I gave up on organized religion awhile back.

Tolerance does not equal Love.

Every church that I have ever attended ended up being political in their own way. They are usually run by the five wealthiest families who want everyone else to be their sheep.

I'm not a leader or a follower, so I don't fit in their box.

I'm not saying people shouldn't go to church. It's just not for me.

I usually came home angry instead of filled with the Fruits of the Spirit.

Some studies have suggested getting infected naturally offers more protection than any vaccines. But Britain's biggest coronavirus symptom-tracking app has now come down in the favour of jabs.

But two doses of AstraZeneca were found to be slightly better, with efficacy sitting at around 71 per cent. Pfizer's was even stronger, with the double-dose course offering around 80 per cent protection after six months.

Professor Tim Spector, the lead scientist behind the app, said: 'Regardless of which vaccine is administered, this research shows having a natural Covid infection before double vaccination does mean greater protection.'

Despite the findings, the study also suggested that natural immunity doesn't start to wane for at least a year — but protection from vaccines can weaken after just three months.

Over the past four years, $374 million has been allocated for AIDS treatment research. You were in charge of spending much of that money.

 

It doesn’t take a genius to set up a nationwide network of testing sites, commence a small number of moderately sized treatment efficacy tests on a population desperate to participate in them, import any and all interesting drugs (now numbering approximately 110) from around the world for inclusion in these tests at these sites, and swiftly get into circulation anything that remotely passes muster. Yet, after three years, you have established only a system of waste, chaos, and uselessness.

 

It doesn’t take a genius to announce that you have elected to personally supervise the study of a broad range of new drugs. Yet, two years later, you are forced to admit you’ve barely begun.

 

It doesn’t take a genius to request, as you did, 126 new staff persons, receive only 11, and then keep your mouth shut about it.

US Postal Service suspends parcel deliveries to Australia

 

Australians awaiting deliveries from the United States may need to wait weeks or even months longer than expected.

 

The United States Postal Service has announced a temporary suspension on outgoing parcel services to 21 countries, including Australia, adding to delivery woes.

 

Australia Post initially updated its site on September 27, stating that the USPS had suspended parcel service due to “air freight capacity issues”.

The secret server was connected to the House Democratic Caucus, an organization chaired by then-Rep. Xavier Becerra. Police informed Becerra that the server was the subject of an investigation and requested a copy of it. Authorities considered the false image they received to be interference in a criminal investigation, the senior official said.

 

Data was also backed up to Dropbox in huge quantities, the official said. Congressional offices are prohibited from using Dropbox, so an unofficial account was used, meaning Awan could have still had access to the data even though he was banned from the congressional network.

Fear among members that Awan could release embarrassing information if they cooperated with prosecutors could explain why the Democrats have refused to acknowledge the cybersecurity breach publicly or criticize the suspects.

Each House member’s data is supposed to be stored on his own server, but Imran moved files to a computer that was only supposed to hold the files of the administrative office of the Democratic Caucus, the senior official said.

In the spring of 2016, House administrators became aware that the Awans were allegedly falsifying purchase orders. They followed the trail and found that the misconduct extended to a major cybersecurity breach.

Gregory Meeks of New York and Becerra — remained in office through 2016, and each of them later put two of Awan’s relatives on their payrolls as well, including his wife Alvi and brother Abid.

According to the court documents from their divorce proceedings, Jeri and Jack Ryan were married on June 15, 1991. They stayed together for over seven years before they separated in November of 1998. Their divorce was finalized in August of the next year. The record released as a result of The Chicago Tribune’s lawsuit pertained to the custody battle over their son, Alex.

If the court records from Ryan’s divorce hadn’t been released, the 2004 Illinois Senate race might have gone very differently. That race was a key turning point for Obama,who gained the attention of the Democratic elite during the campaign, as Chicago Magazine reported. Because the seat was crucial to Democratic control of the Senate, Obama was chosen for the keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention that year. That speech rocketed him from a no-name to a household name, paving the way for his 2008 presidential run.

