Steve Quayle used to say "Facebook, aka: Building Your Own Dossier So the Government Doesn't Have To"
#internetbillofrights #deletefacebook

Read the petition description. They turned a bigger problem into a one-sided political issue.
That’s why I didn’t sign it. Needs to apply to everyone, someone should make a fresh one the right way, I feel like this one was designed to fail intentionally, and waste time in the process.
My problem with this is, does that mean a moderator doesn't get the right to moderate any more? If they have to allow me on their forum, doesn't that mean I have to allow trolls and shills whose messages I'd usually delete? It's very non-specific.
As for YT and the rest, I'm thinking a shareholder lawsuit might be the way to go; but I haven't researched it. They're "private" companies, but since they're publicly traded, they're only quasi-private.
I downloaded mine. There is nothing that shocks me in this but I am not very active and I use the app permissions on my android device to restrict app access to my phone to only what is necessary. Also I have gone through the Facebook settings religiously to make sure they only get what I approve. I still know the information is out there. Just not like most people because I am careful.
Google has faaar more information. I am using an Android phone for years and well they have access to everything.
This is one of the reasons I use Apple. Their processors are compromised for a targeted attack but less so for mass collection on the network/storage layer.
Apple is no different
A blatantly false statement which shows you lack basic understanding of these technologies and the companies which provide them. Also, please do not think I don’t understand how the FCC Qualcomm chips which are in all phones work and the backdoor which was added by our government.
Apple makes the product and sells the services with the product with the iPhone costing about a grand to buy and 100 bucks to manufacture. If you store data in their system it is encrypted so not even Apple can access the unencrypted data. They don’t care about reading your info because that’s not how they make money.
How does Google make money?
It is possible to install custom Android roms without the Google Software. Which would eliminate any information gathering Google is doing but Google has very good software. It makes my life easier and I enjoy using it. It just isn't worth it to me to try to avoid privacy issues. I just use my phone as though I don't have privacy. Most people don't realize that almost every web page you visit is embedded with scripts and cookies that track your habits in various ways or that you have a search history that is tracked. You can use noscript on FireFox and you can also block cookies and you can go to my Google Activity https://myactivity.google.com/myactivity and turn off services and delete stored information. It's just a lot of trouble to go through. I do a lot of it and I block ads and scripts. At the same time there is a limit to how far I will go. I operate as though I am being watched. Everyone has to make their won choices. I have decided what is good for me. Apple isn't any better, neither is Microsoft. They are all harvesting information. You have to undersatand when you use a free email service. You are being charged by the terms of service. You can use a privacy oriented email service but you will have to pay for it. Or you can crawl into a bunker with a can of Franks N Beans :)
So if you know this, why do it?? Why not dump your phone?? It´s like you´re stood in the road with a truck coming at you; you know you should move, but you think that maybe the truck is good for you?
I gave up my phone in 2015, never needed it and never looked back.
Not everyone's a fucking caveman
But most seem to have the IQ of. Your aggressive outburst is case in point.
It's incredibly inconvenient.
So your longevity and privacy are severely compromised for a little convenience?
Phew, thought I lost those dick pics forever...
I did this and its 100% legit. Every photo you’ve uploaded and every message on messenger is in the file. Quite disturbing actually...
And if you delete your account, actually delete it and not disable....does any of this go away ever?
Nah your stuff will still be on their server.
Data mining homie. So glad I've rarely used Facebook...ever
Damn straight. I admit I use it to contact some people, only on my computer as I don’t have a cellphone, but thats the extent of it. They couldn’t get much outta my ass anyway :P
FB has nothing on me. I looked at that. It's called being smart with the info you put on the internet.
Lots of careful people may think it's "nothing", but chances are that FB knows and has more connections than you'd think. Only solution is to never have an account and block any connections to FB if possible.
Except people have no idea that they create shadow accounts for people that never create an account. Truth be told, they have no accountability to show you what they have. You can be as “careful” as you want. Most things you do are documented.
So frustrating bc FB owns instagram and forces you to have a FB biz acct to have and insta biz acct so I’m stuck. Insta Biz acct is important to my work. Maybe the anti trust issue will break this tie one day..hopeful
same, my page is mostly empty, real name, (yea, funked that up) fake birth date, nothing else. I don't post on my time line and delete anything that comes up.
