British Virgin Islands Announce US Dollar-Backed Digital Currency

Blockchain startup LifeLabs announced that it is developing a digital currency dubbed BVI~LIFE in partnership with the British Virgin Islands (BVI).

According to a press release on Dec. 3, the currency is part of a broader initiative to grow the local fintech sector and will be presented during the BVI Digital Economy symposium.

The coin will be a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar — which the BVI have used since 1959 — and its use is expected to reduce transactional fees, increase transaction speed and be accessible to outsiders such as tourists.

LifeLabs is also developing Rapid Cash Response, a fund meant to provide aid in case of a national emergency. The local government already announced this initiative in April. BVI Premier Andrew Fahie said:

“The importance of blockchain technology and the significant benefits it offers the BVI, are paramount to the Territory. We welcome this innovation with open arms. Our partner, LIFElabs, has demonstrated with their proven track record that their ideology is not just mere words, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with them on the rollout of BVI~LIFE, our digital currency.”

The Life token will serve as gas

LifeLabs community manager Anwar Ali claimed that the transaction fees of the BVI~LIFE stablecoin will be paid in the firm’s Life tokens. According to cryptocurrency data website Coin360, the Life token’s price increased by nearly 31% over the last 24 hours, reaching $0.000083.

While the BVI may be considering a dollar-pegged stablecoin, the Marshall Islands are developing a token in an effort to move away from the United States’ fiat currency. Earlier this year, officials announced that the Pacific island nation would develop a digital Sovereign that would be easily transmittable over the many islands that make up the country.

Breaking: Dozens of Baltimore Corrections Officers Indicted on Over 200 Charges

Over two dozens Baltimore corrections officers have been indicted Tuesday, according to CBS Baltimore.

The Baltimore City State Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday that 25 corrections officers have been indicted on over 200 charges of abuse of power and excessive force.

Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby said these officers “corrupted their obligation to public safety,”

“If you break the law and you break the trust the public has placed within you, you will face the consequences,” She added.

None of the officers identities have been provided at this time. We will provide more information as it becomes available.

Lisa Bloom, lawyer for victims of Jeffrey Epstein, claims an as-yet-unnamed woman 'vividly remembers' seeing the pair at Tramp nightclub in Mayfair in March 2001.

Miss Roberts has alleged that she was forced to have sex with Andrew that evening by her alleged sex trafficker Epstein, having danced with the prince inside the club.

In his 'disastrous' BBC interview with Emily Maitlis last month, Andrew claimed he 'was never in Tramp's' with Miss Roberts, now known as Virginia Guiffre.

He also added that it could not have happened on the date suggested as he spent the day with his daughter Princess Beatrice, taking her to Pizza Express in Woking.

Two guys dressed in black sweatshirts were seen video taping several of government buildings today, the shopping center parking lot, and they went into the town hall video taping and demanding to see payroll records of all town employees, claiming they owned the building. They went from office to office doing this inside town hall. Town employees were frightened by these guys. I know about it because two friends of mine work there, and a third friend saw them filming the post office and the shopping center. Vatican postpones beatification of Fulton Sheen after request by some US bishops

The beatification of Archbishop Fulton Sheen, beloved by generations of American Catholics, has been abruptly put on hold by the Vatican.

Judiciary: 300 in custody over suspected role in Tehran riots

The Iranian Judiciary says around 300 individuals currently remain in custody over their suspected involvement in the deadly riots that recently hit Tehran, and that their fate will soon be decided.

Gholam-Hossein Esmaili, the Judiciary’s spokesman, said Tuesday that those detainees who are found to have been among “saboteurs” will face imminent prosecution, while the rest will be released as soon as possible.

The Iranian government raised gasoline prices on November 15 in order to moderate the national consumption rate, which stands at 110 million liters per day, 40 million liters above the maximum daily domestic requirement.

The move prompted protests in a number of cities which were largely peaceful, but which turned violent when riotous elements took advantage of the circumstances to destroy public property and set banks and gas stations ablaze.

