs.

 

Investigators cited battlefield forensic evidence allegedly linking Hong Kong transshipment networks to components recovered from Iranian Shahed drones used in attacks in Ukraine and the Middle East.

 

“Taken together, these forensic findings establish that the connection between Hong Kong-based trading companies and Iranian weapons systems runs deep,” the report states.

 

The authors also accused Chinese telecom giant Huawei of using its Hong Kong-registered subsidiary Skycom Tech to help supply Iran with surveillance technology later used to “monitor, identify and detain protesters,” citing allegations previously made by the US Department of Justice.

 

''The report also points to HSBC’s long history of alleged Iran sanctions violations.''

 

It notes that the London-based bank — whose largest operations are in Hong Kong — entered a deferred prosecution agreement with the DOJ in 2012 and agreed to pay roughly $1.9 billion in penalties tied in part to Iran sanctions evasion.

 

According to the report, HSBC admitted facilitating the transfer of 32,000 ounces of gold bullion “for the ultimate benefit of a bank owned or controlled by the Government of Iran.”

 

“HSBC operates a robust program to prevent the bank being used to facilitate financial crime,” a rep for the bank told The Post in a statement.

 

“We are committed to complying with the laws and regulations in the jurisdictions where we operate.”

 

Hong Kong authorities pushed back on the allegations.

 

“The HKSAR Government has been enforcing the sanctions imposed by the United Nations Security Council fully and vigorously to fulfil our international obligations,” a government spokesperson told The Post.

 

The spokesperson added that Hong Kong does “not implement unilateral sanctions imposed by other countries” and said authorities maintain “an effective and robust mechanism” to inspect suspicious companies and vessels tied to sanctions evasion.

 

Still, the report blasts Hong Kong authorities for openly refusing to cooperate with Western sanctions enforcement.

 

“The case for more effective action is overwhelming,” the report concludes.

The Post has sought comment from Huawei. Reps for Petronix and Skycom Tech could not be reached for comment.

The right wing is enraged after a group of protesters swarmed a hotel in Oregon where Kash Patel was rumored to be staying.

 

A crowd of demonstrators circled the Sentinel in downtown Portland on Saturday night following unconfirmed rumors that the FBI director was staying at the luxury hotel.

 

It remains unclear whether Patel, 46, was at the establishment, where rooms typically range from $100 to $300 a night. The Daily Beast has reached out to the FBI for comment. Regardless, protesters descended on the posh hotel carrying signs reading “Kash Patel is a failure and a creep” and “Kash Patel protects pedophiles”—a nod to the director’s heavily criticized handling of the so-called Jeffrey Epstein files. Protesters could be heard banging pots and chanting, “We don’t want you in our city, oink oink piggy piggy.”

A large police presence was also visible at the demonstration. The Daily Beast has reached out to Portland law enforcement to confirm whether any arrests were made.

 

It is not clear what organization was behind the protest, but that was of little concern to MAGA influencers, who quickly decried it as the far-left organization ANTIFA.

 

“WTF?! Violent Antifa MOBILIZED outside a Portland hotel where they claimed FBI Director Kash Patel was staying — called him a ‘fascist’ and REPEATEDLY made threats,” MAGA influencer Eric Daugherty shared with his over a million X followers.

Oregon’s largest city has long been a hotbed for protests, most recently centered on an ICE facility and the presence of immigration enforcement agents in the city. But the social unrest apparently extends to Patel as well, who has no shortage of controversies.

Just last week, the FBI director reportedly opened a criminal leak investigation involving a reporter who published an embarrassing account of his alleged excessive drinking.

 

The story, which Patel countered with a $250 million defamation lawsuit, cited more than two dozen anonymous sources and described Patel as having a drinking problem so severe it could “threaten national security.”

 

This wouldn’t be the first time the embattled FBI director has been accused of using his powerful agency as a tool for revenge.

 

Last month, it was reported that Patel had directed agents to investigate a New York Times reporter after she revealed that he had used bureau personnel to provide his girlfriend, Alexis Wilkins, with government security and transportation.

What is moving is mostly the Earth, whose spin causes the Moon to slowly disappear behind Mount Teide, a volcano in the Canary Islands of Spain off the northwest coast of Africa. The people pictured are 16 kilometers away and many are facing the camera because they are watching the Sun rise behind the photographer. It is not a coincidence that a full moon sets just when the Sun rises because the Sun is always on the opposite side of the sky from a full moon. The featured video was made in 2018 during a full Milk Moon. The video is not time-lapse – this was really how fast the Moon was setting.

Daily Mail attributes its findings to sources within US and allied intelligence communities. These sources claim that Epstein was used in a classic “honeytrap” operation—a method where individuals are lured into intimate encounters with planted agents, with interactions secretly recorded for blackmail.