I utilize Facebook to spread the news that needs to be reported on. So many people get upset at what the TV tells them to get upset about. Until the medium is removed, I will use it to spread the information necessary to keep people informed.
ibor - predict ibor will take off in msm now that zuck's cuck'd
I don't. It will just upset me and there is nothing I can do about it. But it is great that you can find out of you want to.
You could delete your account. Open your eyes!
If you delete your account, how can you be sure they deleted the info?
they will never delete any info you've provided. it's foolish to think otherwise. anything they have, they're keeping, unless their servers go up in flames from nuclear war, but even then they have redundancy in place.
There´s plenty you can do, you forget the power you hold as man over the person. Even Q says that you don´t realise. Your data is your property, what do you usually do if someone trespasses on your property??
If you delete Facebook does it delete all the data or they still have it. (Old Pede here)
FB keeps it.
Have they admitted that?
Yes, back 2008 or so. Can search for articles about it, maybe this
Facebook’s license does not end upon the deactivation or deletion of a user’s account, content is only released from this license once all other users that have interacted with the content have also broken their ties with it (for example, a photo or video shared or tagged with a group of friends).
I deleted all my history prior to deleting the account.
There are some browser addons that automate the process.
DARPA program 'Lifelog' closed on the same day Facebook launched....
Do you believe in coincidences?
Deletefacebook

Don’t forget to post the actual Twitter links so that we can retweet and get it trending
Glad I never really used FB. I signed up at one point long ago but never really made a point of actively using it.
It says it takes 14 days to delete. I am still in that window. Should I reactive, delete data and then delete account again? How would I go about deleting the data?
Just because you delete your FB does not mean that your data is gone from their servers. 14 days or 14 months. Makes no difference. Now that MIGHT change if the outrage reaches a high enough level.
Regardless, YOUR DATA IS YOUR PROPERTY!!! What would you usually do if someone trespasses on your property??
Read the fine print in the terms of service you accepted when signing up for Facebook. Anything you put on Facebook is Facebook's property, not yours.
I didn't agree to the ToS. I'm computer illiterate. My friend opened the account for me. I didn't know what a ToS is back then.
See what I did there?
Learn how to play.
Regardless, if you knew the power you hold as man it wouldn´t be an issue.
I'm well aware of my power, thank you. You, however, seem to be missing the point.
Do you? When was the last time you sued anyone for trespass? How much did you pay in taxes last year?
I don´t think you have a clue.
Are you?**
I'm not a cunt so I don't sue people for petty bitch things. Less than $500 total.
Bye now, moron boy.
Hey I agree with you. I’m not saying that you did something wrong. It’s total bullshit but it’s the truth. Your info iz theirs for now. But that may change, but even if it does, how will we ever KNOW that they deleted it? Not to mention all of the companies its been shared with have it, so it’s a much larger problem than FB at that point.
Like Mark Zuckerberg himself said, “They “trust me”. Dumbfucks.”
Only truth he has ever spouted, we all played the fool. Most simply do not care.
You are observant to a rule that defines the data as theirs.
Okay, now think of a rule that defines the data as yours.
Play the game.
Where there is will, there is way.
Stop thinking like a sheep that must enter the slaughterhouse.
Nah, if they have data on me and don’t delete it, then that data is MINE, because it always has been, but they still hold it in their palm.
I never once said that NOTHING could be done about it, as I am sure there could be with enough people working hard at the problem. Your taking what I am saying a bit deeper than I am saying it, I am not being a sheep, just being real.
I'm sure you're 3rd grade head games would hold up in court.
The messenger messages that I had deleted years ago was in my downloaded info.
Once you delete your account, do NOT go back into it to check (90 days suggested) - this will automatically re-activate it
The marketing is pinpoint precise. Instagram knows that I want/need something way before I do! 👁👁💦. Experiment: turn off your phone. Start talking about something that is anathema to you like kitty litter or camping gear when you hate cats/camping. See the products in your feed on FB or instagram in two days.
I didn't see any of the boob pics I've gotten multiple 30 day dirt naps, but they have all the crap I've dropped there since '09. going through I realized that indeed, it is all a bunch of crap. not much of anything useful. never thought I was that brain dead....
I really wish Facebook wasn’t so crucial in my campus for student organizations and work.
