Now that the Russia probe is finally over, former White House adviser Steve Bannon believes President Trump will “come off the chains” and “go full animal” on his political opponents.

“He will use it to bludgeon them,” Bannon told Yahoo News during a series of interviews this past weekend.

“When I saw no new indictments — I thought, ‘Oh my God! They didn’t indict anybody regarding the Flynn investigation, they didn’t indict Don, Jr.!’ Maybe [Mueller] could have details about obstruction of justice that are not indictable, but are meaningful,” Bannon said. “But right now, it looks like they have nothing.”

The president’s former chief strategist said he predicted a clean escape for Trump, and at one point, even suggested that he start treating the probe more seriously.

“I kept telling him, ‘Don’t say Mueller’s bad, I don’t think he’s going to have anything,’ ” Bannon remembered.

Yahoo interviewed Bannon in Rome on Friday, when the Russia probe results were handed over to Attorney General William Barr, and again on Sunday as they were being released. The 65-year-old reportedly boasted about how the findings left Democrats “in tears.”

“On ‘Rachel Maddow,’ she went 10 minutes into her show before the words ‘no indictment’ crossed her lips,” Bannon said. “On CNN, they’re in the mumble tank. They’re crestfallen. They thought this would be it.”

One Nation refers Al Jazeera to police over secret gun lobby recordings

 

One Nation has referred Qatari-owned media outlet Al Jazeera to the Australian Federal Police, after a years-long sting operation caught senior party figures seeking multimillion-dollar donations from the US gun lobby.

Boom! DOJ changes course: Entire ACA (Obamacare) should be struck down.

The U.S. Department of Justice on Monday took a broader stance against the Affordable Care Act, telling a federal appeals court the entire law can be discarded.

 

The agency called on the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to affirm a district court ruling invalidating the entire Obamacare law, saying it "is not urging that any portion of the district court's judgment be reversed."

 

The one-page letter came hours after 21 Democratic state attorneys general argued that Congress' zeroing out of the penalty did not make the individual mandate unconstitutional, as U.S. District Judge Reed O'Connor decided in mid-December.

 

At the heart of the case is whether the entire Affordable Care Act can stand without the individual mandate penalty, which the GOP-led Congress effectively eliminated in the 2017 tax law.

 

"With the amount of the tax set at zero, the remaining minimum coverage provision becomes simply precatory—precisely as the amending Congress intended," the brief stated. "It is no more constitutionally objectionable than the 'sense of the Congress' resolutions that Congress often adopts."

 

Even without a dollar amount attached to the individual mandate, the provision can still be read as part of Congress' taxing authority, the brief continued. This is significant since the U.S. Supreme Court's Chief Justice John Roberts upheld the ACA citing congressional power to tax in a 2012 landmark ruling.

 

The 5th Circuit has not yet scheduled arguments, although the federal government has proposed a hearing date for July 8 and the Democratic attorneys general agreed.

 

The U.S. Justice Department has 30 days to file its brief, and then the Democratic attorneys general will have another 21 days to respond. The case hasn't been expedited, according to the clerk's office.

 

So far O'Connor's decision has had little effect on the market, despite sending shock-waves in the political world. Before he released his ruling on the lawsuit, congressional Democrats won the U.S. House of Representatives in an election where the ACA's protections of coverage for pre-existing conditions nabbed headlines and drove healthcare messaging.

 

O'Connor certified the ruling as final in late December to pave the way for an appeal, as petitioned by the Democratic attorneys general. He also ruled the ACA should remain in place while the lawsuit led by the Texas attorney general winds through court.

Everyone thinks arrested in terms of the legal definition. Another definition per the Merriam dictionary is "to be stopped" with Merriams dictionary definition example being "Sickness arrested his activities.

 

With this definition in mind, the post would be read as

 

"Hillary Clinton activities will be stopped between 7:45 AM - 8:30 AM EST on Monday - the morning on Oct 30, 2017"

 

It also talks about "massive riots". Per Merriam Websters dictionary, a riot is a "disturbance of the peace" or a "massive display" of something. Wouldn't the massive "disturbance of the peace" by the Deep State be a "massive display" of their anger? Just a thought, a different angle.

