Quebec Orders All Health-Care Workers To Get Vaccinated Or Be Suspended Without Pay

The province of Quebec has become the latest local government (and the first in Canada) to decree that all nurses working in the province will need to get vaccinated by Oct. 15, or they will be suspended without pay, according to the province's health minister, Christian Dubé, who made the announcement on Tuesday.

The decision isn't exactly a surprise. Dubé and Quebec Premier François Legault have said in recent weeks that they intended to make vaccination mandatory for health-care workers, but they didn't specify a deadline or consequences for workers who didn't follow the mandate until Tuesday, when Dubé made the announcement during a provincial update.

For weeks, such events have been led by Dubé, accompanied by Public Health Director Dr. Horacio Arruda. But given the gravity of the announcement, Legault returned to lead the news conference himself for the first time in weeks.

Legault noted the number of hospitalizations in the province had climbed to 171 from 55 a month ago. And when asked which workers will be affected by the mandate, Dubé responded: "Everybody … 100 per cent of employees."

Vaccine passports will also be required for visitors to hospitals, he added.

It's not just nurses who will be affected: doctors, midwives, professionals in private clinics and volunteers will all need to be vaccinated before entering a hospital.

With COVID cases rising once again in the province, Legault said Tuesday that Quebec would need to reorganize its hospital system: "For a while, we're going to have to accept a certain amount of risk. We don't want another lockdown, so we're going to have to accept that there will be hospitalizations for COVID-19 for a while." "We are going to have to reorganize the health-care system."

One strategy is they are trying to convince people who have left the profession to return.

Others criticized the policy, saying they're not sure it's the right call.

Jeff Begley, head of the federation of health and social services union, said he wasn't surprised by the government's announcement, but he wasn't sure they had made the best decision.

"We're not sure that it's the best means going forward," he said.

Begley explained that most hospitals have eliminated their "hot" sections for COVID patients (since most people are vaccinated now). Begley believes this may have been a mistake, and that COVID patients must be quarantined in hospitals to avoid infecting others.

As of Tuesday, 87% of Quebecers have had at least one dose of the vaccine. Legault pleaded with those watching to try and convince at least one person who hasn't been vaccinated to get the jab.

Still, if the province is trying to improve its ability to deal with the pandemic, suspending nurses and doctors from their jobs without pay doesn't seem like the best way to go.

Documents Show Fauci-Funded Wuhan Lab Created Novel Coronavirus with ‘Enhanced Pathogenicity’ for Humans

Newly released U.S. government documents show that Dr. Anthony Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) provided funding for the gain-of-function research conducted at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) that created novel coronaviruses with the ability to infect humans, and one previously undisclosed SARS-related coronavirus engineered at the Wuhan lab was reportedly demonstrated to be more pathogenic to humans than the virus from which it was originally constructed.

The 900 pages of documents – obtained by The Intercept through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit – prove that Fauci’s NIAID provided funding to EcoHealth Alliance, which in turn funded the controversial gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab that created novel coronaviruses that could infect humans.

The Intercept’s report on the documents quotes Richard Ebright, a molecular biologist at Rutgers University, who said that the viruses the Wuhan lab constructed “were tested for their ability to infect mice that were engineered to display human type receptors on their cell.” And these viruses included both SARS-related and MERS-related coronaviruses.

Ebright later posted an eight-part thread on Twitter explaining in greater detail the document’s revelations concerning the “enhanced pathogenicity” of one of the “novel, laboratory-generated SARS-related coronaviruses” created by the Wuhan lab. He noted that this particular Wuhan lab-generated SARS-related coronavirus had not been “previously disclosed publicly” and that it was found to be “more pathogenic” to humans than “the starting virus from which it was constructed.”

Ebright’s Twitter thread reads:

The materials show that the 2014 and 2019 NIH grants to EcoHealth with subcontracts to WIV funded gain-of-function research as defined in federal policies in effect in 2014-2017 and potential pandemic pathogen enhancement as defined in federal policies in effect in 2017-present.

(This had been evident previously from published research papers that credited the 2014 grant and from the publicly available summary of the 2019 grant. But this now can be stated definitively from progress reports of the 2014 grant and the full proposal of the 2017 grant.)

The materials confirm the grants supported the construction–in Wuhan–of novel chimeric SARS-related coronaviruses that combined a spike gene from one coronavirus with genetic information from another coronavirus, and confirmed the resulting viruses could infect human cells.

