The late night Thursday attack of an Israeli-managed vessel in the Arabian Sea off the coast of Oman which left two international crew members dead was the result of a drone strike, the US Navy's Fifth Fleet has said in a Saturday statement.

The US Navy had boarded and assisted in the distressed Liberian-flagged 'Mercer Street' tanker's moving to safer waters on Friday after the incident which had initially been reported as possible piracy. The US military had immediately conducted an investigation in the aftermath, and is now citing "clear visual evidence that an attack had occurred," according to the new statement.

New Senate Report Says US Navy Puts Toxic Culture Over Seamanship

A new US Congressional study released this week finds toxic culture to be the link between recent casualties aboard ships including the USS Bonhomme Richard fire, as well as the USS McCain and USS Fitzgerald collisions. The study, commissioned by Senator Tom Cotton, found a broad consensus across interviewees on numerous cultural issues that impact the morale and readiness of the Navy’s surface force.

Among the top problems found was a culture with zero tolerance for risk, a blasé attitude towards ship-handling skills, micromanagement, and a total lack of understanding of journalism and the high levels of influence new digital media outlets wield today.

The One Mistake And You’re Out Navy

According to Mark Zuckerberg success in the 21st century comes from fostering ‘the freedom to fail’ and Bill Gates, another proponent of embracing failure, says “Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can’t lose.” Silicon Valley requires its leaders to “fail fast and often” but the US Navy takes the opposite approach. To become an Admiral today you need a perfect record and the only way to achieve that is to master bureaucracy and avoid taking any risks.

“A prevalent theme was a near-universal disdain for the so-called One Mistake Navy,” says the report. “Unwillingness to rehabilitate one-off mistakes and the practice of discipline-by-paperwork are a drain on the Navy’s retention efforts.”

Former Secretary of the Navy John Lehman has framed this problem in a historical context, suggesting that none of the four key Admirals who led victorious fleets in World War II would have made it to the rank of Captain in today’s Navy. “Nimitz put his first command on the rocks,” says Lehman. “Halsey was constantly getting into trouble for bending the rules… Ernie King was a womanizer and a heavy drinker. Admiral Leahy may be the only one that might have made it through, but he had quite a few blots on his record as well.”

Nobody is suggesting we return to a day where being drunk and surly was acceptable but today’s warship captains can no longer even take modest professional risks. The study finds they can no longer have small failures, learn, and move forward. Even more troubling is the fact they can’t help shipmates who have failed. “It’s just not done because it’s too dangerous for anybody that tries to help someone who has made a mistake.”

Underinvestment In Professional Seamanship Training

Chief among the problems is increasing emphasis on administrative duties to the detriment of basic seamanship skills or preparing ships to fight. The report noted a lack of effective onboard training magnifies a larger lack of investment in shipboard skills.

“It is estimated that getting an F-18E/F Hornet pilot from commissioning to the fleet squadron could cost as much as $3 million to $4 million dollars.” says the report. “Getting a Surface Warfare Officer to the fleet in some of these plans was often less than $30,000 or $40,000.”

Part Two

The report suggests that most Navy mandated training does not help prevent incidents or prepare sailors for war. “I guarantee you every unit in the Navy is up to speed on their diversity training.” said one navy leader. “I’m sorry that I can’t say the same of their ship handling training.”

“The reporters are in charge, not us.”

There is an undercurrent of fear in the surface fleet in regard to the amount of power new media has to influence policy in Washington and action in the pentagon. In the report, captains described commanding officers who refused to delegate below the Department Head level for basic issues such as watch-bill development, for fear of ending up on the cover of the Navy Times.

Interviewers observed a number of reactions to institutional jumpiness around new media. The first is a loss of faith in the chain of command who duck and hide to avoid media scrutiny.

According to the report, much of this pain is self-inflicted. The military, not just the Navy, has been slow to acknowledge the realities of new media. The report says that journalists are tasked with a difficult job that is vital to a healthy democracy but not all media outlets hire journalists. Some just echo social media rumors and false information.

“The objective of news organizations is to hold power to account, not to win wars.” says the report. “The Navy has forgotten how to differentiate between stories that are ignorable and stories that demand a response.”

