Disinformation campaigns have been floating the idea that there is no problem at the border and that it is purely bigotry and racism. If they are reasonable people and are willing to entertain the idea that they have been led to overlook a very real and present danger to our civilization, then they will likely understand that many of these policies are necessary to contain the problem.

A debate on what our immigration policy should look like is doomed to failure when one side is talking about what needs to be done to stop a problem and the other is talking about what it should look like in a world of rainbows and gumdrops.

Most people are good. Most people are reasonable. It has been through controlling perception of our world that the distinction between liberal and conservative has been created. Largely. There are internal and cultural biases that influence this - but if you put most people in front of the same, undeniable reality, they behave in a very similar manner to each other.

4% is a fucking huge number on a population scale, but is dwarfed by the figure of 96%.

David Henry, who led a Los Angeles County–based organization that styled itself after police and freemasons—despite probably being neither—died aged 47 on Monday.

According to The Los Angeles Times, his death all but closes the investigation into whether teaming up with his friends and family members, dressing in his police costume—or even his "Illuminati Grandmaster Henry X" costume—and going around to local businesses claiming to be some kind of law enforcement officer, constituted a crime.

According to the Times report, Henry appeared in a courtroom on Monday morning in the city of San Fernando to see charges of impersonating a police officer and improper use of a government-issued ID card against his son-in-law Brandon Kiel, dropped. That was just hours before Henry died from a pulmonary embolism at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, his lawyer Gary Casselman told the Times.

One defendant, Henry's associate Tonette Hayes, who is in her late forties, still apparently faces charges on four counts of misdemeanor police impersonation. According to The Guardian, David Henry was being charged with impersonating a police officer, and perjury.

Henry's legal trouble began in May of last year when he, Hayes, and Kiel were all arrested for impersonating police officers as a result of their membership in Henry's group, known as the Masonic Fraternal Police Department. The story attracted even more attention with the revelation that Kiel worked for California Attorney General Kamala Harris at the time of his alleged impersonations. According to a YouTube video Henry posted in June of last year (above), the charges were an attempt to interfere with Harris' campaign.

The now-defunct website for the group (which is archived here) claimed at the time that the Knights Templar had founded the Masonic Fraternal Police Department in 1100 BC, and that their police force—which had jurisdiction not just in the US, but in Mexico—was "the oldest and most respected organization in the 'World.'"

The Masonic Fraternal Police Department first aroused the suspicion of established law enforcement in the LA area in 2014, according to the Times, when Henry and other members of his organization walked into an LA County Sheriff's office in Santa Clarita. They wore police uniforms, and told deputies that they were going to begin their own version of law enforcement operations in the area.

Casselman questioned the validity of the charges to the Times on Monday, saying that instead of charging the defendants, officers"could have told Mr. Henry and Ms. Hayes and Mr. Kiel, 'Listen, this is not a good idea. Someone might think you are impersonating a police officer.'"

A spokesperson for Kamala Harris told VICE last year that Kiel had been placed on administrative leave. The Times confirmed Monday that he is no longer employed by the state, and is now hoping to attend grad school.

Heading into the 2016 election, Clinton was well aware that her hacked emails posed a threat to her prospects of winning. Clinton Part 01 of 31. Thus, HRC, the Intelligence Agencies, Congress, Obama, and the media were well aware that her emails had been hacked. As a means of justifying the spying on presidential campaigns, the narrative was developed that intelligence agencies were monitoring a presidential campaign for its complicity in Russia’s hacking and release of Clinton’s emails.

Finally, once Clinton lost, the idea begot to blame it on Russian Collusion, a mere spinoff of Watergate. This would then explain the money allocated in the National Defense Act to financially support media personnel that would prop up the Russia Collusion narrative after the election, paving the way for the special counsel, obstruction of justice, and impeachment.

Man Convicted of Double Murder at Los Angeles Chinatown Social Club; Prosecutors Will Not Seek Death Penalty

LOS ANGELES — A 39-year-old Las Vegas man has been found guilty of the special circumstance murders of two men at a Chinatown social club in 2017.

A jury convicted Vinh Dao of two counts of first-degree murder yesterday after deliberating 1 1/2 hours, Deputy District Attorney Megan Loebl said. The jury also found true a special circumstance allegation of multiple murders; an allegation of using a deadly and dangerous weapon, a knife; and an allegation that Dao was convicted of voluntary manslaughter in 2002.

