Bombshell Texts Show Milwaukee Mayor Colluding With Democrats To Rig 2022 Election

Texts between city officials and leftist nonprofit workers indicate that the city of Milwaukee is working to “fortify” the 2022 midterms.

We now know that Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson and his staff are coordinating with Democratic Party operatives in a sweeping get-out-the-vote campaign. Why? Because they tell us in private text messages.

As Empower Wisconsin first reported on Wednesday, communications obtained in an open records request to the city by state Rep. Janel Brandtjen (R-Menomonee Falls) show longtime Democratic Party operative Sachin Chheda telling Johnson and his staff what to say about the Wisconsin Votes 2022 get-out-the-vote campaign. The effort is being funded by a left-wing activist group with close ties to the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL), a leftist nonprofit funded by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

While city officials, under the direction of Chheda, have said Milwaukee is not receiving any private funding for the effort, two things are clear: The mayor’s office is taking orders from Democratic Party operatives, and the city of Milwaukee is coordinating with left-wing groups in what looks like an expensive effort to influence the outcome of November’s election.

“Are we coordinating all vote events with your group? Based on the media frenzy yesterday, I don’t think that’s a good idea,” Johnson’s spokesman Jeff Fleming asks Chheda in a text sent earlier this month.

“When I don’t have information we can’t coordinate,” Chheda testily responds. “I’m not saying every event would be with us, but if you can let me know what’s going on, then I can answer questions and plan. So yes, I do want to know everything related to voting.”

Fleming’s question followed the mayor’s comments at a press conference that the city was assisting with the “Milwaukee Votes 2022” effort funded by private grants and that the city would soon be launching a widget on its website related to the get-out-the-vote (GOTV) campaign.

Why would the mayor’s office and Milwaukee’s top election official be working with Democratic operatives on a claimed “nonpartisan”

GOTV campaign? That’s the purview of political parties, not cities. It certainly isn’t — and shouldn’t be — the responsibility of a city’s election administrators.

But the texts show Chheda setting up meetings at the Milwaukee Election Commission office to discuss the handling of Milwaukee Votes 2022.

“Good morning! I’m hoping the four of us can connect early this afternoon about Monday’s event and looking ahead,” the left-wing operative wrote in a text earlier this month.

On this thread was Melissa Baldauff, Gov. Tony Evers’ former communications director and principal with GPS Impact, a marketing outfit that boasts it has helped “Democrats, progressive organizations and initiatives, and elected officials win in red states.” Baldauff and GPS Impact reportedly are or were involved in the GOTV initiative.

Fleming and Claire Woodall-Vogg, executive director of the Milwaukee Election Commission, were also involved in the text chain.

“Claire, Could we gather at City Hall at 1:30 to chat? I think 30 minutes would be enough,” Chheda asks.

“Fine by me. Where at CH?” Fleming responds.

“Claire’s office? Claire if that works for you, we will come to your office?” Chheda writes.

Woodall-Vogg responds, “Good for me.”

“OK, just to confirm we are meeting at Claire’s office, the election commission, at 1:30 PM today, 5th floor city hall. I’m not sending a calendar invite, see you there,” Chheda orders.

According to email communications, Woodall-Vogg previously had connected left-wing voting groups with Chheda.

“I am happy to report that Sachin Chheda’s nonprofit-nonpartisan organization is taking the lead for the mayor. I’ve copied him in the hopes that you two can connect,” the elections official wrote in an email to Peggy Creer, president of the League of Women Voters Milwaukee County, in mid-August. “From my understanding, he is very much on track to still bring in resources for voter education and outreach to the city.”

Late Wednesday, the Republican Party of Wisconsin (RPW) filed a lawsuit in Milwaukee County Circuit Court challenging the city’s “Milwaukee Votes 2022” initiative. RPW alleges government resources and personnel appear to be involved in assisting Democratic-aligned organizations, such as GPS Impact, in their GOTV efforts.

The party says that records released give the appearance of coordination between Johnson’s office and longtime Democratic Party operatives. If that coordination involves the use of government resources or personnel to drive Democratic Party voter turnout, that would be a violation of state statutes and the city of Milwaukee’s own “Political Activity Policy.”

RPW Executive Director Mark Jefferson says the party is deeply concerned that cities like Milwaukee are working with Democrat operatives and partisan third-party groups to get out the vote “in a manner designed to tip the scales for Democrats.”

“Government’s role in elections must be to ensure fairness and transparency, not to benefit one party at the expense of another, and we will aggressively fight to ensure that election laws are followed,” Jefferson said.

Chheda, in writing the press statement for the mayor’s office, instructed Fleming to say:

“There are nonprofit, nonpartisan groups who are canvassing door to door, funded entirely by civic-minded philanthropists, to encourage Milwaukeeans to vote. The city is neither funding nor receiving funds to canvass, and the mayor is voicing his support for the city’s partnership with these nonprofit, nonpartisan groups who are mobilizing voters.”