Authorities say some also used firearms and other weapons to kill and injure protesters. A number of people and security forces lost their lives during the violence. There is no official tally on the number of casualties yet.

The Judiciary said last month that a number of the rioters were tied to the notorious US-backed Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) terror group, royalists as well as separatists, who were nabbed in the country’s border provinces, besides members of organized groups trained towards staging acts of sabotage.

Purported death toll a fabrication

During his Tuesday’s remarks, Esmaili dismissed the unofficial casualty count provided by certain sources as inaccurate.

“The numbers and figures that are being provided by hostile groups are utter fabrication and the actual figures are fewer than what these sources claim,” he said.

“They have released figures as well as certain names… The purported casualty count is not but a fabrication,” he said, in remarks aired on state television, adding that sources with hostile intentions have provided the names of people who lost their lives in circumstances unrelated to the recent violence, and of people who are even alive.

The judiciary spokesman further hailed the Iranian people for participating in pro-establishment rallies in condemnation of the recent riots and “separating their ranks from rioters.”

British Virgin Islands Announce US Dollar-Backed Digital Currency

Blockchain startup LifeLabs announced that it is developing a digital currency dubbed BVI~LIFE in partnership with the British Virgin Islands (BVI). According to a press release on Dec. 3, the currency is part of a broader initiative to grow the local fintech sector and will be presented during the BVI Digital Economy symposium.

The coin will be a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar — which the BVI have used since 1959 — and its use is expected to reduce transactional fees, increase transaction speed and be accessible to outsiders such as tourists.

LifeLabs is also developing Rapid Cash Response, a fund meant to provide aid in case of a national emergency. The local government already announced this initiative in April. BVI Premier Andrew Fahie said:

“The importance of blockchain technology and the significant benefits it offers the BVI, are paramount to the Territory. We welcome this innovation with open arms. Our partner, LIFElabs, has demonstrated with their proven track record that their ideology is not just mere words, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with them on the rollout of BVI~LIFE, our digital currency.” LifeLabs community manager Anwar Ali claimed that the transaction fees of the BVI~LIFE stablecoin will be paid in the firm’s Life tokens. According to cryptocurrency data website Coin360, the Life token’s price increased by nearly 31% over the last 24 hours, reaching $0.000083.

While the BVI may be considering a dollar-pegged stablecoin, the Marshall Islands are developing a token in an effort to move away from the United States’ fiat currency. Earlier this year, officials announced that the Pacific island nation would develop a digital Sovereign that would be easily transmittable over the many islands that make up the country.

The House’s Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on Tuesday released the much-anticipated “Trump-Ukraine Impeachment Inquiry Report.”

The Democrats accused President Trump of abusing his power, obstruction and witness intimidation.

Schiff also obtained his own committee’s ranking member GOP Rep. Devin Nunes and Nunes’s aide Derek Harvey’s phone records as part of the “impeachment inquiry.”

“It is deeply concerning that at a time when the president of the United States was using the power of his office to dig up dirt on a political rival, that there may be evidence that there were members of Congress complicit in that activity,” Schiff said on Tuesday of Nunes’ communications with Ukrainian-American Lev Parnas and Rudy Giuliani.

The impeachment report also claims Trump abused the power of his office and obstructed justice.

“[T]he President placed his own personal and political interests above the national interests of the United States, sought to undermine the integrity of the U.S. presidential election process, and endangered U.S. national security,” the report concluded.

“No other President has flouted the Constitution and power of Congress to conduct oversight to this extent,” the report said.

“If left unanswered, President Trump’s ongoing effort to thwart Congress’ impeachment power risks doing grave harm to the institution of Congress, the balance of power between our branches of government, and the Constitutional order that the President and every Member of Congress have sworn to protect and defend.”

Much like the Mueller operation, Schiff’s impeachment hoax is one big opposition research/harassment campaign designed to interfere with an election.

Mueller and his team of angry Democrats interfered in the 2018 election and now the House Dems spearheaded by Schiff, Nadler and Pelosi are interfering in the 2020 election.
