RIO BRAVO, Texas โ€” Chaos erupted in a small Texas border town as Los Zetas smugglers launched a complex smuggling operation. Border Patrol agents responded to an illegal crossing that quickly tied up agency resources in the area, enabling smugglers to move higher-value cargo elsewhere.

โ€œThis is territory that is controlled by Los Zetas,โ€ Breitbart Border and Cartel Chronicles Projects Director Brandon Darby explained. โ€œThis is a neighborhood that is a heavy smuggling neighborhood for Los Zetas.โ€

 

โ€œWe saw Border Patrol looking for someone, and there are multiple things going on,โ€ Darby said describing the chaos that quickly erupted in the neighborhood. โ€œWhatโ€™s going on is they use one person to come in and run to distract the authorities while they are doing something else.โ€

 

During an April 2015 interview with Darby, Border Patrol Agent Hector Garza, speaking in his role as the then-president of the National Border Patrol Council Local 2455, confirmed that the areas directly across the river from Laredo and its surrounding communities are controlled by the Los Zetas Cartel.

 

As Darby described the unfolding scene, he said, โ€œWhatโ€™s happening is people in the U.S. connected to Los Zetas and the Los Zetas smuggling operation is occurring. Weโ€™re getting to see the CBP response. Weโ€™re getting to see Air and Marine. Weโ€™re getting to see Border Patrol agents in action. A Breitbart News videographer captured the moment when Border Patrol agents and a Homeland Security Investigations special agent took one of the runners into custody. The situation became tense while processing the captured illegal alien as what appeared to be a scout vehicle pulled up directly behind the Border Patrol vehicle to document the situation.

 

โ€œWeโ€™ve seen guys walk past on cell phones,โ€ Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow recounted. โ€œTheyโ€™re eyeing us. Theyโ€™re counting our cars. Theyโ€™re counting how many people are here.โ€

 

โ€œSome people are driving by and waving and acting nice,โ€ Marlow explained. โ€œOthers are driving by and making very aggressive gestures.โ€ He and Darby noted that many of the same vehicles drove by repeatedly. โ€œWeโ€™re seeing a lot of action on these streets, where we had been driving all morning and there had been very little action โ€ฆ almost no pedestrians, almost no automobile traffic. Darby explained that the cartel smugglers set up complex operations like this where they run a few people across the border to tie up and distract Border Patrol resources. He explained the decoys provide cover for โ€œa drug load or maybe theyโ€™re trying to cross a load of people who have given them money โ€” who have given them a significant amount of money or agreed to pay a significant amount of money.โ€

750 Billion Reasons Why Goldman Is Rooting For Greta Thunberg's Success

 

Having lost much of its central banker incubation skills over the past decade, and handing over the crown of Wall Street's most profitable trading desk to Morgan Stanley, in recent years Goldman Sachs has been best known for enabling and profiting wildly from Malaysia 1MDB criminal fraud, which culminated with the arrest of former Malaysia PM Razak, but not before Goldman made billions in illicit profits from selling bonds offered by the country's sovereign wealth fund.

 

And while Goldman is still waiting to learn its criminal and civil fate, and more importantly, how many billions it will have to pay Malaysia/the DOJ to put its 1MDB fraud in the rearview mirror, the company - which a decade ago was hoping to make billions from aggressively entering the carbon credit/offset market as profiled delightfully in Matt Taibbi's "The Great American Bubble Machine" - is already scheming how to profit from the latest round of anti-climate change euphoria, conveniently spawned by a 16-year-old child with Asperger's Syndrome.

 

On Monday, Goldman Sachs said it will provide $750 billion in financing, advisory services and investments for initiatives that fight climate change, as well as those that foster economic opportunities for under-served people over the next decade. What Goldman did not say is that it will pocket a generous commission, somewhere in the 3-5% ballpark, by peddling "green" products to naive investors (including central banks) who have fallen for the whole ESG virtue signalling charade.

 

The bank also updated its internal environmental policy framework to rule out providing financing to any new projects that will drill for oil in the Arctic or that create new thermal coal plants or new thermal coal mines. Of course, the destructive consequences of the bank's involvement in the 1MDB scandal would be quietly excluded from this virtuous charade.

 

Ironically, Goldman's policy changes come just as the United Nations concludes a conference that failed to ramp up efforts to combat global warming, according to Reuters.

 

Goldman CEO David Solomon announced the plans in an editorial in the Financial Times, where he wrote that there is "a powerful business and investing case" for the bank to take steps to address climate change and the growing worldwide opportunity gap. Very powerful: having failed to make almost any money from the bank's last foray into carbon tax and cap-and-trade, Goldman is now seeking to directly appeal to fellow fake virtue signalers, who in turn will hope to extract capital from naive investors pursuing the oh so noble goal of only investing in green, renewable, and "clean" (whatever that means) projects. Trump's DoJ Blocks Construction Of 'Private' Texas Border Wall

 

President Trump's Justice Department has shut down an effort to build three miles of private border wall just north of the Rio Grande after the US Attorney's Office for Texas's southern district warned that the project could impact the border river and potentially violate a treaty with Mexico.

