Zuckerberg Directly Implicated in Huge Backroom Deal in 2018: Law Enforcement Bombshell

 

An amended version of a lawsuit filed in December of 2020 by multiple states accuses the CEOs of Facebook and Google of being direct participants in what the suit says is an illegal agreement to corner the digital advertising market.

 

The lawsuit has claimed that Google and Facebook acted to throttle competition.

 

The lawsuit claims the tech giants agreed to decrease prices paid to publishers, cut out rivals and manipulate ad auctions, according to CNBC.

 

“Google understood the severity of the threat to its position if Facebook were to enter the market and support header bidding,” the complaint reads, according to MarketWatch. “To diffuse this threat, Google made overtures to Facebook.”

 

When the initial complaint was made public, the outlines of the allegations were complete, but the text of the lawsuit was heavily redacted.

 

The amended version was less so upon a judge’s order, allowing Americans to see that the coalition of states led by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton targets top tech officials in its case against the tech giants. Existing redactions black out names, but not titles.

 

Thus by following the titles, CNBC would learn that Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg, called the agreement “a big deal strategically” in an email that included CEO Mark Zuckerberg, whose name was also redacted. Sandberg and Google CEO Sundar Pichai both OK’d the terms, CNBC reported.

 

The New York Post, citing the lawsuit, reported that Zuckerberg and Pichai “signed off on the backroom deal in 2018, which allegedly guaranteed Meta subsidiary Facebook would both bid in — and win — a fixed percentage of ad auctions.”

 

“Facebook CEO [REDACTED] wanted to meet with COO [REDACTED] and his other executives before making a decision,” says the complaint, meaning Zuckerberg and Sandberg.

 

“We’re nearly ready to sign and need your approval to move forward,” Sandberg wrote Zuckerberg.

 

“Google CEO Sundar Pichai also personally signed off on the terms of the deal,” the lawsuit said, according to the Post.

 

The tech giants said they did nothing wrong.

Glenn Greenwald Exposes Deep State Effort To Stop Trump Pardoning Edward Snowden And Julian Assange

 

here was much speculation toward the end of Donald Trump’s term as president of the United States that Trump would pardon Edward Snowden, Julian Assange, or both of these men who were responsible for exposing vast amounts of wrongdoing by the US government. But, it did not come to pass. Why? Glenn Greenwald, who played a key role in helping Snowden expose information about the US government’s mass surveillance programs and who advocated in public and behind the scenes that Trump pardon both men, has some interesting thoughts about that.

 

The reason Trump failed to issue a pardon for either Snowden or Assange centers on the deep state trying to protect itself by placing Trump in jeopardy, suggested Greenwald last week in an episode of his System Update show.

 

In a written introduction for the episode, Greenwald notes that Trump, while president, had both “raised the possibility that he might pardon Snowden” and was “actively considering a pardon for Assange.”

 

Greenwald, in the introduction, zeros in on a recent interview of Trump by Candace Owens. In the interview, Trump stated he came “very close” to pardoning one of them but did not ultimately do so. Why? Trump said the reason was because Trump “was too nice” to issue the pardon.

 

Greenwald isn’t buying that explanation. He writes:

 

The question that obviously emerges from that answer: too nice to whom? To the U.S. security services — the CIA, NSA and FBI — which had spent four years doing everything possible to sabotage and undermine Trump and his presidency with their concoction of Russiagate and other leaks of false accusations to their corporate media allies? Too nice to the war-mongering servants of the military-industrial complex in the establishment wings of both parties who were the allies of those security services in attempting to derail Trump's America First foreign policy agenda? Too nice to John Brennan, James Clapper and Susan Rice, the Obama-era security officials most eager to see both Assange and Snowden rot in prison for life because they exposed Obama's spying crimes and the Democrats’ corruption in 2016? Trump's “I'm too nice” explanation is, shall we say, less than persuasive.

The video by the Youth Affairs Council of Victoria (YACVIC) features two teenage girls who go on a post-lockdown date to see a movie – but when asked to show their vaccination certificate, one says “my parents haven’t let me get vaccinated yet”.

 

“I mean, you’re over 14. You don’t actually need to get their permission,” the other girl says. “Wanna go do it now – go on a vax date?”

 

“That sounds fun,” the girl replies.

 

“After googling ‘vaccine clinic finder’, they found their nearest clinic,” the video text reads.

