DOJ Raid of Jeffrey’s Clark Home Linked to Investigation Into Conspiracy, Obstruction: Filing

The search warrant executed at the home of a former top Department of Justice (DOJ) official in June was part of an investigation into violations of three federal laws, including on prohibiting obstruction of justice, according to a newly disclosed filing.

Jeffrey Clark, an assistant attorney general during the Trump administration, told the District of Columbia Bar that federal agents with the DOJ inspector general’s office raided his home in Washington on June 20 “in connection with an investigation into violations” of laws prohibiting making false statements to the government, conspiracy, and obstruction of justice.

The bar disclosed the statement in a report, dated Sept. 12 and originally filed under seal, on charges it has leveled against Clark.

The DOJ inspector general’s office did not immediately respond.

Clark declined to comment. He previously told NTD that he had not seen the affidavit upon which the search was based.

“The new era of criminalizing politics is worsening in the U.S.,” Russ Vought, the president of the Center for Renewing America, where Clark is a fellow, told The Epoch Times in an email. “This raid, which was just the beginning of their attempt to wipe out political opposition, entailed more than a dozen DOJ law enforcement officials searching Jeff Clark’s house in a pre-dawn raid, putting him in the streets in his pajamas, and taking his electronic devices.”

“All because Jeff saw fit to want to investigate voter fraud. This is not America, folks. The weaponization of government must end. Let me be very clear. We stand by Jeff and so must all patriots in this country,” Vought added.

According to emails disclosed previously, President Donald Trump pressured top DOJ officials to investigate 2020 election fraud allegations. Clark, the assistant attorney general for the DOJ’s Environment and Natural Resources Division and acting assistant attorney general for the agency’s Civil Division, was involved in looking into the allegations.

Bar officials say he violated the District of Columbia Rules of Professional Conduct by engaging in dishonest conduct when he helped draft a letter to Georgia’s governor and lawmakers in the state recommending they call a special session and send an alternate slate of electors to Washington after the 2020 presidential election. They also charge that he tried to interfere with the administration of justice.

Clark argued the case should be deferred but officials said in the new filing that he has not met the standard, which is a pending related ongoing investigation or litigation.

Several probes apply, including the investigation that brought agents to his home, Clark said. But Merril Hirsh, chair of the D.C. Court of Appeals Board on Professional Responsibility, the disciplinary panel for the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, recommended Clark’s request be denied because Clark has not been charged.

The FBI analyst who wrongly labeled Hunter Biden evidence as "disinformation" was referred for disciplinary action just months before doing so, whistleblowers claim.

Brian Auten, a supervisory intelligence analyst within the bureau, was referred to the Office of Professional Responsibility following Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s December 2019 report on the Trump-Russia investigation and its use of FISA surveillance against Trump campaign associate Carter Page. Shortly after the referral, Auten was involved with the bureau’s inquiry into the son of now-President Joe Biden, with his Aug. 2020 analysis being used in part to justify the decision to "shut down investigative activity."

A senior FBI official who investigated Donald Trump's alleged links to Russia is now under the microscope for his own Moscow ties, a bombshell new report revealed on Thursday.

Charles McGonigal is the former counterintelligence chief at the FBI's New York City field office.

He has not been charged with any crimes, Insider reports.

But if McGonigal's work with Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska proves to have violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act, he could face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine at most.

Deripaska, a close ally of Vladimir Putin's, was also a close contact of Trump 2016 campaign chair Paul Manafort and is thought to have played a leading role in the Kremlin's efforts to interfere in that presidential race.

He and business tied to him were sanctioned by the Treasury Department for 'malign activity' and 'attempting to subvert western democracies, and malicious cyber-activities.'

McGonigal's links to Deripaska are reportedly at the heart of a grand jury subpoena that was issued in secret in November 2021.

In a recent interview on The Spectator’s “Marshall Matters” podcast, Laurence Fox condemned big tech’s power to sway elections.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) – The dozens of fulfillment centers Amazon is closing, canceling or delaying means a proposed Greensboro facility may never come to fruition.

CNBC reported that there would be 44 canceled or closed facilities and 25 delayed sites, based on a post by logistics consultant MVPVL International. That report said that delivery stations are the most common type of facility being closed.”

Amazon said Thursday that plans for a Greensboro fulfillment center were never finalized.

Seattle-based Amazon doubled the size of its operations during the pandemic, adding more warehouses and workers to keep up with demand from homebound consumers who felt more comfortable buying things online. But as the worst of the pandemic eased, it found itself with too much warehouse space and too many workers. In May, it announced it planned to sublease some of its warehouse space.

In November, the Greensboro City Council approved the annexing and rezoning of 109 acres from residential property to light industrial for Amazon to open a distribution center.

Documents on file with the city planning department said a facility as large as 634,812 square feet could be built, and a representative for the developer told the City Council that “the tenant is committed to being a long-term asset in the community.”

The facility apparently would have employed about 1,000.

Nexstar’s WGHP reached out to Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan and City Manager Taiwo Jaiyeoba seeking comment on this development and was still awaiting a response at publishing time.

Thursday’s announcement might not be unpopular with residents near the site, some of whom have expressed displeasure with the rezoning to accommodate the facility.

Amazon closing, canceling, delaying fulfillment centers nationwide

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) – The dozens of fulfillment centers Amazon is closing, canceling or delaying means a proposed Greensboro facility may never come to fruition.

CNBC reported that there would be 44 canceled or closed facilities and 25 delayed sites, based on a post by logistics consultant MVPVL International. That report said that delivery stations are the most common type of facility being closed.”

Amazon said Thursday that plans for a Greensboro fulfillment center were never finalized.

Seattle-based Amazon doubled the size of its operations during the pandemic, adding more warehouses and workers to keep up with demand from homebound consumers who felt more comfortable buying things online. But as the worst of the pandemic eased, it found itself with too much warehouse space and too many workers. In May, it announced it planned to sublease some of its warehouse space.

In November, the Greensboro City Council approved the annexing and rezoning of 109 acres from residential property to light industrial for Amazon to open a distribution center.

Documents on file with the city planning department said a facility as large as 634,812 square feet could be built, and a representative for the developer told the City Council that “the tenant is committed to being a long-term asset in the community.”

The facility apparently would have employed about 1,000.

Nexstar’s WGHP reached out to Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan and City Manager Taiwo Jaiyeoba seeking comment on this development and was still awaiting a response at publishing time.

Thursday’s announcement might not be unpopular with residents near the site, some of whom have expressed displeasure with the rezoning to accommodate the facility.
