Israeli Soldier Heading Child Prostitution Ring Wanted by Interpol

Three Israelis were arrested over the weekend in Colombia, along with 15 others, on suspicion of involvement in sex trafficking in the tourist city of Cartagena that included the sexual exploitation of more than 250 women and girls, Israel’s Ynet news reported.

It’s reported that Colombian authorities also asked Interpol to arrest a former Israel soldier deported from Colombia for running a child pr…. Authorities claimed that even after his expulsion, 44-year-old Israeli citizen Assi Ben-Mosh continued to manage his illicit operations in Colombia from afar.

Mosh was deported to Israel after it was discovered that he was part of a group of ex-Israeli soldiers that had turned a small fishing village in Taganga into a “sex and drug den” from their base in a luxury resort, the Benjamin Hostel which was known to locals as “little Israel”.

From “little Israel” Moosh is reported to have run similar clubs exploiting drugs and children in Cartagena, Bogotá, Medellín, Ecuador, Mexico and Brazil. Local residents spoke of their relief following his arrest and deportation last November and thought they had seen the back of the former Israeli soldier.

Colombian authorities said that Moosh had harmed the security of the state and its citizens. Reports identified Moosh who was also accused of a number of other charges including tax fraud, drug offenses and inciting children to prostitution.

Weed-killing chemical linked to cancer found in some children's breakfast foods

A new report found glyphosate, a weed-killing chemical that some health authorities link to cancer, in a number of popular breakfast foods and cereals marketed to children. The study by the non-profit Environmental Working Group(EWG) discovered trace amounts of the most widely used herbicide in the country in oats, granolas and snack bars. Thirty-one out of 45 tested products had levels higher than what some scientists consider safe for children.

Recently, some scientists, doctors and activists around the world have worked to keep glyphosate out of crops due to concerns that it is a dangerous carcinogen.

"We're very concerned that consumers are eating more glyphosate than they know," said Scott Faber, vice president of government affairs at EWG. He has been working to improve food safety standards for more than a decade. He said he and his team at EWG had a lab test involving "45 samples of products made with conventionally grown oats" and found glyphosate – the active ingredient in the Monsanto weed-killer Roundup – in all but two.

"I was shocked," said Dr. Jennifer Lowry, who heads the Council on Environmental Health for the American Academy of Pediatrics.

"We don't know a lot about the effects of glyphosate on children," Lowry said. "And essentially we're just throwing it at them."

EWG used its own, more stringent standards to conclude that products with excessive levels of the herbicide included Quaker Old Fashioned Oats, Cheerios, Quaker Dinosaur Egg Instant Oats, Great Value Instant Oats, and Back to Nature Classic Granola. Arizona father beats, kills man who followed his daughter into bathroom stall, police say

An Arizona father decided to “take care of a situation” his own way when he killed a man who attempted to enter a bathroom stall his daughter was in, police said.

Melvin Harris III faces a second-degree murder charge in the beating death of Leon Leevon Armstrong, AZFamily.com reported on Tuesday. Harris was taken into custody earlier this month after the deadly encounter at a QuikTrip convenience store in Phoenix involving his 16-year-old daughter.

The 40-year-old was waiting in the parking lot to pick up his daughter and two friends when Armstrong approached him asking for money. Harris gave him some change and Armstrong went into the store.

Harris’ daughter came out of the store and told her father that a man tried to enter her bathroom stall by violently shaking the door, police said. She said she told the employees who alerted the security guard.

She then identified Armstrong as the alleged harasser when she spotted him walking out of the store.

Possibly thinking not enough was being done, Harris approached the security guard and told him to “take care of the situation, or he would do it himself.” The guard said the incident was being handled.

The protective father, however, confronted Armstrong about the incident and then attacked him, authorities said. Witnesses told police Harris repeatedly stomped, punched and kicked the man.

Harris fled the scene. Armstrong was taken to the hospital where he later died. He suffered brain swelling, a nasal fracture and loss of oxygen.

Harris was arrested at his home. He later admitted he struck Armstrong in the face, but claims he didn’t throw the first punch, the report stated. He also denied hitting Armstrong when he was on the ground.

Harris’ fiancee, Diana Jackson, told AZFamily.com that Harris was protecting his daughter.

"I'm not mad at him. I don't feel like he did anything wrong. I love him. He did what he was supposed to do for our kid. You cannot tell someone they're wrong for protecting their children," Jackson told the station. "I would have done the same thing. I don't feel bad at all for his actions. I feel bad that the man ended up dying in the process. I do.”

Jackson said it’s unfair her fiancé is being treated as a criminal for protecting his child.

Armstrong reportedly also had a criminal history that included shoplifting, trespassing and obstructing justice.

A Viral Instagram Hack Is Hijacking Accounts, Lockdown Your Data With These Steps

There is a rash of complaints on Twitter over a recent Instagram hack that has left numerous users unable to access their accounts. Preliminary data suggests that the shenanigans originate from Russia, though nothing has been confirmed. Instagram is investigation the issue, and in the meantime, it has some advice for users.

"If you received an email from us notifying you of a change in your email address, and you did not initiate this change— please click the link marked ‘revert this change’ in the email, and then change your password," Instagram advised in blog post.

Instagram also reiterated the importance of using a strong password, suggesting a combination of at least six numbers, letters, and punctuation marks. And of course it should be a unique password to Instagram, not a recycled one that is in use for other types of accounts across the web.

Affected users are finding themselves locked out of their accounts. In some cases, the culprit will change the Instagram account owner's profile picture, in several cases to an image from a Disney or Pixar movie. Less fortunate Instagram users found that their accounts have been deleted altogether.

It's not clear if this is the work of an individual, a group, or multiple individuals and groups. However, some of the hacked accounts had their email changed to one pointing to Russia's mail.ru email provider.

To protect yourself from this sort of thing, there are some additional precautions you can take. One of them is to enable two-factor authentication. At present, Instagram supports 2FA through text messaging, but is "working on additional two-factor functionality with more to share soon."

Users can revoke access to any suspicious third-party apps by heading into Settings Authorized Applications. Beyond that, it is pretty much a waiting game until Instagram figures out exactly what is going on.