 

The girl then gets her Covid-19 vaccine, and the pair skip out of the clinic holding hands. “Live, Love, Jab for more cute dates in your life,” the video says.

 

The caption reads, “Pro tip: if you’re over 14, you can have your own Medicare card and consent to getting vax’d.”

 

A number of states including Victoria and NSW have removed parental consent requirements for young people in a bid to increase vaccination rates among 12- to 15-year-olds.

Not hard to read between the lines if you factor in the possibility that anyone who was involved in an insurrection against the US is not eligible for the presidency.

 

I thought at first that Trump was being hit by lawfare to try to make him a felon, but being a felon does not bar one from running for, being elected or assuming the Presidency. Figure in, too, looking back about how much bullshit went on over how many attended the Trump inaugural, how bad it would have looked if Trump's rally outdrew a Brandon inaugural. That may have been the real motive for the rally.

 

DS/Pelosi, then, decide to run the Capitol FF and scream insurrection to blame Trump. They may have needed dead bodies, too. Trump knew what as planned. Trump calling out Ashli Babbitt's killer yesterday tells me that incident isn't over yet. That may be where Pelosi overreached/overacted. AOC fear of death bullshit fits with that. Trump may not have reckoned with that, figuring pelosi was hoping the rally goers would injure Capitol personnel.

 

Yeah. Motive looking like Jan 6 was planned to frame Trump so he couldn't assume the Presidency in any situation. Trump said he told “the top person” at the Pentagon, who at the time was acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller, that the crowd was going to be massive based on the fact that “everybody I'd see” would say, ‘Oh, we're going to be at the rally. We're going to be at the rally.’”

FLAWED INTELLIGENCE, NOT BAD OPTICS: The events of the day, and the failure to have adequate reinforcements available to control the mob, have been exhaustively reviewed at two congressional hearings, with another planned for tomorrow to question Department of Homeland Security, FBI, and Pentagon officials for their side of the story.

 

But at a Feb. 23 hearing, former Capitol Hill Police Chief Steven Sund testified that Paul Irving, the House sergeant-at-arms, believed the security plan, which included 125 National Guard troops on standby, was adequate given the pre-rally intelligence.

 

“The Jan. 3rd assessment forecast that the protests were, quote, expected to be similar to the previous million MAGA march rallies that had taken place in November and December 2020,” Sund testified. “Every Capitol Police daily intelligence report between January 4th and January 6th, including on January 6th, forecast the chance of civil disobedience or arrest during the protests as remote to improbable.”

 

“Optics as portrayed in the media played no role whatsoever in my decisions about security. And any suggestion to the contrary is false,” Sund insisted. “We properly planned for a mass demonstration with possible violence. What we got was a military-style coordinated assault on my officers and a violent takeover of the Capitol building,” he said, calling the events he witnessed “the worst attack on law enforcement and our democracy that I have seen in my entire career.”

 

At no point during the Feb. 23 hearing, nor at a subsequent House Appropriations Subcommittee hearing two days later, was any testimony given or evidence submitted that indicated Nancy Pelosi had anything to do with the decision of how or when to deploy National Guard troops, either before or during the riot.

 

TWO MORE HEARINGS: The Senate Judiciary Committee will be hearing this morning from FBI Director Chris Wray, who will be pressed on whether the FBI provided adequate intelligence ahead of the Jan. 6 riot.

 

And tomorrow the Senate Rules and the Homeland Security committees will hold a joint hearing, but the only Pentagon officials testifying will be Robert Salesses, senior official performing the duties of the assistant secretary of defense, homeland defense, and global security, and Maj. Gen. William Walker, the commanding general of the D.C. National Guard.

 

Missing will be Chris Miller, who told Vanity Fair the criticism the Pentagon was slow to respond to requests for Guard troops was' “complete horses—.” “I gotta tell you, I cannot wait to go to the Hill and have those conversations with senators and representatives,” Miller said.But it looks like he won’t be called.

The formerchief of U.S. Capitol Police says security officials at the House and Senate rebuffed his early requests to call in the National Guard ahead of a demonstration in support of President Trump that turned into a deadly attack on Congress.

 

Former chief Steven Sund – who resigned his post last week after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called for him to step down made the assertions in an interview with The Washington Post published Sunday.

 

Sund contradicts claims made by officials after Wednesday's assault on Capitol Hill. Sund's superiors said previously that the National Guard and other additional security support could have been provided, but no one at the Capitol requested it.

