South Carolina congressional candidate Katie Arrington is in the hospital with serious injuries after being involved in a fatal car wreck Friday night.

 

Arrington was traveling on a highway in the passenger seat when another driver traveling in the wrong direction struck the car carrying her and a friend, her campaign said on Twitter. She and her friend were driving to Hilton Head, where Arrington was scheduled to receive an award Saturday morning, her campaign said.

 

According to her campaign, Arrington suffered a fracture to her back, broken ribs, and a partial collapse of the main artery in her legs. She will have to undergo “major surgery” to remove a portion of her small intestine and a portion of her colon, and will require a stent in the main artery in her legs.

There was a really stupid horror movie back in the early 1970s when land-line telephones were still king. The tag line was "the calls are coming from inside the house!"

Infowars founder Alex Jones told a Texas courtroom on Wednesday that he now understands the massacre of 26 people at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut, in 2012 was “100% real” and not “a giant hoax,” as he has maintained for years.

 

"Especially since I've met the parents. It's 100% real," Jones said at his trial on Wednesday.

 

“I truly, when I said those statements, when I say something I mean it, that I really could believe that it was totally staged at that point,” Jones said, adding that he was influenced by Steve Pieczenick, a former State Department adviser turned purveyor of conspiracy theories.

 

However, he then tried to spin the story and make himself the victim, saying the media “ran with lies that I was saying it wasn’t real.”

 

“It’s incredible, they won’t let me take it back,” he said. “They just want to keep me in the position of being ‘the Sandy Hook man.’”

 

The defamation trial had been brought by Neil Heslin and Scarlett Lewis, whose son Jesse Lewis was among those killed by gunman Adam Lanza in the Sandy Hook shooting. According to Jones’ prior claims, no one had been killed at Sandy Hook and those seen mourning were “crisis actors” who were part of a US Department of Homeland Security drill.

 

"I am a mother first and foremost and I know you are a father. My son existed," Lewis said to Jones during her testimony. "I am not deep state … I know you know that … And yet you're going to leave this courthouse and say it again on your show."

 

“Do you think I’m an actor?” Lewis asked Jones at one point. Jones told her that he didn’t, but was admonished by the judge for speaking out of turn.

 

They are seeking $150 million in damages from Jones in response to the suffering, death threats and harassment they’ve endured as a result of what Jones has said on his radio show.

 

Jones has been forced to pay damages to several other families of Sandy Hook victims and declared bankruptcy in April as a result.

These Harm-Reduction Facilities Are Slated for Biden Administration Grants. They’re Also Distributing Crack Pipes.

 

Two Maine organizations slated to receive funding from a controversial Biden administration grant program for groups that support a "harm reduction" approach to drug treatment are actively distributing crack pipes to addicts, the Free Beacon learned at visits to these sites.

 

The Church of Safe Injection, which bills itself as a "nonprofit that fights for the health, rights, and dignity of people who use drugs (PWUD)," will receive funding through a $1.2 million grant the Biden administration awarded to a coalition of Maine groups. A Free Beacon reporter last week picked up a crack pipe and meth pipe at its Lewiston, Maine, office. The organization did not provide a smoking kit, which often includes a mouthpiece, copper wool, and alcohol wipes along with the pipe.

 

Maine Access Points, another organization set to receive funding through the grant, provided a Free Beacon reporter a bag of a dozen crack pipes in Sanford, Maine, along with foil and a smoking kit that contained a mouthpiece, copper scrubber, lip balm, and instructions on how to smoke crack cocaine. The organization also handed out three meth pipes, a snorting kit, naloxone, fentanyl test strips, and a condom. Maine Access Points has a phone number for each of its five harm reduction facilities in the state. When a Free Beacon reporter texted to ask if the Sanford location distributed crack pipes, an employee responded, "Yes💯😊🥰."

 

The explanation emerging from the organizations—which cop to distributing crack pipes and receiving taxpayer funding, but insist they are not using taxpayer funds to purchase the crack pipes—paints a far messier picture than the Biden administration's haughty dismissal of initial reports on the grant program as "misinformation."

 

When the Free Beacon reported in February that the Biden administration was set to fund the distribution of crack pipes through a harm-reduction program intended to advance "racial equity," Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra—facing blowback—said that "no federal funding will be used directly or through subsequent reimbursement of grantees to put pipes in safe smoking kits." Likewise, former White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that crack pipes were "never a part of the kit" and that "we don't support federal funding, indirect or direct, for pipes."

 

The two Maine groups that provided the Free Beacon crack pipes did so separately from their smoking kits. This distinguished the groups from the five harm reduction locations along the East Coast that provided the Free Beacon with crack pipes within their smoking kits.

 

A spokeswoman for the Church of Safe Injection, Zoe Brokos, told the Free Beacon that the organization has yet to receive the federal funds it was awarded, and plans to use them to purchase "wound care kit supplies such as alcohol pads, gauze pads, and bandages." Brokos added that her organization will continue to distribute crack pipes and meth pipes but will not use federal grants to fund them.

 

Maine Access Points did not respond to a request for comment.

 

Church of Safe Injection and Maine Access Points—in collaboration with MaineHealth, the state's largest health system, and Amistad, a peer support group for drug addicts—are using the taxpayer-funded grants to facilitate the distribution of drug paraphernalia in each of Maine's 16 counties, with a focus on LGBT and homeless drug users, according to HHS grant information. The grant is set to be renewed annually through 2023.