Chheda then gets up on his left-wing activist soap box, offering an extended statement that never makes it to the press. It shows, once again, Milwaukee’s election office being infiltrated by liberal activist groups:

The mayor is excited about all the work happening to encourage voting with the city and in partnership with outside groups. That includes the widget being installed on the city website which was developed by nonprofit partners and is available to any citizen who wants to check their voter registration statute or learn how to register, regardless of party.

That includes the Early Voting sites funded by city taxpayers that allow all citizens to vote at more than a dozen locations across the city over the course of the 2-weeks early voting period. It includes the work discussed today to make it easier for disabled citizens to have their voice heard. And it includes the city’s support of these nonprofit, nonpartisan groups who are canvassing door to door.

At one point, following a screed demanding he be kept in the loop about public statements, Chheda tells the mayor’s office, “Our funders do not want us to refer folks to Melissa [Baldauff] after all.”

He then rips conservative talk show host Dan O’Donnell, who had reached out to Baldauff for comment earlier this month.

“I do not engage bad actors like Dan O’Donnell He’s not a journalist. He’s a political activist,” Chheda, the political activist, wrote.

“If there are further enquires [sic], can we please discuss before any response is offered. I’d appreciate it. Thank you.”

Brandtjen, who chairs the Assembly Campaign Elections Commission investigating the many questions surrounding the 2020 election, says her office will be submitting follow-up open records requests with the city and its Election Commission.

Newsom Signs Bill To Let California Strip Gender-Confused Teens From Parents — Even When They Live In Other StatesBy: Tristan Justice September 30, 2022

California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a new law Thursday night to strip rights away from parents who protest their children’s blind pursuit of destructive surgeries sold to confused minors as “gender affirmation.”

Under Senate Bill 107 introduced by San Francisco-area State Sen. Scott Wiener, California will now become a “refuge” for trans-identifying minors who seek irreversible medical treatment for gender dysphoria. The legislation was supposedly aimed at blocking red states from enforcing laws barring extreme treatments for underage victims, and instead invited those minors to seek surgeries in California.

“In California we believe in equality and acceptance. We believe that no one should be prosecuted or persecuted for getting the care they need — including gender-affirming care,” Newsom said upon signing the bill into law. “Parents know what’s best for their kids, and they should be able to make decisions around the health of their children without fear. We must take a stand for parental choice.”

Except the bill undermines parental choice by empowering the state to strip custody from those who refuse to support their children’s demand for “gender-affirming care,” a euphemism used to describe something that is neither gender-affirming nor caring.

Such procedures could range from puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to surgeries leaving a child’s genitals permanently altered. The bill extends California’s reach beyond its borders, enabling minors in other states to pursue treatment on the West Coast away from parental oversight.

Jay Richards, a policy expert at the Heritage Foundation, and Emilie Kao, a vice president and senior counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom, broke down the components of the law in Newsweek.

“California courts will have the power to strip custody from parents, wherever they live, who doubt the wisdom of these experimental and irreversible procedures — if their child so much as steps foot in California,” the pair explained. “It would also allow California doctors to treat minors still in other states. With the advent of telehealth, a child could get a prescription for hormones from a California doctor while at home in Arkansas or in Florida.”

Both states have instituted protections to restrict cross-sex hormones from ending up in the hands of gender-confused minors.

Under California’s new law, parents might not even know whether their children are pursuing these dangerous drugs and procedures.

Senate Bill 107 mandates that doctors hide children’s medical information from parents if related to “gender identity,” even if requested by subpoena.

Last week, a coalition of organizations representing parents both in and out of state condemned the law’s reach with a letter to the governor.

“[Senate Bill] 107 makes California akin to the Pied Piper, enticing minor children nationwide to leave their families and run away in pursuit of harmful drugs and sterilizing surgeries, all of which cause irreversible harm to the minds, bodies, and family relationships of America’s precious children,” they wrote. “Children experiencing gender confusion need the love, support, and guidance of their parents. They do not need to be taken from their parents and rushed down a pathway which leads to a lifetime of medicalization and sterilization.”

This summer, researchers at the Heritage Foundation found that “easing access to cross-sex treatments without parental consent significantly increases suicide rates.”

The findings contradict a key argument among proponents of aggressive “gender affirmation” who claim minors denied permanently life-altering procedures are more likely to kill themselves.

“There is a 14% increase in suicide rates among young people by 2020 in states that have a provision allowing minors to access care without parental consent relative to states that do not,” explained Heritage Senior Research Fellow Jay Greene. “Easier access to puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones by minors actually exacerbated suicide rates.”

According to a report from The New York Post during an interview over the weekend, veteran political consultant Dick Morris said Hillary Clinton is “dusting off” her husband’s playbook and may be eyeing a 2024 run at the Oval Office.

“I see more and more signs that Hillary’s going to run,” Morris told John Catsimatidis on his WABC 770 AM radio show in an interview that aired Sunday, noting that she has been remarking that Americans “do not believe in open borders.”

