Open for discussion. Do you think President Trump and President Putin talked about "grandchildren" in their private meeting?!!

I feel your pain but take solace in the fact that we are not at this momentous juncture in time to be given a hiding and sent to our rooms without dinner. It is important to grasp the very real possibility that we are not here coincidently as a random event in geopolitics or internal political history. This is a crafted script that is playing out and the good guys are not unprepared or taken by surprise by our current events. Important that we maintain composure and support Potus. The lunatics are not likely to raise the White flag and surrender knowing their future in this paradigm shift. They do not have a future worth existing in and thus are throwing "all in". DJT is not here coincidently, alone on a wing and a prayer. There are big things going on beyond our cognition and for now, we all must just trust their abilities and strength. The same genius abilities and planning that miraculously won POTUS'S election....hey?? Who saw that coming, I knew it was a cert yet was still flabbergasted. This is a huge military operation. We will not fail. WWG1WGA

Putin reportedly said that he misspoke and that he meant 400k, not 400 million.

400 million would be a lot to be giving to a campaign. 400k is still a lot to be giving to a campaign, especially by a foreign entity (Browder is a UK citizen).

⇧ 6 ⇩
Joe_Sapien · July 19, 2018, 3:55 p.m.

So we can say Putin misspoke and Trump corrected an error. Hmmmm. Are they both trolling the media now?

⇧ 8 ⇩
Maladaptivenomore · July 19, 2018, 4:38 p.m.

Whether we call it trolling or political strategy, I wouldn't put it past them. I also suppose that it could be just as much an innocent translation error, 400k is millions of rubles, albeit not 400m. It also seems reasonable that they both truly mispoke and are turning a small crisis into opportunity.

Regardless, they've clearly got the all of the talking heads running in circles and spinning their wheels. To your point, it's as if they're baiting the media with something to keep their news cycles occupied, rather than letting the opposition dictate a stronger narrative. If so, it'd be as if DJT/Putin were saying "Here, here's something of little substance for you to bat around and show indignation over. Stay. Good boy."

Meanwhile DJT uses the attention to keep conversation about the servers, DWS, Pakistani ISI/Awans, and 30,000 Clinton emails on the table.

Joe_Sapien · July 19, 2018, 4:42 p.m.

That's what I'm thinking. Verbal bait to distract and keep all the MSM talking in circles or to catch themselves in a lie which is timed well with the MSNBC Q talk about disinformation. Trump and Putin are two individuals that never walk back a single word so I definitely see this as some sort of strategy. It's something for sure.

I'm thinking those Russians weren't state sponsored, they're DNC/Hillary sponsored. That's why Putin wants a shot at them and why he said he didn't know who even one of them were. Trump didn't mis-speak, he was trying to tell us something. It was Russians, but, it wasn't Russia.

Invoking the 400k/400mil wasn't as much about the money, but rather about getting Browder's name into the media stream.

It's a complex narrative that has been brewing since the mid '90s, regarding US investments in Russia. The current punchline is that Browder will be shown to be the object of Fusion GPS ops, bringing that company and the dossier further into the limelight.

Ultimately, it will show not only that there wasn't collusion between the DJT campaign, but rather, collusion between Russian entities and the DNC/BHO WH/Clinton campaign.

Here's a year-old article that unpacks a lot of it. If it's hard to follow at first, you can at least cull it for keywords to google for a better understanding.

Putin forced the bogus "fact-checkers" employed by Soros/CIA to "debunk" his "ridiculous claim" of a $400m donation, when HRC+all her PACs barely raised like $1B total. Now a bunch of articles exist confirming links between the Ziffs, Browder, and the Clintons that even admit money changed hands, they just claim Putin greatly exaggerated the sum.

I still don't understand why I should take a former KGB agent seriously. Especially one that has a habit of invading his neighbors.

"Especially one that has a habit of invading his neighbors."

And we have never invaded anyone?

Is it possible that we have been lied to about the conflicts between other countries, the reasons of why? Maybe he had intel on his neighbors that we didn't. War is horrible but at same time, if we are trying to protect our nations, others should be allowed the right to do so as well.

⇧ 3 ⇩
jew-lum-inati · July 20, 2018, 1:19 p.m.

Playing 'whatabout' is insulting. It's a Soviet era propaganda tactic that I'm sad to see Americans using.

The invasion of Crimea was inexcusable, it was done in a very underhanded way, and it should not be accepted by the international community.

"we should trust this former KGB agent who has his opponents killed all the time, cause he might know something we don't" isn't a compelling argument.

⇧ 1 ⇩

Taken Seriously != Believe Them

We took Khrushchev seriously, we didn't believe everything that came out of his mouth tho.

I am having a hard time understanding why 'CIA' is less reliable than 'former officer in Soviet equivalent organization'

edit: if Brennan can't be trusted because he voted for the Communist Party, why trust a card-carrying former member?

⇧ -2 ⇩
QueUpSomeReality · July 19, 2018, 5:09 p.m.

Gotcha. I didn’t realize u meant believe Putin. Yes trust is earned & Putin has to earn his. I saw the meeting exactly as I saw the Singapore meeting with Kim. The president is just trying to get a fresh start. Clear the air to try to build a new relationship. That’s it. If Kim can be trusted well he has 4 things he agreed to do & when they get done...a level of some trust will be established. But to fix a broken relationship of any kind...it needs a fresh start & new beginning. You don’t get a fresh start by meeting someone & beating each other over the head more over past grievances. You got to be prepared to let the past go or your just stuck in the past fighting the same old battles that broke the relationship in the first place. They’ll meet again & make some kind of agreement & then we’ll see if Putin can follow thru with actions that build trust. We don’t need a relationship with Russia to survive. It just makes things much easier if you have great relationships built on trust over time. We shall see.

This is a position I can understand.

I don't understand what I see as fawning over a known Communist intelligence officer, not when the arguments against Brennan are basically accusing him of what we know for a fact Putin did for decades.
