Qresearch is a 24/7 beehive of activity where anons post their diggs, memes and prayers.

For this to happen requires ''bakers''–which is why they have been called "the core of this board."

Bakers perform several key functions:

* Bake breads (transition the board from one thread to the next).

* Knead the dough (keeping the resource pages clean, tidy, and up-to-date).

Baker does best to keep multiple utilities up while baking in case of errors for validation and confirmation and glitches like crashes.

1. How to accept and make a handoff

Same idea as pilots handing off control of an airplane.

Incomplete or unclear handoffs mean nobody knows who's bakin

You can easily see how they work by looking at the breads. Or use class resources, see below.

 

This is stuff you can pick up just by watching the breads so you're familiar when doing it yourself.

2. How to verify "who" you are when offering to bake

Why verify? To discourage shills from baking.

Bakers can used either pastebin.com or qanon.bin to show past bakes.

Q-bin advantage: generates an id (based on IP) and dynamic timestamp. See CAPP.

 

But the first time you bake, you won't have any past bakes. What to do?

''One way: post practice bakes from /comms/, see CAPP.

Second way: work with a baker while practicing & arrange w/baker to go LIVE (mebbe w/support)

Third way: Bite the bullet and tell handing-off baker it's your first bake (he may wanna stick around or decide hand off to a moar experienced baker if bread is wonky, Q is posting, or shills are makin' mischief)

 

New bakers sometimes complain they can't get any 'bake time' wo/previous bakes.

But that's sometimes coz they wanna jump in too quick wo/a track record.

Gotta realize trust is earned - don't try to fake it. We work as a team both with each other and w/anons.

3. How to format Notables page

This is about the way the notable buns appear on the page; how they are 'packaged'.

Aggregators have set up their algorithms based on standardized formatting

So extra spaces, reversed positioning of bread numbers and links, and other 'elegant variations' cause problems.

 

New bakers often underestimate the importance of getting the formatting right. While there's room for variation in baking style, this ain't the place to show your individuality, kek.

4. What to do if bread "hangs" (which it usually does)

In practice bakes in /comms/, when baker hits "Create a thread," a new thread instantly appears.

On /qr/, that seldom happens. It takes longer (30-60 seconds) and has to be accessed via the catalog or index.

Solution: WAIT for it to appear - don't make another thread.

 

MP4 demonstrates the lag in real time for an actual /qr/ bake.

(Not part of our usual baking steps as far as i know, but useful for new bakers to see - coz there's no way to duplicate this "bread hanging" experience in /comms/)

5. What to do if you screw up the bread number

DO use "Report" to ask BO/BVs to correct the bread number.

DO NOT bake a second bread. (please….kek)

6. How to ghost a bread & pick up a ghost

Ghosting a bread means leaving the kitchen bakerless.

Happens often during gy; try to avoid in shifts when Q is likely to post

If you can't avoid ghosting, announce it WELL IN ADVANCE.

Key thing: when you ghost or pick up a ghost, always TAG THE DOUGH POST

 

CAPP shows a baker ghosting, second baker picking up, second baker ghosting, and third baker picking up.

This went pretty smoothly - no problem, even tho it was late night to early morning.

Sure helps me to have a tab open and ready with the addy for the index. I hit the catalog to start the new thread, but having ability to g to other tab and just hit enter to bring up the index helps when the catalog is lagging

Second: Shift your focus to the bottom of the bread.

(If Q is posting fast, stop collecting notes - just focus on Q posts.)

Third: When posting Q drops, use the same format as you see on page one of the doh - making sure to copy-paste the formatting lines

Fourth: Bake REALLY EARLY unless it's graveyard (@600 - 640), don't worry too much about FRESH link

 

New bakers often takes shifts where Q isn't likely to post (early am or late nites). Or if Q does post, the bread's still slow enough for new baker to handle the extra work.

Doc, feel bad for your tiredness after your late night helping me out. I'm really thankful for it, don't think I blinked once in 5 hours and was completely fried so appreciate it more than I can say.

Sorry you were tired though. In hindsight I shoulda said I'd take it back when you said you were good for one, but didn't compute you'd said that until looking back today - the bread was still open on the baking machine and I saw it just there. BAKING FROM THE INDEX

For General thread baking purposes The Catalog is mostly unreliable.

It can take from 60 - 180 seconds for a new bread to show up there once baked and possibly a lot longer.

For General threads baking purposes this is far too long to wait and causes unecessary stress.

New threads show up however in the Index immediately, so here's a recipe for zero baking delays using the Index.

 

  • Post the thread as normal (from the Catalog is fine)

  • Immediately open up the Index in another tab - https://8kun.top/qresearch/index.html

  • Having it bookmarked and at hand means you can do this super-fast

  • Hit Ctrl F (search for text on page) and copy/paste or type your new thread number into the search box

  • You can also search for one or two consecutive words from your bread title

  • This saves you having to scroll through the Index to find your new thread

  • If your thread isn't found, immediately refresh the Index page and try again. You'll find it.

  • Click on 'reply' to the thread to open up your new thread

  • Post the rest of the dough as normal

  • Happy days

 

This method rocks because -

  • It cuts down on baking stress

  • Threads can be baked super-quickly

  • It beats bread-shitters (you've baked the thread before it appears in the Catalog)

  • It helps prevent double bakes when bakers post another thread thinking their first one didn't post

  • Baking completely from the Index is exactly the same as above, just 'Create New Thread' from the top of the Index page

Was actually thinking to myself "This is the way to go", especially since I get to breds almost exclusively through the index.