The materials reveal that the resulting novel, laboratory-generated SARS-related coronaviruses also could infect mice engineered to display human receptors on cells (“humanized mice”).

The materials further reveal for the first time that one of the resulting novel, laboratory-generated SARS-related coronaviruses–one not been previously disclosed publicly–was more pathogenic to humanized mice than the starting virus from which it was constructed…

…and thus not only was reasonably anticipated to exhibit enhanced pathogenicity, but, indeed, was demonstrated to exhibit enhanced pathogenicity.

The materials further reveal that the the grants also supported the construction–in Wuhan–of novel chimeric MERS-related coronaviruses that combined spike genes from one MERS-related coronavirus with genetic information from another MERS-related coronavirus.

Ebright concluded his thread by stating: “The documents make it clear that assertions by the NIH Director, Francis Collins, and the NIAID Director, Anthony Fauci, that the NIH did not support gain-of-function research or potential pandemic pathogen enhancement at WIV are untruthful.”

As The Intercept’s article noted, “The closest relative of SARS-CoV-2, which causes Covid-19, is a virus found in bats, making the animals a focal point for efforts to understand the origins of the pandemic. Exactly how the virus jumped to humans is the subject of heated debate.”

Thus, the fact that these documents reveal the existence of a previously undisclosed “novel, laboratory-generated SARS-related” coronavirus with “enhanced pathogenicity” to infect humans should be a matter of intense interest to anyone searching for the potential origins of Covid-19.

Silicon Valley investor steps down from company's board after calling Black Lives Matter the 'true racists' who push socialism

A Silicon Valley investor was fired from the board of one of the world's largest apparels companies after she said that she didn't believe in Black Lives Matter because they were the "true racists" pushing socialism on America.

The private email containing the comments from Veronica Wu was obtained by Axios.

Wu was responding to an email in 2020 from an officer manager inquiring about whether a company would celebrate Juneteenth, the holiday celebrating when news of the Emancipation Proclamation reached Galveston, Texas. He went on to explain that it was a part of the focus on the Black Lives Matter movement.

Wu responded by saying she didn't support Black Lives Matter.

"This is where I am particularly not supportive. I have lived in the country as a minority and women [sic] for all my life. I have not experience much racism or discrimination as a minority or female. By and large, I was able to get opportunities to compete as fairly as I think," read the email.

"I truly believe this country by and large is not a racist country. Not to say there are not people who might be (there might be minority and some extremists), but it is by far not the biggest problem this country is facing," she continued.

"I don't believe in Black Lives Matter. If anything I think they are the true racists trying to stir up things to make this country going [sic] to socialism or even communism potentially," Wu continued later on in the email.

"That would be truly sad. I am a patriot. I appreciate all this country has given me, and believe it is a place where meritocracy thrive which is why it is such a great country. I don't appreciate those who try to weaken it by undermining the meritocracy principles and try to stick to some race quota," she explained.

On Tuesday, VF Corporation said in a statement that Wu had stepped down from its board.

"Wu's decision to step down from the Board was not the result of any disagreement with VF on any matter relating to VF's operations, policies or practices," said the company.

VF Corporation owns many apparel brands including Vans, North Face, and Timberland.

In the lead-up to the critical 2018 mid-term elections President Trump’s political opposition needed a control mechanism in order to remove him from office and support the impeachment path. The administrative state -writ large- produced an overwhelming narrative leading to the issuance of an Executive Declaration of A National Emergency to Avoid Foreign Interference in Our Elections.

At the time the narrative was framed (mid-2018) the argument was: if President Trump did not declare the emergency and grant the federal intelligence community the right to enter state election databases and “monitor” the activity therein, that refusal itself would be proof Donald Trump was a Russian asset. Remember, the Mueller investigation was at its apex and the office of the president was surrounded by administration officials like Mike Pence (VP), Jeff Sessions, Rod Rosenstein (DOJ), Alexander Vindman (NSC), Dana Boente (FBI), Dan Coats (DNI), Michael Atkinson (ICIG), et al; all of them carrying ulterior motives.

President Trump signed the emergency declaration and granted the Intelligence Branch of Government full access to the state-level election systems.