“These are all signals that she is going to be the moderate candidate for president. She’s going to say after the election, ‘See, the left cost us the House and the Senate. Stating that the plan reveal did not go as planned due to communication errors with the UK minister of Finance, Truss tweeted, “Our focus now is on building a high growth economy that funds world-class public services, boosts wages, and creates opportunities across the country," adding that, "The abolition of the 45pc rate had become a distraction from our mission to get Britain moving.”

"I'm very pleased that we've decided not to proceed with that because it was drowning out the elements of an excellent plan," stated Kwarteng to the BBC, while assuring that he did not consider resigning "at all".

Former UK transport secretary, Grant Shapps, described the decision to back down on the top rate tax cuts as sensible, stating the BBC cutting taxes from the people who least need them, "jarred for people in a way which was unsustainable.”

Following the recent events, a survey conducted by YouGov revealed that 51% of UK citizens believe that PM Truss should resign, while 54% think that Kwarteng needs to go.

Earlier, Tory members urged new PM Liz Truss to kick Kwarteng to the curb as they viewed her new government formation as a situation in dire straits. One member said: “Kwasi will have to go. She won’t have any option. They are actually crashing the economy and she will need somebody to blame.”

The party's former chancellor, Ken Clarke, labeled the Truss government to have initiated with a “catastrophic start”, and hoped that the mini-budget initiative would be “torn up”, but in a statement to Sky News, in his opinion, Kwarteng's resignation would not improve the crisis, adding: “We cannot have a different chancellor every other week.”

Italian oil and gas giant Eni pointed out Monday that it is ready to provide a 20-million-euro guarantee to restart deliveries of Russian gas through Austria, after a stoppage blamed on regulatory changes.

Eni's CEO Claudio Descalzi claimed that the gas delivery was suspended Saturday because Russia's Gazprom failed to provide a newly-imposed guarantee to the carrier transporting it from Austria to Italy.

"We are seeing if we take over" and provide the 20 million euros, Descalzi mentioned, adding that he hoped that "the problem can be resolved this week."

"The stoppage is absolutely not due to geopolitical reasons," Descalzi indicated on the sidelines of a Rome conference.

Speaking about Gazprom, Eni's CEO said that "it is difficult to imagine that a company that wants to pay in rubles can provide guarantees in euros."

Gazprom completely suspended gas deliveries to Eni on Saturday, citing the "impossibility of gas transport through Austria" due to a new regulation that came into force on October 1.

Most of the Russian gas delivered to Italy passes via Ukraine through the Trans Austria Gas Pipeline (TAG), to Tarvisio in northern Italy on the border with Austria.

Before Saturday's suspension, Italy received some 20 million cubic meters of Russian gas per day – or "about nine to 10 percent" of its gas imports, Descalzi clarified. That compares to 40% before the start of the war in Ukraine.

Outgoing Prime Minister Mario Draghi has signed new deals with other gas producers to reduce Italy's reliance on Russia and has been racing to fill up the country's gas stores before winter.

Italy has already hit its target of filling its stores to 90% and is "in the process of increasing it," Ecological Transition Minister Roberto Cingolani mentioned Sunday.

Haiti reports first Cholera death in years

At least seven people died from cholera, authorities in Haiti said Sunday, raising new concerns about a resurgent epidemic in the crisis-ridden Caribbean country.

Cholera killed approximately 10,000 people in the aftermath of Haiti's 2010 earthquake when it was introduced to the country by United Nations workers assisting with the response.

Nearly three years after the last confirmed case of the illness in Haiti, the country's health ministry announced on Sunday that multiple suspected cases were discovered in the capital Port-au-Prince and the coastal neighborhood of Cite Soleil.

Director General of Haiti's public health ministry Laure Adrien told reporters Sunday afternoon that seven or eight people had already died.

"Most of the victims died in the communities and could not go to hospitals," he said.

Adrien demanded that the outbreak of roadblocks across the country, in protest of the recent increase in gas prices, were so the infected could access health care or ambulances.

Protests and looting rocked the volatile country since September 11, when Prime Minister Ariel Henry announced a fuel price increase, claiming that subsidies were too costly for one of the world's poorest countries.

In an earlier statement, the health ministry stated that measures aim to limit the spread of the virus, including the investigation of other possible cases, while urging people to practice increased hygiene precautions.

The first viral cases were detected during the 2010 outbreak near the Artibonite River, where UN peacekeepers had dumped feces.

It wasn't until August 2016 that the UN officially acknowledged its role in the outbreak.

On Sunday, the UN said it was "supporting efforts by the Government of Haiti to contain a cholera outbreak and provide life-saving measures."

The last positive case was detected in 2019, and the Ministry of Public Health held a ceremony in February 2022 to mark the country's official cholera elimination.

