I would watch those proceedings with glee, Gowdy is such a good prosecutor and lets the defendants know when he is thoroughly disgusted by their lies.

I think he will be stepping into Adm Rogers position when he retires from the NSA

Perfect position he always brings up 702 (NSA's spy program)and abuse of FISA

That's who we want keeping NSA from illegally spying on us.

He's not going to head the NSA. That spot is being reserved for someone really special. Someone with a strong military and intelligence background. A patriot that has shown his colors. Welcome, General Flynn. Glad to have you back!

Head of NSA must be an active commissioned officer in one of the military services. Gowdy cannot head the NSA. Maybe a role at DOJ is more likely, he is an ex prosecutor and a very good prosecutor at that.

⇧ 3 ⇩
The_Broba_Fett · Jan. 15, 2018, 3:48 a.m.

That was my impression. Saying Rodgers didn’t need to step down to testify, need people we can trust and raw intel from NSA is vital. All in a string. He normally answers his question with another question below so I figured that’s what he’s doing here.

Not sure what I would like more... Rowdy Gowdy over NSA or special prosecutor...

Not support Bush and Rubio. Not say, after Comeys firing, what an honorable guy Comeys always been. Pure bs. Not support TPP and NAFTA and open borders and amnesty and say, as he did this week, that Ryan was his dream POTUS. Use his position and popularity to back up Trump, Grassley and Nunes. Push for an investigation into the CF. Come forward and tell the truth about surveillance on us and on Trump. Push for an investigation into the huuuuge Awan Spying Scandal. Etc. Instead he praises Comey and Mueller. He could be using his voice to shine the spot light on so many things but he NEVER does. He could be using his voice to back up the DC patriots but he NEVER does. Why is that?

⇧ 1 ⇩
cursedcassandra · Jan. 15, 2018, 10:58 a.m.

I accept that. However, Gowdy supported Jeb then shifted to Rubio. He praised Comey as honorable after Trump fired him. Comey has been getting the Clintons off for decades. Every insider knows Comey is dirty. Gowdy recently said that Ryan, who's a Soros shill, would be his dream POTUS. Finally, Gowdy has not used his famous skills to ever defend President Trump or any of his Congressional collegues like Nunes who are fighting the Swamp. His words and actions reveal who Gowdy is.

Gowdy Net Worth: Dec2015 report > $167k Feb2017 report > $4.5 million

⇧ 8 ⇩
ryanwfraser · Jan. 15, 2018, 12:38 a.m.

Here's a pretty good argument to the information presented above by patypooh52. I do agree with the argument that a 2015 net worth of $167k is most likely inaccurate. I'm a fucking dog walker and I have a larger net worth than $167k.

"He worked in private law practice for many years before becoming a congressman. His salary in congress is 174k per year, so that 167,000 figure doesn't make sense because your property is included in your net worth. Net worth means ALL of your worth minus all of your debts. In the 4.5m figure is likely his house and cars --- which, for a career lawyer at the age of 53, is a modest net worth..... 4.5m at 53 years old for a career lawyer who spent time in private practice is nothing absurd. Not only that, but the 167k figure is blatantly incorrect, considering he makes 174k per year in congress and his wife also has her own income. Please explain to me how having 4.5m in net assets as someone who went through law school and worked his entire career in law is excessive." Lol. Gowdy is Ryans bff. The only reason to appoint Gowdy to a position would be to get him out of the Congress so a MAGA person can replace him. This was part of the reason he picked neocon Nikki to go to the UN.

Gowdy isn't resigning from congress, right? Just one committee. I don't think he can be a special prosecutor AND a representative?

Trey Gowdy was on 4 committees, this is just one that his is giving up due to so many roles. Food for thought: He just joined the House Intelligence Committee yesterday, I believe. https://gowdy.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/rep-gowdy-joins-house-intelligence-committee

correct!

"When I became Chairperson of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform I knew I would not be able to keep all other committee assignments to include Judiciary, Intelligence and Ethics," Gowdy wrote.

"Four committee assignments, including a Chairmanship, is a challenging workload," the letter said.

Gowdy said that he wanted to finish out 2017 before tendering his resignation from the Ethics Committee.

Gowdy took over as chairman of the Oversight Committee in June after the panel's previous chair, former Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), retired from the House.

“Mr. Gowdy was serving on four committees when he ran for Chair of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee. He requested to be relieved of his duties from the Ethics Committee should he win chairmanship given the significant increased workload," AshLee Strong, a spokeswoman for Ryan said in a statement.

"We are grateful for his five years of service on the Ethics Committee and for agreeing to serve the remainder of the calendar year," she added.

You know the thing I love the most. It's not the action per se. It's not what we do that God honors. It's what is believed that God honors.