In short, President Trump was forced by his Machiavellian captors to seal his own fate. Yes, this is how the DC apparatus works. The Intelligence Branch of Government works with their political agents within the legislative branch and simultaneously coordinate with their media operatives to surround the target with fire until the action they need is executed. In the fall of 2018 the unrelenting pressure worked exactly as designed. [Federal Register]

It was not coincidental that most of the new 2018 Democrat candidates for office came from former and/or current CIA and intelligence agencies. A few people wondered why so many ‘new’ DNC approved candidates were from the intelligence agencies of the government. Some even coined the phrase “CIA Democrats“, but for the most part it was ignored. The 2018 federal election outcome was delivered exactly as planned. Democrats took control of the House of representatives and paved the way for Mueller to deliver what they needed for articles of impeachment.

Fast forward to 2020 and the same Federal Declaration of a National Election Emergency was used to support the COVID mail-in ballot narrative, while the same intelligence branch operatives coordinated with state-level political activists to manipulate the outcome.

Any state that is granting the federal government permission to “electronically monitor” their voting system is granting the Intelligence Branch of the U.S. Government full control to modify, manipulate and change the actual voting results.

You see, once the government takes an action that is so drastic, so consequential and so corrupt in scale, they enter a place where there is no upper limit on what actions need to be taken in order to protect the prior lawlessness. This same zero-sum principle was applied during the Obama-era surveillance operation against candidate Trump. Once the Obama team weaponized the intelligence apparatus, specifically by accessing the NSA database to conduct monitoring of electronic communication, they entered a world where there was no way to exit.

Washington, DC, Sept. 07, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Last week, Children's Health Defense (CHD) filed suit in Tennessee federal court against the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and its acting director Janet Woodcock for their deceptive, rushed licensure of Pfizer's Comirnaty vaccine. CHD argues that the licensure was a classic "bait and switch," allowing Pfizer, the Administration, the military and employers to exhort people to take "licensed" vaccines when in fact the vaccines available continue to be the Pfizer-BioNTech Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) vaccines.

The lawsuit alleges that the FDA's actions are arbitrary and capricious. Under federal law, if the FDA licenses a product for the same precise purpose as an existing emergency use authorization product, it must withdraw the EUA. Yet here, the FDA is allowing Pfizer to have "interchangeable" vaccines, Comirnaty and Pfizer-BioNTech, on the market at the same time for the same indication of people aged 16 and up, while suggesting that the vaccines are "legally distinct." CHD asserts that the FDA has violated the law.

CHD is following up on the Citizen Petition that Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Meryl Nass, M.D. submitted on behalf of CHD on May 16, 2021, which garnered over 30,000 public comments. On August 23, 2021, the same day that it licensed the Pfizer Comirnaty vaccine, the FDA responded to CHD's petition. This licensure and FDA response cleared the administrative path for CHD to file suit.

With the end of the primary season, the Democratic Party leadership and their allies in the national security apparatus have completed the first stage of what might be termed a “friendly takeover” of the Democrats by candidates recruited from among military, CIA and civilian national security cadres.

The World Socialist Web Site first identified the phenomenon of the CIA Democrats in a series published in March. At the time we noted the large number of candidates drawn from the military-intelligence apparatus seeking Democratic nominations in competitive congressional districts. If the Democrats won the November election, we warned, such military-intelligence operatives would hold the balance of power in the new House of Representatives.

Of the 44 districts we identified in March—since grown to 46—military-intelligence candidates have won 30 nominations, a success rate of about 66 percent or two-thirds. That testifies to their extensive support from the Democratic Party leadership, from longtime financial backers of the Democrats, and from the top levels of the national security establishment.

There are 115 districts rated as competitive by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) or by groups specializing in the district-by-district analysis of congressional races. The 30 military-intelligence candidates account for more than one quarter of the Democratic candidates in these districts, making them the largest single group, ahead of state and local politicians (26), lawyers (20), millionaires (15), other professionals (8), former Obama aides (3) and miscellaneous (13).

Most of the organizations that investigate and rate congressional races are projecting that the Democrats will win more than the 23 seats required to take control of the House, and possibly as many as 50 or 60. In the latter scenario, CIA Democrats could make up as much as half of the new class of first-time representatives.

There is one particularly ominous aspect of the politics of this group of candidates. Despite their personal involvement in the wars of the past two decades, in Iraq and Afghanistan, and in the overall operation of the vast US national-security establishment, many of the CIA Democrats say nothing at all on their websites about foreign and military policy. This strongly suggests that they are backers of an aggressive expansion of US military intervention and political subversion around the world, but they choose to conceal that fact from the voters of their districts.