Senate Judiciary Report on Trump and DOJ, Re: Election

 

So the Democrats gave the media a new toy today. The Democrat controlled Judiciary Committee published a report titled "Subverting Justice." Already the cheap thriller title tells you everything you need to know, that it's not serious in the least. No one titles a government report like that, well I guess Senate Dems do.

 

Anyway when dealing with large reports like that, it's true there's always juicy stuff in the details, and as it has just relatively dropped, I haven't been able to really get into those details. But also when it comes to Senate reports, you can get the gist of it through the summary and most importantly the recommendations at the end. When wrongdoing is found these recommendations contain criminal referrals for the DOJ.

 

The Durbin Report on Trump "Subverting Justice" has NO CRIMINAL REFERRALS I repeat zero, zilch, nada, it's a big fat goose egg. That means it's 300 plus pages of jack shit. Oh well, I still haven't read it, so there might be some nuggets, but doubt meter is high.

Nobel Prize in Chemistry goes to molecule-making duo=

Their research helped develop new drugs and made chemistry greener.

 

Scottish-born David MacMillan and German Bernard List were awarded this year’s Nobel Prize in Chemistry for creating a new tool for molecular construction, organocatalysis, that has had a big impact on pharmaceutical research. It’s the third Nobel awarded so far this year after Medicine and Physics.

Many industries rely on chemists to build molecules that can form durable materials, store energy in batteries and stop the progression of diseases. This requires catalysts, substances that control and accelerate chemical reactions. Even our body has plenty of catalysts in the form of enzymes, shaping the many molecules that are needed for life.

 

Researchers used to think that there were only two types of catalysts, metals and enzymes. But List and Macmillan showed this wasn’t necessarily the case. Instead, they created a third type of catalysis known as asymmetric organocatalysis. It’s a “simple and ingenious concept”, Johan Åqvist of the Nobel Committee for Chemistry said.

 

Looking into the research

 

When researching catalytic antibodies, List started to think about how enzymes work. They are big molecules built from amino acids, with a significant proportion that also have metals that drive chemical processes. But many enzymes can catalyze chemical reactions without metals, driven instead by one or a few amino acids in the enzyme.

 

This is when List asked himself whether amino acids had to be part of an enzyme so to catalyze a chemical reaction or if a single amino acid could do the same job. He recalledprevious research in the 1970s with an amino acid called proline was used as a catalyst. But he assumed this didn’t work well as he couldn’t find further studies.

 

Still, he tested if proline could catalyze an aldol reaction, in which carbon atoms from different molecules are linked together. It worked straight away. He proved proline is an efficient catalyst and that this amino acid can drive asymmetric catalysis. Proline is in fact a dream tool for chemists – simple, cheap, and environmentally friendly.

 

MacMillan realized that catalysts weren’t much used in industry and he assumed this was because sensitive metals were too difficult and expensive. He realized that he needed to rethink his whole approach and decided to stop looking at metals. Instead, he focused on designing simple organic molecules that could accommodate electrons.

 

He tested the molecules’ ability to drive a Diels-Alder reaction, used by chemists to build rings of carbon atoms. It worked perfectly. Some of the molecules were also very good at asymmetric catalysis. He then came up with the name organocatalysis to describe how chemical reactions could be catalyzed using small organic molecules.

 

A new concept for catalysis

 

List and Macmillan (alongside other researchers) went on to design many cheap and stable organocatalysts which can be used to drive many chemical reactions. These have led to more efficient molecular constructions, such as with the strychnine molecule. It first required 29 different chemical reactions but now it’s built-in just 12 steps thanks to organocatalysis.

 

This has also had a big impact on pharmaceutical research. Until chemists could do asymmetric catalysis, many pharmaceuticals contained both mirror images of a molecule. One was active, while the other could have unwanted effects.Now, thanks to organocatalysis, researchers can produce big volumes of asymmetric molecules much simpler.

 

“Benjamin List and David MacMillan remain leaders in the field, and have shown that organic catalysts can be used to drive multitudes of chemical reactions. Using these reactions, researchers can now more efficiently construct anything from new pharmaceuticals to molecules that can capture light in solar cells,” the Nobel academy wrote in a statement.

