CNBC anchor says it's 'dumb' for CEOs to make fun of the Chinese communist party: 'You're just asking for trouble'

 

CNBC anchor Melissa Lee said it was "dumb" for any business CEO to make fun of the Chinese communist party and added that they would be "just asking for trouble."

 

Lee made the comments on her show "Fast Money" on Wednesday. She was referring to an incident with JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimond who had to walk back a joke he made about the communist party in China.

 

"The Communist Party is celebrating its 100th year. So is JPMorgan," said Dimon at a speaking event in Boston, Massachusetts.

 

"And I'll make a bet we last longer!" he quipped.

 

"I can't say that in China," Dimon joked. "They probably are listening anyway."Dimon walked back the comments and apologized to China's leaders, prompting Lee to scold him for mocking the communist leadership when his company had so much financial advantage at stake in the communist country.

 

"I feel like for business people, particularly CEOs, there are three things that you never want to talk about, right? Lee's guests didn't disagree with her assessment and reiterated that it was foolish to mock the communist government of China when companies are seeking trade and markets in the massive nation.

 

Critics of the communist Chinese government have argued that opening up business opportunities in China has allowed an antagonistic regime to use its financial power to take advantage of American companies.

 

Some have stood up to the communist regime despite the risk of losing massive financial gain. Among the more laudable efforts are those of the World Tennis Association, which has demanded China answer for the disappearance of a professional tennis player who had accused a former Chinese official of sexual assault.

 

"We're definitely willing to pull our business and deal with all the complications that come with it," said World Tennis Association president Steve Simon.

 

"Because this is certainly, this is bigger than the business," he concluded. "Women need to be respected and not censored."

 

Others, like NBA basketball star Lebron James, have been publicly lambasted for appeasing China while calling on Americans to join anti-racism political movements at home.

Disturbing Details Emerge from Inside Australian Quarantine Camps

 

Details about life inside the Australian quarantine camps are beginning to leak out through the internet. Although the information cannot be directly verified, due to the importance of this issue, TheCOVIDWorld has decided to report on this story since it’s unlikely the Australian government is going to release such information themselves.

 

An anonymous poster has detailed their experiences in an Australian quarantine camp. The poster claims he was confined after flying into Australia from Singapore.

 

Despite being vaccinated and having taken 3 tests on his trip, which were all negative, he was forced to attend the camp.

 

In the post, the writer says that he was forced onto a bus with blacked-out windows by armed guards for a two-hour ride to the quarantine camp. Inmates are allegedly forced to take the vaccine, but also tested regularly and watched by cameras and armed guards. Detainees are charged $2,500 for their two-week involuntary stay.

 

Although the inmates have internet, which is presumably monitored, GPS is blocked, making them unable to determine exactly where they are. However, other posters suggested that he was imprisoned at the Howard Springs β€˜National Resilience Center’.

 

β€œThey asked me about if I was vaccinated, I declined to answer, they threatened me and told me to come with them and called for backup, I was questioned, told to follow them and I boarded a bus with others and we had to sit rows apart and we were brought here. Windows were blacked out.”

β€œThere was a girl here who fought a guard and we haven’t seen her for six days since then.”

 

Another anonymous poster claimed he was next door to a 77-year-old man who had recently drunk himself to death after being repatriated. He further claimed that detainees could only leave their rooms once every 3 days to do laundry, that there were armed police β€˜everywhere’, and that you would be yelled at if you stopped or walked too slow.

 

The poster does however report that the food is β€˜pretty good’ and dropped off to inmates once a day at 6 pm. They get one hot and two cold meals.

Nearly 3/4 of the World’s Dictators Receive US Weapons and Military Assistance

 

The US supports nearly 75% of the world’s dictators, autocracies, monarchies, military regimes, etc., with weapons, military training and money. Please remember this the next time someone tells you the US should do X or Y because such and such a nation is bad…

 

Comparing Freedom House’s list of Not Free nations to FY 2020 US overseas weapons sales, military training and financial assistance*, we find that of the 57 nations considered undemocratic, 42 receive weapons, training and/or money for their military and security services. This means 74% of the non-democratic nations of the world are supported militarily by the US. Interestingly, the remaining 15 nations are nearly all sanctioned. The world’s countries can be divided into two parts: those who buy/receive weapons from the US and those sanctioned. It seems like it’s a pretty simple arrangement.

