For this to happen requires ''bakers''–which is why they have been called "the core of this board."

Bakers perform several key functions:

Baking FAQs

Version 1.6

For step-by-step baking instructions, see page one of current baking seminar dough; baking section of /qresearch/ dough will also have a link. Link to Class #15: 14290

TWO MOST IMPORTANT FAQs:

  1. There is no baking mistake that can't be fixed. 2. Never panic, never tap.

 

Generally

What hardware/software is needed in order to bake?

Laptop or desktop (phonefagging hard for newbies & tablets lack power). The bigger the screen, the better. Text editor like Notepad++ (for PCs) or Atom (for Macs).

What other skills are good for a baker?

Patience, persistence, high tolerance for criticism, ability to say no to shills. Good enough typing to more or less keep up the pace.

What shift is good for a new baker?

A slow shift like late night to early morning (also, Q seldom posts then). If you take a faster shift, just tell anons you're new and you'll get support.

Bakers Tools

This is an independent tool that anyone can use, but you don't need it to bake.

Baking in TOR

TOR doesn't allow images but does allow embedded YT vids; use for General (Iwo Jima) image. There's usually a TOR vid in "Baking" section of the /qresearch/ dough.

Don't change previous baker's notables

Possible exceptions: bad links, spelling errors, when they give specific permission.

Baking everyday vs every so often

Whether you can bake a little or a lot, help is always welcome in the kitchen.

How to reduce baking stress

Practice first, develop routines, be prepared, stay calm, don't fixate on mistakes.

 

The Dough

The dough = first 4-5 posts/pages in each bread. Each post in one document separated by /////BREAK\\\ markers.

Organization

post 1 - Q posts, post 2 - Notables, post 3 - War Room, post 4 - QPosts Archives. Notables page can be broken into two pages on the fly if notable buns are long (even tho there's no BREAK marker).

Dough problems & change requests

New bakers sometimes inherit a funny-looking dough or are asked by anons to make dough changes. If you're not sure what to do, say so and defer to next baker. Often, bakers in the thread will jump in to help.

 

Practice Baking

You can practice bake in /comms/, established in 2018 by BO Rusty. After getting down the basic steps, try shadow baking (following a real bake to get the timing down).

Green text

In /comms/ practice bakes using Q Research doughs, links don't work and text is green.

Q&A & getting feedback

Practice bakers can ask q's by posting in the baking seminar thread or baker's Meta thread in /comms/.

 

Pastebin.com

What is pastebin.com?

An app/site that stores the dough so bakers can transfer it to next baker.

Do I need an account to use pastebin.com?

No, anyone can use it as a GUEST. You can also (optionally) add a pastebin name to identify your acct to anons.

How to make a new pastebin

Copy entire dough from text editor, upload to pastebin.com, select New Paste, paste in dough, select Create New Paste at bottom. See step-by-step instructions for more.

 

Notables

How to tell what is notable?

A few ideas: look for anon noms, Q decodes, POTUS tweets/retweets, planefag/boatfag reports, relevant news items (for breaking news, check qresear.ch to avoid dups).

Usually, memes are not notabled. Unsauced tweets & articles must be sauced first (quality matters).

How to format notables list?

Formats vary, but best to use bold orred text. Examples: 'Early notables', 'Notables @200', 'Notables #11956 @300'. ''Always link to dough post if ghosting after posting''.

How often do you post notables?

Often enough to give anons multiple chances to have their say about notable selection, some ideas:

* 200, 400, 600 (plus a FINAL) or * 250, 500, Last Call around 640 (plus a FINAL).

If you take the bake late: Post notes as soon as you catch up or by @600 at the latest (so anons know you're still there).

Max number of breads in Previously Collected Notables?

4 - 5 lines. To make room, just delete the bottom line(s).

Timing Issues

What do I do after accepting the handoff?

Most bakers start by finding/copying pastebin (check Dough post first); prepping Create a Thread; and doing a quick dough check to make sure everything is ok. Then start collecting notables. Later, bakers will need to check bread title (update?), check notables page (more room needed?), and transfer notables from text editor to dough.