 

Despite Trump's claims that his administration has nearly finished the wall, in reality, Trump has only built 90 miles of border wall. His supporters (who of course blame the Democrats for stymying President Trump at every turn, are now scrambling to finish it to try and cut down on crime and make the border more secure.

An effort to build a privately funded wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, as the Trump administrationโ€™s efforts progress slowly, is running into trouble over concerns that its design may alter the border itself.

 

Construction of the three-mile section in South Texas was halted last week after a U.S. attorney for Texasโ€™s southern district obtained a temporary restraining order Dec. 5 against its builder, Fisher Industries, a North Dakota-based contractor.

 

The attorneyโ€™s office argued that the wall is being built too close to the Rio Grande and could violate a treaty with Mexico by eroding soil and potentially altering the course of the waterway, which demarcates the U.S. border in Texas, when it floods.

 

One organization, called We Build The Wall, has raised roughly $25 million for the cause. The organization, founded by a military veteran and triple amputee Brian Kolfage.

 

A we've pointed out before, the notion that Trump's supporters could pitch in the pay for a large portion of the wall isn't so far-fetched he explained: If every person who voted for Trump were to pitch in $83, the government could use the money to build the entire wall.

 

Kolfage has become the face of the movement to build more of the private border wall.

 

Interestingly, the organization that spearheaded the movement for private citizens to build part of Trump's promised border wall has been removed from the lawsuit because it actually has little to do with the company building the wall.

 

Brian Kolfage, who founded We Build the Wall, said in an interview that his group didnโ€™t hire Fisher Industries, doesnโ€™t have any authority over the project and has paid only about 5% of its projected cost. He said his group didnโ€™t want to invest more because he knew โ€œit was going to be diceyโ€ with potential lawsuits.

 

However, Mr. Kolfage defended his groupโ€™s public association with Fisher Industriesโ€™s wall. "We created this movement," he said of the private-wall movement. "It doesnโ€™t matter how much money we put down, weโ€™re taking ownership."

 

Instead, a mysterious North Dakota-based contractor called Fisher Industries is spearheading the project, helped along by a $2 million "investment" from Kolfage.

 

Fisher undertook the project to try and demonstrate a different design for the border wall that the contractor claims would be cheaper and, according to the company, more secure.

Russia, China Submit UN Resolution to Lift Sanctions on North Korea

 

Russia and China have submitted a draft resolution to the UN Security Council to lift sanctions on North Korea and promptly resume the 'six-party' talks, according to the text of the document.

 

The resolution proposes to exempt the inter-Korean rail and road cooperation from UN sanctions and lift all measures previously imposed by the UN Security Council directly related to civilian livelihood, among others.

 

The draft resolution also โ€œcalls for prompt resumption of the six-party talks or re-launch of multilateral consultations in any other similar format, with the goal of facilitating a peaceful and comprehensive solution through dialogue, reducing tensions on the Korean Peninsula and beyond, and promoting peaceful co-existence and mutually beneficial regional cooperation in North-East Asia".

 

The draft also says that UN member states should terminate the measure that requests all North Korean citizens working overseas to return home by 22 December.

 

A diplomatic source said that a date to vote on the measure has not been set yet.

'Crucial' Tests at Sohae Satellite Site

 

US President Donald Trump told reporters Monday that his administration is closely watching North Korea amid reports that Pyongyang is resuming missile tests and would be disappointed if something was "in the works".

 

"We're watching it. We'll see. I'd be disappointed if something would be in the works. And if it is, we'll take care of it. But we'll see. We're watching it very closely. We're watching North Korea - we're watching many places, actually, very closely. A State Department official said Monday, cited by Reuters, the UN Security Council should not be considering "premature sanctions relief" for North Korea as it is "threatening to conduct an escalated provocation, refusing to meet to discuss denuclearization".

With the prospects of Barack Obama winning the White House pretty good, the Sun-Times Watchdog team took a look in the Tuesday paper about a potential Obama administration appointee, pal Eric Whitaker.

Dr. Eric Whitaker and Sen. Barack Obama go way back.

 

Their friendship began when they were graduate students at Harvard University. Now, Whitaker is one of Obama's closest advisers.

 

Whitaker, 43, of Chicago, often travels with the presidential hopeful on the campaign trail and has vacationed with him in Hawaii. There's talk Whitaker could be in line for a federal appointment if Obama becomes president.