 

74% is a slight increase from four years ago when Rich Whitney at Truthout utilized the Freedom House list and compared it to FY 2015 military assistance data. It is likely no surprise to anyone that US support for non-democratic governments increased under President Trump, but, to be fair, it was a minor increase. The hypocrisy and dissonance between stated US support for democracy, liberty and freedom, and how the US government conducts itself exists whether a Democrat or Republican is in the White House.

 

The list of nations is below. I have listed occupied territories with the nations that are occupying them; so, Gaza and West Bank are under Israel, Western Sahara is under Morocco, Tibet is under China, and Donbas and Crimea are under Russia. Also, please note, this list only includes nations not considered democracies. Nations that are listed as partly free or free by Freedom House, but are clear and gross violators of human rights, and that are recipients of US weapons, military training and military assistance funding, like Columbia, Honduras, India, Pakistan, Philippines, and Ukraine are not included.

New Records Cast Doubt On Hunter Biden’s Claim He Finally Divested From Chinese Private Equity Firm

 

Hunter Biden’s attorney told The New York Times on Saturday his client no longer holds any interest in his personal LLC that holds a 10% stake in a Chinese private equity firm.

But Chinese business records continue to state as of Wednesday afternoon that Hunter Biden’s personal company, Skaneateles LLC, holds a 10% stake in the Bank of China co-owned private equity firm, BHR Partners.

And business records obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation show that Hunter Biden remains the only listed governor and beneficial owner of Skaneateles LLC.

 

Hunter Biden no longer holds any interest in his personal LLC or the Chinese private equity firm BHR Partners, his attorney told The New York Times on Saturday, but new records obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation cast doubt on the claim.

 

Hunter Biden, through his company, Skaneateles LLC, obtained a 10% stake in BHR with a $420,000 investment in October 2017. White House press secretary Jen Psaki said as early as February that Hunter Biden was in the process of divesting his ownership stake in the firm, but Chinese business records continue to state as of Wednesday afternoon that Skaneateles remains a 10% owner of BHR

 

And while Chris Clark, a lawyer for Hunter Biden, told the New York Times that Hunter β€œno longer holds any interest, directly or indirectly, in either BHR or Skaneateles,” Washington D.C. business records for the LLC continue to list him as the only governor and beneficial owner for the company.

 

Hunter Biden was identified as the only governor for Skaneateles in the firm’s latest two-year report submitted to the Washington, D.C., Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) on Oct. 20, according to a copy of the filing obtained by the DCNF. The DCRA told the DCNF that the Oct. 20 filing, which incurred a $400 submission fee, was the most recent filing on hand for the company.

 

The DCRA’s public-facing online business registry continues to identify Hunter Biden as the only beneficial owner of Skaneateles as of Wednesday afternoon. However, the DCRA records also reflect that Skaneateles’ status is revoked, meaning that continued operation could result in fines unless the business is reinstated.

Interpol Elects Emirati General Accused of Torture as New President

 

Istanbul (AFP) – An Emirati general accused of torture was elected president of Interpol Thursday, despite the concerns of human rights organisations who fear the agency will be at risk of exploitation by repressive regimes.

 

The decision follows generous funding by the United Arab Emirates for the Lyon, France-based body and accusations Abu Dhabi has abused Interpol’s system of so-called β€œred notices” for wanted suspects to persecute political dissidents.

 

Emirati General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi was elected following three rounds of voting during which he received 68.9 percent of votes cast by member countries, Interpol said in a statement.

 

Raisi, head of the UAE’s security forces, will take on a largely ceremonial and voluntary role for a four-year term.

 

It is Interpol Secretary General Juergen Stock who handles day-to-day management of the organisation. Stock was given a second five-year term in 2019.

 

South Korean Kim Jong-yang was president since the 2018 arrest of his predecessor Meng Hongwei in China, where he had served as a vice minister of public security.