When to post a final notables list?

Depends on bread speed but usually around 680 - 710.

How to keep up with notables during fast breads?

Depends how fast. When Q posts, priority is on grabbing Q drops, not notes. During fast non-Q breads, focus on skimming off the 'cream' and leaving the rest. Always try to include noms but only if they're high quality (from anons not shills). Practice makes perfect.

How long does a New Thread take to show up after I select Create a Thread?

30 - 60 seconds unless there's a severe lag. If lag is bad, let anons know and ask them to wait for new thread.

 

Handoffs & Baker Comms

Good /comms/ are critical for well-baked breads, so need to be clear & easy to find.

Showing baker or note-taker changes

Easy to forget but useful to showing who's responsible for which notables. Insert "baker change" or "note-taker" at the point when the change occurs when recording notables.

Handoffs: call-and-response protocol

Baker announces he seeks handoff; available baker(s) announce they can bake; baker usually takes the first in line.

Example: B1:baker seeks handoff', B2:can bake, B1:handoff confirmed?, B2:confirmed, bread is mine

When shill activity is high, baker may be asked to produce a recent pastebin or other proof that he's legit.

Ghost bake protocols - ALWAYS TAG THE DOUGH POST!

When baker can't get a replacement, he may have to ghost the bread (leave it bakerless).

Example: B1:baker seeks handoff; will ghost @100, [no response], B1:baker leaving the kitchenghost bake

When another baker picks up the ghost:baker assuming responsibility.

Don't forget to TAG THE DOUGH POST so bakers arriving after @600 will know there's a baker (avoids dup bakes).

When there is more than one baker per bread

Two things to note:

  1. Ordering of notables (can be more or less "top to bottom" or "bottom to top"): Either use the same order as first baker or change his to match yours; try not to mix them.

  2. Use "baker change" to separate your work from first baker's. Don't treat first baker's notables like suggestions, respect them as if they are PB notables.

 

Making Reports and Global Reports

To report to BO/BVs, find little triangle on upper left of each post, select it, then use menu.

Use Report to ask BO to make bread changes that bakers can't make, e.g. changing a wrong bread number. You may need to do it more than once (or twice).

Use Global Reports for child porn (CP) or other illegal material. Someone is on-duty 24 hours.

Duplicate bakes

Use Report to ask for moldy bread to be locked and provide a link to 'good' bread.

 

Baking

To bake each page….

Divide bread into 4 posts by looking for /////BREAK\\\ markers. (For two-page notables, do it on-the-fly for page 2).

How to bake when the Catalog is down?

Use the Index (8kun.top/qresearch/index.html). You can Create a Thread there. Afterwards, locate your new thread this way: go past the pinned threads and the old thread; the new one is usually right after it. To "enter" that thread, click on the OP post number. (Allow at least 30 secs for new thread to appear.)

 

Baking Error Messages

Body too long

Happens when there are too many characters per post (maybe 5000) or too many lines (maybe 200). This seems to vary but gives you an idea).

Flood detected

Happens if you already posted same exact text (most common–if so, add a space somewhere). Can also happen during DDOS or when too many anons post at once.

Server took too long

Usual server response for /qresearch/ bakes (95% of bakes). Solution: WAIT AT LEAST 30-60 secs, then check the Catalog (should post despite the message).

Can be confusing for first-time bakers because this lag doesn't happen in /comms/.

Common Mistakes

Don't be afraid to make mistakes - all bakers make 'em (get used to it newbies!). Easy-to-make mistakes:

* Incomplete copypasta (not grabbing ALL the dough when baking for each post, so that top or bottom isn't there)

* Screwing up content or formatting for bread title (use Report to have BO/BVs correct).

* Not tagging the dough post in comms like handoffs, picking up a ghost bake or posting notes in a ghost bake

* Forgetting to use BOLD andred textfor handoffs, Notables posts, and other important comms

* Confusing "Create a Thread" in the Catalog with "Post a Reply" within a bread. (Avoid this by putting Create a Thread tab far away from tab with current bread.)