 

Sund told the Post thatHouse Sergeant-at-Arms Paul Irving was concerned with the "optics" of declaring an emergency ahead of the protests and rejected a National Guard presence. He says Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Michael Stenger recommended that he informally request the Guard to be ready in case it was needed to maintain security.

 

Like Sund, Irving and Stenger have also since resigned their posts.

 

Sund says he requested assistance six times ahead of and during the attack on the Capitol.Each of those requests was denied or delayed, he says.

 

Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser also wanted a light police presence at the Capitol. She reportedly wanted to avoid a similar scenario as last summer, when federal forces responded to demonstrators opposed to police abuses who assembled near the White House.

A former top Department of Defense officialKash Patel, who knew exactly what went on up to and during the 1-6 riot/rally, CONFIRMED that the Trump administration tried to deploy the National Guard on January 6th. They were blocked, and it was done for political reasons.

 

The only reason not to deploy is incompetence or it’s for nefarious reasons. The FBI knew they might have a problem.

Glenn Greenwald Exposes Deep State Effort To Stop Trump Pardoning Edward Snowden And Julian Assange

There was much speculation toward the end of Donald Trump’s term as president of the United States that Trump would pardon Edward Snowden, Julian Assange, or both of these men who were responsible for exposing vast amounts of wrongdoing by the US government. But, it did not come to pass. Why? Glenn Greenwald, who played a key role in helping Snowden expose information about the US government’s mass surveillance programs and who advocated in public and behind the scenes that Trump pardon both men, has some interesting thoughts about that.

 

The reason Trump failed to issue a pardon for either Snowden or Assange centers on the deep state trying to protect itself by placing Trump in jeopardy, suggested Greenwald last week in an episode of his System Update show.

 

In a written introduction for the episode, Greenwald notes that Trump, while president, had both “raised the possibility that he might pardon Snowden” and was “actively considering a pardon for Assange.”

 

Greenwald, in the introduction, zeros in on a recent interview of Trump by Candace Owens. In the interview, Trump stated he came “very close” to pardoning one of them but did not ultimately do so. Why? Trump said the reason was because Trump “was too nice” to issue the pardon.

 

Greenwald isn’t buying that explanation. He writes:

 

The question that obviously emerges from that answer: too nice to whom? To the U.S. security services — the CIA, NSA and FBI — which had spent four years doing everything possible to sabotage and undermine Trump and his presidency with their concoction of Russiagate and other leaks of false accusations to their corporate media allies? Too nice to the war-mongering servants of the military-industrial complex in the establishment wings of both parties who were the allies of those security services in attempting to derail Trump's America First foreign policy agenda? Too nice to John Brennan, James Clapper and Susan Rice, the Obama-era security officials most eager to see both Assange and Snowden rot in prison for life because they exposed Obama's spying crimes and the Democrats’ corruption in 2016? Trump's “I'm too nice” explanation is, shall we say, less than persuasive.

 

In the System Update episode, Greenwald further explains that Trump’s enmity toward these deep state forces that helped lead Greenwald and many other individuals to think that Trump may issue the pardons:

 

Now the argument for why President Trump not only should have pardoned Julian Assange and Edward Snowden, but why some of us believed there was a chance that he could didn't rely on the benevolence of President Trump. It relied on the fact that he knew better than anybody how deceitful and abusive and dangerous these agencies are. The agencies that were exposed by Snowden and Assange and the ones that were demanding that they be imprisoned forever. He knew, as well as anybody, the treachery and the illegal interference in our domestic politics because he was one of their targets.

 

Yet, the pardons did not materialize. Why? Greenwald states that Greenwald “knew that Trump wanted to pardon Edward Snowden and had strongly considered pardoning Julian Assange.” But, continues Greenwald, Trump “got scared into pardoning neither of them for reasons I'm about to explain to you.” Greenwald then argues that ultimately Trump gave in to deep state pressure applied through Republican Senators’ threat to convict Trump on the impeachment brought against him in his final weeks in office. Says Greenwald:

 

They were making very clear to him explicitly clear Republican senators like Lindsey Graham and Marco Rubio and Mitch McConnell that if you do any of those things that you are considering doing, pardoning Assange and Snowden, declassifying JFK files, declassifying other secrets that should have been declassified long ago because they're from decades old treachery on the part of the US government, we will vote to impeach you. They had this leverage the sword of Damocles hanging over his head….