Monday marks the 29-year anniversary of Black Hawk Down, and it’s a great time to take a moment to honor and remember all the men who were lost. On October 3, 1993, a task force made up of Army Rangers and Delta Force operators conducted a mission in Mogadishu, Somalia in an attempt to stop a genocide being conducted by warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid.

What was supposed to be a quick, daytime operation to arrest some of Aidid’s men turned into one of the greatest nightmares in American military history. Two Black Hawk helicopters were shot down during the operation, and the objective quickly pivoted from arresting Aidid’s men to secure two different crash sites.

Black Hawk Down was a horrific event, but American heroism still shined through.

Disaster unfolded as the entire city of Mogadishu was cut loose against a couple hundred American soldiers in the streets.

By the end of the Battle of Mogadishu,18 Americans were dead and another 73 had been wounded. It was an absolute bloodbath that saw American bodies dragged through the streets in one of the most horrifying displays of cruelty in modern history.

However, the Battle of Mogadishu is also an example of American selflessness, sacrifice and greatness. Instead of running to safety, the Rangers and Delta operators fought to the bitter end to secure the crash sites and save as many people as possible.

We lost 18 American heroes in a foreign country attempting to stop a genocide on the other side of the world. Without hesitation, a dozen and a half Americans laid their lives down for each other and for complete strangers being starved to death.

Delta Force snipers paid the ultimate price to save a downed pilot.

One of the stories that has always stuck with me is that ofDelta Force snipers Gary Gordon and Randy Shughart. Knowing they would both die, the pair voluntarily inserted into one of the crash sites to kill enemy fighters attempting to murder pilot Mike Durant. Both men fought to the very end, and ultimately, saved Durant’s life. He was briefly held as a POW by Aidid’s forces before being returned. The pair earned the Medal of Honor for their actions in Somalia that horrific day.

I’ve had the opportunity to meet and interview a handful of Black Hawk Down veterans. They’re truly incredible people. 29 years later and they still can talk about the battle like it was just yesterday.

One of the most incredible moments was when Jeff Struecker talked about nobody hesitating to fight. When the Rangers needed more guns, cooks, intel guys and anyone else with a weapon rushed to join the battle.

• “Every one of them knew they might die doing this, but none of them hesitated. Not one of them,” Struecker explained when talking about the heroic actions he saw that day.

Indigenous icon Littlefeather dies at 75

Less than two months after the Academy apologized over her treatment at the 1973 Academy Awards, Sacheen Littlefeather (Apache/Yaqui/Ariz) died at the age of 75 according to the Academy of Motion Pictures.

Littlefeather had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

The Academy announced on Saturday night her death in a tweet. According to a statement from her caregiver, she died at noon on Sunday at her home in the Northern California city of Novato, surrounded by her loved ones.

An apology 49 years late

When Sacheen Littlefeather (Apache/Yaqui/Ariz) represented Marlon Brando at the 1973 Oscars, she spoke out against the abuse of Native Americans and rejected to receive Brando's award on his behalf. Littlefeather's career in movies came to an end as a result of the harassment and abuse she endured after the 60-second statement and during which she was jeered and booed.

The Academy issued Littlefeather an official apology 50 years later on June 18, according to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), and invited her to the Academy Museum as a guest for an evening of contemplation on September 17th.

On stage, in a historical moment in both Oscars and live television in 1973, Littlefeather was heckled offstage and threatened with both arrest and physical assault. Upon Marlon Brando's request, the Native American actress, then 26 years old, entered the stage and declined the best actor prize for his part in the cinema classic "The Godfather".

She vowed to follow Brando's directions not to touch the statuette and to confine her remarks to a maximum of 60 seconds (A directive from the show's producer Howard Koch, who informed Littlefeather before the award ceremony that he had security on ready to detain her if she continued over the allotted time).

Little feather was pushed to improvise her speech after Koch’s threats which became an obstacle to reading Brando’s pre-written speech.

“[Brando] very regretfully cannot accept this very generous award,” Littlefeather said adding that “the reasons for this being are the treatment of American Indians today by the film industry [the audience begins to boo] — excuse me — and on television in movie reruns, and also with recent happenings at Wounded Knee.”

At the time Wounded Knee was under a US Department of Justice-imposed blackout as Native Americans had occupied the South Dakota village in protest of the continued mistreatment of their people.

She will visit the Academy again over fifty years later as an honored guest for an evening of reflection at the Academy Museum that will include a formal apology from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), something she never thought would happen in her lifetime.

“I was stunned. I never thought I’d live to see the day I would be hearing this, experiencing this,” adding that “When I was at the podium in 1973, I stood there alone,” now 75-year-old Littlefeather told regarding the apology she received.

After her infamous speech, everything changed for Littlefeather. Even talk shows or productions were threatened to be shut down by the US federal government, revealed THR.

The apology, dated June 18, and signed by then-Academy president David Rubin read:

“As you stood on the Oscars stage in 1973 to not accept the Oscar on behalf of Marlon Brando, in recognition of the misrepresentation and mistreatment of Native American people by the film industry, you made a powerful statement that continues to remind us of the necessity of respect and the importance of human dignity.

