I know this because I was one of those students: low-income, first-generation, promising academically but lost when it came to getting to and through college. Still, somehow I made it.

I know there are others who share the experience.

Cutting a deal to testify is a tool of our legal system. It does not make a bad actor suddenly good, so even if this wild speculation that Comey has turned tail ended up being true: Comey has plainly committed crimes, you'd just now be able to add "rat" to the list of shitty character traits.

As a law-fag, I'm all for cutting deals to catch bigger fish where it makes sense. If Comey gave us HRC or someone at that level, it would be worth giving him reasonably favorable treatment, but it wouldn't mean he did not commit the crimes he seems to have obviously commited.
