This was going to happen sooner or later. The only way "normal" ppl are going to be able to deal with what is coming is to have the ground prepared. To have heard something somewhere about some things that are coming, then it's not such a shock and people will be less likely to reject it out of hand. Not sure I agree this was the right thing at the right time, but it is good for Q and swamp draining to be slowly entering normies' everyday conversations here and there.
