The German police receive a call on Sunday morning from a suspicious local resident. A man with a bow and arrow has been spotted at a shed on the edge of the forest.

 

Four police officers go to report and find Yves Rausch, an apparently calm man dressed in army clothes. The police ask him to leave the shed, after which he refuses and unexpectedly pulls a gun.

 

Rausch manages to disarm the agents and quickly flees into the Black Forest. This is a densely wooded area in the southwest of Germany, located on the French border. It is a rough area, which makes the search for the man more difficult. According to Bild,the police are also searching the many caves and bunkers in the area.

 

To this day, there is no sign of Rausch. "It's likely to be a long search," police chief Reinhard Renter said at a news conference on Tuesday, Merkur said . "The forest is his living room."

 

Rausch has had no permanent residence or residence since last year. He lives in different places in the forest, which is more than 8.6 square kilometers in size.

Family and local residents call Rausch harmless

His aunt, who is afraid that he will not come out of the forest alive, agrees. "They make him a monster he's not," she told RTL .

 

Immaculate, however, Rausch's past is anything but. He was previously suspected of having a knife and a gun, among other things. In 2010, he was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for shooting his then girlfriend with a crossbow. Last year he rented a house of which he converted the attic into a shooting range.

 

Police do not expect political motives

 

Little is known about Rausch's motives for his flight from the police. In a possible manifesto entitled The Call of the Wilderness , which was left by the man in the shed, he states that "civilized man is opposed to the wild man." He complains that technology enslaved man

 

Bild had the manifest analyzed by an expert. He argues that the manifesto is not very problematic in content and that - unlike comparable manifestos - it contains no threats or a call to violence.

 

According to the police, Rausch has no political motives and no other people are involved in his disappearance. Meanwhile, the search continues unabated. "We have stamina," German police said at a news conference on Thursday, Badische Zeitungreports .

An individual who was killed in a fatal motorcycle crash in Florida was recently listed as a COVID-19 death for the Sunshine State, according to a state health official.

 

The truth about the death was brought to light after FOX 35 News asked Orange County Health Officer Dr. Raul Pino whether the two individuals in their 20s who were listed as coronavirus deaths had any underlying conditions.

 

β€œThe first one didn’t have any,” Pino said. β€œHe died in a motorcycle accident.”

 

Pino was then questioned on whether the data from the individual who passed away in the motorcycle crash had been removed from the system, to which Pino said, β€œI don’t think so. I have to double-check.”

It looks like Disney is circling in on the man to pull the strings on its live-action Pinocchio. Variety is reporting that Tom Hanks is eyeing the role of Geppetto in the studio’s latest remake of one of their animated classics.

 

For those who haven’t seen the 1940 cartoon in a few years, Pinocchio tells the story of a wooden marionette brought to life by a magical blue fairy. Geppetto is the Italian woodcarver who creates the puppet and wishes for him to become a real boy so he can have a son. Together with a small cricket named Jiminy acting as his conscious, Pinocchio sets out to prove worthy of being real.

Paddington director Paul King is already on board to helm the project and penned the most recent draft with Chris Weitz and Simon Farnaby. Weitz is also producing alongisde Andrew Miano.

 

Pinnochio is the latest in Disney’s successful line of live-action remakes. Next up Dumbo on March 29th, Aladdin on May 24th, and the star-studded The Lion King on July 19th. Logic would put the earliest Pinocchio release date in 2020, where it will share the year with Mulan. There’s also a live-action Lady and the Tramp coming to Disney’s forthcoming streaming service, Disney+, though a release date has yet to be set.

In a four-point, unsigned statement released via Tomorrow Group's WeChat account on Saturday, the conglomerate founded by the Chinese oligarch Xiao Jianhua pointed to several procedural questions that implied that financial regulators were so set on taking over the group's assets that they ignored the debt-restructuring efforts already under way.

 

Hours after appearing on WeChat, the statement was removed for "breach of rules," according to an automated notice on the social network app, and could not be found on Tomorrow Group's website, which showed its last update as July 2016. The authenticity of the statement could not be immediately verified. Phone calls and emails to Tomorrow Group's office in Beijing went unanswered.

