A 26-page pdf academic paper examined efforts to study halfchan and assess their association with the Alt-Right. Of course, they took everything at face value and had no deep understanding of halfchan culture. Got upset about gore porn (apparently it was Funky Town). Abstract

In 2019, the authors led a workshop at King’s College London examining how to study 4chan and assess their association with the Alt-Right. Unbeknownst to the authors, a participant was a 4chan user and started a mid-workshop thread on its notorious /pol/ (politically incorrect) board. It gained significant attention. Reviewing it later, the authors realised that this parallel thread illustrates perfectly the challenges researching 4chan – and similar – communities. We conducted discourse analysis on this unique dataset, providing an alternative perspective to predominant anthropological and informatic approaches. Our analysis enhances understanding of ‘free-extremist’ communities such as 4chan in several ways. It assesses how the /pol/ community responds to observation and provides new insights into roles influencers might have in radicalising others. It illustrates the value of discourse analysis in evaluating users’ associations with the Alt-Right. Finally, it proposes ways researchers can overcome the challenges faced when analysing such communities.

IT’S fitting that QAnon arrived in Scotland and the rest of Britain during coronavirus. This global conspiracy theory is as virulent and transnational as the pandemic. It operates like a virus – spreading from place to place, infecting one carrier after another, the sickness growing exponentially.

 

Like coronavirus it’s dangerous, and can be deadly – some people don’t even know they’re infected. It’s a threat to global order – just like the virus. And just like the virus, there’s no known cure. Both QAnon and coronavirus are rare and exotic contagions that have only recently been born.

 

When the world first learned of coronavirus a collective shudder went down the spine of humanity. Just a brief summary of QAnon’s core beliefs is likewise enough to chill the blood of any sane person.

 

If you haven’t heard of QAnon yet, then what you’re about to read isn’t a joke or exaggeration – it’s part of the belief system of millions of people around the world. Put simply, those in the QAnon cult have no doubt that the world is ruled by a monstrous cabal comprised of politicians and the media. This cabal is stocked with paedophiles and Satanists. Many think Donald Trump is the saviour sent to fight this evil.

 

The power of this belief system lies in its ability to metastasise and suck in just about any other conspiracy theory imaginable –including far-right hate tropes about Jewish influence over politics and the media.

 

QAnon is amorphous and ever-changing –like a virus. Most believers aren’t members of any formal organisation. Many hold beliefs in varying degrees of importance. It’s an ideological pick-and-mix -– acolytes can rally around one part of “the cause” while taking little interest in other issues. So some may be motivated by paedophilia allegations while not being drawn to anti-Semitism– and vice versa. However, all share the same hate and fear when it comes to the modern world, and the same religious zealotry when it comes to doing something about it.

 

QAnon, which thrives online, is fundamentally a psychological disease of the digital age. It’s almost apocalyptic in its vision.

Secretary Pompeo to Ask Vatican to Halt Accord With

Communist China

A stark reminder of the depth of China's tentacles

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is scheduled to meet with Pope Francis September 29, 2020, in Rome to discuss, among other topics, the accord the Vatican made with China.

 

In 2018, the Holy See, the universal government of the Catholic Church, made a secret, provisional agreement with China. Although the contents of the agreement have remained under wraps, the agreement has to do with seeding the appointment of bishops to the communist government (after which they are confirmed by the pope).

 

Writing in First Things about the accord, Pompeo notes, “The church’s hope was that it would improve the condition of Catholics in China by reaching agreement with the Chinese regime … “

 

However, Pompeo says, “The human rights situation in China has deteriorated severely under the autocratic rule of Xi Jinping, especially for religious believers. Credible reports have exposed the Chinese Communist Party’s program of forced sterilizations and abortions of Muslims in Xinjiang, its abuse of Catholic priests and laypeople, and its assault on Protestant house churches … Now more than ever, the Chinese people need the Vatican’s moral witness and authority in support of China’s religious believers.”

