$5.7 Million In Cocaine Found Smuggled In Boxes Of Yams At Gatwick Airport Near London

Almost $6 million in cocaine was discovered by British authorities at Gatwick Airport, near London, this month. According to the UK’s National Crime Agency, three separate seizures were made, with the first occurring on August 11.

The incoming flights were all from Jamaica. On the first flight, about 22 kilos of the drug were found "in a consignment of vegetables that had come off a flight from Kingston," according to the agency.

A second seizure was made from the same flight one week later on August 18, this time carrying 30 kilos of cocaine.

Finally, a third seizure was made on August 25, again on a flight from Kingston. The cocaine on the third flight amounted to about 3 kilos and was "suspended in a liquid solution".

NCA Branch Commander Mark McCormack commented: "Working with our colleagues at Border Force we are determined to do all we can to stop class A drugs reaching the streets of the UK, where they can cause so much damage. These seizures are an example of that in action, and our investigations are ongoing.

UAE leader signs decree ending boycott of Israel, furthering Trump-mediated deal

The United Arab Emirates has abolished a 1972 law that banned any deals with Israel, paving the way for signing a series of bilateral agreements with the Jewish state.

A decree cancelling the Israel boycott law was signed by UAE President, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported on Saturday. This makes it legal for Emirati subjects, companies and organizations to have relations with counterparts in Israel.

Residents in the UAE will be able to travel to Israel, conduct business with Israeli companies and participate in other engagements.

The decree furthers the normalization agreement signed by the UAE and Israeli earlier this month and announced by the US, which played the role of a mediator. The two nations agreed to establish formal diplomatic relations and establish a framework for bilateral ties.

The development sparked controversy in the Arab world, with some nations like Turkey accusing Abu Dhabi of betraying the Palestinian cause for egoistic gains. The normalization agreement said Israel would put on hold the proposed annexation of occupied Palestinian territories, but Isreali Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu de facto disavowed the provision, saying his government’s plans did not change.

The UAE has had no formal relations with Israel since its creation as a sovereign federacy of seven Arab monarchies in the early 1970s. Sheikh Khalifa, who is also the emir of Abu Dhabi, has served as the Emirati president since 2004, when he replaced his father, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Sexual assault criminal complaint against Jacob Blake emerges in its entirety — and it is horrific

Details of a a highly disturbing criminal complaint against Jacob Blake have emerged.

A Kenosha, Wisconsin, police officer shot Blake in the back at least seven times on Sunday following a call for a domestic dispute. His father told the Chicago Sun-Times that Blake is paralyzed from the waist down.

Blake's shooting only added fuel to the already out-of-control fire lit by the police killing of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and others involved in instances of apparent police brutality.

What are the details?

Blake's ex-girlfriend, identified in the criminal complaint as "LNB," says Blake sexually assaulted her in May.

The criminal complaint states that Blake unlawfully entered her home in the early hours of the morning on May 3. The woman said she awoke from her sleep to find Blake standing in her room, looming over her.

Blake, the 29-year-old father of the woman's three children, reportedly demanded she return his possessions.

"I want my s***," Blake reportedly told the woman, and proceeded to assault her according to the complaint.

"As LNB lay there, on her back, the defendant, suddenly and without warning, reached his hand between her legs, penetrated her vaginally with a finger, pulled it out and sniffed it, and said, 'Smells like you've been with other men,'" the at-times graphic complaint reads.

Following the assault, Blake reportedly stole her vehicle and left the premises.

In the complaint, the woman reports that Blake is unemployed and without a vehicle of his own. Over the eight-year period that the two spent together, Blake reportedly sexually assaulted her at least twice per year during drunken episodes.

Caused 'pain and humiliation'

The officer who took the woman's statement said she had a "very difficult time telling him this and cried as she told how the defendant assaulted her."

The woman said that Blake's assault "caused her pain and humiliation and was done without her consent."

Blake's ex-girlfriend told authorities that she was able to maintain her composure despite the incident, and attempted to follow Blake. When she realized her keys and her vehicle were missing and immediately phoned 911 to report the incident.

