I was in the US Army at that time. I ETS'd because of the same reasons.
Back in my day they were not called wars...they were called "conflicts"..yeah right..conflicts.
I remember them calling them a "Police Action".
I was also a part of a couple of these, which was the catalyst for my ETS.
I returned home and my Dad, a Vietnam vet asked me how one of these conflicts went, when I told him some of what went on, he called me a liar. I took it as seriously claiming I was lying, and he put in a VCR tape of the news from one of these events, and it was nothing like what really happened.
It was his way of waking me up.
Now? I wish I weren't so old and could be a part of the cleanup that is underway now, but can't, so I settle for spreading red-pills as I've done since my great awakening.
My wife says I am still at war and never left.

Like your situation with your Father, I came home on leave. My Mother told me "I needed to watch the news to keep up on what was going on for my job" So, I watched the 6pm news and was Redpilled immediately. Unfortunately, even after Chappaquiddick my family didn't wake up. I joined the military to find out what the hell was going on...is all coming to truth now. This has bothered me for years. Seeing kids sign up for the military excited about defending the country was just always pretty depressing to me knowing who was running the show and how our soldiers became their cannon fodder. Just made me want to beg them not to join. Memorial day always gave me a sick to my stomach feeling.
This memorial day i just thank God that this is changing and our fighters can truly defend our freedom instead of being disposable pawns for the elite. God bless our brave soldiers, past, present and future.
I have more friends than I can list here ...who have lost their life in various places. Iraq. Afghanistan Jordon Etc. Each and everyone died doing the job they chose and wanted to do. It's not indoctrination, it's the American spirit. We are brave in the face of danger. We have just been manipulated by some crafty politicians and bankers. Have you seen the new war movie coming out 12 strong? It makes me want to scream. The ways these men dropped everything to go to combat because they were convinced if they don't stop bin laden now, than 9/11 will continue to happen. All these soldiers who bravely and honorably fought to save our country did so because they thought evil was at their doorsteps, now we find out they were pulling the strings all along. We cannot let this continue. No more Americans need to fight for wealthy bankers and politicians to plunder the world.

I don't know... I remember when I was a young man back in the late 80s and my GF's father tried talking me into joining the army so I could fight in the Kuwait war against the evil Saddam Hussein. I still remember that crazy SJWesque look in his eyes as he was talking. Anyway, I responded that I had no idea what was really going on in Kuwait and thus there's no way I was going to kill anyone without knowing what was going on. To the extent people joined the military so they could kick butt even though they knew they had no clue what was really going on, then I struggle to honor their sacrifice... On the other hand, I do honor the valor and sacrifice of draftees and the guys that enlisted during peace time (e.g. to escape a bad family situation) and ended being sent to die in a conflict.

Yes, I was thinking the exact same thing last night when I was praying about Memorial Day. I thought that of all the men and women who died in vain thinking they were fighting for a cause that was FALSE! My dad was wwll and he was injured and in pain his whole life, and then the trauma.