 

Pompeo reportedly will ask the pope not to renew the agreement with China.

 

In January the bishop emeritus of Hong Kong, Cardinal Joseph Zen, who has been the leading voice for persecuted Catholics in China, sent a letter to the College of Cardinals imploring them to denounce the agreement the Vatican signed with China’s Communist Party (CCP).

 

Zen, referring to the Vatican document’s pastoral guidelines of the Holy See concerning the civil registration of clergy in China (of June 28, 2019), said:

 

“First of all, I cannot believe that there is such a statement in the agreement, and I do not see it there. (By the way, why must such an agreement be secret, and why is it not granted even to me, a Chinese cardinal, to see it?) But, even more clearly, the whole reality after the signing of the agreement shows that nothing has changed.”

 

A Brief History of Vatican Agreements with Nefarious Regimes

This is not the first time the Holy See has made agreements with an authoritarian state:

 

The Lateran Treaty of February 11, 1929, ended a long and troubled historic, diplomatic and political journey that led to the dual recognition between the Italian state and the Vatican City state. However, the treaty served to allow Italian dictator Benito Mussolini to consolidate his power and, with the support of almost the entire Italian Catholic hierarchy, lead Italy into two wars: the one against Ethiopia (1935) and World War II.

 

The Reichskonkordat between the Holy See and Nazi Germany was signed on July 20, 1933, by the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Eugenio Pacelli (the future Pope Pius XII) — despite the misgivings of Pope Pius XI — and Franz von Papen, the Vice-Chancellor for Adolf Hitler. It ensured the loyalty of bishops in Germany to the state through an oath and required that all priests in the country be Germans and subject to German superiors. Restrictions were also placed on Catholic organizations in Germany.

 

In the 1960s, the Church began, under its principal architect, Cardinal Agostino Casaroli, the strategic policy of Ostpolitik — the normalizing relations and openness toward the Warsaw Pact nations (the satellite countries of the Soviet Union).

 

The policy included ending all public criticism against communist regimes and endless negotiations with these rogue governments. The results were, to put it mildly, terrible:

 

In Hungary in the mid-1970s, the leadership of the Church and its properties were micromanaged by the Hungarian Communist Party, which also had de facto control of the Hungarian College in Rome.

In Czechoslovakia, the ostpolitik empowered a band of Catholic collaborators to serve as a front for the Communist Party and its repressions.

 

All of this began to end with the election of Pope John Paul II in 1978, who challenged and revealed the hypocrisy of the Warsaw Pact communist dictatorships. It was through the efforts of this pope, together with then-President Ronald Reagan, that communism in Poland collapsed, triggering a domino effect that brought down the other communist regimes, including eventually the Soviet Union.

The real mortality rates for seasonal flu is probably 125-150k+ as the Baby Boomer wave passes yet the numbers have been kept artificially low leading up to 2020 by listing anything other than Flu as the cause of death and in 2020, by doing the exact opposite.

 

This would also explain why our medical supply "Cupboards" were bare as far as Flu related supplies are concerned.

2 years ago I asked anons for prayers for my grandfather who was going to have his leg amputated. Rather miraculously blood began flowing in his leg again after I asked for your prayers. I returned here with an update and my profound thanks.

Pompeo’s tweet on 19 September linked to an article he wrote for the magazine First Things asking the Vatican to use its “moral witness and authority in support of China’s religious believers.”

 

“Vatican diplomats are meeting this month with their CCP (Chinese Communist Party) counterparts to negotiate the renewal of a two-year-old provisional agreement between the Holy See and China. The terms of that pact have never been publicly disclosed; but the church’s hope was that it would improve the condition of Catholics in China by reaching agreement with the Chinese regime on the appointment of bishops, the traditional stewards of the faith in local communities,” Pompeo wrote in the article.