 

Although Church of Safe Injection and Maine Access Points help oversee the HHS grant award funds, the department omitted the two harm reduction groups from the grant recipient announcement, listing only MaineHealth. A local CBS affiliate reported in June that both harm reduction groups are grant recipients, and the groups celebrated the award funding in separate Facebook posts. The government's omission raises questions as to why the groups were left off the Biden administration's list of grant recipients.

 

An HHS spokesman told the Free Beacon that the federal funds have yet to be used by either harm reduction organization.

 

"As we have said, harm reduction grant dollars cannot be used to purchase pipes. Federal law prohibits the sale or offer of drug paraphernalia," the spokesman said. "The harm reduction grant dollars, while awarded, have not yet been withdrawn by the organizations in question."

 

The White House did not respond to requests for comment.

Graham Phillips: British Reporter Is Exiled and Has His Banking Accounts Frozen for Telling the Truth

 

An unremarkable Turkish café-takeaway in London, with its slowly turning rolls of doner lamb and chicken, was a strange setting for the meeting. Graham Phillips, a YouTube journalist, had organised a fund-raising event at a hall in Islington, seeking contributions for a drone and other equipment. He had briefly returned from the Donbas region of Ukraine, where the government was using military force to suppress an alleged separatist movement. This was an untold story in Western mainstream media, and Phillips wanted to do more than basic recordings with his mobile phone. He also wanted to encourage others to come out to Donetsk, where he was based, to see and share the reality.

 

However, Ukrainian nationalists heard about this, and the hall owner cancelled the booking. A sign on the door redirected people to a nearby pub, where Phillips was intending to use the function room. This too was stopped when the landlord received threats. And so those who remained gathered in the kebab shop. It was a mixed crowd: Eurosceptics, Stop the War activists, Russian emigrants – and possibly MI6. Phillips began his address, showing photographs of dead or injured civilians, but was heckled by a smartly-dressed man shouting: ‘those people are terrorists’. Phillips demanded that he leave, and the two adversaries almost came to fisticuffs until they were separated by my friend and others.

 

This was back in 2015, when Phillips was already a thorn in the side to the Russophobic establishment. He has spent years with the Donetsk people’s militia, men (and some women) who took up arms against their oppressors, having military experience from conscription in their youth, or defectors from the Ukrainian army.

 

Phillips earned respect from his hosts for his bravery in reportage, accompanying fighters as bullets whizzed past. He was on the frontline of the Battle of Debaltseve, a vital road and rail junction where government troops were forced to retreat after three weeks of street fighting, with heavy losses on both sides.

 

When the Kiev government broke the Minsk accords in 2014 and 2015, the West did nothing. It was not until this year that Putin’s patience finally ran out. By then, about fourteen thousand had died in the uneven conflict. Aware of a coming offensive by the heavily armed Ukrainian forces, the Russians moved into the Donbas, supported by the resistance in Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts.

 

Phillips, like his American counterpart Patrick Lancaster, filmed the scenes and interviewed citizens which Western media failed to cover. If you took the BBC for the truth, you wouldn’t know that Russian soldiers are treated as saviours by residents of cities such as Mariupol and Sevierodonetsk, Showing the trail of destruction after its retreat, Phillips accused the Ukrainian army of war crimes: civilians who tried to evacuate were beaten by the Azov Battalion who blocked all exit roads with destroyed cars (this video was deleted by YouTube).

When British mercenary Aiden Aslin was captured and prosecuted by the self-declared Donetsk People’s Republic, British media cried foul. When Phillips interviewed the prisoner (with his consent) Tory ministers accused him of a war crime. The Geneva Convention, as they should know, does not apply to mercenaries, who are fair game for captors. In July the UK government included Phillips in its sanctions against Russia and perceived accomplices.

 

By contrast to other enemies of the state, Phillips has had it easy. Unlike Julian Assange and Tommy Robinson, also persecuted for speaking truth to power, he was abroad and untouchable. Instead, Liz Truss’ would-be war office at Westminster froze his assets and blocked his bank account. This is a radical and dangerous development in our political and social history, although it was given limited attention on mainstream media, apart from outspoken Mail on Sunday columnist Peter Hitchens.

Russia accuses Ukraine of mistreating POWs

 

The Russian Defense Ministry provided details of what it called Kiev’s abysmal treatment of captives

 

Moscow has scrupulously observed the Geneva Conventions on the treatment of prisoners, while the government of Ukraine has tortured, starved and deprived of medical care the Russian soldiers in its captivity, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed on Wednesday. The West’s unwillingness to hold Kiev accountable has resulted in violations and outright crimes, Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin told reporters.

 

Russia has taken “painstaking” steps to observe the Geneva Convention on the treatment of POWs, among them holding more than 40 weekly meetings with representatives of the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and establishing a medical commission on seriously ill and injured prisoners. So far, 18 such prisoners were sent back to Ukraine, General Fomin said.

 

There have also been 27 exchanges of POWs and the bodies of dead servicemen, while the ICRC has received more than 1,500 letters home from the Ukrainian prisoners. Detained Ukrainian soldiers can also make phone calls to their families, Fomin said, all in accordance with Article 71 of the convention.