 

Complaints of β€œtorture” were filed against the Emirati general in recent months in France and Turkey, which is hosting Interpol’s general assembly in Istanbul this week.

 

Only the Czech Republic’s Sarka Havrankova, a veteran officer overseeing the country’s international cooperation in police matters, stood against the general for the post.

Raisi joined the Emirati police force in 1980 and worked there for several decades.

 

Three European Parliament members wrote a letter dated November 11 to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to warn of the impact the general’s appointment would have on Interpol.

 

β€œThe election of General Al Raisi would undermine the mission and reputation of Interpol and severely affect the ability of the organisation to carry out its mission effectively,” they wrote.

 

And in October 2020, 19 NGOs, including Human Rights Watch, expressed concern about the possible choice of Raisi, whom they described as being β€œpart of a security apparatus that continues to systematically target peaceful critics”.

 

One of the complainants against Raisi, British national Matthew Hedges, said he was detained and tortured between May and November 2018 in the United Arab Emirates after he was arrested on false charges of espionage during a study trip.

Trump Policy Cracking Down On Pedophiles Being Stopped By Biden

 

The Department's Office of Civil Rights (OCR) has proposed new rules to "retire" data sets, and the program is now up for 60 days of public comment.

Reporting alleged sex crimes in addition to documented cases are used to show the real prevalence, as in many cases, the accused may retire or quit before the cases play out.

 

Some critics maintain that the Education Department is making the changes to influence the will of teachers' unions.

The clinical trials of Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine found that the all-cause mortality rate of the vaccinated group was higher than that of the control group, months after the trials were launched, according to a recently released FDA report.

 

According to the report – which was released by the US Food and Drug Administration to provide background information on its questionable decision to grant full approval for the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 mRNA injection, after initially offering limited emergency use authorisation just six months after the vaccine’s clinical trial began – the total number of deaths reported in the vaccinated group was nearly one-quarter higher than the number of deaths in the placebo group.

 

Just under 22,000 participants were included in each group, with half receiving the coronavirus vaccine, and half receiving a saline solution injection.

 

The initial results of the clinical trials suggested a high-level of efficacy for the vaccine in preventing symptomatic cases of COVID-19, an in particular, serious illness from COVID – but lacked significant data on all-cause mortality, due to the short time-frame.

 

A follow-up assessment of participants completed on March 13th of this year looked at the overall health outcomes of the trial participants, six months after they received either the experimental vaccine or the saline solution injection.

 

While Pfizer released partial data on the outcomes from the six-month assessment ending March 13th, the new FDA report includes more comprehensive data, and shows a significantly higher number of all-cause fatalities among the vaccinated cohort.

 

The Pfizer report in late July of this year showed effectively equal all-cause fatality rates between the vaccine and placebo cohorts six months after the tests were conducted, with 15 deaths among the nearly 22,000 vaccine recipients, versus 14 deaths among the nearly 22,000 placebo recipients.

 

Most of the total 29 deaths in both groups were not related to Covid-19. Three fatalities were listed as being related to the virus; two in the placebo group and one in the vaccinated group.

 

The FDA report, however, revealed a larger number of deaths by all causes in both groups, with 17 deaths among the control group and 21 in the vaccinated cohort.

Shia LaBeouf’s infamous β€œHe Will Not Divide Us” flag has been destroyed, according to live-streaming footage- and nobody seems to care one bit.

In what nearly drove the child actor-turned adult actor, artist and activist over the edge on several occasions, the HWNDU project initially began as live feed of Shia and his supporters chanting β€œHe will not divide us” in front of a camera.

That was, of course, until 4chan came.

Initially doing just about any offensive thing they could think of in front of the cameras, the antics of /pol/ members eventually got LaBeouf to act irrationally, attacking several individuals and even sexually assaulting a person by kissing and licking him.

Eventually, LaBeouf was arrested, and the NYC-based museum who agreed to host the event pulled out.

When the initial project was closed at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York City, the project went to New Mexico, where it remained for a short time until the camera was tampered with (and someone pulled out a gun).