Federal judge removes Trump public lands boss for serving unlawfully

lands has been serving unlawfully, blocking him from continuing in the position in the latest pushback

“Today’s ruling is a win for the Constitution, the rule of law, and our public lands,” Gov. Steve Bullock

said Friday. Environmental groups and Democratic lawmakers from Western states also cheered the

judge’s move after urging for months that Pendley be removed.

 

The ruling will be immediately appealed, according to Interior Department spokesman Conner Swanson.

He called it “an outrageous decision that is well outside the bounds of the law,” and he said the Obama

'It’s got to stop': Rancher reports mutilated cow outside of Ukiah

 

UKIAH — Fee Stubblefield was just doing the rounds on Sept. 12, checking in on his cattle near Dixie Ranch Road outside of Ukiah, when he saw something sitting in the thicket.

 

He approached, peering closer as his eyes made out the dead body of a cow lying on its side in the dirt.

 

“At the moment, I didn’t think anything of it,” Stubblefield said. “But then when I looked closer, you know, it didn’t look right.”

 

The skin around the cow’s mouth was sliced away, and its tongue, glands and sex organs had been cleanly removed. A piece of the cow’s ear was cut off and placed on its neck.

 

“It’s a very unusual cut,” Stubblefield said. “There was no blood.”

 

He found no footprints or tracks as evidence of someone traveling through the area. Stubblefield first thought it might be the work of wolves, so he called authorities to get some answers.

 

According to Stubblefield, Oregon State Police responded to the scene Sept. 12 and confirmed it as a mutilation kill. The state trooper with knowledge of the case could not be reached for comment Friday.

 

“We got lucky because we found the cow within a couple days of when it had been killed, so it really yielded some good photos and hopefully some good evidence,” he said. “What’s more disturbing is now that we’ve identified this as a mutilation kill, we’ve actually discovered we had two other ones.”

 

Stubblefield raises cattle as part of a small ranching operation between Pendleton and Ukiah. He said these other two potential mutilations occurred within the last six months.

 

One was a cow of his own that was found in an “extremely remote location unconnected to this site,” while the other finding belonged to another rancher. That cow was found on Stubblefield’s property.

 

Neither were found as timely as the one discovered on Sept. 12, he said, but the Oregon State Police were informed of them and an investigation is underway.

 

The scene Stubblefield stumbled onto shares disturbing similarities with thousands of other cattle and livestock in the Western United States that have been mutilated and left with little to no evidence of a suspect or motive.

 

In each instance, cattle are usually found with their tongues and genitals carefully removed without signs of a struggle. In the 1970s, hundreds of these reports spurred a FBI inquiry into the phenomenon that was largely unsuccessful, which the agency chalked up to a lack of jurisdiction where the cattle were found.

 

In July and August of 2019, the report of five bulls mutilated on the Silvies Valley Ranch in Harney County grabbed headlines across Oregon, and another mutilation was later reported at the border of Lake and Deschutes County in September that year.

 

According to a report from the Capital Press, a cow was found mutilated earlier this year near Fossil in Wheeler County on July 23. The carcass was found upright with its legs tucked underneath it, and authorities located a partial boot print about 100 yards away from the scene.

 

“There’s a lot of concern about this, and there needs to be,” Stubblefield said.

 

Theories around cattle mutilations and their culprits have ranged from UFOs and aliens to government conspiracies and satanic cults, which Stubblefield isn’t subscribing to.

 

“I’m a believer that this is a little more practical and this is criminal behavior,” he said…

In recent days, thousands of protesters have gathered at London’s Trafalgar Square to express their anger at the British government’s measures to contain the coronavirus pandemic. Supporters of the QAnon conspiracy theory were among them. Some protesters were heard shouting "Choose your side," while others held placards reading "Liberty not fear" and "Stop child trafficking."

 

An amorphous theory

This last slogan is typical of QAnon adherents. The QAnon movement, born and bred on the internet, claims that an international pedophile elite has been secretly abducting and sexually abusing children, and harvesting their blood to make a youth serum. According to the theory, this global cabal includes the likes of Hillary Clinton and US investor George Soros, who are using this drug to control the world.