 

Fomin’s press conference came after the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine said it was appalled by a video allegedly showing a Russian soldier castrating a bound and gagged Ukrainian captive. In a statement on Friday, the commission reminded everyone that “torture and summary executions of prisoners of war” are war crimes. The Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s office has launched an investigation into the video, to establish where and when it might have taken place.

 

The Russian general did not address the video directly. He did, however, say that while Russia has treated its prisoners in full accordance with international law, Ukraine has not.

 

According to a survey of exchanged service members, both Russian and those of the Donbass republics, 81% of the prisoners were subjected to beatings and other physical violence, while 55% were forced to film propaganda videos. Some 46% received no medical care, 79% were given no opportunity to contact relatives, and 19% were given poor or insufficient meals.

 

One detention center, run by the Ukrainian security service SBU in Kiev, gave captives only 50 grams of porridge, a piece of bread and a glass of water a day, while keeping them blindfolded.

 

Fomin also brought up videos circulating online showing “torture and abuse,” as well as extrajudicial executions and “monstrous acts of violence” against Russian and Donbass POWs. “Ukrainian Nazis” have also attempted to extort the families of captives for ransom, he said.

 

Russia has regularly informed the international humanitarian structures of Ukraine’s behavior, with requests to influence the Kiev government, but to little or no effect, Fomin said.

 

In addition to the mistreatment of prisoners, according to the Russian military, Ukrainian forces have been using civilians as human shields, as well as using Western-supplied weapons and banned ordnance – such as cluster munitions and landmines – to target civilians in the Donetsk and Lugansk republics. The international community has turned a blind eye to these atrocities, Fomin said, allowing them to continue.

Rep. Ralph Norman: Biden admin 'sold out' on Iran deal

Republican South Carolina Rep. Ralph Norman on Wednesday said the Biden administration had "set a low bar with corruption" and that the government had "sold out" in its efforts to secure a nuclear deal with Iran.

 

Appearing on the "Just the News, Not Noise" television show, Norman told cohosts John Solomon and Amanda Head that the Department of Homeland Security was attempting to conceal damaging information from watchdogs and the public.

 

"The DHS under [Alejandro] Mayorkas sent a minute memo out, asking the Border Patrol agents to withhold information from the Office of Inspector General," he began. "All the time, we've seen the highest numbers ever, of illegal immigrants in April and May. 200,000 in June. They don't want this information out."

 

"[F]or Mayorkas to promote this is sad, and we can't, you can't tolerate it," Norman asserted. "That's why the letter went out. And we're gonna stay on this until they answer but he's never answered before. So, we'll see what he does now."

 

The Republican then pivoted to discuss the administration's pursuit of a renewed nuclear agreement with the Iranian government, lamenting the generous terms Biden appears poised to offer Tehran.

 

"Well, you know, they've sold out. I mean, there's no other way to consider what they've done with Iran, basically give them uranium giving them nukes to fight this country and other countries that represent freedom," he said. "And [the] Democratic Party, you don't hear anything out of any criticism coming from any of them."

 

"[T[his is such a dangerous time with a feckless administration, who is begging foreign countries not only to sell us oil, but giving Iran a seat at the table with negotiations. For us, and along with Russia, it makes no sense. And just shows you how off base and how un-American this administration is," Norman asserted.

 

He went on to address the results of the Tuesday evening primary elections, pointing to the defeat of Michigan Republican Rep. Peter Meijer as evidence of former President Donald Trump's continued influence in the party.

 

"The Meijer defeat was was pretty big. And I think you'll see a string of them. It's a, you know, people saw the results under Donald Trump. People saw that he loved the country, the economy was doing well," he insisted. "He put priorities in place, the military was strong. Countries would never do [that] to Donald Trump, what they're doing to Joe Biden now because they see him as a weak, ineffective leader.

 

"And so the Trump endorsement is huge. And it was in South Carolina, I know it will be all over the country, you don't have a 97% success rate for no reason people see through it. They've dismissed the mainstream media because they're not really to be honest with you not relevant anymore. So Donald Trump's brand is alive and well today," he concluded.

Republican Congresswoman Jackie Walorski, from Indiana, died in a car crash Wednesday. The Elkhart County Sheriff's office confirmed she was one of four victims in a car crash this afternoon. Her communications director Emma Thomson and the St. Joseph County Republican Chair Zachery Potts were also killed. Thomson, 28, was a Washington, D.C. resident and Potts, 27, lived in Mishawaka, Indiana. Walorski, 58, and her two aides were driving southbound in Elkhart County, Indiana when a northbound vehicle crossed over the line and collided with their vehicle head-on. The driver of the northbound car, Edith Schmucker, 56, was also killed.

Senate witness cites Fauci for 'repeated demonstrably false' denials of gain-of-function research

 

Rutgers molecular biologist Richard Ebright has previously accused NIAID and NIH directors of lying to the public.

 

 

In a Senate hearing on gain-of-function (GoF) research on viruses, which some scientists believe is responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic, longtime National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci came in for particular scorn.

 

Dr. Fauci has made "untruthful" statements on "repeated occasions to the public, to the press and to policymakers," Rutgers University molecular biologist Richard Ebright told the Senate Homeland Security Emerging Threats Subcommittee at a hearing Wednesday chaired by ranking member Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), according to the Daily Caller.