 

Five years ago, Obama, then an Illinois state senator, gave a "glowing'' reference for Whitaker to Tony Rezko, the now-convicted political fixer who helped Gov. Blagojevich find people to run state agencies. Blagojevich hired Whitaker to be the state's public health

director.

 

Obama has said that's the only time he can recall talking to Rezko โ€“ who was a major campaign fund-raiser for him and for Blagojevich โ€“ about getting anyone a state job.

 

"Somebody who I do remember talking directly to Tony about was Dr. Eric Whitaker," Obama told the Sun-Times in March. "He and I played basketball together when he was getting his master's in public health at Harvard, while I was in law school there. He had

expressed an interest in that job. I did contact Tony, or Tony contacted me, and I gave him a glowing recommendation because I thought he was outstanding.''

 

Whitaker had been a rising star at Cook County's Stroger Hospital, known for a program he created that went to barbershops to educate black men on preventive care.

 

"I did not seek any position and was stunned when I was asked to interview for the IDPH director position," Whitaker, who declined an interview request, said in a written response to questions. "My first encounter with Tony Rezko was when he called and told me to come in for an interview approximately one week after I had already been interviewed'' by three other Blagojevich advisers.

 

As state health chief, Whitaker spent millions on programs that used churches to educate minorities about AIDS, breast cancer and preparing for public health emergencies, a program hailed nationwide.

 

Whitaker's agency also got caught up in scandal. He oversaw the budget of the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board, which approves medical construction projects. Rezko and his associates controlled that board, which they used to solicit kickbacks and payoffs, according to testimony at Rezko's trial.

 

Rezko was convicted. Whitaker, who said he wasn't involved in the board's day-to-day operations, was never accused of any wrongdoing.

 

"During my time as director of IDPH, I received four or five calls from Tony Rezko seeking my support for and attendance at the St. Jude's Children's Hospital charity event,'' Whitaker said. "After my employment interview, I never had a conversation with Mr. Rezko about the" health department or the planning board.

 

Whitaker left the state payroll a year ago and joined Obama's wife Michelle as a high-ranking executive at the University of Chicago Medical Center. When he was hired, U. of C. was seeking permission to expand its children's hospital โ€“ one of five expansions the university sought from the state while Whitaker was health director. All were approved by the planning board. Whitaker and the U. of C. said he had nothing to do with those approvals.

 

"Whether and to what extent Dr. Whitaker had anything to do with the [approval] process while at IDPH was and is totally irrelevant to his hiring by or his work at the Medical Center," wrote Susan S. Sher, a medical center attorney.

Pause at 3:51, these people have no idea how to react since they are so used to sending their thugs against good Americans but have never experienced it happening to them. This has been happening a lot lately and I am noticing a massive uptick in these things toward the left coming from everyday Americans so I know it cannot be some coordinated group as many of the people in my own area are just average people who seem fed up and getting very vocal about these things.

A Glendale, California town hall event hosted by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) became less than civil on Saturday, after hecklers accused the House Intelligence Committee chairman of "treason" and being a "liar," according to the Los Angeles Times.

Around a dozen Trump supporters attended the event to discuss the House's recent recognition of the Armenian Genocide. Scattered throughout the audience, the protesters began yelling "Liar!" at the de-facto ringleader of House Democrats' efforts to impeach President Trump.

 

After some aggressive shushing from Schiff supporters, the audience members yelling at Schiff removed their jackets, revealing pro-Trump shirts. One of them then said, "you should go to fuckin' jail โ€ฆ you will be going to jail, for treason."

The event was organized by the Armenian National Committee of America โ€” Western Region to thank the U.S. House of Representatives for recently passing a resolution affirming its recognition of the Armenian genocide and celebrating the U.S. Senateโ€™s passage of the resolution.

 

The measureโ€™s passage is considered a rebuke to Trump, who had sought its delay, and to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who had lobbied the White House to block the designation. The Turkish government disputes that a genocide took place.

 

Erdogan, in an Oval Office visit last month, warned of dire consequences for the Washington-Ankara relationship if the โ€œgenocideโ€ term were to be formalized. A forensic review of an iPhone recovered during a search of Oโ€™Connor Jr.โ€™s home revealed images of child pornography including approximately 137 images and approximately 26 videos of child pornography. Fifteen of those 26 videos depicted the same 11-year-old girl. Oโ€™Connor Jr.โ€™s collection of child pornography included girls between approximately five and 13 years of age. In addition, the cellphone contained multiple apps popular with minors, such as Kik Messenger. A review of Oโ€™Connor Jr.โ€™s Kik app revealed chats between him and an 11-year-old girl during which he coerced and persuaded the girl to record and send him sexually explicit videos of herself.
