Freedom Caucus Leader Andy Biggs: FISA Court ‘Needs to Be Eliminated’

 

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) recommended elimination of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA Court) during an interview on Thursday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight with host Rebecca Mansour and special guest host Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX).

 

Biggs described the FISA Court as contrary to American values of due process.

 

“It is a secret court that has virtually no oversight and no transparency,” said Biggs. “So if somebody wants to go in and get a warrant, basically nobody is really actively reviewing those warrants other than these FISA court judges, and I think that is star chamber-esque. That is really not the American way.”

 

Biggs reflected on Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report outlining “17 significant errors or omissions” in the FBI’s application to surveil Carter Page, which occurred during James Comey’s tenure as FBI director under then-President Barack Obama’s administration.

 

“What I see here is the corruption of the deep state that has been revealed in [Michael Horowitz’s] report and it is what we have seen all along,” stated Biggs, “Michael Horowitz] was limiting his scope to primarily to Carter Page, and you have 17 major problems with just that affidavit to get that warrant.”

 

FBI misconduct identified in the bureau’s operation against President Donald Trump may be pervasive across federal law enforcement and intelligence institutions, estimated Biggs.

The French President said he, like many young Ivoirians, comes from a generation that had “never known colonialism,” which allows for “turning the page” on the past and building “a new partnership of friendship with France.”

 

Macron’s visit to Africa comes as eight countries, all members of the Economic Community of West African States, are reforming the CFA franc to ensure a common currency for the whole 15-country bloc.

The CFA franc, also known as Franc of the Financial Community of Africa (originally called Franc of the French Colonies in Africa), is a post-WWII currency used in eight countries. It was tied first to the French franc and then the euro.

 

The new currency, called ECO, will spell the end of France’s colonial legacy – there will no longer be a French official in its decision-making bodies. But the currency will remain linked to the euro.

 

“Yes, it's the end of certain relics of the past… I do not want influence through guardianship, I do not want influence through intrusion. That's not the century that's being built today,” Macron commented.

 

Macron had made similar references to France’s past even before the start of his presidency. Back in 2017, he triggered a firestorm by calling the French conquest of Algeria “a crime against humanity.” France has to apologize to those who had fallen victim to these “truly barbarous” acts, he said at the time.

 

However, his subsequent endeavors in former French colonies were seemingly less progressive.

 

In July 2017, Macron sparked a social media stir after claiming Africa had “civilizational” problems, adding that even “billions of euros” would not help “countries still having seven to eight children per woman.”

 

Later, in November 2017, he even told students in Burkina Faso that “sometimes you talk to me like I’m still a colonial power.”

The remark didn’t sit well with Burkina Faso’s president, who left the room without letting Macron finish his speech.

The BBC’s reporter Paul Wood wrote an article at the BBC on January 12, 2017, discussing the pee-pee garbage in the dossier and made it sound like it was legit and the President of the US was under the thumb of Russian President Putin.

 

The significance of these allegations is that, if true, the president-elect of the United States would be vulnerable to blackmail by the Russians.

 

I understand the CIA believes it is credible that the Kremlin has such kompromat – or compromising material – on the next US commander in chief. At the same time a joint taskforce, which includes the CIA and the FBI, has been investigating allegations that the Russians may have sent money to Mr Trump’s organisation or his election campaign.

As a member of MI6, he had been posted to the UK’s embassy in Moscow and now runs a consultancy giving advice on doing business in Russia. He spoke to a number of his old contacts in the FSB, the successor to the KGB, paying some of them for information.

 

They told him that Mr Trump had been filmed with a group of prostitutes in the presidential suite of Moscow’s Ritz-Carlton hotel. I know this because the Washington political research company that commissioned his report showed it to me during the final week of the election campaign.