 

"I do not understand why those statements are being made because they are demonstrably false," Ebright continued, explaining that GoF research creates "new health threats … that did not exist previously and that might not have come to exist by natural means for tens, hundreds, thousands, or tens of thousands of years."

 

At a May 2021 hearing of the Senate Health Committee, Fauci unequivocally denied a claim by Paul that the National Institutes of Health funded gain-of-function research at a Chinese lab widely suspected to be the source of SARS-CoV-2. NIH "has not ever and does not now fund gain of function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology," Fauci declared. He further denied that University of North Carolina virologist Ralph Baric was doing GoF research, while at the same time allowing that if he was, "it is according to the guidelines and is being conducted in North Carolina, not in China.”

 

It's at least the second time Ebright has accused Fauci of lying, though previously he included Fauci in a group of lying officials.

 

NIH Principal Deputy Director Lawrence Tabak told the House Oversight Committee last fall that NIH-funded research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology using a modified bat coronavirus made mice "sicker" than the original virus, an "unexpected result of the research."

 

Ebright said at the time this showed Fauci and NIH Director Francis Collins made "untruthful assertions" about not funding GoF research.

 

"The NIH received the relevant documents in 2018 and reviewed the documents in 2020 and again in 2021," his tweet stated. "The NIH — specifically, Collins, Fauci, and Tabak — lied to Congress, lied to the press, and lied to the public. Knowingly. Willfully. Brazenly."

Senate votes to let Sweden, Finland join NATO

The Senate on Wednesday voted overwhelmingly to accept the application of Sweden and Finland to join NATO amid the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

 

The upper chamber voted 95-1 to approve the request, according to USA Today. Republican Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley was the only opposition vote.

 

The junior Missouri senator cited concerns that investing too much of America's resources in Europe to contain Russia would render it helpless against growing Chinese imperialism.

 

“America’s greatest foreign adversary doesn’t loom over Europe. It looms in Asia. I am talking of course about the People’s Republic of China. And when it comes to Chinese imperialism, the American people should know the truth: the United States is not ready to resist it," he wrote in an op-ed before the vote. "Expanding American security commitments in Europe now would only make that problem worse—and America, less safe.”

 

The two Baltic nations submitted their applications simultaneously following Moscow's attack on its western neighbor. They will need unanimous support from the member nations to join the bloc.

 

Turkey previously announced it would oppose Sweden and Finland's bids, but later changed course after receiving promises from Stockholm and Helsinki that the pair would work to address concerns about terrorist activities within their countries.

Left-Wing Dark Money Groups Boost Dem Candidate Who Pledged To Fight Dark Money, Records Show

A Democratic Wisconsin Senate candidate who has railed against “dark money” in politics is being supported by a left-wing dark money network, Federal Election Commission (FEC) records show.

 

Mandela Barnes, whose top Senate primary opponents dropped out of the race in July, said in February “Dark money has no place in democracy” and pledges on his website “to stand up to the corrupting influence of dark money.” At the same time, Barnes was endorsed Monday by theFamily Friendly Action PAC — which is dumping millions in his race to unseat Republican Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson and is largely funded by the dark money groups Sixteen Thirty Fund and America Votes, according to FEC filings.

 

Nonprofits with 501(c)(4) IRS exempt status are often referred to as “dark money” groups because they are under no legal obligation to disclose donors and can funnel unlimited sums to super PACs, according to OpenSecrets. Super PACs have to disclose their donors but can be “effectively dark money groups when the bulk of their funding cannot be traced back to the original donor,” according to OpenSecrets.

 

Sixteen Thirty Fund, which according to Politico is the “liberal dark money behemoth,” has donated $585,000 to Family Friendly Action PAC since September 2020, filings show.

 

America Votes gave the Family Friendly PAC more than $16 million since September 2020, FEC filings show. America Votes, which is a “coordination hub of the progressive community” and has over 400 national and state partners to increase voter turnout, reportedly received millions from left-wing billionaire George Soros in 2016.

 

“This issue of dark money, of course, is a broad problem across the political spectrum and influences organizations with both right and left leanings,” Laurie Styron, executive director of Charity Watch, a group probing nonprofit ethics, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

 

The dark money donations from America Votes and Sixteen Thirty

Fund were first reported by the Free Beacon. Sixteen Thirty Fund notably granted America Votes almost $129 million in 2020, according to Sixteen Thirty Fund’s federal form 990 filing. Sixteen Thirty Fund spent more than $400 million to unseat former President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election and flip the Senate blue, according to Politico.

 

“Hopefully we can all agree in principle that the public has a right to know who is funding politics in our country so we have adequate information with which to understand any biases influencing the messaging we collectively consume and any conflicts of interest that may be present,” Styron also said.

 

Family Friendly Action PAC will spend $5 million on canvassing for the Democratic Senate nominee in Wisconsin, Politico reported. The primary is slated for Aug. 9 and several Democratic candidates viewed as competitive, including Milwaukee Bucks executive Alex Lasry, have dropped out of the race, clearing the path for Barnes to win the primary, according to The Hill.

 

Barnes led his primary opponents in a June Marquette Law School poll, receiving the support of 25% of voters.

“Hypocrite Mandela Barnes claims to stand up against the corrupting influence of dark money while pocketing every dark money dime he can get,” a spokesman for Johnson’s campaign told the DCNF.