Navy Vs Commercial Maritime Culture

According to the Naval Institute, this survey is not alone in identifying these problems. The Navy and government agencies have reached similar conclusions in several reports and investigations, most recently in the Government Accountability Office’s recent report on surface warfare retention. Similar problems have been reported at agencies that oversee commercial ships including MARAD, the US Coast Guard, and IMO.

From my perspective as a licensed shipmaster, these problems are not unique to the US Navy. The commercial maritime sector also struggles with balancing diversity and leadership training with shipboard training… and fails at both. We too are too bureaucratic and resist any change that could lead to failure. Like Navy Admirals, shipping executives rarely take responsibility and too often place all blame on Captains and crew.

From my perspective as the founder of a digital media outlet, the comments in this report resonate strongly. The shipping world does not differentiate between news organizations that invest in journalism and those that publish rumors or nonsense corporate news. More importantly, the industry does not understand the influence media has on setting the agenda or influencing politicians or policy. Those that do invest in new media shy away from journalism and instead invest in the “look at me” culture by spending their cash producing press releases that help them boast about themselves.

(Natural News) For its contributions in spreading Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) lies that led to mass lockdowns, mask mandates, and psychological and physical torture by power-hungry government officials, the German news outlet Bild has issued a formal apology.

The paper put up a video – you can watch it below – specifically addressing the youth of Germany, who have arguably suffered the most from all the tyranny. Bild says it made a mistake by supporting Chinese Virus authoritarianism, which has completely destroyed society.

“To the millions of children in this country for whom our society is responsible, I want to express here what neither our government nor our Chancellor dares to tell you: we ask you to forgive us,” the paper now says.

“Forgive us for this policy which, for a year and a half, has made you victims of violence, neglect, isolation, and loneliness.”

Bild went on to express regret for ever covering any of the government’s fake news about the Fauci Flu, which the paper says was “like poison,” making people feel like they “were a mortal danger to society.”

“You are not a danger to society,” Bild now says. “Don’t believe this lie. It’s up to us to protect you. What happened to our children, many people and Bild denounced it.”

“Nothing happened. Merkel organized a summit for children? No! Instead, we persuaded our children that they were going to murder their grandma if they dared to be what they are: children. Or if they met their friends. None of this has been scientifically proven.”

Since children are unable to fight back and oftentimes do not even know they are being lied to by adults or authority figures they have been taught to trust, many were forced into masks or told they needed to get injected with a Trump Vaccine in order to avoid spreading illness.

This destroyed countless children’s mental health, and many are now traumatized, possibly for life, because of Fauci’s lies.

“It was easy to force that on the children,” Bild says. “They can’t defend themselves and they don’t vote. When a state steals the rights of a child, it must prove that by doing so it protects him against concrete and imminent danger. This proof has never been provided.”

Just about everything that was spread like wildfire over the past year concerning the Wuhan Flu was government-schemed propaganda. And to this day, that propaganda continues to be spread, demonstrating itself to be the true virus.

“It has been replaced by propaganda presenting the child as a vector of the pandemic,” says Bild about the government’s lies, which come in the name of “science.”

These are powerful statements from Bild, and we commend the paper for having the bravery to speak out. You are unlikely to find any similar humility from any American fake news outlets, which have chosen to double down in spreading their plandemic lies.

The latest media schtick, in fact, involves blaming the “unvaccinated” for the sudden “surge” in new cases of the so-called “delta variant,” which the Biden regime says will kill everyone unless there is full compliance with getting a Trump Vaccine.

Twitter Suspends Science Writer After He Posts Results Of Pfizer Clinical Test

Just yesterday, we discussed the censoring of a commentator by Twitter for merely expressing an opinion over the need for a “pause” on any federal mandates on Covid-19 as new research is studied.

Now, a former New York Times science reporter, Alex Berenson, has been suspended for simply quoting the results from a clinical trial by Pfizer and raising questions over any vaccine mandate. In the meantime, the White House accused both the Washington Post and New York Times of irresponsible reporting on Covid, but surprisingly Twitter has not suspended those accounts. It is the license of the censor. Twitter is unwilling to let people read or discuss viewpoints that it disagrees with as a corporation. Many on the left, however, have embraced the concept of corporate speech and censorship. It turns out that the problem with censorship for many was the failure to censor views that they opposed. With the “right” censors at work, the free speech concerns have been set aside.

