Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

Section consolidates sections 1 and 2 of title 18, U.S.C., 1940 ed.

 

The language referring to collection of the fine was omitted as obsolete and repugnant to the more humane policy of modern law which does not impose criminal consequences on the innocent.

 

The words "every person so convicted of treason" were omitted as redundant.

 

Minor change was made in phraseology.

 

Amendments

1994—Pub. L. 103–322 inserted "under this title but" before "not less than $10,000".

§2386. Registration of Certain Organizations

(A) For the purposes of this section:

 

 

"Attorney General" means the Attorney General of the United States;

An organization is "subject to foreign control" if:

GOP Lawmakers Target the Chinese Communist Party’s Political Warfare Operations in U.S.

 

Three Republican lawmakers who serve on the House Republican Study Committee are targeting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s political warfare operations in the United States in a new bill, Breitbart News has exclusively learned.

 

Reps. Jim Banks (IN), Mike Johnson (LA), and Joe Wilson (SC) on Thursday morning introduced the Countering Chinese Propaganda Act, which would sanction the United Front Work Department, the CCP’s political warfare arm, and cripple its current operations inside the U.S.

 

The United Front coordinates the CCP’s political warfare operations not only inside China, but overseas to include state-run news media outlets, Chinese propaganda appearing as inserts in American newspapers, and the spreading of Chinese propaganda via American think-tanks, universities, businesses, and other institutions.

 

This week, Chinese President and CCP General Secretary Xi Jinping issued “instructions” at a United Front conference to strengthen its efforts.

 

Placing sanctions on the United Front would prevent it from being able to access the U.S. financial system, and block its members from receiving visas to travel to the U.S. and openly work to undermine U.S. national security.

 

“This is the whole ball game,” said a senior Republican staffer.

 

According to Banks’s office, the United Front has led aggressive campaigns of subversion and espionage especially on U.S. college campuses through the Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) and Chinese-language centers called Confucius Institutes, and has also funded a number of think-tanks in D.C., and co-opted business leaders to squash criticism of China.

 

“The Chinese Communist Party’s disinformation campaign targets our classrooms, our news outlets, our social media platforms—they even want to our rewrite our Bibles to include ‘socialist characteristics,'” Banks said in a statement. “The CCP has taken advantage of our open society for far too long. We need to fight back.”

 

Johnson said in a statement there are currently over a hundred United Front organizations that openly operate in the United States.

 

“Our nation’s greatest threat, the Chinese Communist Party, has a weapon on U.S. soil. This weapon is not just active, but it has over 100 affiliated organizations in our nation today–the United Front,” he said.

AstraZeneca dismissed press reports earlier this month suggesting the woman’s condition had been “confirmed”, however the company’s own internal report – known as a “Suspected or Unexpected Serious Adverse Reaction report” or SUSAR – describes the diagnosis as “confirmed” on two occasions.

 

The “case narrative” recounted in the internal report notes that the British volunteer had seen a neurologist and had no prior neurological disorders, but said there was “limited information concerning the subject's relevant medical history.” However, less than a week after developing symptoms, the woman began to make a speedy recovery.

 

“The resolution of her symptoms is quite rapid considering her illness started only four days ago,” the report observes, adding “Her symptoms were improving. Her strength and dexterity in her hands was getting better.”

 

To date, no other trial participants have experienced similar adverse reactions.

Early this month, Princeton President Christopher Eisgruber went through the woke “anti-racist” rite of confession: he published a letter confessing the ongoing racism at his university under his leadership. Such confessions serve to prop up the ridiculous claim that any racial disparities are ipso facto proof of “institutional racism.” Claims like Eisgruber’s are less a confession of actual fact and more a rhetorical weapon to push Marxist critical race theory.

 

Yet the Department of Education (DOE) decided to call Princeton’s bluff. According to a letter obtained by The Washington Examiner, the DOE launched an investigation into the Ivy League university. Princeton, like other schools that receive federal funding, pledges to abide by certain federal laws in order to receive federal funding.

 

Since Eisgruber became president in 2013, Princeton has received more than $75 million in federal Title IV taxpayer funds and the school “has repeatedly represented and warranted to the U.S. Department of Education Princeton’s compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964,” the letter reads. “Title VI provides no person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”

 

“On September 2, 2020, you admitted Princeton’s educational program is and for decades has been racist,” the letter notes. “Among other things, you said ‘[r]acism and the damage it does to people of color persist at Princeton …’ and ‘[r]acist assumptions…remain embedded in structures of the University itself.'”

 

“Because of racism, you announced race-based ‘diversity’ measures for hiring, procurement, teaching, fellowship, and research funding,” the letter adds.