 

Barnes’ campaign did not respond to a request for comment, nor did spokespeople for the Family Friendly Action PAC, America Votes or Sixteen Thirty Fund.

More than two dozen cellphones belonging to members of special counsel Robert Mueller’s team were “wiped” clean of their data before the Justice Department’s inspector general could check them, according to a report.

Newly released DOJ records show the phones were wiped of the data because of forgotten passcodes, irreparable screen damage, loss of the device and intentional deletion, among other reasons, Fox News reported.

Mueller deputy Andrew Weissman “accidentally wiped” his device twice after he entered the wrong passcode too many times in March 2018, according to the documents cited by Fox News.

Attorney James Quarles’ phone “wiped itself” of the data without his input, say the records, which were released after a lawsuit from the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch, the network reported.

The documents also show that a phone belonging to then-FBI attorney Lisa Page — who exchanged anti-Trump texts with fellow agent Peter Strzok — was restored to factory settings when the Inspector General’s Office got it, according to Fox News.

The documents were released after a lawsuit from Judicial Watch. Newly released records from the Department of Justice show that the cell phones of multiple people on then-Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigative team were "wiped" for various reasons during the probe.

The records show at least several dozen phones were wiped of information because of forgotten passcodes, irreparable screen damage, loss of the device, intentional deletion or other reasons– and came before the DOJ’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) could review the devices.

The documents show that Mueller deputy Andrew Weissman "accidentally wiped" his phone twice after entering the wrong passcode too many times in March 2018. Lawyer James Quarles’ phone “wiped itself” without his intervention, the records say.

The records indicate Attorney Greg Andres phone was also wiped due to a forgotten passcode. And they say the phones of both Mueller deputy Kyle Freeny and Rush Atkinson were wiped accidentally after they entered the wrong passcode too many times.

The records say that a phone belonging to FBI lawyer Lisa Page – whose anti-Trump texts with FBI agent Peter Strzok were of interest to investigators – was restored to factory settings when the inspector general’s office received it.

Other officials, whose names are redacted, claim to have unintentionally restored their phone to its factory settings, deleting all records of communication. Next to the name of one redacted person, the record says: “Phone was in airplane mode, no passcode provided, data unable to be recovered so had to be wiped.”…

Premier League footballers are likely to stop ‘taking a knee’ this upcoming season after the gesture lost impact following a number of damaging revelations about Black Lives Matter.

 

The virtue signaling gesture began being performed in June 2020, shortly after the death of George Floyd and amidst innumerable violent riots in the United States which claimed dozens of lives.

 

However, despite football pundits claiming the gesture merely represented an “anti-racism” stance and had nothing to do with BLM, it was born out of police officers and other public figures displaying it to show deference to the Black Lives Matter movement.

 

According to media reports, the gesture is likely to be scrapped for the new Premier League season, which starts this weekend, although it could return for selected matches.

 

“A meeting between the 20 Premier League captains took place on Thursday with the topic of whether to keep taking the knee debated, but, after a wide variety of views, no final decision has been made and another get-together is pencilled in for this week,” reports the Telegraph.

 

“Clubs will hold internal discussions this week, with Newcastle reported to be talking about the issue today, and a decision is expected imminently with the top flight set to get under way on Friday when Palace host Arsenal.”

 

Bournemouth Football club have already decided not to have their players take a knee, asserting that the gesture “has run its course and is no longer having the effect it first did.”

 

England football players, led by woke manager Gareth Southgate, are however expected to continue to take a knee despite being booed for doing so by sections of their own fans.

 

Southgate notoriously chose black players to take crucial penalties during the Euro 2021 final with Italy, presumably in an attempt to settle the argument, but they all missed and England lost the tournament.

 

Of course, taking a knee has little to do with stopping racism and everything to do with forcing people to display loyalty to regime narratives. It’s a performative re-affirmation of cognitive conformity and slavish mental obedience.

 

Since June 2020, multiple damaging scandals have emerged proving that while being a destructive extremist movement on the ground, the leaders of Black Lives Matter are all mercenary grifters who have exploited it to enrich themselves.

 

As we highlighted back in April, the number of black Americans murdered has jumped by 32 per cent, with experts blaming the rise on cops not patrolling high crime areas thanks to Black Lives Matter-endorsed “defund the police” activism.

 

A poll conducted in November last year found that a majority of Americans opposed BLM for the first time since before the death of George Floyd.

 

The summer 2020 riots, described by news outlets like CNN as “mostly peaceful,” were the most damaging in U.S. history, with total insurance industry payouts exceeding $2 billion.

The Department of Defense (DOD) wiped messages from devices belonging to Trump administration officials involved in the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riots, according to court filings.

 

The American Oversight watchdog group filed

Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the Pentagon and Army to obtain records from former Acting Secretary of Defense Chris Miller, his former chief of staff Kash Patel and former Secretary of the Army Ryan McCarthy, as well as other key Defense officials, in March 2021. DOD responded in March 2022 that “text messages were not preserved and could not be searched,” possibly erasing information that could provide transparency behind the events of Jan. 6.

 

The DOD officials whose records were allegedly destroyed would have participated in making the decision to deploy the National Guard after the Jan. 6 riots began. “I did not wipe the phone before I turned it in (or ever that I can recall),” former DOD General Counsel Paul Ney told CNN. “When I turned the phone in, I did not know what was going to be done with that device nor do I know what actually was done with the device.