Sentencing is scheduled for May 22. Dao faces life in prison without the possibility of parole. Prosecutors did not seek the death penalty.

On Jan. 26, 2017, Dao entered the Hop Sing Tong Benevolent Association in Los Angeles where he disrupted a mahjong game. He began arguing with Kim Kong Yun, 64, before stabbing the man to death, according to court testimony.

The defendant then fatally stabbed Tony Young, 64, when he attempted to help the first victim.

Dao had been a member of the club several years earlier and was acquainted with some of those who were present at the time of the crime.

He was arrested the next day.

Sudan’s Bashir steps down and is under house arrest, sources say

Sudan’s President Omar al-Bashir has stepped down after 30 years in power and is under house arrest, multiple sources told ((([CNN]))).

His personal guard has been replaced and is under close watch, according to the sources.

Reports of Bashir’s ouster come amid a popular uprising against his rule that has seen thousands take to the streets across the country. The largely peaceful protests have escalated in recent days, as different armed government groups engaged in deadly clashes.

As news of Bashir’s removal spread, people flooded the streets in Khartoum in celebration, according to social media reports and witnesses on the ground.

Thousands marched towards Khartoum’s military headquarters, dancing, banging drums and chanting against the government. Cars honked their horns in support and women ululated in celebration.

“He is a coward and he has fallen!” people were heard chanting amid an extensive military presence on the streets of the capital. The country’s Rapid Security Forces, seen as close to Bashir, were widespread and did not engage with the crowds.

Military troops were seen celebrating with protesters, flashing victory signs. One soldier was seen patting a protester’s back and congratulating him.

But a group that has been leading the protests, the Sudanese Professionals Association, has called on people to press on with demonstrations, and to stage a sit-in outside military headquarters. In a statement provided to CNN, the umbrella organization of doctors, lawyers and journalists warned against exclusive military rule.

“What we do not accept is to reproduce the regime for itself, or that the army will be solo in power,” said the SPA. In its Declaration of Freedom and Change, the SPA lists the toppling of the regime and the handover of power to a transitional civilian national government among its list of demands.

In a separate public statement addressing protesters, Thursday, the SPA said they will protect the “revolution until all its goals are completely achieved.”

The Sudanese army will deliver a “statement shortly,” Sudan state TV announced on Thursday morning.

Bashir took control after a coup in 1989 and became President in 1993. He stands accused of conducting an campaign of ethnic cleansing in the country’s Darfur region, and was nearly arrested in 2015 while visiting South Africa.

The protesters started as a demonstration against the rising costs of living but escalated into a push for the Bashir’s removal from office, with mass rallies and sit-ins outside the presidential compound and army headquarters. In February, Bashir declared a year-long state of emergency in response to the protests.

This week’s sit-in had grown into one of the biggest rallies since the uprising began earlier this year, with crowds braving temperatures of more than 110 degrees Fahrenheit (43 degrees Celsius) to camp out in the streets of the capital.

On Tuesday, members of the Sudanese army moved in to protect protesters in Khartoum, after national security forces attempted to break up the third day of a mass sit-ins.

Earlier in the week, the mood among protesters outside the compound had verged on victorious, with people chanting “thawra” (revolution) and waving the national flag aloft as soldiers looked on, footage from the scene showed.

Photos captured protesters sitting atop military vehicles and handing out water bottles, as others posed for selfies with members of the armed forces, flashing V-for-victory gestures.

A CNN team visited the capital of Khartoum undercover last month, where they heard reports of possible war crimes by security forces attempting to quell the demonstrations.

The Central Committee of Sudan Doctors said 22 people, including five soldiers, were killed in mass protests since Saturday.

Sudan’s government has reported some 32 fatalities since the protests began earlier this year, including three security personnel, but doctors and opposition activists suggest the toll is 78, excluding the military.

More than 3,000 people have been arrested since protests began in December, based on testimony gathered by CNN from activists, lawyers and victims. Many have been taken to secret detention sites known as “ghost houses,” which the government says don’t exist, and where detainees say they face physical and psychological torture.

Sudan has sought to censor news coverage of protests, and journalists found reporting on the demonstrations risk life imprisonment and the death penalty.