Eventually, the HWNDU team turned to the idea of flying a flag in a seemingly unidentifiable location, where it would be protected from vandals and those pesky internet message board users.

Proving that they were more than mere internet trolls, the 4chan users utilized a sophisticated location method to try and find the flag by crawling social media, analyzing the stars in the sky and even tracking aircraft flight patterns visible during the day.

Eventually, the flag was located in rural Tennessee, where it was seized and replaced with several items, including a β€œMake America Great Again” hat.

Impressively enough, the entire process -from initial post to capture- took a mere thirty-eight hours and fourteen minutes.

Seemingly unable to protest in the United States, Shia’s team moved the project to Liverpool, where the hosting museum quickly pulled the project after several intrusions took place on the roof of the structure (where the flag was flying), and a flood of internship and job applications from all over the world began inundating their servers.

At one point, the roof of the Liverpool location was breached, but due to the UK’s strict knife and sharp object laws, the 4chan-deployed intruders were unable to cut down the flag.

Despite being unable to remove the flag, the flag was forced to vanish, and 4chan considered the operation a success- and one that only cost them 25 hours of their time and energy.

Eventually, LaBeouf went to hide in a cabin at an undisclosed location in Finland, live-streaming the experience into the Kiasma museum in Helsinki, where museum-goers could communicate with the trio.

It went about as one would expect at this point: not only did 4chan harass LaBeouf from Helsinki (to include wearing MAGA hats and dancing to β€œShadilay” by the Italian band P.E.P.E.), they tracked down his remote location in less than a day, utilizing a cabin rental search, the kind of chairs in the cabin, the time of sunrise and weather patterns- all factors that led to location being found.

Leaving the cabin after his location was compromised, LaBeouf then handed the project to Luke Turner, who set the flag up in France, at the Le Lieu Unique culture center.

Not long after coming to France, the flag was nearly destroyed by a flaming drone dispatched by 4chan France operatives, who ultimately failed to destroy the flag before the drone crashed.

All the aforementioned incidents took place during the year 2017, and the flag was moved to Poland by summer of 2018.

Ironically, Poland has become a major ally of the United States during the era of the Trump Administration, and has considered setting up permanent US bases there.

Eventually, the flag returned to Le Lieu Unique, where it currently languishes on a pole atop the center, no longer readable or even recognizable as a flag.

What 4chan set it motion, it seems Mother Nature eventually finished. Tattered remains flutter aimlessly in the wind, neglected and forgotten.

In the end, what was once the HWNDU flag has been divided- from its native country, from the ravages of nature and from the public interest.

What "we" know, they would have you believe, is essentially nothing.

It was 4:35 p.m. in Waukesha, Wis., 34 days before Dec. 25. But the neighbors of this city west of Milwaukee were celebrating a Christmas parade moving through Main Street.

 

At the same time a few blocks away, an officer reported he had heard of a possible knife fight near the boat launch in Frame Park, according police audio and time codes provided by the website Broadcastify. Police arrived to the park minutes later but did not immediately find the fight. At 4:37 p.m., the officer clarified to say that the fight was by the rental business near the Rotary Building. It was not clear from the police audio if or when officers approached the second location.

 

A quarter-mile from the rotary building, at 4:39 p.m., an officer told a dispatcher a maroon Ford Escape β€œjust blew by [him]” at White Rock and Hartwell avenues, the intersection where barricades blocking traffic to the parade were removed just a minute before, according to police audio and time codes provided by Broadcastify.

Healthy Australian woman says she was forced into COVID quarantine camp for 14 days

 

'These COVID camps are real. It doesn’t matter if you’re fully-vaxxed, one-vaxxed or non-vaxxed: you can get sent to these camps if you’re a close contact,' said Haley Hodgson from her prison.

 

An Australian woman says she was taken to a quarantine facility and held there for 14 days against her will as punishment for failing to test against COVID and lying about it.

 

Haley Hodgson shared her ordeal in an interview with Monica Smit, founder of Australian news website Reignite Democracy Australia (RDA), a week ago when she was still in quarantine at the Howard Springs facility near Darwin, Northern Australia.