* Accidentally pressing Create a Thread before end of bread

(Solution: report premature thread to BO/BVs, post a link back to real bread, post an alert & apology to anons, then forget it & return to bake).

* Dough errors (Solution: generate new dough & post pastebin link in the bread. First-time bakers: just leave a message for next baker on the problem.)

 

Q Bakes & Other Fast Breads

Generally: When Q posts, drop everything and get to bottom of bread to pick up Q drops and put them in the dough. Pick up notes from there if you can. Bake EARLY - @630 is not uncommon.

Formatting Q drops & LINES

Check existing Q drops to see formatting; copy-pasta the LINES, don't try to do them yourself.

Cap for baker

Anons will usually post them for you. Search with F3 on the link or 'cap for baker'.

POTUS rally breads

These can be pretty speedy; bake early so anons have a place to post rally comments.

 

Dealing with Shills

Shills want a bread full of squabbling anons so that anons withdraw and good digs are overlooked. Just the presence of a baker deters them.

Telling anons from shills

Baker: "you can tell when a reasonable accommodation does not mollify." Posters who kvetch no matter what are shills, not anons.

Responding to shill tactics

Shills always test bakers, pressuring them on notables, dough changes, etc. If being reasonable does not work (see above), make a decision and stand firm with it.

Common shill tactics for screwing with bakers

Purposely leaving out dates on moldy notables; nomming a list of notables at end of bred; nomming hard-to-evaluate Q decodes w/no main point or title; including no sauce or crap sauce; burying bad stuff in the middle of a post (muh joos, etc), moaning about pb notables/asking for changes.

Anons do some of these things too but shills are more obvious about it.

Ways to respond when you're sure it's a shill:

* Generic shilling/spam: Generally ignore.

* When shills demand something: Respond calmly, with humor and facts, try funny memes to diffuse an attack (Left still can't meme).

Memes also tend to end the conversation. See Baker Tips for examples of how to outlaugh a shill.

* For a personal attack targeting you: If it's major, don't take that shit, fight back, it's war. Make the shill POS sorry he ever took you on with a powerful and meticulously documented, fact-based counterattack. Screencap the evidence. Remember, revenge is a dish best served cold.

Not a whole bunch is different from what I can see… I last baked around bread number 2200 or so. That was when CM and the BV were verifying the IP hash and shit due to shitposting turboniggers like AFLB

 

A few things are different… such as the notable updates mid bread. We were not doing those way back when.

Tonight we've planned a discussion around 'Q Bakes', and how we handle different baking situations when Q's in the house.

I've made a few slides and we can have a QnA, so feel free to ask any questions.

Our regualr bakers are usually here (dropping in when they can), and we usually have plenty of answers which give a wide range of advice and perspectives.

 

For those here wanting to refresh or learn to bake, although we're not doing a practical tonight, I'll post the materials so you can go over them, make a loaf if you like here in the practice kitchen, and ask any questions in here.

 

The class is always relaxed and informal, so please ask what you want to know and we'll be more than happy to help you.

I drew the short straw and have spent the past 2 1/2 years running QAnon News group on Facebook. I harvest the notables from each bread to take our movement to the place where it is needed most. Fucking facebook is the goddamn toilet of the internet… they fucking need jesus.

Basically the max for one post is approx 4800 characters, so it's difficult to judge.

Rule of the thumb is 3 batches of notables.

There's a good work around Doc invented, where you post 2 batches in one post, then post the rest below it in another post.

Works great if you're caught short. Or long.

I actually tried to use those, however I'm a phonefag and maybe messes up in my copy. I think I got that part now just looking into using the pastbin and faster creation to avoid shitters as best I can. Already got great help from the posts here I will drop some practice bread in comms later. Felt good to contribute and 2 Q posts. Had a combat high even though I rekt the kitchen.

