To get a patent, you do NOT need to provide a working model.

You do NOT need to prove that it actually works.

You do NOT need to have a working implementation.

All you have to do is convince a patent examiner that it COULD work and that you have described it well enough that a person "skilled in the art", as they say, could build it from your patent.

Big companies often file many more patents than then ever intend to implement. If somebody else ever comes up with the technology or requires it in a future product, the big company with the big patent portfolio will attempt to license its patents and make money from it.

• A scalable means of integrating heterogeneous components across time and space granularities.

• Mechanisms that discover, gather, and incorporate new knowledge into the continuously running

synthetic environment.

• A single façade of user interfaces enabling information from all sources (simulation generated

data, parameters for models, and data gathered from the real world) to be searched, viewed and

modified in an ontology-aware manner.

• Integrated Development Environments (IDE)s for constructing and configuring new models or

modifying existing models and then incorporating these changes into the continuously running

synthetic world.

• A means to take excursions from any point in time in the synthetic world to focus on select

regions of the world, leverage private user data, or to research specific theories by simplifying the

Those are probably the three trails to follow on this.

But one obvious conclusion I draw from just doing a brief search on "google apple pharmaceutical companies" is that google and apple, by monitoring us and tricking us into giving them all kinds of data on us, are running lab experiments on the population in ways they could never do otherwise. And making tons of money off of doing so that they aren't sharing with the peasants. That's not even getting into what they're doing with the information that they're gathering. The whole population just assumes that all the information we're giving about ourselves is being used for our benefit, which no one would assume, not even stupid people, if they were actually thinking about it. Giving people medical information on yourself is the most intimate kind of information.

But even if everything they were doing with the information was above board, it's still kind of ugly to give people a free app and then harvest their data and make billions off of it, then sell them pills and make billions more–and not give them anything. I'm not against capitalism, but this is more like serfdom. Or slavery.

Back to slave gardens again. We're allowed to work to sustain ourselves while they trick us and make billions off of running tests on us that we don't know about and collect information on us.

Stanley Milgram’s remarkable obedience experiments have

been one of the most influential and controversial studies in

social psychology.1 They are highly original, theoretically significant

and closely related to the major political and socialhistorical

experiences and preoccupations of the 20th century.

The latter include the ideologically inspired mass murders, the

limited moral choices available to individuals in repressive

and regimented societies, as well as the venerable issues of

free will vs. social and situational determination. Despite their

importance and impact, there is room for a reconsideration of

these experiments and their relevance to understanding the

varieties and nature of political violence in the 20th and 21st

centuries.

Milgram’s findings were often linked to the influential and

similarly controversial ideas of Hannah Arendt, notably her

concept of the Bbanality of evil.^2 The obedience experiments

seemed to provide empirical support for her highly speculative

propositions inspired by the case of Adolf Eichman and

especially his trial.3 The famous psychologist, Gordon

Allport called these experiments Bthe Eichman experiment.^4

Milgram himself wrote that Bafter witnessing hundreds of

ordinary people submit to the authority in our experiments, I

must conclude that Arendt’s conception of the banality of evil

comes closer to the truth than one might dare imagine.^5

It is most unlikely that Milgram would have undertaken his

experiments if there had been no Holocaust. The latter - a

unique historical case of mass murder and incomplete genocide

inspired his study of obedience. He wrote: BThe Nazi

extermination of Jews is the most extreme instance of abhorrent

immoral acts carried out by thousands of people in the

name of obedience.^6 While communist systems (Soviet,

Chinese and other) killed far more people than the Nazis, the

Holocaust is the only instance of an ideologically motivated,

premeditated, dispassionate, highly organized and technologically

innovative effort to eliminate rapidly an entire ethnic

group of several million people - the Jews.7

Milgram was determined to find an explanation of this

historically unprecedented undertaking and located it in the

processes of obedience to authority that appeared to be a precondition

of mass murders requiring an elaborate division of

labor and the participation of large numbers of ordinary people.

Most puzzling for him and all those seeking to

My area has been having less chem trails this last couple of weeks. At least I am seeing blue skies without clouds. Been months and months not seeing that. It even snowed 1/4 inch on Valentine's Day which was weird. It doesn't snow here at this time.