 

β€œThese COVID camps are real,” Hodgson told Smit.

 

β€œYou can get sent to those camps no matter what if you’re β€˜close contact’.”

 

The video was released only yesterday on RDA’s official website, as Hodgson feared that releasing it sooner might result in the extension of her stay at the quarantine camp.

 

Hodgson explained that she had been in β€œclose contact” with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

 

She recalled that health officials came to her house asking whether she knew the person who tested positive and if she had had a test done.

 

Hodgson initially lied about having had a test. When the Australian health authorities got back to her saying they couldn’t find her result, Hodgson admitted that she had failed to do a test.

 

β€œI was scared. I’ve been in quarantine before, [and] I just didn’t want to go back there,” Hodgson explained.

 

She then apologized to the health officers, saying, β€œI’m sorry that I lied.”

 

β€œThey said, β€˜No worries,’ and [before] they hung up the phone, they said, β€˜Someone will be there to test you in the next 20 minutes, so don’t leave your home,” Hodgson recalled.

 

Within 20 minutes the police were at her house. Hodgson said they told her that she had to go with them and that she was β€œgoing to Howard Springs to quarantine.”

 

Hodgson said she told the police that she had not been informed of this, and the police replied that if she refused to come, she would have to pay a $5000 fine (roughly $3600 U.S.).

 

She then agreed to follow the police officers and was escorted to a β€œCOVID cab” which took her to Howard Springs. On the way there, one of the police officers allegedly told Hodgson that she would need to quarantine for only 48 hours while awaiting the result of her COVID test.

 

But once at the facility, Hodgson said, she was informed that she would have to stay there for 14 days β€œno matter what” and that she β€œ[had] no choice.”

 

β€œSo, I’m here against my will,” the woman said.

 

Smit asked why Hodgson wasn’t given the option to self-quarantine at home, especially when the 7 to 10 other close contacts of the person who tested positive were all allowed to self-isolate at home.

 

β€œThat’s what I was [asking] them,” replied Hodgson.

 

β€œNow that I’ve found out, it’s because I said I had a test done when I hadn’t,” she continued.

Sydney Harbour lit up blue by rare bioluminescence display

 

Sydney Harbour has been lit up with a blue glow after a rare display of bioluminescence in the water.

 

The water normally reflects the glowing lights of the Opera House, Luna Park and the Harbour Bridge, however this week it was a little different.

 

The water had a blue sparkle due to bioluminescence, captured by Eddy Agcaoili.

 

Weatherzone said bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon where light is produced by a chemical reaction inside living organisms.

"In this case, the light was emitted by small organisms that were present in a dense bloom near the water's surface," Ben Domensino from Weatherzone said.

U.S. Army soldiers who remain unvaccinated and either have not requested an exemption or have had their exemption requests and appeals denied will be allowed to serve in spite of the Army’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate, but they will be barred from reenlistment or promotion.

 

In a November 16 memo obtained by Government Executive, Army Secretary Christine Wormuth laid out how the service will handle punishments for soldiers who defy the military-wide vaccine mandate. Wormuth’s memo authorized commanders to flag soldiers.

 

Soldiers who refuse the vaccine without an approved waiver will not be immediately separated from the service, but their military careers will be stalled out at their current ranks with no chance to serve beyond their current contract period.

 

Soldiers will also be barred from being issued awards and decorations, attending military or civilian schools, applying for tuition assistance and receiving bonuses and assuming command positions.

 

β€œThe Soldier will remain flagged until they are fully vaccinated, receive an approved medical or administrative exemption, or are separated from the Army,” Wormuth wrote.

Shia LaBeouf Flag Capture Is Nothing – 4Chan Once Called In An Airstrike

Members of the anonymous image board 4chan pulled off an impressive heist against actor and anti-Trump activist Shia LaBeouf yesterday: they stole LaBeouf's "He Will Not Divide Us" flag and replaced it with a MAGA hat.

 

Shia LaBeouf's anti-Trump art project had been fraught with difficulty since the beginning. The public project attracted as many supporters of Donald Trump as it did protesters, and heated confrontations around the exhibit led to Shia LaBeouf's arrest. The New York museum it was held at abandoned the project.