I have little ability to judge the science on such questions. However, I welcome the debate. Yet, rather than answer such critics and refute their arguments, many people focus on silencing anyone with dissenting viewpoints like Berenson.

Berenson has been effectively confined to Substack by Big Tech due to his discussing dissenting views on the science surrounding Covid-19. His latest offense against Big Tech came when he posted the results published by Pfizer of its own clinical data. He claimed that the research showed little difference in morality between those in the trial with a vaccine and those given a placebo.

In the meantime, the White House sent out an all caps condemnation for “completely irresponsible” reporting on the infliction of vaccinated people according to another study.

Ben Wakana, deputy director of strategic communications and engagement for the White House, blasted the Washington Post over its headline about a study of a COVID-19 outbreak in Provincetown, Massachusetts on July 4th. The Post tweet read “Vaccinated people made up three-quarters of those infected in a massive Massachusetts covid-19 outbreak, pivotal CDC study finds.” Wakana responded “Completely irresponsible,. 3 days ago the CDC made clear that vaccinated individuals represent a VERY SMALL amount of transmission occurring around the country. Virtually all hospitalizations and deaths continue to be among the unvaccinated. Unreal to not put that in context.”

Wakana addressed the same issue with a New York Times tweet stating “Breaking News: The Delta variant is as contagious as chickenpox and may be spread by vaccinated people as easily as the unvaccinated, an internal C.D.C. report said.” That sent Wakana into all caps: “VACCINATED PEOPLE DO NOT TRANSMIT THE VIRUS AT THE SAME RATE AS UNVACCINATED PEOPLE AND IF YOU FAIL TO INCLUDE THAT CONTEXT YOU’RE DOING IT WRONG.”

FDA Extends Shelf Life of Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 Vaccine

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has agreed to extend the shelf life on Johnson & Johnson’s single-shot COVID-19 vaccine from four-and-a-half months to six months.

In a July 28 concurrence letter (pdf), the FDA said Johnson & Johnson had provided sufficient data to support the extension of the company’s vaccine to six months, including for already expired batches, provided they have been stored within the required temperature range of between 36–46 degrees Fahrenheit (2–8 degrees Celsius).

Johnson & Johnson said in a statement that it is “pleased” with the FDA’s decision, adding that the pharmaceutical firm had provided the agency with data from ongoing stability assessment studies that have demonstrated the vaccine remains stable at six months if stored at the required temperature.

Health authorities in a number of states have warned that they may be forced to throw out thousands of doses of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine absent an extension.

The FDA has been reviewing expiration dates on all three COVID-19 vaccines authorized for emergency use in the United States, as manufacturers have continued to test batches for stability following their roll-out. Pfizer and Moderna’s two-dose vaccines have a shelf life of six months.

Johnson & Johnson’s one-and-done vaccine was highly anticipated because it could be stored at relatively high temperatures and so facilitated distribution, particularly in developing countries with patchy cold-storage infrastructure.

“A single-shot vaccine that provides this level of protection represents an important tool in the global fight against COVID-19, as we strive to help end this deadly pandemic,” the company said in a statement.

But use of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine has been hurt by several rare potential side effects.

In April, the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended states temporarily halt using the Johnson & Johnson vaccine out of caution and investigated several women who developed cerebral venous sinus thrombosis along with low blood platelets within two weeks of getting the shot. But a CDC panel later in the month voted to resume usage of vaccine and recommended adding a warning.

Earlier in July, health regulators added a new warning to the vaccine about links to a potentially dangerous neurological reaction called Guillain-Barré syndrome.

In both cases, government health advisers said that the overall benefits of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine outweigh the risks associated with potential side effects.

Up to 1,300 police swarmed Sydney on Saturday and setup a network of roadblocks around the city in a massive show of force to avoid a repeat of last week's violent anti-lockdown protest.

With officers scattered in seemingly every direction across the city, only eight arrests were made - a far cry from the chaotic scenes in the CBD seven days ago.