Amster said his client didn't know where Dean “got the meth, and he came over to the apartment intoxicated.”

Amster blamed the L.A. drug problem on the West Hollywood City Council, which he said would rather focus on headlines than fix the issues of its community: “The meth problem is the issue in West Hollywood. … Drugs are out of control in West Hollywood.”

However, close friends of Dean in January said they knew him as a sober, spiritual soul who didn’t abuse drugs and wanted to stay “as far away as possible” from the California political operative.

Fox News reported last month that Dean had warned his friends to steer clear of the well-connected donor and referred to him as a “f—ing devil” and “a horrible, horrible man.”

Asian shares shaky(up now) as U.S. bond yields hit lowest since late 2017

 

TOKYO (Reuters) - Asian shares were shaky on Tuesday after U.S. Treasury yields sank to their lowest since late 2017, further below short-term interest rates and adding to fears of a U.S. recession.

MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was flat in early trade after two days of losses. Japan’s Nikkei rebounded 1.1 percent after a 3.0 percent fall on Monday.

 

Wall Street shares were little changed on Monday with the S&P 500 ending with a small loss of 0.08 percent.

 

Investors have been spooked by sharp falls in U.S. bond yields and an inversion of the U.S. Treasury yield curve, which is widely seen as an indicator of an economic recession.

 

The 10-year U.S. Treasury yield dropped to 2.405 percent, having shed 5 basis points on Monday.

 

It has fallen more than 20 basis points since the Fed last week ditched projections for raising rates this year and announced the end of its balance sheet reduction, citing signs of an economic slowdown.

 

The 10-year yield fell below the yield for three-month bills on Friday for the first time since 2007, inverting the yield curve.

 

San Francisco Fed researchers have said that the difference in those two maturities was the most useful for forecasting a recession.

 

“I think the market has overreacted to the yield curve inversion because the San Francisco Fed has said it is the most reliable indicator,” said Hiroshi Nakamura, senior manager of investment planning at Mitsui Life.*

 

“I expect some correction to the latest rally in bonds. For now we have to see this week’s auctions,” he said.

 

The Treasury Department will sell $113 billion in coupon-bearing supply this week, including $40 billion in two-year notes on Tuesday, $41 billion in five-year notes on Wednesday and $32 billion in seven-year notes on Thursday.

 

Investors will also be watching Fed policymakers scheduled to speak later on Tuesday.

The Department of Justice on Monday announced that it is siding with a district court ruling that found the Affordable Care Act unconstitutional.

 

The move is an escalation of the Trump administration's legal battle against the health care law.

 

The DOJ previously argued in court that the law's pre-existing condition protections should be struck down. Now, the administration argues the entire law should be invalidated.

 

U.S. District Court Judge Reed O'Connor ruled in December that the Affordable Care Act's individual mandate is unconstitutional, and that therefore the rest of law is invalid.

 

The DOJ said Monday that it agrees that decision should stand, as the case now works its way through the appeal process in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

 

"The Department of Justice has determined that the district court's judgement should be affirmed," the department said in a short letter to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

 

The move is certain to prompt new denunciations from Democrats, who had already seized on the Trump administration's earlier call for the pre-existing condition protections to be struck down.

 

 

That stance was a major issue in last year's midterm elections, and many Republican candidates in tough races struggled with whether to say they agreed with the Trump administration's position.

 

Many legal experts in both parties think that the lawsuit, which was brought by 20 GOP-led states, will not ultimately succeed. The lower court judge who ruled against the law in December is known as a staunch conservative.

 

The case centers on the argument that after Congress repealed the tax penalty in the law's mandate for everyone to have insurance in 2017, that the mandate can no longer be ruled to be constitutional under Congress's power to tax. The challengers then argue that all of ObamaCare should be invalidated because the mandate is unconstitutional.

 

Most legal experts say that legal precedent shows that even if the mandate is ruled unconstitutional, the rest of ObamaCare should remain unharmed, as that is what Congress voted to do in the 2017 tax law that repealed the mandate's penalty.