What follows is a complete list of the 30 military-intelligence Democrats who are on the ballot November 6, together with the details of their careers in the national security apparatus. The list includes new candidates not previously identified, and new information on all the candidates.

The candidates are listed by alphabetical order of their state. The facts and photographs are all taken from the candidates’ own websites. It is notable that they see long records with the national-security apparatus as their principal credentials for office, not as something to downplay. Equally notable, not one of these candidates draws any negative, let alone anti-war, conclusions from their own participation in wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen and other countries.

Australia has gone harder than almost any other nation to save lives through lockdowns but there are some terrifying stats behind the whopping cost.

Every morning we are being conditioned in Australia to listen to various press conferences around Covid, yet some numbers are missing every single day.

• 464 – that is the number of Australians who die every single day, around 170,000 each year.

• 76 is the number of easily preventable deaths which occur every day in Australia, 28,000 each year.

• 2 – the number of Australians who have died on average from Covid-19 each day since the pandemic began – 1000 over 18 months.

Yes, had we not taken lockdown measures, those numbers would have been much higher. Sweden, which has a similar health care system, took no hard lockdown measures and since the pandemic began has had a death rate of 1500 per million people.

Extrapolated to Australia’s population, this would be around 39,000 people – sounds bad, doesn’t it? Except that around 19,000 Australians die each year from heart disease, and around 16,000 from dementia in Australia alone.

Obviously, you can’t catch heart disease like Covid-19 – but if we spent the vast sums of money on disease research like we have spent in Covid measures, then perhaps we would have a shot at defeating these serious illnesses.

Every single death is both sad and tragic, but we need to consider Covid deaths in a broader context.

The Coroners Court of Victoria recently announced a spike in childhood injury deaths during 2020 for Victoria.

One child under 14 died from completely preventable accidents almost every 11 days in Victoria during 2020 – almost double the 17 children in 2019 – and reversing almost a decade worth of downward trend in preventable child deaths, this trend wasn’t replicated in any other state in Australia.

Double the number of children in Victoria died accidentally during Covid than the year prior, and the years prior to that.

Just as Covid victims had families, so to do those children all but they don’t make the Premier’s press conference and we didn’t have the discussion about those kids’ deaths.

Who lives and who dies is a very hard and uncomfortable conversation to have, but we do need to start having it?

Although there has been no evidence of a foreign power altering the outcomes or vote tabulation in any United States election, foreign powers have historically sought to exploit America’s free and open political system. In recent years, the proliferation of digital devices and internet-based communications has created significant vulnerabilities and magnified the scope and intensity of the threat of foreign interference. The ability of persons located, in whole or in substantial part, outside the United States to interfere in or undermine public confidence in United States elections, including through the unauthorized accessing of election and campaign infrastructure or the covert distribution of propaganda and disinformation, continues to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States. For this reason, the national emergency declared on September 12, 2018, must continue in effect beyond September 12, 2021. Therefore, in accordance with section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1622(d)), I am continuing for 1 year the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13848 with respect to the threat of foreign interference in or undermining public confidence in United States elections.

This notice shall be published in the Federal Register and transmitted to the Congress.

NSW path to freedom revealed as 1405 new COVID-19 cases recorded

The New South Wales government has revealed Greater Sydney's path out of lockdown for those who are fully vaccinated, with some regional areas to be released from stay-at-home orders from Saturday.

Stay-at-home orders for adults who have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine will be lifted from the Monday after NSW passes the 70 per cent double vaccination target, under the roadmap to freedom released today.

Only fully vaccinated people and those with medical exemptions will have access to the freedoms, while workers at re-opened venues will need to be vaccinated.

The announcement comes as the state recorded 1405 new cases and five additional deaths in the last 24 hours.

Here's a quick summary on the freedoms for fully vaccinated people once NSW reaches the 70 per cent double-dose milestone:

Gatherings in the home and public spaces:

Up to five visitors will be allowed in a home where all adults are vaccinated (not including children 12 and under)

Up to 20 people can gather in outdoor settings.