AMong the questions I had for refreshment of baking skills is whether there's any difference in new thread creation and posting on 8kun vs the process on 8chan?

Same process OG anon. No difference.

Firefox is good and tor a lot slower, but also works well.

With tor you have to have good timing as the posts can take much longer to post. There's also a change with tor in that you can't post images on tor in 8kun atm.

As such we've to use a video. You can always find it at the very bottom of the dough, under the 'Learn to bake' heading.

Us baker's often switch to tor when the board gets rough, just incase clearnet goes down.

 

You can always post a thread here in /comms/ to see how it goes. Post as many here as you like, from the catalog, and 'post new thread'.

Yes Teach… I prefer Firefox but have Tor for the occasions when it is needed.

 

I was aware of the posting issue which is why I asked which works best… and not sure what remediation had been done since we first went live on the kun.

Worst part is the copy markers. Those damn things will jump and select the whole bin over n over. 80% of my battle was thumb selecting my pasta. Still as bad as it was felt good to contribute more than wise ass comments n digs for once. Really appreciate whoever stepped up to bail me out. sounds like you were having problems with horizontal scrolling. i noticed that i can't scroll down vertically using "page down" button. backstory on that, when FJ said bakers should start migrating back i couldn't get on kun, found my way to end chan, he roughed me up a bit till i told him FJ said bakers should come home, he got me back into the habit of note taking again, salty but helpful, when I started baking he would post WR stuff and I notabled, but only because we had a WR on in the dough and memes are a big part of what we do, he just went too far from there, we did have an accord that he was not baking or messing in the dough and his stuff could go into notables, we'll see how that goes, he's funny but I'm firm, never gave it to him, won't either

this said, I just beta tested this bin today and it's kinks got worked out, we think, always have a dough in your editor to use in case, i beta tested it yesterday, lost the notables due to glitch at end of bread and had to scramble to get the bake through, do you hear me, be prepared for those 4 pages and 2-3 min bake

i used the regular version bc it goes thru vanwa and yields a "secure" connection which the other approach does not (as least not for me). Vanwa prolly makes it secure by adding an extra step (Vanwa servers) but potentially that step becomes a hurdle. But just worked perfectly for me twice (2 bakes) and for newsbaker (for verification).

You have sort of requested baking relief (it seemed at least) earlier and I formally announced in red texti will bakeor something like that. Didn't go thru the whole protocols because i figured you didn't have that down yet. The red text was designed to catch your eye so you would know i definitely assumed the bake. One reason i did it was because i had to correct the pastebin twice (once for you (the double spacing) and once for me–there was a link mistake). Easier to just bake the next bread and post clean pastebin.

i asked for notable help for first 200 posts after doing cleanup from pb. Worked well coz i just picked up and went forward while anon (turned out, two anons) went back for earlier posts.

 

Dealing with baking and cleanup at the same time is hard, espec for me bc i'm just not fast on cleanup. Reqs concentration - and it's hard to concentrate when you know there's new posts pouring in. Some oldfags are great at cleanup, i just plug along.

The worst real disasters were when we had WR fags baking dup breds (at least i think it was them but sure), BO not deleting old dup breads, and Q showing up and posting in old (and maybe new 'bad' dup breds) all on the same morning. It's not just notables - it's the tension surrounding the bake too. When i was younger, would have been purely psychological. But now it shows up in the body as well. Baking is hard work, we need to take care of ourselves in order to bake over time.

For some reason, i found the whole idea of pastebin quite confusing at first. Function of pastebin is to to enable bakers to transfer the dough right?

So when u bake, at the start of a bread, you find the pastebin link and put it in your browser to view the old dough.

Then convert that dough into something you can edit or download using either "Raw" or "Clone" - true whether you do the work (mostly collecting notables) within pastebin/qanonbin (etc) or in notepad.

 

When you bake, the last step is to copy paste the entire dough into pastebin - using 'new Paste'. Where it will sit until next baker accesses it.

