INTRO TO BAKING

Qresearch is a 24/7 beehive of activity where anons post their diggs, memes and prayers.

For this to happen requires ''bakers''--which is why they have been called "the core of this board."

Bakers perform several key functions:

* Set the tone for each bread via their choice of bread title and /comms/ with posters.

Greetings anons, glad you're here. If you have anything you'd like to discuss, plz feel free. But thought i'd share some thoughts on notes to grease the wheels before class begins.

 

Some thoughts on long notable buns

Today, there were some objections to very long notables during morning bake. Here are a few observations, just my 2cents:

One, there's nothing inherenly wrong with long notables. Lotsa news or a long shift mean (potentially) lotsa notes.

Two, it's true that longer notes take more time to read. Some mind this, others don't. It's a tradeoff.

Three, when one poster posts a lot of news, i don't mind if it's good content. Just my 2cents.

 

Ideas for making long notables easier to read:

  • Don't use wordy copypasta MSM headlines "as is", try to simplify & shorten

  • Combine DJT tweets unless especially noteworthy

  • Look for other ways to combine (not just diggs - just plucked this from qr: >>9174284 planefaggin n boatfaggin )

  • Avoid 'kitchen sinking' - throwing every little thing in on the same topic

  • Make buns if necessary (scrapers don't like them but we don't just bake for them)

  • Try to group like items together if there are a lot of them. (Ok, although I generally keep things in order, when there's a big story with lots of angles, it works better to group things sometimes, e.g., Notre Dame Fire stories). Like a special bun but keeps links available.

Agree. an issue that can arise is that every anon has a somewhat different idea about what 'high-quality' info looks like. We all agree about include POTUS twats, Q-related diggs, and super relevant MSM reports ("Obama indicted!"). But what is relevant to one person (and one baker) is not so relevant to another.

Yeah, it's deflating not to bake (or not to bake as much) when you're a baker. I did bake an early morning bread a coupla days ago, really gave me a rise. But find other things to do to support bakers–all the stuff we ask anons to do. Espec dough checking these days….

yeah, i've got that flexible sticky-ish tape. Hurt like a son of a bitch, but one great thing about toes: not too many nerve endings. Better now. Funny thing is this: due to muh social distancing, Kaiser clinic is closed so when i called the dr's office to report toe and get a handicapped parking permit, they didn't ask for a pic, much less an x-ray. BUT THERE'S MORE:

Good that you listed the pastebin. Brings up another new 'feature' of pastebin.com - even for pro users: the 'possible spam detected' message that comes up before it will display the paste. Captcha is now required on some (maybe all) pastes just to DISPLAY them.

 

Would switch to another paste provider but, as Doc knows, the research done so far hasn't netted one that has all the features of pastebin.com. Some anon should set up a pastebin.com alternative, pastebin is getting to be a real pain in the ass.

Good way to start w/notables is collect them in a bread when baker or D'oh also collects. Then compare yours with theirs. No two notables lists are ever the same, so don't worry about that.

sounds good.

but i have the same problem right now bc of physical limitations, can't do anything fast enough wo/making the symptoms worse. the only bake i did recently was very early am, when at least it was slow. i needed to do at least one bake to regain confidence after so many attacks and the loss of fast bake abilities. Was a joy to do it.

When you open the qresearch catalog, you see all the threads ( = 'breads').

The Q Research General thread is one Q posts on and the one that requires a lot of maintainance because it goes fast and has a lot of posts.

There are 751 posts per bread.

At the end of the bread, someone needs to create a new and transfer all the resource material at the top of each bread (the "dough") from the old to the new. That's the baker.

Bakers also collect notable posts (ones anons will want to read) and put them on page 2 of the dough where they are easily found.

Last, bakers look out for the board and the breads (espec the dough).

So that's the job in a nutshell.

So you are talking about the UID for the thread.

You would also need to track baker changes, if any. Ideally, such changes are tagged to the dough. But this frequently doesn't happen. Yesterday I "dough tagged" a baker picking up a ghost so another baker wouldn't try to bake.

Re tripcodes:

Tripcodes can be displayed on /comms/ but not on /qresearch/ (unless you're Q).

 

BTW, do you know if there is a way to archive threads so that the mp4's are still playable?

Good luck with that. As you know, there is a protocols for handoffs but it does not always get used, especially for ghost bread pickups. Trying to compel bakers to use an exact format is very difficult. I just posted what i thought was a sensible suggestion to indicate dough changes last night and got blasted for it - "hall monitor", "bureacratic" etc. And worse (although those would be the shills, kek. Bakers will try to follow certain conventions for the sake of scrapers but even that was controversial at first. wearethene.ws was totally opposed by…hmmm….not sure. Anons? Shills? "You're directed people off-site!" Took months for them to gain acceptance, you prolly remember.

 

So it's not a trivial problem.

BTW, i don't think i would support a 'set' protocol for handoffs that must be strictly followed. Bakers like to play with handoffs, using fun language variants, (like "'firmed" instead of "confirmed" for example. It's one of the few times in each bread they can be a little playful and creative.

Short baker story:

Picked up a ghost bake mid-bread after note-taker signed out, did it w/no time to read pb notes or Q posts. So told anons that and requested help in checking notes. And they gave it, helped with dup notes, sauce.

 

Inherited one note-taker note that had sauce that was (maybe) iffy, may have been discussed b4 I came. Q posted so bred got speedier. Later in the bred, anon said sauce was iffy. Another provided a gov doc as sauce, but I had no time to read it.

 

What to do?

 

I did add but also gave the next baker permission to remove it if necessary. Never did that before but knew another baker was on deck, would be aware of the situation.

 

Giving permission won't help if a shill intentionally puts something bad into notables. But it does provide another option for end of bread decisions.

Well, even shill breads have mostly ok notables with one or two ringers. Shills breads are not usually locked for hoursand sometimes even daysso that might be a problem. If I know there's a shill bread, i'll often check the catalog a few hours later to see if it's been locked. If not, I'll put in another request. Sometimes it takes a few. Eventually, the bred will be off the catalog but might take, hmmm, 24 hours? If never lockedwhich has happenedcan stay around for much longer. That's how Q came to post in a bread from one or two days earlier last month.

 

Dough post fixed in what way?

Will be at the start and have a pastebin. But sometimes pastebins are posted by anons other than the baker on duty, especially if baker is new, Q is posting or there are dup breads.

 

Lotsa variables, huh?

The problem is always that these issues come up towards the end of bread, either because of late posts or fast breads. It takes time for anons to digest what's in the bread, espec if a notable is sketchy; they have to really check it out. By the time they post, it's 600 plus and baker thinks "oh crap."

 

Just never thought before of adding the "permission to change" provision. Can protect/support both the outgoing and incoming baker–also makes anons feel like they're input matters.

They happen a lot to me, kek. It's because i often step in when baker must ghost. Often arrive mid-bread and play catch up for 20-25 minutes. Then end of bread arrives and it's "baker, baker, what about this?" (usually from before I arrived).

 

Policy of not changing another baker's pb notables is a good one. But giving permission to change one particular notacle has three advantages:

1 - allows for exceptions to the rule but only when baker says yes

2 - gives anons the power to object nb when there is more time for discussion (more participatory)

3 - weakens 'bakers union' narrative (by demonstrating baker's willingness to share decision-making power)

How to bake a baking seminar dough

For every dough:

  1. Change the date in the dough on page 1 to the next class date.

  2. When creating a thread: Subject = "Baking Seminar #____; Comment = [page 1 of dough]; File [see CAP]

  3. Changes to other pages depend up whether there's more material to add.