Venues including hospitality, retail stores and gyms:

Hospitality venues can reopen subject to one person per four-square-metre rule inside and one person per two- square-metres outside, with standing while drinking permitted outside

Retail stores can reopen under the one person per four-square-metre rule (unvaccinated people will continue to only be able to access critical retail)

Personal services such as hairdressers and nail salons can open with one person per four-square-metres, capped at five clients per premises

Gyms and indoor recreation facilities can open under the one person per four-square-metre rule and can offer classes for up to 20 people

Sporting facilities including swimming pools can reopen

Stadiums, theatres and major outdoor recreation facilities:

Major recreation outdoor facilities including stadiums, racecourses, theme parks and zoos can reopen with one person per four-square-metres, capped at 5000 people

Up to 500 people can attend ticketed and seated outdoor events

Indoor entertainment and information facilities including cinemas, theatres, music halls, museums and galleries can reopen with one person per four-square-metres or 75 per cent fixed seated capacity

Weddings, funerals and places of worship:

Up to 50 guests can attend weddings, with dancing permitted and eating and drinking only while seated

Up to 50 guests can attend funerals, with eating and drinking while seated

Churches and places of worship to open subject to one person per four-square-metre rule, with no singing

Travel:

Domestic travel, including trips to regional NSW, will be permitted

Caravan parks and camping grounds can open

Carpooling will be permitted

Freedom still hinges on two things

Chief health officer Dr Kerry Chant is pinning her hope on the community as NSW works to drop Covid rates and increase vaccination coverage.

Dr Chant avoided questions from journalists questioning if the state would delay easing restrictions if the R effective transmission rate was still not below one when 70 per cent of NSW is double dose vaccinated.

“This is all in everyone's hands. Please don't lose sight of the fact that for the next four weeks we need to redouble our efforts and get vaccinated,” she said.

“There's still too many people in vulnerable groups that are not, in terms of medical co-morbidities, people over 50 and people over 70, that are still not vaccinated.

“We still haven't got high enough two-dose vaccine coverage for some of those groups. And we've now got access to vaccine for the younger ones.

“I have to say, the uptake in the age groups that have just recently had access to the vaccine is so reassuring to me. Because I think that young people are acting so responsibly in terms of protecting themselves but protecting their loved ones.”

A training document provided to freshmen orientation leaders at Iowa State University tells them that the world is racist and also provided information on who the most oppressive and privileged people are.

Furthermore, it’s not just the United States that is a bastion of racism and privilege, according to the public university, it is the entire world.

“Our world has been ordered and structured on the basis of skin color and that oppressive ordering and structuring is RACISM,” the handout said.

A university spokesperson told The College Fix it was available for use by orientation leaders.

“The information on privilege was included in a section of optional additional resources for Destination Iowa State team leaders,” spokesperson Angie Hunt told The Fix via email. “It was not a required or mandatory part of the training for team leaders, and was not used in the orientation programing for Destination Iowa State participants.”

Hunt said that team leaders could use it in their preparation.

Training for Destination Iowa State focuses on team leadership and program logistics to prepare team leaders to welcome new students and help them transition to Cyclone life,” Hunt said. “Organizers provide several resources to help students engage on these topics, which are regularly reviewed and updated.”

UK technology business G2O Water Technologies has landed its first commercial contract for the enhancement of water filtration membranes with graphene oxide. This is particularly significant for both the technology company as well as the water sector globally, as it is the first commercially successful application of the recently developed material for water treatment.

The advantages of using graphene oxide lie in the enhancement of membrane performance, as it mitigates the effects of fouling – one of the biggest challenges operators of membrane-based water filtration systems face. With a coating of graphene oxide, successfully developed and piloted by the company in the northwest of England in collaboration with Hydrasyst Limited, operators can improve operational efficiency, reduce energy consumption and decrease chemical usage. Australian CSIRO develops promising graphene-based water filtration membrane

Scientists from the Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) have used their own type of graphene called "GraphAir" to develop a water filter membrane that is reportedly capable of making water from Sydney Harbor drinkable.

The membrane makes water purification simpler, more effective and quicker, say CSIRO scientists. “Conventional water filter membranes used in water purification​ are made from polymers (plastics) and cannot handle a diverse mix of contaminants, they clog or allow contaminants to pass through, so they have to be separated out before the water is filtered”, they said. “This technology can create clean drinking water, regardless of how dirty it is, in a single step.”