Authorities charged Blake in July with felony third-degree sexual assault, misdemeanor trespassing, and disorderly conduct connected to domestic abuse.

Florida Official Arrested for Using Govt Databases to Engage in Child Sex Trafficking

Seminole County, FL — The former Seminole County Tax Collector, Joel Greenberg is facing a slew of charges this month over accusations that he used his position of authority to engage in child sex trafficking. He also faces stalking charges for allegedly using his position to go after political opponents.

Greenberg has been under fire since June when he was arrested on federal stalking charges. He allegedly stalked opponents, and made fake social media accounts in order to start rumors about his political opponent and paint the victim as a white supremacist.

The new allegations, however, are for crimes against children. According to the new federal indictment, Greenberg used fake IDs for individuals he was involved in “sugar daddy relationships” with and to engage in “commercial sex acts.”

This month he was indicted on six new charges for the alleged sex trafficking of an underage girl. According to the indictment Greenberg illegally used a state database to look up information about the girl and other people with whom he was engaged in “sugar daddy” relationships.

At the time of the alleged crimes, ranging from March to November 2017, Greenberg knowingly recruited and solicited a minor to engage in sex acts, according to the indictment. The victim was between 14 and 17 years old, according to the federal indictment.

“We absolutely deny the allegations,” Vincent Citro, Greenberg’s defense attorney said. “The government will not be able to prove its case. We look forward to prevailing at trial.”

However, the evidence against him is pretty damning.

As the Orlando Sentinel reports:

During a search of the home, agents confiscated electronic equipment from the home, including Greenberg’s and his wife’s cell phones and computers, according to court documents.

Inside a backpack that was on a seat in Greenberg’s vehicle belonging to the Tax Collector’s Office, agents found several fake IDs, according to court records. Agents also found materials used to create fake IDs at Greenberg’s office at the Tax Collector’s administrative office in Lake Mary.

Not only is Greenberg accused of using his position of authority to prey on children, he’s also accused of using his position for personal financial gain. An investigation by the Orlando Sentinel discovered that Greenberg doled out $1.9 million in contracts and salaries to close friends, business partners and others to work in the Tax Collector’s Office, including half-a-dozen individuals who were part of his wedding party in mid-2016.

Report: £100 Million of Swedish Taxpayer Cash Went to Radical Islamic Groups

A study has revealed that 49 companies and groups run by Islamic radicals have done businesses with local and national Swedish authorities and have been paid 1.2 billion Swedish kronor (£104,136,000/$137,400,000).

The taxpayer cash has been paid to the groups and companies over the last five years, with some of the people involved in the companies being open radical Salafists while others are said to have been violent Islamic radicals who fought abroad for terrorist groups like the Islamic State.

According to a report from newspaper Aftonbladet, the majority of the cash came from school funding from local municipalities and grants from the Swedish National Agency for Education.

The Sapphire school in Gothenburg, which was shut down due to links to radical Islamic extremists in December of last year, raised the most government cash, along with the parent co-operative Bilaalm based in Norrland.

Terrorism expert Magnus Ranstorp slammed the government for not knowing where taxpayer money was actually going and said that radical Islamic extremists often prioritise schooling.

“Of course there is a purely financial purpose, to make money. Then it’s about the advocacy aspect and about isolating young people from the non-religious community,” he said.

The report is not the first time it has been revealed that Swedish taxpayer money has gone toward radical Islamic extremists.

Last year, the Swedish Security Service (Säpo) reported that radical Islamists were receiving taxpayer cash, but estimated the amounts to be in the millions of kronor and not over a billion.

“To reduce growth in extremist communities, society needs to prevent organisations that contribute to radicalisation from receiving public funds. The state should not fund activities that undermine our democracy by supporting violent extremism,” Johan Olsson, the Operational Manager at Säpo said at the time.

In 2016, it was also reported that Sweden was paying welfare benefits to a Swedish Islamic convert who had travelled to Syria to fight for the Islamic State.

160 Cartel-Connected Human Smuggling Stash Houses Busted in South Texas this Year

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials report the disruption of more than 160 human smuggling stash house operations this fiscal year just in South Texas. The data provides a rare glimpse into the level of Mexican cartel stash house operations occurring in this region alone.