 

“If DoD represented in litigation that the device was wiped after I left DoD on Inauguration Day, I believe that is very likely what happened and when it happened, but I do not know why,” Ney added.

 

DOD said in its response to American Oversight that “when an employee separates from DOD or Army he or she turns in the government issued phone, and the phone is wiped.”It acknowledged that text messages were completely deleted,although copies of some messages could live in other records systems, like email.

 

Federal records laws require any federal records of informational value to be preserved indefinitely.

 

American Oversight initially submitted FOIA requests for DOD communications records on Jan. 12, 2021, less than a week after the Capitol riots and before the Biden administration’s transition. The DOD acknowledged the requests on Jan. 15, CNN reported, but allegedly stonewalled producing a response until September.

American Oversight petitioned current Attorney General Merrick Garland to initiate an investigation into the DOD’s failure to preserve the text messages Tuesday. The Secret Service acknowledged earlier in July that text messages from Trump administration personnel disappeared during a scheduled data migration on Jan. 27, 2021. The Department of

Homeland Security’s inspector general failed to reveal that the IG knew about the loss for more than a year after the House Select Committee on Jan. 6 subpoenaed the Secret Service for the apparently deleted records on July 17, CNN reported.

 

The Justice Department and Pentagon declined to comment. The Army and the Jan. 6 committee did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

The Justice Department is suing (civilly) Dr. Peter Navarro to compel him to produce Trump White House emails after the FBI put him in leg irons during his recent arrest.

 

The DOJ is working to compel Navarro to turn over emails from a “non-official email account… to send and receive messages constituting Presidential records,” the Justice Department said in a court filing according to Politico.

 

Why didn’t Hillary Clinton get the same treatment from the DOJ after she used a personal email account to evade FOIA while she was the head of the Department of State?

The Justice Department on Wednesday sued former Donald Trump trade adviser Peter Navarro in an effort to force him to turn over emails from his tenure in the White House.

 

Navarro, who worked for the White House during the entirety of Trump’s presidency, had used “at least one non-official email account … to send and receive messages constituting Presidential records,” the Justice Department said in a court filing. Attorneys also accused him of “wrongfully retaining them” in violation of federal record-keeping laws, as Navarro did not copy the messages into an official government account, nor did he respond to the National Archivist’s initial request for the emails.

 

The Justice Department approached Navarro about producing the missing emails, but he refused to return records “absent a grant of immunity for the act of returning such documents,” the department said.

 

The National Archives first became aware of Navarro’s use of a personal email account last year, according to the filing, after the House select panel investigating the coronavirus pandemic obtained emails showing Navarro used the ProtonMail account for official White House activities.

 

A federal grand jury in June indicted Trump advisor Dr. Peter Navarro for contempt of Congress after he refused to cooperate with Liz Cheney’s unconstitutional January 6 Committee.

 

Navarro faces two contempt counts: one for his failure to produce documents demanded by the committee and the other for failing to show up for subpoenaed testimony before House investigators.

 

According to Navarro, the feds put him in leg irons and threw him in a cell.

 

“They intercepted me gettin’ on the plane and then they put me in handcuffs, they bring me here. They put me in leg irons. They stick me in a cell,” Navarro said to reporters after his arrest.

 

Navarro did not take a plea on the contempt of Congress charges during last month’s status hearing.

 

Navarro’s federal case was assigned to US District Court Judge Amit Mehta, an Obama appointee.

 

Navarro’s civil suit was assigned to US District Court Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, a Bill Clinton appointee.

Well Anons, I am vacationing in Vegas - go home Saturday - and started having flu symptoms three days ago. Decided to take the home test today - not sure why as I really don’t trust it. Guess I figured that if I had to be sick on my vacation, it would be nice to at least gain some natural immunity. Sure enough, I am positive - supposedly. Assuming I really have it, would like to compare notes with other nonvaxxed people with this latest variant. I brought ivermectin with me but only 15 pills - took 5 daily x3 days. Also brought hydroxychloraquine and azithromycin which I started yesterday and have enough to last til I get home. Taking recommended dosages of zinc, b12, quercitin, d3, vitC, etc. So far, just have fairly mild symptoms - nose draining and burning, productive cough, hoarse, temp 100, sleepy/tired. A young girl chewed through restraints to escape a rural Alabama home where investigators later found two decomposing bodies, authorities said.

José Paulino Pascual-Reyes, 37, is facing kidnapping charges and multiple counts of capital murder in connection to the bodies found at the home after a 12-year-old girl was discovered walking along a roadside early Monday in Dadeville.

Tallapoosa County Sheriff Jimmy Abbett told reporters at a press conference that a driver picked up the girl and called 911 — setting off an investigation that led to Pascual-Reyes’ arrest and the gruesome discovery, AL.com reported.

Pascual-Reyes, who remains jailed pending a bond hearing, was arrested in Auburn. The bodies were found in his Dadeville home, not far from where the girl was discovered wandering alone.

The decomposing remains have been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences to be identified, Abbett said, adding it’s unclear how long they had been there.

“It’s a fluid investigation,” the sheriff told reporters. “Things are changing, and I don’t want to jeopardize the identification of our juvenile.”

Court filings obtained by WSFA show the girl had been tied to bedposts for nearly a week. She was assaulted and plied with alcohol, but managed to escape by chewing through her restraints, the documents show.

