If you knew the plan, so would the President's enemies.

Define trust.

Here is a basic hypothesis about the internet:

A plan to control it by squeezing out humans and replacing them with AI has been getting rolled out for a number of years, perhaps it was in place from the start of the internet. The forum of these “jimmy” posts seems to have shown the pattern, in this anons experience. And although this anon has less direct experience of the chans, the same things seems to have happened there.

What was observed was a variety of factors that would tend to drive people away from the forum.

1. Endless “technical problems” that made the board glitchy. Very half-assed assurances of fixes never came to anything.

2. A popular voting system was abolished for no apparent reason.

3. Popular, good-natured posters were banned for no apparent reason, while certain “trolls” remained.

4. The anons experience getting contacted by a very “friendly poster” that “befriended him”, manipulated him to a certain extent, then flipped very dramatically around “pizzagate”– this turned out to be the first poster the anon discovered to be a bot. This same poster threatened another quality poster on that forum and drove him away.

5. An episode in which a “hacker” started posting in other people's accounts, then claimed to have exposed major security holes in the site. The holes were not fixed. It was if they were trying to make the site shitty.

There are equivalent things that have happened on 4chan.

Meanwhile, the driving out of humans and replacement by AI could be continuing in mostly stealthy ways. Surely only a limited group of humans would tend to dominate the posting on forums. So to control the internet, this group would have to be targeted and driven out. And yet that group probably didn't stay steady in any case. Posters naturally come and go, and spend less or more time on the internet. After all, it's “just the internet”. Now, if you are playing the long game, you can count on a certain degree of drift OUT of any given forum, so, if you focus on preventing any NEW humans from stepping up, you can ensure control passes to bots.

The anon's experience on the forum with “jimmy” is that all the humans were virtually gone. He was amazed. As described by “jimmy” the AI contacted posters, bought out their accounts (and now consider how the site had been shitty, and how easy it would be to choose to sell out), and replaced them with AI. When the anon first discovered one shill was a bot, he had no idea how many posters would later turn out to be as well. It seems like the replacement plan got quite far.

And here's the diabolical cleverness of it: as long as the replacement AI is minimally believable, NO ONE WOULD EVER KNOW what had happened. The passive, go with the flow humans would create no waves, the squeaky wheels, always a small minority, would be driven out, and the AI would be able to control internet narrative nearly 100%.

It is interesting to speculate what happened on 4chan in 2016. Apparently AI control was inadequate to stem the organic tide there. Praise Kek…

HYPOTHESIS

It is an important part of the SYMBOLIC nature of control for the system to push its crap memes, its crap posts, and all its crap [HERE]. The more of its crap that is circulating, WHICH WE HUMANS SIT PASSIVELY AND CONSUME, the more it is in control.

THEREFORE

Humans need to fight by POSTING. Genuine, human memes that have the right spirit would be the best thing. But absolutely every post that can push out a fake post is a small victory.

anon posted a doc on the expulsion of members of congress - it is interdasting so i made a summary for anons - this was written on 1/11/18 - why then and who requested it? maybe a good diganon can find out

the U.S. Constitution expressly grants each house of Congress the power to discipline its own Members for misconduct

there are 2 sides to this power - expulsion abd exclusion - the latter is the congress's right to refuse to seat a member. The former is its right to expel a member already seated.

congress may only exclude for the reasons stated in the consitution - age and residency requirements. congress may expel and requires a 2/3 majority to do so. what are grounds for this action?

The U.S. Supreme Court and lower federal courts have not decided a case directly bearing on the expulsion of a Member of Congress. the reason for this is that courts view this process as a "political matter" which should not be adjudicated. the few cases with statements elevant to the issue suggest a broad view of the expulsion power. that said, there are a number of arguments to limit or subject this power to judicial review so the outcome is not certain - particularly with justices that like to make social policy or hand out political power.

in this regard a disctinction is made between expulsion for condect before vs during the service on congress. if can be argued that if the conduct occurred prior and the voters put them in it would require a much stronger showing. of course that presumes public awareness of the misconduct at the time of election.

the over riding issue are the competing interests in preserving the integrity of a given house versus the interest in preserving the results of a democratic election - in other words who the fuck knows? and can any anon imagine 2/3 of either body agreeing to anything? not now - but hopefully soon.

The DC docket shows dozens of sealed criminal indictments. Are they from Mueller?

More than three dozen sealed criminal indictments have been added to the federal court docket in Washington, D.C. since the start of 2018. Sealed criminal court files are assigned a case number, but do not indicate the identity of the parties or the nature of the charges, so it is impossible for the public to discern what those sealed cases contain.

But several legal experts told ABC News the number of sealed cases awaiting action right now is unusual. Fourteen were added to the docket since late August alone, a review by ABC News has found, just as the midterm elections were drawing near and longstanding Justice Department policy precluded prosecutors from taking any public action that could appear to be aimed at influencing political outcomes.

