STEP 5a: Bake!

When you are READY TO BAKE–@640 to 680–select "Create a New Thread."

STEP 6a: Wait for the bred to "drop"

In /comms/, the thread will post right away. Rarely happens in /qresearch/.

Instead, you get the "posting 100%" message.

Solution: Wait 20-30 seconds, then open Catalog; your thread should now be there.

STEP 6b: Enter the rest of the dough

= posting pages 2, 3, 4 of the dough.

''CAUTION:'' make sure you copypasta rather than cutting what you paste.

If you get the "body too long" message, you have to shorten the page.

* Quick solution: Split the page into two posts.

* Long-term solution: Make sure pages are not too long before baking. HOW? ''By consolidating, see below.''

PART III: DOUGH POST & FRESH BREAD

STEP 7 & 7a: Make the Dough Post

a. Go back to text editor and mark entire dough text.

b. Open pastebin.com & click 'New Paste.'

c. Copypasta text into New Paste field.

d. Save the pastebin–then post it in the new bread.

STEP 8: Post the Fresh Bread link

a. In new bread, select Dough Post link several times

b. Go to "old" bread & post it there @730-740 to give anons a "path" to next bread.

How to CONSOLIDATE old posts to create space for new ones

The board is dynamic; when new posts (Q & notables) come in, old ones must go out.

To consolidate notables:

a. Go to list of oldest notables.

b. Delete everything EXCEPT the link at the bottom.

c. Move that link to the top line in "Previously Collected Notables"

NOTE: "Previously Collected Notables" section shouldn't be longer than 3-5 lines

(shorten by deleting the bottom row.)

To consolidate Q drops

Same process, except you need to post the Q drops in current bread to generate a link.

BAKING PROCESS: 3 PARTS

STEP 0: Open your text editor

* PC: Notepad or Notepad++ (the latter has multi-tab editing).

* Mac: TextEdit; or try Atom for multi-tab editing.

(Having multi-tabs means you can have one file for notables and another for the dough.)

STEPS 1 and 2: Find dough post & copy to a browser

Dough = first four posts of the bred (Intro/Q drops, Notables, War Room, QPosts Archives)

Dough post is directly after the dough unless updated.

Once you hit Enter, you are in Pastebin.com (the app that lets you share plain text files with others).

STEP 3: Paste dough into a text editor

a. Select RAW from the menu (to format properly).

b. Mark the entire text (Ctrl-A) and copypasta into text editor.

c. Look at the file. It contains FOUR posts separated by page breaks: ///////BREAK\\\\

STEP 4 : Create a New Thread

Go to the Catalog; select the Create a New Thread link.

STEP 5: Enter the thread info

IDEA for a baking class dough

Below i'm gonna post a possible "dough model" for future baking classes. Draft 1 has four pages:

page 1 - intro [class #, class date, past links/archives].

page 2 - Q & A from classes 1-5

page 3 - baker tips etc from classes 1-5

page 4 - other baker resources

good info - but kind of long.

The info on pages 2 and 3 will soon overflow, as well. So in the long run, they need to be consolidated and turned into links.

But in the short run, pages 2 and 3 give new bakers quick answers to their questions.

Also shows that bakers have diverse ideas about stuff – it's not "one size fits all."

Later, we'd have maybe a two-page dough, something like this:

page 1 - Intro to class & links to step-by-step baking

page 2 - Intro to baking, FAQs & links to other baking resources

• Intro to Baking doc

• Glossary of baking terms

• links to detailed Q & A [page 2 above]

• links to detailed baker tips [page 3 above]

• links to other baker resources

Either version is followed by a DOUGH LINK, so if main baker hasn't baked the dough by 10-15 mins prior to class, another baker can bake it and do Q & A.

Intro to Baking

Qresearch is a 24/7 beehive of activity where anons post relevant diggs, memes and prayers. For this to be possible, there must be bakers for every bread–which is why the Welcome message calls them "the core of this board." Not because they are better than others, but because without bakers, the board could not exist.

Bakers perform several key functions:

First, they maintain the infrastructure of the board (the "dough), keeping it clean, tidy, and up-to-date.

How to handle notables when there is more than one baker

There are no hard and fast rules here, but the following is based on baking traditions that seem to work pretty well.

1. If there are already notables:

Can be from a baker or note-taker.

a. Notes from a baker: try your best to leave Baker 1's notable intact unless there are obvious spelling errors, big factual errors, or anon objections that don't come from shills (usually obvious).

b. Notes from a note-taker: depends on the note-taker. Can range for 2-3 sketchy notes to a bun that looks ready for baking. Generally, note-taker notes are like suggestions. But with experienced note-takers, I usually leave their notes alone or make only minor changes–and also give credit, see below.

1. Insert "baker change" in the notes to show where you picked up the bake. (If a note-taker made a significant contribution, i also insert something like "note collector" to show his notables.) Every so often–like during e-bakes–there are so many contributors that the best notation is "crowd bake."

1. Ordering the notes: When I'm Baker 2, I always use whatever the order used by Baker 1.. Next bread, I'm can change it up if i want.

Details: Q posts are always in new-to-old order. But notes can be ordered either up or down (up is new-to-old, down is old-to-new). In long breads with multiple note-takers/bakers, it's common to go down (common in gy shift)–less confusing. But there's no rule.

Here's an example of a "two-baker" bread where Baker 2 keeps the same order as Baker 1 and marks the baker change in the notes:

This is just another level of refinement - understanding baker protocols/customs.

How to handle notables when there is more than one baker

There are no hard and fast rules here, but the following is based on baking traditions that seem to work pretty well.

1. If there are already notables:

Can be from a baker or note-taker.

a. Notes from a baker: try your best to leave Baker 1's notable intact unless there are obvious spelling errors, major factual errors, or anon objections that don't come from shills (usually obvious).

b. Notes from a note-taker: depends on the note-taker. Can range for 2-3 sketchy notes to a bun that looks ready for baking. Generally, note-taker notes are like suggestions. But with experienced note-takers, I usually leave their notes alone or make only minor changes–and also give credit, see below.

1. Insert "baker change" in the notes to show where you picked up the bake. (If a note-taker made a significant contribution, i also insert something like "note collector" to show his notables.) Every so often–like during e-bakes–there are so many contributors that the best notation is "crowd bake."

1. Ordering the notes: When I'm Baker 2, I always use Baker 1's order. Next bread, I'm can change it up if i want. Details: Q posts are always in new-to-old order. But notes can be ordered either up or down (up is new-to-old, down is old-to-new). In long breads with multiple note-takers/bakers, it's common to go down (common in gy shift)–less confusing. But there's no rule.

Here's an example of a "two-baker" bread where Baker 2 keeps the same order as Baker 1 and marks the baker change in the notes:

Intro to Baking

Qresearch is a 24/7 beehive of activity where anons post their diggs, memes and prayers. For this to happen requires ''bakers–which is why they have been called "the core of this board." Bakers perform several key functions: First, they maintain the infrastructure of the board (the dough), keeping it clean, tidy, and up-to-date. Second, they manage the transition from one bread to another (baking). Third, they post notables'' for each bread. Last, bakers set the tone for each bread via their choice of bread title and /comms/ with posters. When all goes well, baking is a fun & exciting opportunity to serve.