 

QAnon supporters think that these figures are part of a sort of secret government, the so-called deep state, controlling US and world politics. US President Donald Trump is seen as a savior, bent on fighting this evil "deep state."

 

These are the main tenets of the QAnon theory. It is, however, an amorphous edifice that keeps changing, sometimes overlapping with other conspiracy myths, including anti-Semitic ones. "QAnon is like tofu; it can take on whatever flavor you add, depending on which ingredients you add," said Jakob Guhl of London's Institute of Strategic Dialogue (ISD).

 

Joining ranks with the alt-right

For example, QAnon adherents have recently united with protesters who believe government efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic are exaggerated, or that the virus is just a ploy to control the population through vaccinations. This could clearly be seen at demonstrations in several countries where QAnon supporters have marched side by side with anti-vaxxers, hippies and far-right extremists.

 

And indeed, the pandemic has lent further momentum to the QAnon movement, according to a recent ISD study. It found a marked uptick in QAnon-related posts on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram between March and June this year. And the movement is gaining ground even outside of its place of birth, the United States.

OMG! I just tried to listen to one of the ‘True Pundit’ podcasts by ‘Paine’.

 

That would have to be one of the most excruciating hours of my ‘listening life’.

I don’t know how he retains ANY regular listeners.

Watching the Water in 1950 in San Francisco

 

The bacterium Serratia marcescens lives in soil and water, and is best known for its ability to produce bright red pigment. This flashy trait makes this particular microbe useful in experiments—because it is so bright, it's easy to see where it is. And in 1950, the U.S. military harnessed that power in a large-scale biowarefare test, writes Rebecca Kreston on her blog “Body Horrors” for Scientific American.

 

Beginning on September 26, 1950, the crew of a U.S. Navy minesweeper ship spent six days spraying Serratia marcescens into the air about two miles off the northern California coast. The project was called “Operation Sea Spray,” and its aim was to determine the susceptibility of a big city like San Francisco to a bioweapon attack by terrorists.

 

In the following days, the military took samples at 43 sites to track the bacteria's spread, and found that it had quickly infested not only the city but surrounding suburbs as well. During the test, residents of these areas would have inhaled millions of bacterial spores. Clearly, their test showed, San Francisco and cities with similar size and topography could face germ warfare threats. “In this regard, the experiment was a success,” writes Kreston.

 

But there was a catch. At the time, the US military thought that Serratia couldn’t harm humans. The bug was mostly known for the red spots it produced on infested foods and had not been widely linked to clinical conditions. That changed when one week after the test, 11 local residents checked into a Stanford University Hospital complaining of urinary tract infections.

 

Upon testing their pee, doctors noticed that the pathogen had a red hue. “Infection with Serratia was so rare that the outbreak was extensively investigated by the University to identify the origins of this scarlet letter bug,” writes Kreston. After scientists identified the microbe, the cases collectively became the first recorded outbreak of Serratia marcescens. One patient, a man named Edward Nevin who was recovering from prostate surgery, died, and some have suggested that the release forever changed the area's microbial ecology, as Bernadette Tansey pointed out for the San Francisco Chronicle in 2004.

 

The military had performed similar tests in other cities across the country over the next two decades, until Richard Nixon halted all germ warfare research in 1969. The San Francisco experiment didn’t become public knowledge until 1976.

California's Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill Saturday to end sex-segregated prisons in that state, to allow inmates to be housed based on the gender with which they identify as opposed to dividing them by sex.

 

The caveat of the bill is that this privilege is only for those inmates with which the penal system does not have "management or security concerns."

 

This collection of bills, designed with the aim of "strengthening protections for LGBTQ+ Californians," does little for women or children, as it opens female prisons to male-bodied persons, and enables tax payer funds to go toward the medical transitioning of minors. There is also funding to find the impact of COVID-19, which is an illness that primarily affects the elderly and those with existing health complications, on the LGBT+ community.
