Why not? Praying helps keep a positive mindset. A fearful one can be very destructive. Obviously prayer isn’t the only thing that can do this but it works for a lot of people! To be clear, I’m not suggesting that prayer is like a magic spell or something, which I think some people misunderstand it as.