The abuse you endured because of this statement was unwarranted and unjustified. The emotional burden you have lived through and the cost to your own career in our industry are irreparable. For too long the courage you showed has been unacknowledged. For this, we offer both our deepest apologies and our sincere admiration.

We cannot realize the Academy’s mission to “inspire imagination and connect the world through cinema” without a commitment to facilitating the broadest representation and inclusion reflective of our diverse global population.

Today, nearly 50 years later, and with the guidance of the Academy’s Indigenous Alliance, we are firm in our commitment to ensuring indigenous voices—the original storytellers—are visible, respected contributors to the global film community. We are dedicated to fostering a more inclusive, respectful industry that leverages a balance of art and activism to be a driving force for progress.

At the Academy Museum celebration of Littlefeather on September 17, THR wrote, the apology will be read in its entirety. Littlefeather will take part in a discussion with producer Bird Runningwater (Cheyenne/Mescalero Apache/N.M.), co-chair of the Academy's Indigenous Alliance. Runningwater was the one who initially contacted Littlefeather on the Academy's behalf as part of the museum's ongoing initiatives to examine the group's past and determine its future through a more comprehensive, inclusive lens.

Littlefeather will be making her first trip to the museum, where a picture of her has been put within the gallery chronicling the history of the Academy Awards. After her career got derailed due to her decision to stand up for her people in 1973, Littlefeather pursued studies in traditional medicine and nutrition as well as worked at Mother Teresa's AIDS hospice. However, she never anticipated reconciliation with the most powerful Hollywood institution.

Living with metastatic breast cancer, Littlefeather, according to THR, said “Yes, there’s an apology that’s due. As my friends in the Native community said, it’s long overdue,” adding that “I could have been dead by now. All of my friends — [activists] Dennis Banks, Russell Means, John Trudell, [comedian] Charlie Hill — are gone.”

When asked what she thought of Koch and the other Oscar night participants who stood by as she was harassed, she laughed wholeheartedly and said that “When they got to the other side, I’m sure that my ancestors spoke to them on my behalf. And I’m sure Mr. Charles went over there and had a talk with them immediately. I’m sure his first target was John Wayne.”

According to THR, Littlefeather claims that she has maintained a daily practice of "love, gratitude, and forgiveness” for herself. She has also been encouraged by the most recent advancements in Native American representation in Hollywood stories and stated that “At long last, somebody is breaking down the doors. And I’m so very happy this is happening."

When in 1973 Littlefeather concluded her speech by saying “I beg at this time that … in the future, our hearts, and our understandings will meet with love and generosity,” she did not know it would take 49 years for the world to finally get there.

The Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on Access to Electronic Data for the Purpose of Countering Serious Crime (“Data Access Agreement” or “Agreement”) entered into force today. The Agreement is authorized by the Clarifying Lawful Overseas Use of Data (CLOUD) Act, a law enacted by Congress in 2018, and will be the first agreement of its kind, allowing each country’s investigators to gain better access to vital data to combat serious crime in a way that is consistent with privacy and civil liberties standards.

Under the Data Access Agreement, service providers in one country may respond to qualifying, lawful orders for electronic data issued by the other country, without fear of running afoul of restrictions on cross-border disclosures. The Data Access Agreement fosters more timely and efficient access to electronic data required in fast-moving investigations through the use of orders covered by the Agreement. This will greatly enhance the ability of the United States and the United Kingdom to prevent, detect, investigate, and prosecute serious crime, including terrorism, transnational organized crime, and child exploitation, among others.

The Data Access Agreement sets out numerous requirements that must be met for U.S. or UK authorities to invoke the Agreement. For example, orders submitted by U.S. authorities must not target persons located in the UK and must relate to a serious crime. Similarly, orders submitted by UK authorities must not target U.S. persons or persons located in the United States and must relate to a serious crime. U.S. and UK authorities must also abide by agreed requirements, limitations and conditions when obtaining and using data obtained under the Data Access Agreement.

The United States and the United Kingdom have selected Designated Authorities responsible for implementation of the Data Access Agreement for each country. For the United States, the Designated Authority is the Department of Justice’s Office of International Affairs (OIA), and for the United Kingdom it is the Investigatory Powers Unit of the UK Home Office.

Among its various functions as U.S. Designated Authority, OIA has created a CLOUD team to review and certify orders that comply with the Agreement on behalf of federal, state, local, and territorial authorities located in the United States, transmit certified orders directly to UK service providers, and arrange for the return of responsive data to the requesting authorities.

Hillary Clinton readies for 2024 US presidency as "moderate" choice

Veteran political consultant and former aide to President Bill Clinton, Dick Morris, said in a new interview on Sunday that Hillary Clinton is planning to set herself as the "moderate" choice for Democrats by criticizing Biden's administration's "open borders" policy.

