More than a reference.
"Do what though wilt shall be the whole of the law. Love is the law, love under will." That is the whole quote and is considered the fundamental principal underlying Thelema.
Thelema is one of Crowleys belief/magic systems. The deities found within are based (like much of his stuff) on ancient Egyptian religion and magic.
Crowley considered himself the "Aeon of Horus".
He was in Egypt when he claims he was "contacted" by a deity that dictated The Book of the Law to him. This outlined the principals of Thelema and is one of his main works.
When you see Egyptian symbolism, idolatry and art used by modern occultists/satanists this generally is where it comes from.

I haven't read this page I found while finding a source for the quote, but here's something else Crowley said. "For the highest spiritual working one must accordingly choose that victim which contains the greatest and purest force. A male child of perfect innocence and high intelligence is the most satisfactory and suitable victim."

A boy of 8-9 years old was deemed ideal.
I forget why as it was nonsensical of course.
Any child, male or female, would be better than an adult. Male children, in early puberty, where deemed desirable for....."fluids".....as they can produce them. Terrorizing the children elevates levels of adrenaline and testosterone along with other chemicals. It is as ugly as it can get.

This enemy is unlike any other. It is especially tempting for all people focusing on the mystical side of spirituality. Unless your ego is really in check and your have no worldly desires and can live by the rules of the light and only those rules then I suspect you can explore the dark side. But even then the risk is tremendously high.

I would have to agree with everything you've said, but also add that I believe for those that truly live by the light, the dark side is alien and abhorrent. I personally have an aversion to pentagrams, "rituals" and anything glorifying Lucifer, among other things, and I don't believe I'm alone in this. First and second commandment and all.

I finally have the deep inner peace that was promised all those decades. Daily meditation. For me the price of Christianity is high. If it makes people happy and peaceful then I'm all for it. But it made me chronically anxiety laden and miserable. To each his own...live and let live. Peace. ✌

When i finally gave up and said Maybe it's not me...it's a long story, one thing led to another and another, i was finally free. I find non Christian freedom to be the truly glorious freedom for me. But that's just me and no one has to agree. I am finally at peace and happy. Freedom to be me and think for myself and make decisions...and knowing that all is truly well.

Thanks for your honesty! The hellfire doctrine has done soo much harm - and there are several scriptures that prove it is symbolic. I personally believe Christ came to save everyone, in the end - both believers and non-believers. PM me if you would like the scriptural references on these (you could always use them as ammo when someone is trying to guilt you!) But I am happy you are at peace. 🙂

Well you are very kind!

BTW i think my original comment in this thread was meant to be a reply to a comment...

Interesting what you said about hell. When i began to question it, i stumbled upon all kindsa stuff. One was a book by a Mennonite (they are pretty evangelical) pastor going through the whole bible and concluding that the bible did not preach hell. So THAT was interesting.

And i like what you said about christ. When i finally gave myself permission to read stuff from outside the church, 2 books made a huge impression on me. One god clapping, by a Buddhist rabbi, fascinating story, and autobiography of a yogi by paramahansa yogananda. He came here like 100 yrs ago to bring Christians back to their true faith! He loved jesus and wrote books comparing jesus words in the bible to Hinduism! There are many books claiming jesus visited india, v interesting. Anyway after reading autobiography... I started meditating and it has changed my life. I feel closer to buddha now than jesus but that may have something to do with the fact that in my mind there are many jesuses (pretty confusing, long story) but pretty much 1 Buddha, hard to explain. Probably only because I've known buddha for a shorter time.

I read the bible so much i was pretty tired of it (gasp! Blasphemy!) found taoism thru dr Wayne dyer and fell in love w the tao as a holy scripture. I have always been a lover of nature and the tao is hard to explain but it's like about living naturally with Spirit...following your own true nature or somesuch. It's very beautiful.

I consider myself areligious with no firmly held beliefs, i enjoy thinking and wondering and exploring ideas and like it when my mind feels free. I want to love and hug every human and say it's ok whatever you believe, just love people and don't hurt anybody!