Authorities did not indicate whether the girl knew Pascual-Reyes, AL.com reported.

“I would say she’s a hero,” Abbett said. “It’s one of those things we won’t get into until later. We gave her medical attention. She is safe now. We want to keep her that way.”

Pascual-Reyes had lived at the home since February, Abbett said. Other people were there when cops arrived, but he did not elaborate, AL.com reported.

“It’s horrendous to have a crime scene of this nature,” the sheriff told reporters Tuesday.

A 12-year-old girl walking alone on an Alabama roadway sparked a kidnapping investigation that also led authorities to two decomposing bodies.

The investigation began just before 8:30 a.m. Monday when a passerby spotted the girl walking in the area of 3547 County Road 34 in rural Dadeville, said Tallapoosa County Sheriff Jimmy Abbett.

The motorist picked up the child, and immediately called 911.

Abbett said a team of state, local and federal investigators worked over the next 24 hours to arrest a suspect, identified Tuesday as Jose Paulino Pascual-Reyes.

The 37-year-old man is charged with first-degree kidnapping in connection with the young girl and three counts of capital murder and two counts of abuse of a corpse in connection with the bodies. He was taken into custody in Auburn.

He remains in the Tallapoosa County Jail pending a bond hearing, Abbett said.

Investigators searched Pascual-Reyes’ residence, which was near where the girl was found, and discovered two decomposed bodies.

The remains have been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for identification.

Abbett said he could not disclose any additional information about the bodies or ongoing investigation.

“It’s a fluid investigation,’’ the sheriff said. “Things are changing, and I don’t want to jeopardize the identification of our juvenile.”

The girl was reportedly bound and drugged at some point during her captivity but managed to escape. Authorities did not say whether the victim knew Pascual-Reyes.

The sheriff said investigators have worked “tirelessly” over the past 24 hours.

The assisting agencies include the Tallapoosa County District Attorney’s Office, the FBI, the State Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security, the Dadeville Police Department, the Dadeville Fire Department, the Camp Hill Police Department, the Alexander City Police Department, the Emergency Management Agency, the Department of Human Resources and the Child Advocacy Center.

As of Tuesday afternoon, law enforcement officers remained on the scene at Pascual-Reyes’ home, processing it for further evidence.

Tallapoosa County District Attorney Jeremy Duerr said Pascual-Reyes is facing multiple counts of capital murder in connection with the bodies found in his home.

Alabama man accused of capital murder, holding girl captive

A man accused of abducting a 12-year-old who escaped by chewing her way out of restraints after a week in captivity at a rural mobile home was charged with killing a woman and juvenile found dismembered inside the residence, authorities said Wednesday.

Already charged with first-degree kidnapping in connection with the girl's mistreatment, José Paulino Pascual-Reyes also was charged with capital murder and corpse abuse in the deaths of a woman and a boy younger than 14 who were found inside the mobile home in the central Alabama town of Dadeville, according to Tallapoosa County Sheriff Jimmy Abbett and court documents.

The woman, identified as Sandra Vazquez Ceja, was smothered with a pillow and the boy, identified only by initials, was hit and kicked to death, documents showed. Both bodies were cut into small pieces at the joints to hide evidence.

Authorities haven't released information about the surviving girl, a possible motive or whether any of the victims and Pascual-Reyes were related, but Abbett said additional charges were possible.

Ceja, 29, used an address that matched the location of the mobile home when she received traffic tickets for speeding and driving without a license in April, court records showed.

The records don't include the name of a defense attorney who could speak on behalf of Pascual-Reyes, 37, who was being held in the Tallapoosa County Jail following his arrest in Auburn, about 25 miles (40 kilometers) from Dadeville.

Abducted from an undisclosed location around July 24, the girl was restrained to bedposts for about a week so she could be sexually abused, according to a complaint filed in court by authorities. The two people were killed around the time of the alleged abduction, records show.

The girl was kept in a “drugged state” with alcohol and assaulted in the head before chewing her way out of the restraints, the document said.

With her braces damaged from the chewing and marks on her wrists indicating she'd been tied up, the girl was spotted on the road outside the mobile home on Monday morning, authorities said.

A driver picked up the girl and notified authorities, prompting an investigation and search that led to police officers discovering two decomposing bodies inside the mobile home where Pascual-Reyes lived and the girl was believed to be held, Abbett said. Other people lived at the residence, he said, but no one else was there when police arrived.

The girl, who authorities said had not been reported missing, received medical attention and was placed in the custody of child welfare officials, said Abbett, who described her as a hero.

Good afternoon.

Today, the Justice Department filed a lawsuit against the State of Idaho. The suit seeks to hold invalid the state’s criminal prohibition on providing abortions, as applied to women who are suffering medical emergencies.

Under a federal law known as the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act, or EMTALA, every hospital that receives Medicare funds must provide necessary stabilizing treatment to a patient who arrives at an emergency room suffering from a medical condition that could place their life or health in serious jeopardy.

In some circumstances, the medical treatment necessary to stabilize the patient's condition is abortion. This may be the case, for example, when a woman is undergoing a miscarriage that threatens septic infection or hemorrhage, or is suffering from severe preeclampsia.

When a hospital determines that an abortion is the medical treatment necessary to stabilize a patient’s emergency medical condition, it is required by federal law to provide that treatment.