CSIRO developed the graphene membrane and placed it over a regular commercial-grade water filtering membrane. Tests using water samples from Sydney Harbor showed that without Graphair the filtration rate halved in 72 hours, as contaminants clogged the filter’s membrane. After the Graphair was added, scientists say the filter did not clog, more contaminants were filtered and the water was determined safe to drink.

In addition to its effective filtration capabilities, Graphair is cheaper, faster and more environmentally friendly to produce than other graphene as it is made from soybean oil, which is most often found in vegetable oil.

CSIRO is hoping to begin field trials in a developing-world community next year after researchers from QUT, the University of Sydney, University of Technology Sydney, and Victoria University confirmed Graphair's water purification qualities. Gates Foundation helped 'raise China's voice of governance' in Africa, emails show

Microsoft founder Bill Gates' international foundation has helped the Chinese Communist government in various ways, according to a newly-released batch of emails from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases under Dr. Anthony Fauci, obtained by Judicial Watch through a Freedom of Information Act request.

In a statement to Fox News, the Gates Foundation contested this interpretation of its work. A spokesperson said that the foundation does similar work in the United States.

According to the emails, the Gates Foundation worked closely with the Chinese government to grease the skids to enable the sale of Chinese-produced medications outside the Middle Kingdom. The foundation also helped "raise China's voice of governance by placing representatives from China on important international counsels as high level commitment from China."

The newly-released emails include a September 5, 2017, report from Dr. Ping Chen, the NIAID representative in China. Chen told her colleagues that she "attended a ‘Belt and Road’ High Level Meeting for Health Cooperation: towards a Health Silk Road."

In the same report, Chen reported that she attended a joint meeting with the Gates Foundation, the United States Agency for International Development, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and others "initially planned to talk about global Malaria eradication efforts." However, the group "ended talking in general Chinese policies and the foundation's current strategies in China – capacity building to help China raise its national standards and leverage China's resource to help others."

CHINA USES NEW AND RENOVATED BUILDINGS IN AFRICA FOR SPYING: REPORT

She mentioned that the Gates Foundation has provided funding for China's National Medical Products Administration (formerly known as China's Food and Drug Administration or FDA), in order to place experienced Chinese-Americans who had worked at the U.S. FDA for many years to work in China's equivalent agency.

Chen also noted that the Gates Foundation "is working with the Chinese government" on medical outreach to other countries, specifically in Africa.

"More specifically, it helps Chinese companies to gain pre-qualification on medications so that Chinese company manufactured drugs can be sold outside China, helps the Chinese to establish bilateral collaboration with specific countries in Africa, teaches the Chinese how to do resource mobilization, and helps raise China's voice of governance by placing representatives from China on important international counsels as high level commitment from China," Chen wrote of the Gates Foundation.

"Just met with a group from the Global Virome Project (GVP) which is funded partially by USAID," the NIAID representative added. "The head of the project, Peter Daszak of EcoHealth Alliance, is an NIAID funded Pl [private investigator]. His collaborator at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China has done excellent work on corona viruses in Chinese bat populations."

In the wake of these revelations, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton demanded that the Gates Foundation "explain the government report about its assistance to and advocacy for China."

In a statement to Fox News, a Gates Foundation spokesperson said that Fox News' reporting on Chen's email "mischaracterizes the foundation’s work in China, which is designed to increase accessibility of important global health tools such as anti-malaria treatments, rapid diagnostic tests and vaccines for polio and Japanese Encephalitis across low-income countries, especially those in sub-Saharan Africa."

"This is very similar to the work we do with countries like the United States as we try to ensure equitable access to life-saving treatments and tools," the spokesperson added, linking to a web page describing the foundation's efforts "working with Chinese partners to help the country become a stronger health and development partner for the rest of the developing world."

The Gates Foundation spokesperson did not respond to concerns that the foundation's work bolsters the Chinese Communist government.

The Chinese Communist Party has faced intense criticism for its actions during the COVID-19 pandemic. According to a report from the Henry Jackson Society, the governments of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Britain, and the United States should take legal action against China. The report claims that China tried to cover up the pandemic early on, destroying early samples of the virus and silencing doctors who tried to warn the world about it, among other things.

China has expanded its influence in Africa in recent years. According to a 2020 report from the Heritage Foundation, "Beijing likely has better surveillance access to Africa than anywhere else by having built or renovated at least 186 African government buildings."