 

Previous winners in chemistry include Marie Curie and Fredick Sanger, who won twice. Last year’s winners were Emmanuelle Charpentier and Jennifer Dounda forcreating genetic “scissors” that can edit DNA.

Kennedy replied, “No, social media has become a killing field for the truth. Hate speech is – by hate speech I mean speech that incites violence, we know that’s prohibited.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is now defending the Biden administration’s proposal that would require banks to report ALL data to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on transactions over $600. With the NSA collecting every email, phone call, and text you make, and now the IRS will have every time you even pay rent or a car payment, they will know absolutely everything about everybody.

Yellen has the audacity to claim there will be $7 trillion of taxes on income over ten years that people will not pay taxes on. So what is that $30 trillion of $8 trillion in income? This is what I have been saying. They look at us, we the people, as the Great Unwashed who are nothing more than stupid cattle to be herded. There is no presumption of innocents. The conviction rate in federal court is 98%. You are presumed guilty at every stage and this data collection down to $600 is again a presumption of guilt. They do not trust us. We are their economic slaves. We have come full circle back to taxation WITHOUT representation.

Yellen pretends, oh, it really will not impact the average person, and that is absurd. It used to be $10,000 transactions, then the Patriot Act lowered that to $3,000, and now it will be $600. I was going to go to Singapore for a conference and to work there in the region with our many clients. I asked a friend there to find a nice furnished apartment rather than a hotel. He rented it for me, and I sent him a bank wire. When I showed up two months later, he said, “By the way, I never got that wire.” I called my bank to put a trace on it since it was deducted from my account. HSBC returned it the next day, as they were just sitting on it until someone asked.

HSBC refused to credit it to his account BECAUSE they could not verify that I had no interest in that account, for perhaps he was just a holder for me to hide money offshore. I had to physically write him a check. That is the new state of the world. I can ONLY wire money internationally to a business, but not to any individual.

And now that will be $600! If your child is in need of money because someone stole their credit card and wallet, will you be able to send them money urgently?

Yellen is calling this collection of information “routine,” which is the total end of all privacy. Did those who voted for Biden expect this too? When I bought a house in the nineties, I simply added my children on the deed. Today, you can’t do that. The IRS calls that income and wants their pound of flesh.

The Los Angeles City Council on Oct. 6 approved one of the strictest COVID-19 vaccination mandates in the country, requiring proof of vaccination to enter indoor restaurants, movie theaters, salons, shopping centers, and many more indoor venues.

 

People will have to provide vaccination proof at gyms, sports arenas, museums, spas, indoor government facilities, malls, restaurants, and bars. For people with religious or medical exemptions, negative COVID-19 tests within 72 hours of entry will be required, according to the ordinance, which doesn’t make mention of “natural immunity” afforded by a previous COVID-19 infection.

 

Unvaccinated individuals attempting to use government services will be provided with “alternative arrangements for access to government services,” including online or outdoor services, or providing proof of a negative test to enter, according to the ordinance.

 

Retail establishments such as grocery stores and pharmacies aren’t included.

If you got the mRNA, any reaction outside of 72 hours is not reportable as an adverse reaction, however you are not considered vaccinated until 14 days after your second shot. So all VAERS stats are based on a flawed and contradictory set of parameters.

Guess what the real VAERS stats would be if every adverse reaction prior to 14 days after jab #2 were tabulated.

Well, that's it. I have completed my shift as the great American cliché. In the spirit of what turned out to be my last New Year's letter, my wild and crazy life has again taken a new, unexpected turn with my shocking and unexpected, yet fabulous, exit. Yes, I have joined the likes of Princess Diana, John Belushi, and Steve Irwin the Crocodile Hunter in leaving while still at the top of my game as an iconic superhero who seemed almost too good to be true.

 

It was a good run. No, a great run, but I can't take all the credit. Northern Michigan University and my Lambda Chi Alpha brothers, Wayne State University Medical School, The United States Army, colleagues, various celebrities, random cartoon characters, people who make memes, Russians and other friends and family all contributed. As you know, my wife, Amy, and my kids Joey (14), Evelyn (13), and Sylvia (10) are the absolute best. Please take good care of them like the priceless treasures they are.