As Morris noted that more and more Americans are losing faith in open borders, “I see more and more signs that Hillary’s going to run,” he told John Catsimatidis on his WABC 770 AM radio show.

"These are all signals that she is going to be the moderate candidate for president. She’s going to say after the election, ‘See, the left cost us the House and the Senate. If we stay with a left-wing candidate in 2024, we’re going to lose the White House. I’m the only one who will tack to the center and give us a chance at victory,’" Morris told Catsimatidis.

The former aide added that he was very aware of the strategy she is planning to use as he himself tailored it for Bill Clinton when he won the Democratic nomination in 1992.

“Hillary is just dusting off Bill‘s playbook that I wrote for him and applying it herself this year,” he said.

Last month, Clinton accused Republican Governor Ron DeSantis of engaging in human trafficking over his reckless program of flying migrants from Texas to Martha’s Vineyard.

"So many other Americans — I happen to believe still the majority of Americans — are good-hearted and generous and when people end up on their doorstep in need, they’re going to respond. They’ll feed them and house them and the kids in the AP Spanish class will be let out of high school so they can go and translate. That’s the kind of American spirit that we try to celebrate at the Clinton Global Initiative," she said during her interview on MSNBC on September 16.

"Nobody wants open borders who has any idea of how government and countries work," she added.

Morris told Catsimatidis that fears building up over a 'far-left' candidate are signaling that Democrats will favor Clinton over other runner-ups.

"Once Biden pulls out, the polling will show that the Democrats are leaning toward some crazy radical like [California Gov.] Gavin Newson, [Vermont Sen.] Bernie Sanders. Maybe even AOC [Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] herself," Morris said.

“That’s going to drive the Democratic Party leaders to go to Hillary and say, ‘Hey look. Please run again. We need you to save us from the crazy left,’” he added.

“Otherwise we’ll have Sanders as our candidate. We’ll lose Congress by a ton. And we’ll get wiped out in the presidential race.”

Clinton previously ran for the presidency in 2008 but lost the nomination to former President Barack Obama. She ran again for the 2016 presidency and lost the election to Donald Trump.

Trump in March had sued Clinton, the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee, and several other Democrats alleging “racketeering" a “conspiracy to commit injurious falsehood,” among other claims in a 108-page lawsuit that echoed the long list of grievances he repeatedly aired during his four years in the White House after beating Clinton.

He had sought compensatory and punitive damages, saying he had incurred more than $24m in “defense costs, legal fees, and related expenses."

On September 9, a US judge rejected Trump’s lawsuit saying the lawsuit was not seeking “redress for any legal harm” and that the court was “not the appropriate forum” for the former President’s complaints.

“He is seeking to flaunt a two-hundred-page political manifesto outlining his grievances against those that have opposed him,” Middlebrooks said in his ruling.

Lawsuit: Wisconsin Elections Commission Let Electors Change Votes After Submitting Ballots

Restoring Integrity and Trust in Elections (RITE) filed a lawsuit against the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) last week over its unlawful guidance allowing absentee voters to change their votes after their ballots are cast.

In an Aug. 1, 2022, memorandum sent to all Wisconsin municipal clerks, WEC instructed that after a voter submits an absentee ballot, he can request to “spoil” that ballot and receive a new one if he changes his mind or makes a mistake. Furthermore, in an Aug. 2 memo, WEC allows clerks to “invalidate” a “spoiled ballot” on behalf of the voter.

Such guidance violates Wisconsin statute, which states that a voter possesses the exclusive authority to spoil his absentee ballot before it is submitted, not after. If the voter spoils his absentee ballot before he casts it, he must return the ballot to the clerk (who then destroys it) and request a new one.

With WEC’s new guidance, however, a clerk may invalidate a “spoiled” ballot on behalf of the voter, thereby increasing the potential for fraud or abuse in the absentee voting process.

“RITE is working to protect Wisconsinites from unfair and unequal election procedures,” RITE’s President and CEO Derek Lyons said in a press release. “Once a vote is cast, it is cast. Period. WEC is breaking the law and courting disaster by allowing individuals to retrieve their cast ballots and alter their votes. The discretion WEC gives to local officials undermines the integrity of the ballot box and disrupts the uniform and transparent administration of elections throughout the Badger State.”

RITE is asking the Waukesha County Circuit Court for immediate injunctive relief “prior to the start of absentee ballot voting for the November 8, 2022, election.” The election integrity group is suing on behalf of Wisconsin voter Nancy Kormanik and her right to fair and equal treatment.

During the 2020 election, Wisconsin processed nearly 2 million absentee ballots statewide.

National Guardsman with religious objection given COVID-19 vaccine instead of flu shot

"A very small number of service members were accidentally given a COVID vaccine several months ago," Maine National Guard admits — but victim's lawyer says such a "mistake" is "hard to comprehend."

Aformer National Guardsman who sought a religious exemption to the military COVID-19 vaccine mandate was given the mRNA shot instead of an inoculation for the flu "accidentally," according to the service.