On August 27th, CBP Acting Commissioner Mark Morgan retweeted a video from U.S. Border Patrol Deputy Chief Raul Ortiz showing a recent stash house raid in Laredo, Texas. The tweet also provides detailed stash house data.

In the tweet, CBP reported that in South Texas alone in Fiscal Year 2020, which still has two months left in the year, the agency has already dismantled an astounding 160 stash houses and rescued over 1,600 people.

Stash house data is considered a gold mine by law enforcement officials and is routinely requested and sought after by elected leaders, journalists, and citizens attempting to understand the breadth of scope of smuggling and trafficking by criminal networks along the southwest border. Gaining access to data is often difficult.

The data on stash house operations is important because it indicates the level of cartel logistics occurring inside the U.S. Human smuggling operations are the life blood of the Mexican cartels’ smuggling and trafficking networks at the border. Smugglers along the border use a vast network of halcones, also known as falcons or hawks (lookouts) which extend over twenty miles into the United States in south Texas.

The scouts utilize two-way handheld encrypted radios and encrypted apps on cell phones like Zello. The scouts communicate directly back to Mexican smuggling and trafficking cells that work directly in collaboration with the Mexican cartels.

This network is how hundreds of thousands of pounds of illegal drugs and hundreds of thousands of people are smuggled across the border into the United States every year as they attempt to evade apprehension by law enforcement.

The goal for these criminal networks is to get the product (drugs or humans) across the border and into a stash house as quickly and rapidly as possible in order to evade law enforcement. 1,300 Pounds of Cocaine Seized, 4 Dominican Migrants Busted at Puerto Rico Beach

Border Patrol agents in Puerto Rico and local police intercepts a large load of cocaine and arrested four illegal aliens from the Dominican Republic. The failed smuggling attempt resulted in the seizure of nearly $15 million worth of cocaine.

Border Patrol agents teamed up with the Puerto Rico Police Department Joint Forces for Rapid Action (FURA in Spanish) to interdict a “yola” vessel with four illegal aliens onboard, according to information obtained from Ramey Sector Border Patrol officials. The four Dominican nationals were reportedly attempting to smuggle drugs onto the beach near Rincon, Puerto Rico.

The Ramey Station Border Patrol agents detected the yolo vessel running without lights on Thursday. The boat appeared to be located about six nautical miles west of Rincon, officials reported. Agents requested assistance from a FURA marine unit with intercepted the 20-foot fiberglass homemade boat and found four people on board along with a load of drugs.

The FURA marine unit brought the boat to shore where Border Patrol agents met them at the Añasco pier where they interviewed the four migrants. The agents identified the four adult males as citizens of the Dominican Republic who were attempting to enter the United States illegally.

Officials identified the drugs as testing positive for cocaine. The 1,303 pounds of cocaine is worth an estimated $14.8 million, officials reported.

The agents turned the drugs and the four illegal aliens over to ICE Homeland Security Investigations special agents for further investigation and processing of drug smuggling charges.

The FURA team is funded on these types of operations by the Operation Stonegarden Grant Program (OPSG). The program helps with cooperation and coordination between federal and local, tribal, state law enforcement agencies, Border Patrol officials stated.

“We will continue to disrupt and apprehend smugglers that attempt to smuggle people and narcotics across our borders,” Xavier Morales, Chief Patrol Agent for the Ramey Sector, said in a written statement. “Having a dedicated workforce partner up with other professionals dedicated to the border security mission is the key to success. Great job by all.”

H2O Freezes Funds as French Watchdog Scrutinizes Windhorst Deal

H2O Asset Management has frozen several of its funds after the French financial regulator raised concerns about the valuation of illiquid assets being sold to an investment vehicle owned by German financier Lars Windhorst. France’s AMF flagged “valuation uncertainties” because of the significant exposure of three H2O’s funds to “private securities,” leading the asset manager to suspend those funds and five others. That followed an agreement to sell all of the holdings to Evergreen Funding, a new company owned by Windhorst’s trust.

The open-end funds that are frozen include the Allegro, MultiBonds, MultiStrategies and Adagio strategies, according to a statement from H2O.