Police did issue more than 250 Penalty Infringement Notices (PIN) across Sydney, with one man, 45, arrested at a home at Oatley after travelling on trains outside his local government area without a reasonable excuse.

He was taken to Kogarah Police Station and charged after breaching an imposed Public Safety Order (PSO).

In the western suburbs, angry residents saw police helicopters hovering overhead while blaring sirens and broadcasting: 'This is public health order —do not break rules —you will be found and fines issued.'

'This is not the Australia I emigrated to,' a woman from North Parramatta told Daily Mail Australia.

'Cannot believe it. Are they checking we are wearing masks in our gardens? Talk about being treated as suspected criminals.'

The reaction to the heavy police presence provoked a number of fired up comments on Twitter.

One labelled today's events in Sydney an example of 'propaganda', and that police were out in force purely to intimidate residents.

'I'm pro-vaccine and anti-superspreader events but Sydney today was disconcerting,' another wrote.

'Police blocking roads to check ID and ask where I'm going, I just hope we don't get used to these government controls post-Covid.'

Another suggested it was a 'sham job' by the NSW Government and a waste of taxpayers money. A third expressed her concern about ongoing government controls once lockdown finally ends in NSW.

Lines of patrol cars stretching hundreds of metres were pictured parked on Moore Park Road near the Sydney Cricket Ground as early as 7am on Saturday as police prepared for the operation.

A wide exclusion zone was established stretching from Lilyfield in the inner-west, to Milsons Point on the north shore, Edgecliff in the east and Zetland in the south as police stopped anyone entering the city to ask them their reason for travel.

The police operation follows an announcement police would be cracking down on lockdown rule-breakers from Friday with fines lifted to $500 for not wearing a mask and restriction tightened further for eight LGAs in south-west and Western Sydney.

The huge police presence sparked a mixed reactions among the public, with most commending the police effort but some saying it was an over-the-top reaction.

'There's no protest I don't know what they think they are ready for,' one person said.

'Wow! I agree with the lockdown and agree with using extra measures, but this seems a bit extreme,' another said.

'Good on them, backing the police all the way! All the troublemakers from last weekend are back in hiding,' argued a third.

More than 3,500 people attended the demonstration last week, with officials warning Sydneysiders not to turn up again in the lead up to this weekend.

Police established a command centre at Hyde Park in the centre of the city to direct operations - with foot patrols, mounted police officers and patrol cars flooding the CBD.

Authorities had expected a protest after monitoring online activity, but knew the numbers would not be anywhere near as big as the one that shook Sydney on Saturday seven days ago.

Some 60 protesters have been charged and 200 people fined over last Saturday's demonstration.

The American People want, and demand, that the President of the United States, its chief law enforcement officer in the country, stand with them to fight for Election Integrity and to investigate attempts to undermine our nation. It’s hard to actually be surprised by a political narrative these days, but Alexander Downer allegedly being a secret leftist spy is one conspiracy that manages to spark mirth, even as the world is burning.

On the political spectrum, Downer, who holds the titles for Australia’s longest serving foreign affairs minister and shortest serving leader of the country’s main conservative party, sits slightly to the right of Margaret Thatcher.

But a night of drinking at the Kensington Wine Rooms in London in May 2016, with a foreign policy adviser to Donald Trump’s campaign, George Papadopoulos, suddenly had Downer marked as a “spy” and “Clinton errand boy” by Trump supporters, spurred on by Papadopoulos, who claimed Downer had been placed there to help bring him, and Trump, down.

The chief executive of the United States Study Centre in Australia, Simon Jackman, called the leftist spy conspiracy “ridiculous”.

“In the United States, and you see this consistently, from the New York Times and the Washington Post down to Fox News, Alexander Downer is referred to as ‘an Australian diplomat’ – hardly anyone in the United States understands he was a former leader of the conservative party in Australia,” he said.

Maricopa County’s Board of Supervisors oversees the election activities for the county. What they allowed to happen in the primaries in the County is shocking.

WTH – Ballots used in Maricopa County in the 2020 primaries indicated the political party affiliation of the individual voter and the voter’s registration number as well. This appears to be blatant violations of an individual’s privacy and voter protection standards…..