 

Only other thing you do sometim during the bake is to make room for new notables (otherwise, the notables post would become longer and longer). See steps 3a and 3b of baking instructions for a demo:

When i said "the only thing you do sometime during the bake," i was referring to "doing something" with the dough.

 

Most of the time, bakers just chase notables - until the notables bun gets fat and they have to consolidate the old notables to make room for new ones.

Consolidating = deleting the a bread's notables and just leaving the link and bread number. The vids and slides make it clearer how this happens.

Also, the goal is to keep as much as possible while avoid "body too long". So you could probably keep one more bun and still be ok. If not, then you could use two pages for notables - very common now.

Some ideas for keeping buns moderate size:

  • don't try to get every single potential notable if there's a lot of stuff going on

  • each baker has different way of prioritizing but some ideas:

  • ask anons to nom (then gives noms priority unless weird)

  • ask anons for brief descriptions (espec for anon analyses/charts) do not try to figure them out, total time waster - if they are really good, anons will usually nom

  • if there's lotsa news, give US and most relevant countries first priority (newsfag anon will bring you stuff from all over - it's ok but he can post two dozen items per bread sometimes, not all of it has to go in)

  • if not sure, ask anons "in or out?"

  • post LAST CALL early even at 600 when new - if feedback comes too late in bread, defer to next bred (happens a lot, can't be helped, shills do on purpose)

 

Having said this, i tend to notable more rather than less - but not as much as i used to. Often wait for noms on anything that isn't obvious notable material if bread is fast or i pick up the bake late (after 400). Anons know when you pick up late that bun will be kind of light - that's when i DEFINITELY ask for noms.

I try to note everything that looks relevant, well-written and has sauce, and I think it's also good for anons and other consumers of notables to have some info about what's going on in the rest of the world.

there are many thousands of people looking at our notables every day and I like for them to be high quality.

also I always see more stuff that I think is notable than what anons nom.

this is a good tip though, I should probably do this more.

 

and of course when you pick up a late bake that's different, it's totally fine to leave the bun blank and ask anons to help collect last bread's notables while you bake the current bread. I actually prefer this over only having time to grab a few notes and calling it a day.

Hey guys noob here. I have made mistakes in my bakes and it seems shills are using those mistakes to discredit the hardworking bakers. I think it is best for me to be an emergency or backup because I can not correct or see mistakes very well on my tiny screen. It sucks because I really want to help. I did this morning 12423 as the catalog was jacked and shills seized the opportunity to attack bakers. It didn't help I messed up the GMT post. GMT anon called me out which fed the shills. I have no problem being called out, but I do have a problem being responsible for any division or discredit to you guys. If I get a PC I'll try to go full time. I served 12 years mil and I know duty sucks with a small staff. You all are the backbone of comms and I 100% respect and appreciate you all. There are lots of things you can do to help, just for one example, drawing shill fire away from bakers especially if they are newer.

The GMT thing is not your fault, a previous baker had edited that section to save space in the dough, which I think is necessary.. but seems like that needs a bit more work.

He certainly did, that that was ON HIM, not your. That's why I called him out and told him to leave alone a new baker. And said to you to make either choice (did what he asked or not) - because i knew bakers would either accept it or revert the dough later. No problem either way.

Oldfag anons like GMT anon know - or ought to know - that new bakers are not in a position to deal with stuff like this. Kitch works as a team - with anything complex, experienced bakers always step into help. I could not have handled that situation, either, no when i was new.

 

If you decide to bake again, pick a name so we'll know it's you - like NOOB or whatever (just an idea, you don't have to). So we can offer support while you are learning. Whether on a phone or PC, it takes a while to learn the ropes. You just got thrown into the deep end of the pool too quick.

You need to understand that archive websites on save the thumbnails of the pics.

When no one archived the full sized pics, those will get lost.

I'm not sure why you get that message yourself, media.8ch.net seems to be part of vanwanet (DDoS protection).

 

I can't save every single full sized image, because i can only do as much as 6 archives per minute. Archiving every single pic of every thread isn't possible for 1 single IP address.