 

Still, coming in the wake of the takeovers by China's financial regulators of several insurers, financial trusts and brokers linked to Xiao and the Tomorrow Group, the statement raised questions about the way by which the Chinese authorities are going about in taking down one of the country's most powerful oligarchs. A woman who sold her son to paedophiles on the dark net has been jailed for 12 years and six months by a court in southern Germany.

 

The Freiburg court also jailed her partner, the boy's stepfather, for 12 years. The boy was nine when the trial began in June.

 

The German nationals, 48 and 39 years old, had sexually abused the boy themselves for at least two years.

 

The dark net is an internet area beyond the reach of mainstream search engines.

 

On Monday, the court jailed a Spanish man for 10 years for sexually abusing the boy repeatedly.

 

Five other men have also been prosecuted in connection with the abuse.

 

The couple were found guilty of rape, aggravated sexual assault of children, forced prostitution and distribution of child pornography.

 

The boy is now living with foster parents.

 

The couple must now pay €42,500 (Β£38,000; $49,200) in damages to the boy and to a three-year-old girl, who was also abused by them

 

What happened to the boy, who is now aged 10, shocked even experienced investigators, reports the BBC's Jenny Hill in Berlin.

 

Prosecutors say the boy was subjected to more than 60 serious sex attacks, many of which were filmed.

A prominent Kevin Spacey accuser died by suicide on Christmas Day.

 

Ari Behn, 47, was married to Norwegian Princess Martha Louise between 2002 and 2017 and accused Spacey of groping him under a table at a Nobel Peace Prize event in 2007.

 

"It is with great sadness in our hearts that I on behalf of the very closest relatives of Ari Behn must announce that he took his own life today," Behn's manager Geir Hakonsund told Norway Today.

 

This marks the third Spacey accuser to die in 2019. In May, Linda Culkin, who accused Spacey, 60, of sexual harassment, was killed when she was struck by a vehicle in Massachusetts. In September, an anonymous massage therapist who accused Spacey of sexual assault died in the middle of a lawsuit against the actor.

 

Behn's death comes one day after Spacey released a video on YouTube titled "KTWK (Kill Them With Kindness)." Stoking a roaring fireplace adorned with Christmas stockings, Spacey can be seen looking into the camera and saying, "I know what you're thinking. Can he be serious? I'm dead serious."

 

"The next time someone does something you don't like, you can go on the attack, but you can also hold your fire and do the unexpected," said the Oscar winner as music played in the background. "You can kill them with kindness."

 

It marked the second video the American Beauty actor has released around the Christmas holiday. In 2018, Spacey published a video titled "Let Me Be Frank," in which he mimicked his character Frank Underwood from the House of Cards TV series.

 

A statement released by the Royal House of Norway said Behn "was an important part of our family for many years, and we carry warm and good memories of him with us."

Everyone knows about the infamous Salem witch trials, but few people realize that Connecticut has an older and arguably more colorful history when it comes to accusations ofβ€”and executions forβ€”witchcraft.

 

Actually, by 1692, when hysteria was just starting to sweep through Salem, nine (or eleven, reports aren’t exactly clear) unfortunate souls had already been executed for witchcraft in Connecticut, including Alse (or Alice) Young, who was the first woman hanged in New Englandβ€”and possibly the New Worldβ€”for purportedly having consorted with Satan. Before it was over, 35 people would stand accused of crimes involving witchcraft.

 

As hard as it is to conceive now, the idea of The Devil walking the Earth and taking an active role in everyday life was a genuine fear in Colonial Connecticutβ€”it’s not a coincidence that there are over 30 places in the state with names that served as a warning to all that The Evil One might be lurking about, including Devil’s Den (five different places), Devil’s Backbone (four), Satan’s Kingdom (two), Devil’s Island, Hell’s Hollow, Tophet Ravine and even a Devil’s Dripping Pan. The early European settlers here were true believers.

 

The best-researched record of events is John M. Taylor’s The Witchcraft Delusion in Colonial Connecticut (1647-1697), in which he chronicles the known events as well as delves into the causes for the hysteria, including tracing the entire history of witchcraft.

 

During those times, what is now Connecticut was then divided into two colonies: Connecticut and New Haven.