''After refusing the COVID vaccine multiple times and requesting a religious exemption to the mandate, former Maine National Guard Specialist Mathew Bouchard was given the mRNA shot instead of the flu vaccine months before he was to leave the service, he told Just the News on Thursday. ''

Bouchard, who served in the military for six years, said he first filled out a COVID vaccine refusal form in April 2021, then again in November when he was ordered to get the flu shot, despite the fact that he was leaving the military two months later.

When he went to get the flu vaccine, Bouchard filled out the refusal form for the COVID vaccine and then completed a form for the flu shot.

There were two separate lines for vaccinations, one for COVID and the other for the flu, and there were two separate noncommissioned officers (NCOs) administering the vaccines. While Bouchard was in the flu shot line, the NCO in the COVID line said that anyone needing the flu vaccine could go to his line to get it. Bouchard asked the NCO if he should be doing this, and the NCO changed his mind, so Bouchard went back to the flu shot line.

Both Bouchard and his attorney, R. Davis Younts, mentioned that it was unusual for the NCO in the COVID vaccine line to offer the flu shot because there are supposed to be different NCOs to give different vaccines. One NCO isn't supposed to give two different vaccines. There are also not supposed to be two different vaccines at the same table.

Additionally, the vaccines should be labeled differently. Younts noted that while the COVID vaccine is usually in a multi-dose bottle, the flu vaccine is in a single-dose syringe.

Bouchard then got what was supposed to be the flu shot. After receiving the injection, he was told that anyone who wanted a religious exemption from the COVID shot was to meet with the NCO who was giving that vaccine.

After Bouchard and another soldier went to the NCO to explain their reasoning for refusing the COVID vaccine on religious grounds — including its connection to human fetal cells — the NCO told them that there were no human fetal cells in the shot and that he had heard the objections before. However, the NCO never gave them an answer about their religious accommodation request (RAR) or provided them with the RAR packet to fill out.

Bouchard also requested a religious exemption another time but never received the information needed to process it. He said that he knew a lot of people who sought a religious exemption but were never given an answer.

The military is required to make RAR packets available to service members who request them, and the request must be acknowledged and processed, but the military "simply wouldn't process" RARs in some cases, according to Younts.

It's "absolutely a pattern," with junior soldiers, "to coerce, embarrass, single out, and lie to them," Younts said. If the RAR packet isn't submitted, then there's no record of it, and the service members won't get a decision on it, he added.

The day after Bouchard received the vaccine, he was called into a meeting with a sergeant major, chaplain, and others in the chain of command who told him that he was given the COVID vaccine instead of the flu shot. When he asked if this was planned, he was told it wasn't, that this was the first time it happened and the NCO who gave him the wrong shot felt terrible about it.

After the meeting, the sergeant major told Bouchard that there would be an investigation into how the mistake happened. However, Bouchard said he was never contacted about the investigation, nor heard anything else about it.

Younts said that he had never heard of a mistaken vaccine switch in the military before and that it was "hard to comprehend." According to Bouchard and another National Guardsman, other service members also mistakenly received the COVID vaccine instead of the flu shot.

The process for receiving a vaccine in the military includes signing the form for the specific vaccine, verifying which vaccine a service member is there for, identifying themselves by their name, date of birth, and last four digits of their Social Security Number, and then verifying the product.

For a mistake to be made with the vaccines, proper procedure must not have been followed, Younts said, arguing that for it "to happen different times to more than one person is troubling."

Noting that there was "no evidence" the Maine National Guard had investigated or provided an explanation for the incident, Younts said it's "a big deal for someone to receive the wrong medical treatment."

If a service member is injured, Younts explained, there is a line of duty determination documenting the injury, for two reasons: for military readiness when a member is still in the service or, following separation, so Veterans Affairs can handle treatment later on.

For Bouchard, there was no line of duty determination, Younts said. While Bouchard hasn't had any adverse reactions to the COVID vaccine so far and refused the second dose, if he has a complication later, it won't be properly documented in his medical records, Younts explained.

Military commanders are experiencing "tremendous pressure" to get all of their service members vaccinated "no matter what," according to Younts. "The commanders must account for how many of their members are vaccinated and will be judged harshly for those who aren't."

With their jobs at stake, commanders could be driven to make a mistake or be tempted "to cut corners or do things that are suspicious," Younts said.

Bouchard tried to report the vaccine switch as an assault to local police, but they wouldn't take on a federal case. Younts said his client will try to pursue an inspector general complaint.

When reached for comment, the Maine National Guard told Just the News in a statement that since it is "a federal entity," they "are not able to disclose health information for individual service members."

The public affairs officer apologized for the brief statement due to limited immediate access to information "during non-duty hours," but explained that the vaccine switch was a "mistake."

"The Maine National Guard has not, and would never purposefully administer a COVID vaccine in place of an influenza vaccine," according to the statement. "A very small number of service members were accidentally given a COVID vaccine several months ago during a clinic for service members where both shots were being administered. Those involved were informed as soon as the error was made known, the incident was investigated, and protocols were adjusted appropriately to ensure the same mistake was not made again.