 

Wood was interviewed on January 12, 2017, a few days before President Trump’s inauguration. In this interview he spewed the Democrat’s bogus talking points regarding the bogus dossier like a good MSM soldier. In his interview he said:

 

…The President-elect of the United States is vulnerable to blackmail. Imagine if that’s true. There are already senior Republicans like John McCain talking about hearings. There are Democrats, not just wishful thinking on their part, talking about impeachment…

Judge Collyer’s December 17, 2019 Order, written after the publication of Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s long-awaited report on FISA abuse, emphasized the role the FBI plays when it makes its assessment on whether probable cause exists to a warrant. Say it aint so: Biden’s rules for a Senate trial being adopted by McConnell?

WASHINGTON: If there is one lesson history teaches us, it’s that Republicans can be relied upon to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. With the Democratically-controlled House voting to impeach President Trump, it falls to the Republican-controlled Senate to conduct the trial.

That is if Speaker Nancy Pelosi ever gets around to filing her chamber’s bogus articles of impeachment with the Senate.

For his part, GOP Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced he is willing to try the president under the same conditions that applied to President Bill Clinton back in 1999.

“All 100 senators agreed on a simple pre-trial resolution that set up a briefing, opening arguments, Senators’ questions, and a vote on a motion to dismiss. Senators reserved all other questions, such as witnesses, until the trial was underway… Put first things first, lay the bipartisan groundwork, and leave mid-trial questions to the middle of the trial.”

There’s just one problem with McConnell’s offer. It was Senate Democrats who set the conditions for Clinton’s trial.

In his book “Sellout: The Inside Story of President Clinton’s Impeachment,” the late David Schippers, then-House Judiciary Committee Chief Investigative Counsel, was less than kind to the Senate’s Republican leaders.

You see, then-Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, Republican from Mississippi, was less than happy that his House counterparts dropped an impeachment trial in his lap.

“You’re not going to dump this garbage on us,” he angerly told the GOP House managers (impeachment prosecutors). You know, we’ve been discussing this with Democrats, and everybody wants a fair hearing, but we don’t want to spend weeks on this. We can’t just shut down the Senate. We have important matters to address.”

In other words, trying Clinton for perjury, subornation of perjury, witness intimidation, and hiding evidence (all actions falling under the definition of obstruction of justice) were trivialities when compared to passing pork-laden legislation.

One Senate Republican negotiating with the House managers was Ted Stevens.

You may recall how Stevens broke down in tears when Congress rescinded his wasteful $398 million “bridge to nowhere” for his state Alaska. (The Bridge to Nowhere: A National Embarrassment)

After hearing a Senate trial could take several weeks to unfold, Stevens was furious.

“What do you mean, five weeks? You’re going to bring the Senate of the United States to a screeching halt for five weeks? While we are trying this, bombs are falling on Iraq.”

The overly dramatic Stevens was reminded the Senate didn’t have much in the way of business for two months.

When GOP Rep. Henry Hyde said he had ten to fifteen witnesses he wanted to testify, a Democratic Senator objected strenuously. But Hyde reminded him,

“Senator, your rules provide for a trial – for witnesses and evidence to be taken.”

The Democrat in question leaned back in his chair and said with great confidence,

“We make our own rules.”

No witness testified at trial.

That’s because in the end, Sen. Lott deferred to one particular Democratic senator to craft the rules for Clinton’s Senate trial. That Democrat was the Senator from Delaware, Joe Biden.

David Schippers’ description of the House/Senate negotiations above is spot on:

“When Lott talked about bipartisanship, we know he was waving the white flag.”

It does not bode well that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell promises to abide by impeachment trial rules cobbled together by Joe Biden and the Senate’s big-spending Republican eunuchs.

But to President Donald Trump’s credit, he is herding Capitol Hill’s skittish GOP cats into something of a cohesive, roaring lion. Perhaps he can goad the normally docile McConnell to turn a sham impeachment trial into a show-and-tell indictment of Democratic Party corruption.

A prospect that would no doubt send chills up the spines of the mainstream media, President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and the ne’er-do-well Hunter Biden.