 

“This is the story of why the deep state yet again got its way,” concludes Greenwald in his System Update episode, “even with a person in the White House who knows firsthand just how evil and destructive and toxic they are.”

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea on Monday fired at least one suspected ballistic missile into the sea in its fourth weapons launch this month, officials in South Korea and Japan said, with the apparent goal of demonstrating its military might amid paused diplomacy with the United States and pandemic border closures.

 

South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff didn’t immediately say whether the projectile was ballistic or how far it flew. Japan’s Prime Minister’s Office said it detected a possible ballistic missile launch from North Korea, but didn’t immediately provide more details.

 

Japan’s Coast Guard issued a statement urging vessels traveling around the Japanese coast to watch out for falling objects but no immediate damage to vessels or aircraft were reported.

 

The launch came after the North conducted a pair of flight tests of a purported hypersonic missile on Jan. 5 and Jan. 11 and also test-fired ballistic missiles from a train Friday in an apparent reprisal over fresh sanctions imposed by the Biden administration last week for its continuing test launches.

 

North Korea has been ramping up tests in recent months of new missiles designed to overwhelm missile defenses in the region.

 

Some experts say North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is going back to a tried-and-true technique of pressuring the U.S. and regional neighbors with missile launches and outrageous threats before offering negotiations meant to extract concessions.

Dick Morris, a onetime top adviser to former President Bill Clinton, says there’s a “good chance” of a 2024 rematch between Hillary Clinton and ex-President Donald Trump.

 

Morris said Sunday that if Democrats lose control of Congress in the 2022 midterm elections, President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will be toast — paving the way for a second Hillary bid, with husband Bill playing an architect to her strategy.

 

“There’s a good chance of it,” said Morris, referring to a Hillary-Trump rematch, to John Catsimatidis on the radio host’s WABC show.

 

“Hillary has set up a brilliant strategy that nobody else is able to do,” Morris added. “Knowing the people around her, I believe there is only one person capable of that level of thinking — and that’s her husband, Bill.

 

“The second the election is over … every Democrat is going to take a shot at Biden and Harris. They will be DOA,” Morris said.

 

Meanwhile, at a time when no Democrats are publicly criticizing Biden, Clinton has been warning her party about aligning itself with the policies of progressive Democrats.

Capitol Police rejected offers of federal help to quell mob

Three days before supporters of President Donald Trump rioted at the Capitol, the Pentagon asked the U.S Capitol Police if it needed National Guard manpower. And as the mob descended on the building Wednesday, Justice Department leaders reached out to offer up FBI agents. The police turned them down both times, according to senior defense officials and two people familiar with the matter.

Despite plenty of warnings of a possible insurrection and ample resources and time to prepare, the Capitol Police planned only for a free speech demonstration.

Still stinging from the uproar over the violent response by law enforcement to protests last June near the White House, officials also were intent on avoiding any appearance that the federal government was deploying active duty or National Guard troops against Americans.

The result is the U.S. Capitol was overrun Wednesday and officers in a law enforcement agency with a large operating budget and experience in high-security events protecting lawmakers were overwhelmed for the world to see. Four protesters died, including one shot inside the building.

The rioting and loss of control has raised serious questions over security at the Capitol for future events. The actions of the day also raise troubling concerns about the treatment of mainly white Trump supporters, who were allowed to roam through the building for hours, while Black and brown protesters who demonstrated last year over police brutality faced more robust and aggressive policing.

“This was a failure of imagination, a failure of leadership,” said Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo, whose department responded to several large protests last year following the death of George Floyd. “The Capitol Police must do better and I don’t see how we can get around that.”

Acevedo said he has attended events on the Capitol grounds to honor slain police officers that had higher fences and a stronger security presence than what he saw on video Wednesday.

Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy said that as the rioting was underway, it became clear that the Capitol Police were overrun. But he said there was no contingency planning done in advance for what forces could do in case of a problem at the Capitol because Defense Department help was turned down. “They’ve got to ask us, the request has to come to us,” said McCarthy.

U.S. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund, under pressure from Schumer, Pelosi and other congressional leaders, was forced to resign. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell asked for and received the resignation of the Sergeant at Arms of the Senate, Michael Stenger, effective immediately. Paul Irving, the longtime Sergeant at Arms of the House, also resigned.