The materials obtained were allegedly funneled to Russian intelligence agencies. The report asserts that the operation involved Ghislaine Maxwell—currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking—who had ties to her father, Robert Maxwell, a businessman long suspected of cooperating with the KGB and Mossad in the 1970s.

A tranche of internal emails and communications unveiled by the US Department of Justice includes more than 1,000 references to Putin and nearly 10,000 mentioning Moscow, according to The Standard.

Former President Obama backs Virginia Democrats’ redistricting plan heading to voters April 21, marking another front in the nationwide gerrymandering battle before midterms.

The proposed map could flip four congressional seats blue if approved, but court challenges threaten to block implementation despite voter support.

Democrats frame the move as responding to Trump-era Republican redistricting, while opponents call it a partisan power grab by northern Virginia liberals.

 

Former President Obama is promoting a Democratic effort to redraw congressional lines in Virginia, the latest front in a nationwide redistricting battle ahead of this year’s midterm elections.

 

The announcement Thursday comes a day after the state Supreme Court allowed the redistricting question to go to voters for an April 21 election. Early voting begins Friday.

 

It’s the second time Obama has agreed to stump for a Democratic effort that asks voters to temporarily set aside an independent redistricting process in favor of partisan maps as a way to counter President Trump’s push for congressional gerrymandering in Republican-controlled states. California voters approved a similar measure last fall as a counterpoint to Republicans’ unusual mid-cycle redistricting that began in Texas.

 

In a video shared with the Associated Press ahead of its release, Obama asks Virginians to support the voter referendum on the redrawn maps. He said it will make sure “your voting power is not diminished by what Republicans are doing in other states.”

 

“This amendment gives you the power to level the playing field in the midterms this fall,” Obama says in the video, released by Virginians for Fair Elections. “And voters will have the final say over what the maps look like.”

 

In February, Virginia Democrats released a new congressional map aimed at giving their party four more seats. The Democratic-led legislature passed the proposed map, and Democratic Gov. Abigail Spanberger signed the document into law.

 

The map goes into effect only if it’s backed by voters and the state Supreme Court.

 

And, Obama goes on to point out, it’s a temporary construct, as was the measure put before California voters. After the next census in 2030, he notes, “Virginia will go back to a system that lets a bipartisan redistricting commission redraw the maps.”

Court challenges continue

 

The situation in Virginia has been evolving swiftly, and there are no guarantees the new map will take effect this year even if it’s approved by voters.

 

Wednesday’s ruling by the Virginia Supreme Court was the second time it has decided that the new map could go before voters while the justices review legal challenges to the effort. The court still has not ruled on whether the mid-decade redistricting plan and voter referendum are legal, indicating that the April vote could be all for nothing if it upholds a lower-court ruling blocking the effort.

 

Democratic lawmakers in Virginia have sought to portray their redistricting plan as a response to Trump’s push for Republican states to redraw their maps in an attempt to maintain a GOP majority in the House of Representatives. Republicans describe it as a way for liberals in northern Virginia to commandeer congressional districts in the rest of the state.

 

Virginia is currently represented in the U.S. House by six Democrats and five Republicans who ran in districts imposed by a court after a bipartisan legislative commission failed to agree on a map after the 2020 census.

Six people were found dead Sunday in a Union Pacific Railroad boxcar in Laredo, Texas, a city on the Mexican border, police there said.

 

A railroad employee found the bodies, police said, adding that, "This is an on going fluid investigation."

 

Union Pacific said in a statement that it was "saddened by this incident and is working closely with law enforcement to investigate."

 

The people weren't publicly identified and authorities didn't immediately give any more information about the probe.

 

Temperatures reached 97 degrees in Laredo on Sunday afternoon, which means it probably felt hotter than 100 degrees in the boxcar, according to CBS San Antonio affiliate KENS-TV.

 

Laredo is some 157 miles southwest of San Antonio.

  • The Venezuelan from Smartmatic created the software 100 percent that was installed in the DRE voting machines used in Cook County. Once the software was written, we moved it to Colorado to conduct some tests, then we returned to Venezuela. But there were problems in Cook County getting the balance right.

 

  • Roger Pinate - who was indicted on August 8, 2024, by the US District Court in the Southern District of Florida - ran the operation. He flew back to Chicago with some Venezuelan engineers and entered the United States on tourist visas to fix the software. Cook County was our first US election, and it was a success. The next election we ran was in Mexico.

 

Senator Barack Obama ended up winning the 2008 Illinois state Democratic primary with 64.66 percent of the vote to Hillary Clinton's 32.76 percent. Due in part to his huge margin of victory in Cook County - 68.9 percent versus 29.9 percent - he earned 104 delegates compared to 49 for Hillary Clinton."

If you didn’t like the election tallies, it was a simple matter of replacing the file with one that reflected the results you wanted on this FTP site.