 

Eventually, LaBeouf moved the "He Will Not Divide Us" flag to an undisclosed location. He planned to livestream the flag continuously for the next four years of Trump's presidency, but less than 36 hours after the move, 4chan "trolls" had discovered the location of the flag and replaced it with a MAGA hat.

Documents on Imgur, archived posts, and YouTube videos explain how it happened. Using a training video of Syrian rebels that was posted to YouTube, 4chan users managed to find other videos and used Google Maps to match up landmarks and find the general location of the camp==.

 

It took extensive research, but 4chan finally located the latitude and longitude coordinates of the Syrian rebel training grounds.

 

The investigative process was similar to how 4chan located Shia LaBeouf's flag. In the Shia LaBeouf heist, posters listened to the sounds of animals, observed flight paths, and noted the time of sunset to accurately surmise the location of the "He Will Not Divide Us Flag." Against the Syrian rebels, 4chan noticed five circuit suspension towers and were able to triangulate the location against the position of the towers.

 

In both cases, additional media from the internet helped. TMZ reported that Shia LaBeouf was spotted flyfishing in Tennessee, and related YouTube videos meant that the 4chan investigators knew to look south of Aleppo on Google Maps.

At this point in the Syrian war, rebels occupied a strategically important hill near the Syrian capital and were poised for an offensive. If successful, they would take the city from Bashar al-Assad.

 

Ivan Sidorenko, a reporter with ties to Russia who was working behind enemy lines to cover the war in Syria, had posted a video of the training camp asking if anyone knew the location. A Russian-speaking 4chan user transmitted the coordinates to Ivan Sidorenko via Twitter. Sidorenko, who claimed to have connections to Russia's defense ministry, said that he would immediately transmit the information to Russia's Minister of Defense to verify the location for an airstrike.

 

Did Sidorenko really have a contact with the Russian military? Would an airstrike really happen?

 

And on June 6, 4chan members used the same technique to locate ISIS training facility near the Iraqi city of Mosul.

 

Members of this internet subculture often refer totheir online deviances online as being part of a "meme war," but if they are capable of calling in airstrikes, has it escaped the realm of memes?

A mining accident in Siberia has killed 52 people, including six rescue workers, Russian media have reported citing preliminary data from emergency services, with all the missing persons presumed dead.

Not a doctor but do not take 5000 IU Vitamin D3 daily for more than a few weeks. I took it for 4 months and my blood pressure went sky high all of a sudden and no type of bp med helped. They even seemed to make it worse. Finally, after 3 or 4 days with no D3 it's getting back to normal. Thank God.

Hey anons was wondering if anyone can help me with something especially from a Dentistfag. Not sure your exact symptoms meaning. But, the trouble comes when you have a root canal, you kill the tooth and therefore no longer have your natural fluids flowing through them to clean them. If it was just a filling, it isn't a dead tooth. If they were root canals I'd get em pulled. If it's a filling you should be alright. But given what you are asking, I would confront the dentist you went to and ask if maybe the filling wasn't fully hardened (as you had implied possible). They might not charge you if it's their fault.

With the first prototype of the craft complete, the company reportedly could begin manned flights "within three to six months.”

A US-based company called Zeva Aero has produced the first prototype of its single-person vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) electric flying craft that resembles the classic flying saucer design from the late 20th century, New Atlas reports.

According to the media outlet, the craft is essentially a carbon disc about 2.4 meters in diameter with a gross weight of some 317 kilograms.

Wasn't a dead tooth, the enamels on my front teeth were rotting so the nerve was being exposed. I have no pain, just a chemical plastic-y taste in my mouth as I mentioned that hasn't gone away for a month. Just worried if something from the filler is leeching into my body that might disturb my endocrine system later on.

 

I had my mercury fillings removed a while back when I stumbled down that rabbit hole but never had this toxic taste in my mouth with the filler they used to replace it.

 

Anyways still learned a lot here so thanks for the advice on ceramic fillers and no root canals.