 

“Based on its admitted racism, the U.S. Department of Education ic concerned Princeton’s nondiscrimination and equal opportunity assurances in its Program Participation Agreements from at least 2013 to the present may have been false,” the letter explains. “Finally, the Department is further concerned Princeton’s many nondiscrimination and equal opportunity claims to students, parents, and consumers in the market for education certificates may have been false, misleading, and actionable substantial misrepresentations in violation of” U.S. law.

 

Therefore, the DOE is opening an investigation into Princeton and may end up removing funds from the university — and demanding Princeton pay back taxpayer funds it should not have received. “Based on the facts, the Secretary of Education may consider measures against Princeton for false Program Participation Agreement nondiscrimination assurances, including an action to recover funds.”

Former CIA Director John Brennan opened up about various inquiries into the Russia investigation during an appearance Thursday on MSNBC. Twelve Christians have been brutally executed by the Islamic State, including the 12-year-old son of a Syrian ministry team leader who had planted nine churches, because they refused to renounce the name of Jesus Christ and embrace Islam. The martyrs were faithful to the very end; right before one woman was beheaded by the terror group, she appeared to be smiling slightly as she said, "Jesus!"

 

According to Christian Aid Mission, a humanitarian group which assists indigenous Christian workers in their native countries, the horrific murders took place on August 28 in an unnamed village outside Aleppo, Syria.

 

"In front of the team leader and relatives in the crowd, the Islamic extremists cut off the fingertips of the boy and severely beat him, telling his father they would stop the torture only if he, the father, returned to Islam," Christian Aid revealed, according to a report from Morning Star News. "When the team leader refused, relatives said, the ISIS militants also tortured and beat him and the two other ministry workers. The three men and the boy then met their deaths in crucifixion."

 

They were killed for refusing to return to Islam after embracing Christianity, as were the other eight aid workers, including two women, according to Christian Aid. The eight were taken to a separate site in the village and asked if they would return to Islam. However, after they refused to renounce Christ, the women, ages 29 and 33, were raped before the crowd summoned to watch, and then all eight were beheaded.

 

They prayed as they knelt before the Islamic State militants, according to the ministry leader Christian Aid assists, who spoke with relatives and villagers while visiting the site.

 

"Villagers said some were praying in the name of Jesus, others said some were praying the Lord's Prayer, and others said some of them lifted their heads to commend their spirits to Jesus," the ministry director told Christian Aid. "One of the women looked up and seemed to be almost smiling as she said, 'Jesus!'"

 

In a manner reflective of Christ's crucifixion, the bodies of those killed were then hung on crosses for display.

 

The twelve martyrs are among thousands of Christians who have been ransomed, tortured, beheaded and killed over the past year by the Islamic State, a hardline Muslim group determined to wipe Christianity off the Middle Eastern map.

 

The jihadist group has also destroyed countless time-honored Christian monasteries, manuscripts, and holy sites in an attempt to eradicate the faith.

 

In Syria alone, the Christian population has plunged by nearly two-thirds since the country's civil war started in 2011. In Iraq, the Christian population is teetering on extinction, dwindling from around 1.5 million in 2003 to well below 200,000 now.

 

"It is like going back 1,000 years seeing the barbarity that Christians are having to live under. I think we are dealing with a group which makes Nazism pale in comparison and I think they have lost all respect for human life," Patrick Sookhdeo, founder of Barnabas Fund, a charity which seeks to help Syrian Christians, told the Daily Express.

 

"Crucifying these people is sending a message and they are using forms of killing which they believe have been sanctioned by Sharia law," he added. "For them what they are doing is perfectly normal and they don't see a problem with it. It is that religious justification which is so appalling."

 

In Defense of Christians, a persecution watchdog group, earlier this month lobbied on Capitol Hill for lawmakers to pass a resolution characterizing ISIS's targeting of the Christian minority as "genocide."

What Are the Seven Noahide Laws?

North Carolina Is Already Rejecting Black Voters’ Mail-In Ballots More Often Than White Voters’

In every election, a small percentage of mail-in ballots get rejected. But this election is likely to have a whole lot of mail-in ballots. And in an election where a record number of voters are expected to cast their ballots by mail, you’re likely to hear a whole lot about ballots that don’t count, especially because voters of color have ballots rejected at a higher rate than white voters.

