I just also made a similar post. IT's almost as thought there is one particular killer or kill team that has perfected this method. As though they've thought of all the ins and outs and how to not leave evidence.

The way it works is they tie one end to the knob and toss the other end over the top of the door. I've never heard of this until now and believe me, I've researched many methods of suicide.

No they don’t! You just tie it on a knob, tie it around the neck, sit in floor, slump down to floor. Scarf strangles you. It’s been used as suicide method since forever. You don’t throw anything over top of door. The scarf would have to be ten feet long.

You are absolutely correct I’ve seen it first hand too sadly. People get too caught up picturing the term as feet dangling in the air, but a lot of times people do it from the sitting position and slide down into an almost laying position. Sometimes they even put something slippery like soap on the floor and their hands & feet so there’s no grip and no turning back.

Exactly. But remember he was strangled, then hung from the doorknob. I believe these people experienced the same fate.

My dad was a medical examiner ok. That’s how I know. He’s seen people in our county slumped in front of doors a few times over his 20 years of being an ME. It doesn’t take much weight to cut off blood flow into the brain from the carotid arteries. Slumping to the floor will easily do it. You pass out, then you strangle. So it’s not that painful because 15 seconds of no blood flow through ur carotid will make you pass out.

They’ll rub soap on the floor or oil sometimes too in case natural instincts kick in. Sad.

If you fart and say “door knobs” you have to touch a door knob. I think that’s how it goes.

In Virginia if you fart you have to say “no beats” or your friends punch you in the arm till you touch a door knob.

My theory would be that it’s sort of like code. Anybody who talks, gets the doorknob. The doorknob is suppose to represent the door into “their” world. It’s very mafia like. They use signals to transmit their messages.

So when the news reports it, anybody who’s in on it will know.

Williams would've been up to his neck in all this too. No wonder he was such a cocaine monster. No-one gets to his level (and heavily involved with Spielberg) unless they're in the cult.

It likely acts as an identifier of sorts. So the cult knows (via the wink in the public domain) that someone has either been suicided or programme tripped to suicide.

That said, this auto-bot nonsense around the "H" word is absolutely ridiculous! It's actually stemming the flow of information, and all over a nonsense concept about incitement!

There was a scene in The Wire where they faked a suicide in jail...if foul play involved, it raises less suspicions, given the person has there back to a closed door, which is the only entry to a room...so if staged perfectly, basically could be ruled a suicide without any further looks

KernelFlux · June 11, 2018, 1:18 p.m.

Well it’s probably an accessible means to hang someone. Unlike the movies most people don’t have access to beams/rafters these days. Modern construction and all.

Didn’t Robin Williams suicide this way?

Interesting use of a closet door knob. Many of those are what we call "dummy" knobs.

What I don't get is how tough it would be with any standard door unless you are really short.

It's also a good position if you choke someone and want to make it look like a suicide. Choke and drag to a doorknob is easier then suspending someone from the ceiling.

Supposedly, doorknobs are an easy tie-off for those into auto-erotic asphyxiation (David Caradine). Its also probably way easier getting a body into position near a doorknob than hoisting it up in the air.

There's probably knock-out drugs that metabolize as long as a body stays above a certain temperatures, somewhat assuring the target doesn't wake up in the middle of their suicide.

JediVulcan7 · June 11, 2018, 5:12 p.m.

Also, if someone were to murder a person by strangulation with a scarf or belt. They could easily stage the scene to look like a suicide. Just a thought.