As detailed in our complaint, Idaho’s law would make it a criminal offense for doctors to provide the emergency medical treatment that federal law requires. Although the Idaho law provides an exception to prevent the death of a pregnant woman, it includes no exception for cases in which the abortion is necessary to prevent serious jeopardy to the woman’s health.

Moreover, it would subject doctors to arrest and criminal prosecution, even if they performed an abortion to save a woman’s life, and would then place the burden on the doctors to prove that they are not criminally liable.

The United States therefore seeks a declaratory judgment that Idaho’s law violates the Supremacy Clause of the United States Constitution and is preempted by federal law, to the extent it is in conflict with EMTALA.

The United States also seeks an injunction prohibiting Idaho from enforcing its law against healthcare providers who provide the emergency treatment required by EMTALA.

In the days since the Dobbs decision, there have been widespread reports of delays and denials of treatment to pregnant women experiencing medical emergencies.

Today, the Justice Department’s message is clear: it does not matter what state a hospital subject to EMTALA operates in. If a patient comes into the emergency room with a medical emergency jeopardizing the patient’s life or health, the hospital must provide the treatment necessary to stabilize that patient. This includes abortion when that is the necessary treatment. Any state law that prevents a hospital from fulfilling its obligations under EMTALA violates federal law.

On the day Roe and Casey were overturned, we promised that the Justice Department would work tirelessly to protect and advance reproductive freedom. That is what we are doing, and that is what we will continue to do.

We will use every tool at our disposal to ensure that pregnant women get the emergency medical treatment to which they are entitled under federal law.

And we will closely scrutinize state abortion laws to ensure that they comply with federal law.

Democrat Supervisor of Elections Appears to Violate DeSantis Election Integrity Law

 

Since the 2020 presidential election, election integrity has become a paramount issue for conservative voters across the nation.  Now, theBroward CountySupervisor of Elections is under fire for allegedly violating Florida's election integrity laws.

In the 2021 legislative session in Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the  SB 90 voter integrity bill into law.  This election integrity legislation was among one of the most prominent state laws passed last year that addressed concerns conservative voters had about secure elections nationwide.

However, it seems that Gov. DeSantis's law has fallen short of fulfiling the endeavor to ensure safer and secure elections in the case of Broward County Florida.

Down in Broward County, Florida this week, The Floridian captured images of an unattended ballot "drop box" strategically positioned on the sidewalk. Florida law requires that drop boxes must be attended to at all times.

The drop box (see image) was rolled as close as possible to the road, allowing for just about anyone with a handful of ballots to drive up, deposit the ballots, and then wisk away without being questioned.

Maybe you don’t have an appreciation of just how much of our daily lives involves semiconductor chips, which is somewhat understandable because we don’t generally see/lay eyes on them in our day to day lives. MSNBC Remains Silent After Elie Mystal Unleashes Racist Attack on Herschel Walker

 

One of the long-standing complaints of media critics has been the double standard applied to liberal and conservative figures voicing controversial viewpoints. For example, columnists celebrated the firing of former Sen. Rick Santorum at CNN for making insensitive or false comments about the influence of Native American culture on the United States. When racist statements, however, are made by those on the left, there is no such hue and cry. The latest example is MSNBC regular Elie Mystal, who launched into a racist diatribe against Republican Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker who is African American.

 

Mystal is the “justice correspondent” for the Nation Magazine and has also written for the website, Above the Law.

 

During a segment on “The Cross Connection,” Mystal suggested Walker was supported because he does what Republicans “want from their Negroes.”

 

“You ask why are Republicans backing this man who’s so clearly unintelligent, who so clearly doesn’t have independent thoughts, but that’s actually the reason. Walker is going to do what he’s told, and that is what Republicans like. That’s what Republicans want from their Negroes: to do what they were told. And Walker presents exactly as a person who lacks independent thoughts, lacks an independent agenda, lacks an independent ability to grasp policies, and he’s just going to go in there and vote like Mitch McConnell tells them to vote.”

 

Mystal has previously caused uproars for controversial claims from accusing a senator of wanting to murder Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to his continued attacks on a high school student even after he was cleared of a false race-based story. He has called the Constitution “trash” and previously stated that white, non-college-educated voters supported Republicans because they care about “using their guns on Black people and getting away with it.” He has also lashed out at “white society” and explained how he strived to maintain a “whiteness free” life in the pandemic.

 

Many clearly relish Mystal’s race-baiting takes on issues on MSNBC. The issue, in my view, is not why Mystal is allowed to continue to make such comments on a network but the clear double standard applied to such commentators.

 

We have seen the same double standard at universities. For example, Women’s Studies Professor Donna Hughes was publicly condemned by the University of Rhode Island for writing an op-ed that criticized what she called the LGBTQ ideology. Yet, the university has largely remain silent on the writings of Director of Graduate Studies of History Erik Loomis, who has defended the murder of a conservative protester and said that he saw “nothing wrong” with such acts of violence. Loomis also declared that “Science, statistics, and technology are all inherently racist because they are developed by racists who live in a racist society, whether they identify as racists or not.”

 

I have defended faculty who have made an array of disturbing comments about “detonating white people,” denouncing police, calling for Republicans to suffer, strangling police officers, celebrating the death of conservatives, calling for the killing of Trump supporters, supporting the murder of conservative protesters and other outrageous statements.