 

It’s already happening. In North Carolina, absentee ballots have already been sent back and the state has been updating statistics on those ballots daily. As of September 17, Black voters’ ballots are being rejected at more than four times the rate of white voters, according to the state’s numbers.1 Black voters have mailed in 13,747 ballots, with 642 rejected, or 4.7 percent. White voters have cast 60,954 mail-in ballots, with 681 — or 1.1 percent — rejected. In addition, 434 ballots cast by white voters and 127 ballots cast by Black voters were marked “spoiled,” which can mean literally spoiled or something as simple as a voter informing the election office that the address they had requested a ballot to is wrong. (These are a tiny portion of the votes from one state, so obviously we have a long way to go before we know the full landscape of ballot rejection rates.)

 

The vast majority of these ballots were rejected because voters made a mistake or failed to fill out the witness information,2 according to state records. A rejected ballot does not necessarily mean the voter is denied his or her vote: North Carolina allows for a process called “vote curing,” where voters are notified that there’s a mistake and given a chance to fix their ballot. But that’s not an option in every state: only 19 states currently allow some form of ballot curing. And even that isn’t foolproof. In Nevada’s statewide primary in June, for example, 12,366 ballots had a missing or mismatched signature, but even after voters were notified to fix it, only 45 percent were successfully cured.

Michael Bitzer, a political scientist at Catawba College in North Carolina, compared historical voter records in the state and found that most voters who had their ballot rejected so far voted in person in 2016.

 

“We’re seeing already a lack of familiarity with the process, whether it’s signing the ballot or having the witness information completed,” Bitzer said. “There tends to be a greater number from voters who were previously in-person voters. If you look at the numbers [from Sept. 14], the ballots denied due to incomplete witness information, 55 percent of those voters had voted in person in 2016.”

 

That the barrier to entry is hitting voters of color harder than white voters is indicative of broader, systemic issues with enfranchisement.

 

“When there’s a barrier, it’s going to fall hardest on the most disadvantaged and disenfranchised in the community, which is very frequently going to be poor voters and voters of color,” said Myrna Pérez, the director of the voting rights and elections program at the Brennan Center for Justice.

 

Even if inexperience is largely to blame, that’s still a reason for concern since we’re expecting a record influx in mail-in voters this year. In North Carolina alone, 837,685 of the state’s 7.1 million voters have requested absentee ballots so far.

 

And that’s part of the problem: In 2016, nationally, 1 percent of mail-in ballots were rejected, according to the Election Assistance Commission’s aggregation of state reports. (This number varies by state. In Oregon, which has had mail-only elections for 20 years, 0.69 percent of mail ballots were rejected. In Georgia, 5.8 percent of mail-in ballots were rejected.) But there were a lot fewer voters casting ballots by mail in 2016. Any vote lost is a problem, but 1 percent of a few million votes can be an election-defining one.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – A 60-day U.S. Marshals operation to reduce violent gang crime in Oklahoma City resulted in 262 suspects being arrested, including six people wanted for alleged homicide, and five missing children being located.

 

Operation Triple Beam ended on Sept. 6 and ultimately resulted in 262 arrests, including six homicide suspects, 21 assault suspects, 21 burglary suspects, 88 weapons offense suspects and 57 drug offense suspects, according to a U.S. Marshals Service news release.

 

“Of the total arrests, 141 were confirmed gang members,” the news release states.

 

Five missing children were located and recovered as a result of the operation, according to the news release.

 

Law enforcement officers participating in the operation seized 72 firearms, over 9 kilograms of narcotics and nearly $17,000 in currency, the news release states.

 

“Operation Triple Beam OKC was a targeted enforcement initiative by the Marshals and their partners to address violent crime in and around Oklahoma City,” said U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Oklahoma Johnny Kuhlman. “Our primary goal with operations like OTB is to make communities safer. When we arrest these violent fugitives, we are also removing guns and narcotics from our streets. We believe these efforts have an immediate, positive impact on the communities we serve.”

 

The news release listed the following significant arrests as a result of the operation:

 

Pablo Robledo was arrested on July 31 after escaping from the Oklahoma County Detention Center. Robledo is a known Surenos gang member awaiting murder charges. He and accomplice Jose Hernandez, a rape suspect, broke through a window and used multiple bedsheets to climb down the Detention Center from the 12th floor. His accomplice was injured during the escape and immediately taken back into custody.

Dkwon Littlejohn, a known Rollin 60’s Crip gang member, was arrested July 27 in Spence. Littlejohn is suspected of burglarizing the vehicle of a special agent who works for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations and stealing the agent’s issued duty rifle.

Chasady and Charles Hall, both Dungee Crip gang members, were arrested Aug. 12 in Midwest City. They are accused of kidnapping their biological children from an Oklahoma City daycare. The children were in Department of Human Services custody when the alleged kidnapping occurred.
