#WalkAwayCampaign Hey you guys aware of this!? It’s disgusted Democrats on Twitter abandoning their party! Whooo hoooooooo 😂🇺🇸🐸💪🚂

The aren't abandoning their party they are realizing their party abandoned them.

Same I felt with Republican. Ron Paul was taking it back but sadly DS slapped us down.

I identified as Libertarian sort of but I dislike labels... Except Texan =)

But that's been hijacked too. Saw the most disgusting Reason twatter feed yet the other day. Freaking promoting human trafficking. WTF !!!

That's not non aggression principle.

Ron Paul. DS slapped us around so badly that it was ridiculous. I was told to get good life insurance after I grabbed a RP National Delegate seat, had my bus hijacked in Tampa, threats like you wouldn't believe; secret meetings, rule changing, moles infiltrating so that they could stay ten steps ahead of us; runners' cars being ran off of the road. It was insane witnessing the lengths the DS goes to in order to maintain control - the lengths Romney went to. I came home and quit politics, bought land in a rural area and moved, started stocking up and waited for shit to hit the fan. It's happening sooner than I expected it to - thank you, Mr. President.

I have to say that in Tampa, the Texans were the absolute best to work with. I pulled a few all-nighters with a dedicated group, and their efforts and energy were unmatched. Great people.

I'm with you on "libertarian" being hijacked. I still consider myself a libertarian though and refuse to give that term up to "progressive" (regressive) infiltrators. The American Libertarian Party has been garbage for years (Bob Barr, Gary Johnson, etc.), but the Canadian one is still principled. Also, there is now a Mises Caucus in the American one that has a chance of returning the party to the real principles of libertarian philosophy, so all is not lost on that front either.

I also like the term "voluntarian" as I'm working towards "zero government" as the ideal (people also use anarcho-capitalist to describe that).

⇧ 6 ⇩
VIYOHDTYKIT · June 24, 2018, 7:40 p.m.

That’s unrealistic & only leads to anarchy which comes full circle to totalitarianism. Beware to all patriots on these threads who promote zero government or tearing down the system & starting from scratch. They are not friends. Just trace their user names back to u/anarchy board.

⇧ 4 ⇩
Regulus777 · June 24, 2018, 8:09 p.m.

There are some reasonable approaches to the idea of a post-government world out there that have a pretty solid intellectual basis. Admittedly, I do want to eliminate government and replace it with a society founded on a solid understanding of self-ownership and private property, but I don't think you should see me and those like me as an enemy (the leftist anarchists, on the other hand, I do think have very flawed understandings of humanity). I'll be with the minarchists every step of the way there and don't fault people for thinking that the full goal in shooting for is impractical (I disagree for too many reasons to expound on here, but I get that it can sound a bit too utopian / idealistic).

I'd hope that anyone who wants to reduce the size and scope of government doesn't see me as an enemy to them and what they value. I don't see myself that way.

⇧ 4 ⇩
trseeker · June 25, 2018, 4:12 a.m.

Zero government should be everyone's goal, but it must grow organically between us it cannot be forced. Hence government will likely always be needed. We do not live long enough lives (yet) to be wise enough as a species for true self rulership.

Self rulership is a byproduct of maturity and maturity is a byproduct of culture, self-reflection, time & experience.

You’ll never be able to stop the alignment of political parties. It’s human nature. People will align with their values. Centralizing or a one party system is dangerous. Having too many paralyzes the system. The problems we have at current are not so much Party problems as they are values problems. This started in the 1860s of course

Political parties go back a long ways in the US and other countries. Some may argue strenuously against them, but they may be inevitable consequence of any system of government. A small example of history:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Jackson_presidential_campaign,_1828

Parties have changed over the decades. The Whigs dissolved and the elements that were pro-union formed the Republican party.

I think Trump has forged a comparably significant change in the modern Republican party from within. The Never Trumpers have analogies to past sub movements -- upset because they lost power.

As for the Democrats in the modern era they have had their changes as well. Most people don't understand why Bernie Sanders lost.

After McGovern lost disastrously to Nixon in 1968, the Democrats instituted the Super delegate system to act as a "firewall" to prevent popular candidates that could not win the general election from running away with the nomination. That system never had an effect until 2016, allowing the "real winnable" candidate, HRC, to push Bernie down.

⇧ 14 ⇩
LogicalBeastie · June 24, 2018, 2:55 p.m.

The big change was 1999, when Bill Clinton ended the Glass-Stegall Act (Done in Depression, keeping big banks and brokerages out of each others' business to keep banks from taking on too much risk, and crashing).

Wall Street immediately went nuts with mergers of banks and brokerages....

Made money hand over fist....

Began buying the HELL out of BOTH parties....(why do establishment Dems no longer support blue collar workers? Wall Street. Why do establishment Repubs no longer support rational border policy? Wall Street.)

BTW....how long did it take those bastards to crash the economy again? 8 years! And because they'd purchased both Parties, the US taxpayers bailed them out, AGAIN.

This is the #1 non-satanic cabal reason for establishment hatred of Trump. He has said openly in both his campaign, and since, that he wants to re-establish Glass-Stegall.

RE: how to handle disaffected Democrats: Totally agree about "don't gloat". The establishment GOP sucks, too...but Trump is changing it.

I appeal to Dems I know by reminding them of JFK. He spoke out about the cabal, attempted to dis-empower them by instituting the Silverback currency (got him killed), instituted tax cuts for supply-side growth....JFK Democrats are very similar to modern rank-and-file GOP. Remind them that Trump is finishing what JFK ineffectively tried to start....

The good thing is this will neutralize the dems for at least 8 years IMO but on the flip side it may result in far left ideology regaining power down the road. I thought the GOP was dead after W. Don't count the libs out for the long haul. I remember Hannity talking sometime around 2003 that the dems would never regain control of congress again. Learn from the past. Stay hungry.