You only get one shot. Try not to screw this up, Republicans.

Fred L. Waller, chief of the Chicago Police Department's patrol bureau, said ShotSpotter technology, gunshot detection software operating across the city, detected and recorded the shooting around 12:35 a.m.

 

Waller said the shooting was an "isolated incident." He said a dispute occurred inside a South Side home when shots rang out. As people fled the house, another shooter was picking people off from an outside location.

Waller said three separate types of shell casings were found in and around the home.

 

"From outside, definitely there was two different shooters," Waller said at a presser Sunday morning. "It looked like they were just shooting randomly at people as they exited the party."

 

He said two people are being questioned in connection with the shooting. One of the suspects was carrying a revolver when detained.

 

A 29-year-old woman who declined to give her name to the Chicago Tribune, said, "It's real f—ing sad. Your kids can't grow up, you can't do anything. This is what our life is going to be about [refering to inner-city chaos]."

 

Citywide, homicides have been trending lower for the past four years. A surge in the murder trend was seen in 2015/16 after inner-city riots in Ferguson and Baltimore sparked unrest in other large metro areas. So far this month, 22 homicides have been recorded, with 116 people shot. Of those shot, 15 died from their injuries.e epicenter of 2019 homicides has been based in Austin, Garfield Park, and Englewood communities. A shocking 80.5% of the shooting victims and or homicides this year have been of African Americans, 13.3% Hispanics, and 4.9% White.

 

Which perhaps goes a long way towards the reasoning why this 'mass shooting' fails to hit the mainstream media's headlines - simply put, it does not suit the narrative of 'white males' killing everyone with guns.

State Supreme Court Sets Massive Precedent, Cops Can No Longer Ask Random Questions

 

As a result of an Oregon Supreme Court ruling, Oregonians will no longer be forced or feel compelled to answer random questions from police officers in an attempt to get citizens to incriminate themselves by consenting to a search of their vehicle or persons, for example. In other words, the Oregon State Supreme Court ruled if they pull you over for a faulty license plate light bulb, the officers must then keep their questioning to the matter at hand, the fact one’s light bulb is out.

 

The case presented to the Oregon court was that of Mario Arreola-Botello who got charged by Beaverton police for possession of meth after getting pulled over for failing to use his turn signal while changing lanes. According to court documents:

 

Officer Faulkner of the Beaverton Police Department observed defendant’s vehicle change lanes and turn with- out signaling. Faulkner initiated his patrol car’s overhead lights, and defendant pulled over. Faulkner approached defendant’s vehicle and requested his driver’s license, reg- istration, and proof of insurance. Defendant was able to immediately produce his license but spent about three to four additional minutes searching for his registration and proof of insurance.

 

As TFTP has consistently reported, police officers are then trained to ask probing questions in an attempt to get motorists to allow them to search their vehicle. When an officer of the law is then allowed to search a vehicle, criminal charges can and most often do result — even when they are entirely innocent grandmas. Such was the case against Arreola-Botello. The documents revealed:

 

While defendant was searching, Faulkner asked him questions. Defendant, who primarily speaks Spanish, was having difficulty understanding the questions in English. At the beginning of the traffic stop, a passenger in the vehicle helped interpret Faulkner’s questions, but she left after Faulkner told her that she was free to do so. Faulkner asked defendant about the presence of weapons, drugs, or other illegal items in the vehicle and requested consent to search the vehicle.

 

Arreola-Botello did what many motorists do, he consented, and allowed Faulkner to go into his vehicle. That’s when the nightmare started for the defendant in the case against the State of Oregon

 

Defendant responded, “Sure, okay,” and consented to the search.1 During the search, Faulkner located a small package on the door between the driver’s seat and the door. Faulkner examined the package, found it to be consistent with drug packaging, and observed a substance in the package that he believed was methamphetamine. Faulkner placed defendant under arrest.