 

I will admit that I originally got married for the husband jokes and had kids for the dad jokes. It did not disappoint. The jokes I mean, but Amy and the kids were pretty good too. Going to school events, dance competitions, and eight zillion hockey practices at the crack of dawn really makes a man's life worthwhile. I also saw some other delightful things in my time here - Hawaiian volcanoes, Egyptian pyramids, and even the advent of air fryers. I will say, it was magical, all of it.

 

In case you've heard the rumors, I did dabble in a few other things along the way during my 48 years, like serving my country in combat on two separate tours, earning the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and saving countless lives as an accomplished surgeon and MD. Oh, there was also that whole, fulfilling, "cosmetic and reconstructive surgery" stint too. Yada, yada, yada. Let's talk about my real legacy, though…The dad jokes, the New Year's letters, the Facebook memes. What was I to this world if not a beacon of light shining upon those who couldn't scan the internet for their own hilarious and entertaining comic relief? I guess what I am trying to say is that you're welcome and you owe me big time.

 

I know it's impossible to believe, but I, the Ginger God of Surgery and Shenanigans, have fought my last cow (you're welcome Tim) and ridden off into the glorious sunset after re-enlisting with a new unit. (CNN) - Extreme, climate-fueled rainfall broke records this week in a part of Italy known for its rain and an area in Oman not known for rain at all.

 

On Monday, a series of storms put on the parking brakes over northwestern Italy, unleashing rainfall rates never before seen in all of Europe after over 29 inches (742 mm) of rain fell in just 12 hours. In Oman, a rare tropical cyclone dumped years' worth of rainfall, bringing deadly floods to the desert landscape that rarely sees much rain in an entire year.

 

Feet of rain in half a day

Italy's Genoa province, known for its natural beauty and rugged coastlines, became the epicenter for the most recent extreme rains.

A series of slow-moving storms stalled in the region Sunday into Monday, dumping over 36 inches (925 mm) of rain in the town of Rossiglione, about 60 miles (100 km) southwest of Milan.

 

For some context, 36 inches is roughly equivalent to the average rainfall one would expect in Seattle in a year. It would take London an average of 15 months to tally such rainfall. Dozens had to be rescued after reports of mudslides and flooding dotted the landscape, leading a bridge to collapse in the town of Quiliano, according to Milan news outlet Corriere della Sera.

 

Wet weather is not uncommon in this part of Italy, as the region averages over 50 inches (1,200 mm) of rain per year. However, the storm dropped nearly 30 inches (750 mm) in just 12 hours, setting a new European mark for the highest 12-hour rainfall on record, according to climatologist and extreme weather expert Maximiliano Herrera.

 

In the nearby town of Cairo Montenotte, about 20 miles (32 km) west of Rossiglione, weather records continued to fall by the wayside on Monday. A 6-hour deluge unlike any ever observed in Italy brought nearly 20 inches (500 mm) of rainfall, besting the national 6-hour record for all of Italy, Herrera noted.

 

Just a few miles to the east, the mind-bending rainfall also inundated the nearby town of Vicomorasso, after over 7 inches (180 mm) fell in just one hour, according to FloodList, an organization that documents significant flood events from around the world.

 

By comparison, remnants of Hurricane Ida swamped Central Park in early September after a record of 3.15 inches fell in just 1-hour, breaking the previous 1-hour record set just 11 days earlier when Tropical Storm Henri soaked the region.

 

Rain in the desert

The storm drenched the normally parched city of Al Khaburah with over 14 inches (300 mm) of rainfall in a matter of hours, according to The Times of Oman.

This is the equivalent of more than 3 years' worth of rainfall in about 24 hours. In the nearby town of Suwaiq, more than a years' worth of rain fell in just 6 hours. The storm produced a remarkable 4.57 inches (116 mm) of rainfall in a 6-hour span, exceeding what it typically sees in an entire year, according to Oman's Meteorological Department.