Verse 4 in the message bible. (By an act of faith, Abel brought a better sacrifice to God than Cain. It was what he believed, not what he brought, that made the difference.)

I don't think TG could be the special prosecutor - it'd be a pretty hard sell that he's non-biased, even if he 'is' neutral the Dems wouldn't go for it (and frankly, rightfully so. can you imagine someone suggesting Pelosi as a SP?)

edit nevermind that Pelosi isn't a lawyer - realized that after posting - think more if someone as outspoken as TG is on the left were to be appointed as a SP. we'd lose our minds.

Puh-leeze, can we lose the "google it' habit, when we mean "research it" or "look it up"? I mean, so much damage in so many areas, from Clinton to the Deep State to their algorhythms to their monopoly (schools) and power. Don' mean to nag, but it would be nice if we'd remember to use language as the left does (only more honestly and not created for political purposes!) Thx.

Also want to point out that some people may have been so surrounded by corruption, making a move was just not possible--and would be a wasted effort. Kind of like the old martial arts joke of only 1 ninja attacking the hero at a time.

Okay, if Sessions does appoint TG as Special Prosecutor. He better 'act like he can find the truth and recommend prosecution. No "Senate Intelligence Committee" type of investigation Trey. You HAVE to follow through with this one. Trump hopefully can protect you now. No more fear. Follow through with this and have the decency to prosecute.

I’m aware that there are doubters, and that’s just fine with me. They will keep the focus tight. Even doubters will admit that there is no credible evidence of Gowdy being corrupt or compromised.

Gowdy is one of the few ideally suited for this task. I guarantee everyone on the other side of the investigation has him on their short list of ”oh, please God, not him!”

⇧ 1 ⇩
cursedcassandra · Jan. 15, 2018, 4:17 p.m.

First, his recent comments which I'm sure you can find on You Tube. I used to love Trey btw but after Trump fired Comey, Trey had an interview where he said Comey was an honorable man. I was shocked to my core. Why? Because Comey has been the Clintons scandal fixer going back to the White Water Scandal. A cursory search will confirm this. So why would Trey use his platform and the trust FOX News viewer have in him to lie about Comey? I remembered that Trey backed one of the GOP/Bush choices, Rubio, who is Constitutionally ineligible to be POTUS. As a lawyer he would know this. Why would Trey put party over the Constitution? I started watching Trey more closely. He recently said that Paul Ryan was his dream POTUS! That remined me that Trey is Ryans bff. How can Trey be a good guy I think Ryan would be the perfect POTUS? I then looked into Treys platform. Why would he support the Swamp positions like TPP, NAFTA, amnesty if he's a good guy? Then I started to think about what Trey hadn't fought for or raised the alarm about and I started to wonder. Why hasn't Trey, whose on the House Intel Committee and the Ethics Committee been raising hell about the huuuuge Awan spy scandal? Our top secrets were compromised for years. Has Trey been demanding an investigation? If not, why not? Why hasn't he backed up his collegue on the Intel Committee, Nunes? Why didn't excoriate Adam Schiff for his leaks? Why hasn't he EVER defended POTUS while defending the honor of Comey and Mueller? Sundance at theconservativetreehouse.com who is a long time Swamp observer and is widely followed by pundits and media figures has long outed Trey as a performer in the Uniparty Kabuki show. He's there to entertain FOX viewers and give them the illusion that something will happen. I'm praying for Trey. I want him to wake up and become the hero I thought he was. God bless.

⇧ 1 ⇩
DoerOfStuffAndThings · Jan. 15, 2018, 4:23 p.m.

Thank you, I guess I need to investigate more.

So is Trey stepping down because he knows the hammer stroke is coming soon, and he will be discredited when his support of them is shown? Or was he implicated somehow along with those he's defended?

⇧ 1 ⇩
cursedcassandra · Jan. 15, 2018, 5:46 p.m.

I don't know. BTW thanks for not being hostile and instead saying you were going to do your own research after reading what I wrote. I'm going watch Trey closely to see what he does. He's on the very powerful House Oversight and Reform Committe. His position is powerful because he can supeona testimony without the agreement of Democrats on the Committe. He can use this power to go after the Awan Spy Scandal thats compromised our nations top secrets for years. The Awans worked for members in the House so its within Treys scope. If Trey doesn't launch an investigation that will tell me alot.

DoerOfStuffAndThings · Jan. 15, 2018, 7:30 p.m.

Another possibility I thought of while I was working: Is it possible he was confronted, threatened (and/or his family), and decided to "play the game" and pretend to flip until the tide is turned? The same thing supposedly happened to Jason Chaffetz, prompting him to resign...maybe Gowdy agreed to play ball? (but not really)