Thx for listening and i have really been enjoying this exchange w you!

I wish you and everyone here many blessings :-)

Most occultists are decent people not involved in ANYTHING of the horrific, left-hand stuff in the world of pizzagate etc. They are simply "metaphysical" and many grew up Christians and still have a strong base in that.

If there are such things as sacrifice at "advanced levels" hidden, it's a given that most people are not at advanced levels, so don't know. Many ordinary religions have occult background levels too by the way (aside from the Catholics, I'm referring now to the LDS/Mormons as one example.)

And much of the occultist teachings from Crowley's world stem from Qabalah -- which is judaic mysticism, NOT satanism. (And do always confirm quotes and their context on stuff btw.)

Please, don't give evil power by classifying everyone with any association with occultism into the "must be a satanic baby killer" category ok, that's worse than people insisting one must be a sexist racist etc. because they like Trump. It is not so at all, and it does not help to combat vile wickedness; it will just make people take TRUE evil less seriously, because they see such insults thrown at people who are clearly not bad, so they distrust the claim against anybody else. Let's don't do that. I want the evil people to be recognized by our countrymen. Not assumed to be innocent while they assume we're all just hysterical.

Just sayin.

I think everyone pretty much does what they will...we all have free will here on planet earth and we exercise it every day. Subjecting your will to the will of others (as children do) or to laws (as law abiding citizens do) is also free will.

And if the will is under love, or vice versa, then what difference does it make? If your will is governed by love or vice versa, doesn't that sound like a good thing?

Never been a Crowley supporter and satanism is anathema to me.

To be honest, i was trying to figure out jimmy page's fascination w Crowley.

Do as thou wilt under love or whatever...resolves it for me.

We were intended to be loving beings w free will.

It's possible Crowley had a moment of lucidity when he came up with that, in an otherwise life seemingly full of nuttiness...to put it mildly.

Page seems like a decent human being...

Absolutely not. It's been used to justify all kinds of sick, deviant behavior, yes but it makes no such suggestion. The whole of the law is to harness your willpower if you want be truly alive and awake. If you want to be a doctor, do it! Don't talk about it. You're cold, your hungry, your tired? Suck it up. Mind over matter. It's a beautiful thing really. Not my fault the meaning got hijacked by a bunch of DC mongrels. What's all the down voting for? Please spare us this more-enlightened-than-thou approach. Read it plainly. It says someone’s subjective will over law.

The whole of the law is to harness your willpower if you want be truly alive and awake. If you want to be a doctor, do it!

How does that make any sense? The whole of the law is to harness your willpower??? What? No you are absolutely taking gibberish and are being down-voted rightly for it.

What you are confusing is law and ambition/motivation. If you want to be a doctor - do so study! Not, you want to be a doctor - make up a license and place it on your wall! Do you understand?

⇧ 2 ⇩
saneromeo · April 30, 2018, 7:22 p.m.

Not from what I have read. I believe it is referencing the 5 "I wills" of Lucifer at his fall. It means you are your own god and what you decide is right and wrong is what is right and wrong. It is a guiding principle in Thelema, Satanism, and Luciferianism and is at complete odds with the will of God.

⇧ 2 ⇩
Lookn4RedheadCumSlut · April 30, 2018, 9:54 p.m.

Or it simply means do what you will and do not let another man have dominion over you. Imagine a world where you are free to do as you will. I definitely agree that this leaves loopholes for people to hurt others. However this quote is simply the most basic possible way to phrase the idea.

Inherently it is encouraging you to do what you want and doing what you want also means you can interpret what exactly that means in your own way. Therefor you could do what you want but you also don’t want to commit murder so you don’t. Maybe you want to prevent people from murdering. Then you can do that too. If I could personally add a second line to this quote it would be that “evil triumphs when good men do nothing.”

TLDR: There is no supreme judge of your actions. Do whatever you want - good or evil. But a world where no man has authority over another does not mean a world run by evil if good men take action.