Former Acting Inspector General for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Pleads Guilty to Scheme to Defraud the U.S. Government

Charges Involve Theft of Proprietary Software

 

A former Acting Inspector General for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Office of Inspector General (DHS-OIG) pleaded guilty today to federal charges stemming from the theft of proprietary software and sensitive databases from the U.S. government.

 

According to court documents, Charles K. Edwards, 61, of Sandy Spring, Maryland, executed a scheme to steal confidential and proprietary software from the government. Edwards worked for DHS-OIG from February 2008 until December 2013, including as Acting Inspector General. Prior to DHS-OIG, he worked at the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General (USPS-OIG). At both agencies, Edwards had access to software systems, including one used for case management and other systems holding sensitive personal identifying information of employees.

 

After leaving DHS-OIG, Edwards founded Delta Business Solutions Inc., located in Maryland. From at least 2015 until 2017, he stole software from DHS-OIG, along with sensitive government databases containing personal identifying information of DHS and USPS employees, so that his company could develop a commercially-owned version of a case management system to be offered for sale to government agencies.

 

Edwards pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to conspiracy to commit theft of government property and theft of government property. A second defendant in the case, Murali Y. Venkata, 56, of Aldie, Virginia, has pleaded not guilty to charges and his case remains pending. Edwards will be sentenced at a later date. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

 

Assistant Attorney General Kenneth A. Polite Jr. of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division, U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves for the District of Columbia, Inspector General Dr. Joseph V. Cuffari of DHS-OIG and Inspector General Tammy Whitcomb of USPS-OIG made the announcement.

 

Senior Litigation Counsel Victor R. Salgado of the Criminal Division’s Public Integrity Section and the Public Corruption and Civil Rights Section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia are prosecuting the case.

 

An indictment is merely an allegation, and Venkata is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

“The latest data from NSW Health shows that in this Omicron wave, if you are not fully vaccinated, you are six times more likely to end up in hospital and 13 times more likely to end up in ICU," he said.

Former US president falsely claims white people being denied vaccines, sent to back of line for therapeutics; indicates he won’t endorse candidates who accept 2020 results

 

Donald Trump rallied his faithful in Arizona on Saturday, rehashing yet again his unfounded claims that the US presidential election was stolen from him, and stirring racial tensions.

 

After abandoning a pledged press conference on January 6 — the anniversary of the invasion of the Capitol by his supporters — the defeated former president was back in front of a sympathetic crowd for the first time since October.

 

At the rally in Florence, a rural area outside Phoenix, Trump seeded racial resentments in remarks that twisted the facts on public-health policy and exaggerated the effects of racially conscious antiviral treatment guidelines in New York, falsely claiming that public health authorities are denying the COVID-19 vaccine to white people because of their race.

 

“The left is now rationing lifesaving therapeutics based on race, discriminating against and denigrating … white people to determine who lives and who dies. If you’re white you don’t get the vaccine or if you’re white you don’t get therapeutics. … In New York state, if you’re white, you have to go to the back of the line to get medical health,” Trump said.

 

There has been no evidence that white people are being excluded from vaccines, of which there is a plentiful supply. And there is no evidence they are being sent to the “back of the line” for COVID-19 care as a matter of public health policy.

 

Trump’s words distorted a New York policy that allows for race to be one consideration when dispensing oral antiviral treatments, which are in limited supply. The policy attempts to steer those treatments to people at the most risk of severe disease from the coronavirus.

 

It says that nonwhite race or Hispanic ethnicity “should be considered a risk factor” because long-standing health and social inequities make people of color more likely to get severely ill or die from the virus.

 

Trump extrapolated from that to assert wrongly that white people are being forced to “the back of the line” for health care and being shut out both from vaccines and therapeutics.

 

Michael Lanza, a New York City Health Department spokesman, told the New York Post that race is not used to deny treatment.

 

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found late last year that Black, Hispanic and Indigenous people were about twice as likely to die from COVID-19 than non-Hispanic whites and were notably more likely to be hospitalized. An earlier Associated Press analysis of the pandemic’s first waves found that COVID-19 was taking a disproportionately heavy toll on Black and Hispanic people.

 

CDC research in October reported that people in certain ethnic and racial minority groups were dying from COVID-19 at younger ages and a report from the institution Friday said minorities are less likely to receive outpatient antiviral treatment than whites.