Windhorst declined to comment. A representative for the French regulator said AMF had nothing more to add beyond Friday’s statement. H2O’s fund investments included debt and stock issued by companies tied to Windhorst, such as Italian lingerie brand La Perla and oil explorer Trent Petroleum. Many of the assets suffered a battering as the coronavirus pandemic took hold in March, with bets on oil and Italian bonds suffering some of the steepest losses. In May, H2O agreed to sell the illiquid securities back to Windhorst, allowing it to unwind positions that had prompted concerns about its risk controls. The transaction is taking place in several tranches and will be completed late September, according to a person familiar with the matter. Knapp and Marseille took up about 40% of a 1.25 billion euro high-yield bond issued by Evergreen to buy back the portfolio, according to people familiar with the matter and a presentation seen by Bloomberg News. Knapp, Marseille and a third unidentified investor bought about half of the notes, people said. Windhorst himself invested about 400 million euros in his own bonds and a few outside investors took the rest, the people added. The German financier has recently held talks with other potential investors about taking part in the raise, some of the people said.

Evergreen in June issued a 1.25 billion euro one-year bond paying a yield of 12.5%, designed to buy back securities with a nominal value of over 2 billion euros at a 50% discount, Bloomberg News reported Friday. The deal would yield a profit of more than 1 billion euros for Windhorst’s Evergreen, the people said. Knapp, 67, owns German fashion retail chain New Yorker which boasts more than 1,100 stores and 18,000 employees. Marseille made a fortune in sanatoriums, rehab and other specialized clinics.

Report: Paedophiles on Twitter and Instagram Using Cheese and Pizza Emojis to Share Images

A London-based group of over 100 parents have begun campaigning to have social media sites like Instagram and Twitter remove the accounts of paedophiles who are reportedly using cheese and pizza emojis as code to share images.

The group — operating under the moniker PDProtect — warned that paedophiles are taking and sharing seemingly innocent pictures of children uploaded by parents in order to pass them around to predators on social media.

A 27-year-old mother from London who founded the project, referred to only as India, told The Telegraph: “I couldn’t just scroll past it as at the end of the day these are people’s children.

“There are pictures of little boys aged five or six on the beach in their swimming trunks and chances are that picture was taken by their parents on their holiday. Somehow that picture has gotten into their hands,” she explained.

India said that she has been in talks with Instagram over the issue, noting that many of the accounts her team flagged were using cheese and pizza emojis together as code for ‘CP’ — child pornography.

An online child protection expert and former member of the British government’s Council for Internet Safety, John Carr OBE, said that the “horrifying” practise needs to be stamped out by tech companies.

“It is understandable that parents want to share pictures of their children with friends and relatives, but if their social media accounts are not private these photos can be seen — and taken — by anyone,” Carr warned.

“This is about parents not thinking because they are not aware that these bad guys are out there doing this,” he added.

In response to the revelations, the Head of Safety at Instagram told The Telegraph: “Any content that endangers children is abhorrent and we’re committed to doing everything we can to keep it off our apps.”

“We remove accounts that share or solicit this type of content and report them to the police. We also use technology that’s constantly improving to find and remove known child exploitation imagery,” she claimed.

“We’ve been working with India to investigate and remove the accounts she’s identified and we’re grateful for her help,” she went on to say.

A spokesman for Twitter added: “Twitter has a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual exploitation content. We aggressively fight online child sexual abuse and have heavily invested in technology and tools to enforce our policy.

“Our dedicated teams work to stay ahead of bad-faith actors and to ensure we’re doing everything we can to remove content, facilitate investigations, and protect minors from harm — both on and offline,” Twitter said.

21 Police Injured After 200 Migrants Riot in Spanish City

At least 33 migrants housed in a temporary reception centre in the Spanish city of Melilla were arrested after a riot broke out that led to 21 police officers becoming injured.

The riot came after a second day of protests by migrants over positive cases of the Chinese coronavirus among some of the reception centre’s residents.

At least 200 migrants took part in the rioting, with the angry mob assaulting Spanish police officers by throwing rocks. At least two migrants were also injured during the violence, La Voz de Galicia reports.