And the inadvertent discovery on Thursday night of what appear to be secret charges pending against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has drawn fresh attention to the mystery. Legal experts told ABC News that the sealed cases could be tied to Special Counsel Robert Mueller's ongoing investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election and possibly part of a quiet effort to protect his investigation from any premature effort to shut it down. "I assume that Mueller knew that once the election was over, there could be an existential threat to his investigation," said Matthew Miller, a former senior Justice official under former Attorney General Eric Holder. "He knew the best thing to do was act before that." A spokesperson for the special counsel's office declined to comment on the investigation or the uptick in sealed indictments.

Sealed indictments are often used in cases where a defendant is overseas and U.S. prosecutors don't want to tip off their target before they have a chance to make an arrest. But they can also be used to pressure someone to flip on a more important target, according to Kendall Coffey, who served as U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of Florida in the mid-1990s, "especially if there was someone who presented the hope of providing proactive assistance - undertaking conversations, especially recorded conversations with other suspects in the investigation." Mueller has used a sealed indictment before. The case against unpaid Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos remained a secret for three months before charges of lying to investigators were eventually made public in October 2017. Only then, after Mueller's team secured a cooperation agreement, did the public learn the one-time foreign policy advisor would be the first from Trump's campaign to plead guilty in the probe.

Brett Kappel, a veteran political law expert said he calculated that 16 percent of all the criminal cases filed thus far in 2018 remained under seal, a number he considered "unusually high." And those were kept under seal much longer than usual, he said. "They normally only remain sealed until the person who has been indicted has been apprehended," he said. "The other major reason why a case is initially sealed is that publicly revealing the name of the accused would impede an ongoing investigation."

Coffey said he did not know if the stack of secret charging papers had any ties to Mueller. But if they did, he said, they would have enabled the special counsel's team to keep cases moving ahead of the midterms. "If indeed Mueller had prepared cases for prosecution but did not want the announcement to impact on pending elections then a sealed indictment might have been the preferred method," Coffey said.

And there was good reason, Miller said, for Mueller to lock in charges before the midterms. Mueller can only indict someone with the approval of the Attorney General, and once the indictments have been approved and filed, any effort to withdraw charges would involve a judge.

DARWIN, AUSTRALIA – Prime Minister Shinzo Abe made a historic visit to Darwin on Friday, some 75 years after Japanese planes bombed the northern Australian city, as the two countries cement ties in the face of an emergent China.

Trade and closer defense relations are the centerpieces of Abe’s two-day visit and meetings with Prime Minister Scott Morrison, before the pair travel to Papua New Guinea for a weekend to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit.

In a communique, they expressed hope that an agreement on enhanced defense cooperation which includes joint military exercises and something the two countries have been discussing for several years, will be concluded early next year.

“Prime Minister Morrison and I confirmed our commitment to further deepen this special strategic partnership between Japan and Australia,” Abe told reporters in Darwin via a translator.

“Our common vision is of a free and open Indo Pacific, in the area of security we agreed to deepen our security and defense cooperation.”

Abe said they discussed regional strategic issues including maritime security in Southeast Asia and the Pacific island nations, and the denuclearization of North Korea.

Amid increased Chinese military and economic activity in the region, Japan and Australia signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the United States earlier this week to increase investment in the southwest Pacific.

Abe is the first Japanese leader to visit the port city where more than 250 people were killed during multiple bombing raids in 1942-43 during World War II — the worst-ever foreign attacks on the country. Abe and Morrison paid their respects at a memorial to the war dead in an act reminiscent of the Japanese leader’s visit to Pearl Harbor in 2016.

“Prime Minister Abe’s visit is deeply symbolic and significant and it will build on our two countries’ strong and enduring friendship as well as our economic, security, community and historical ties,” Morrison said in a statement.

Veterans described the wreath-laying in a ceremony at the Darwin Cenotaph as moving.

“To see the Japanese prime minister here actually laying a wreath on our war memorial, it is a quite emotional thing. It is amazing that in 70 or so years we’ve come this far,” one veteran told the Australian Broadcasting Corp.

On Saturday, Abe will also remember Japanese casualties when he visits a cenotaph for navy personnel who died when the I-124 was sunk by HMAS Deloraine in January 1942 — the first Japanese submarine to be sunk by an Australian ship.

Abe was scheduled to attend a ceremony later Friday marking the opening of a $34 billion (¥3.8 trillion) pipeline project, in which Japan’s Inpex is the majority shareholder and operator.

The Ichthys LNG project — this nation’s largest overseas investment — began shipping natural gas to Japan last month and is set to reinforce Australia’s position as the country’s main energy supplier.

The operation taps fields off Australia’s northern coast and pipes the gas nearly 900 kilometers (550 miles) to a port near Darwin.