"The Maine National Guard fully supports service members submitting for religious accommodation exceptions for any vaccination and has forwarded dozens of COVID religious accommodation requests to the next higher level for review. Plans for including accommodations have been a part of all DoD level and state level vaccination efforts."

Regarding the statement on the investigation, Younts said that Bouchard "was a victim of the mistake" and was "[n]ever interviewed and never informed of the investigation or the outcome of the investigation."

Emails: Biden-Backing Billionaire Michael Bloomberg Tried To Meddle In Pennsylvania’s Election

At least Zuckerberg’s millions were laundered through nonprofits with grant procedures in place. Emails suggest Bloomberg just used liaisons to coordinate the funding.

A prominent professor of election law served as an intermediary between Democrat billionaire Michael Bloomberg and the Philadelphia election board, attempting to broker as much as $3 million in private funding for the Democrat stronghold mere months before the 2020 election, emails obtained by investigative journalist Todd Shepherd reveal.

Reporting for Broad + Liberty on Sunday, Shepherd unveiled a series of email communications between Stanford Law Professor Nathaniel Persily and Nick Custodio, the latter of whom was the deputy commissioner in the office of Philadelphia City Commissioner Lisa Deeley. At the time Deely was the chair of the three-member board that sets and enforces policies to administer voter registration and conduct elections.

After noting that the board had just finalized its “CTCL grant” — a reference to the Mark Zuckerberg-funded Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL) election grants — Custodio asked Persily whether he needed to “get” Persily the “Bloomberg thing tonight or can it wait until tomorrow afternoon?” Custodio dispatched that email to the Stanford professor late on Friday, Aug. 7, 2020. After Persily responded that “Monday should be fine,” the Philadelphia election-board deputy followed up, asking, “Who should the Memo be addressed? Bloomberg or someone else?”

Persily’s reply indicates he worked directly with Bloomberg to push the funding request, with the Stanford professor telling Custodio to “just send me some bullet points on how much you would want from him and what it would be spent on.” Custodio replied with a $3,074,900 ask, with a little more than $2 million shown allocated to “staffing,” about $483,000 to mail-in voting consumables and the cost of initial mailing, and $590,000 for communications.

Whether Bloomberg ever provided the requested funding is unknown from the email threads, with Shepherd reporting that his questions to Persily, Custodio, Bloomberg, and Philadelphia went unanswered. But the mere effort by the Philadelphia board to obtain private funding from Bloomberg proves scandalous and raises questions concerning Bloomberg’s other efforts to commandeer the operations of Democrat districts.

Bloomberg’s Track Record

Prior to backing Biden, Bloomberg ran in the Democrat presidential primary. And even before dropping out of the race, Bloomberg vowed that “his massive campaign apparatus and an army of some 500 staffers will march on through the general election in November even if he loses the Democratic nomination.”

“Mike Bloomberg is either going to be the nominee or the most important person supporting the Democratic nominee for president,” Bloomberg’s campaign manager Kevin Sheekey told NBC News, stressing Bloomberg “is dedicated to getting Trump out of the White House.”

The Bloomberg campaign then previewed how the former New York City mayor intended to achieve his goal of keeping Trump out of the White House, noting that “Bloomberg’s extensive data and analytics capabilities” through his company Hawkfish could offer the eventual Democrat candidate an edge. While Bloomberg could not coordinate the digital operations of Hawkfish with the Democrat nominee’s campaign, according to Bloomberg officials, the former mayor would establish an independent funding vehicle to pay for the Hawkfish analytics and for staffers to support the eventual Democrat candidate.

“In states where the Democratic nominee will be competing in the fall, the Bloomberg staffers could play a critical role driving up Democratic turnout, in line with the former mayor’s pledge to spend more than $15 million this election on get-out-the-vote efforts,” NBC News reported in early 2020. “They could also organize their own events, ad campaigns and other organizing tactics in support of the nominee…”

But the emails exchanged between Professor Persily and the deputy commissioner of the Philadelphia board of elections indicate Bloomberg’s efforts to “get Trump out of the White House” extended beyond privately funding get-out-the-vote efforts and ad campaigns. The emails suggest the Democrat billionaire sought to infiltrate at least one government election office — the most populous one in the swing state of Pennsylvania and a stronghold for Democrats.

‘Arbitrary and Disparate Treatment’

In 2020, of the more than 1,700 voting divisions in Philadelphia, only about 30 went for Trump, and 604,175 Philadelphians voted for Biden compared to 132,870 for Trump, resulting in a 471,305 net advantage for the Democrat candidate in that one city. Biden eventually won Pennsylvania’s 20 electors by just slightly more than 80,000 votes.

Private funding of get-out-the-vote efforts is one thing, but when individuals coordinate with government actors, that triggers constitutional concerns under the Equal Protection Clause of the U.S. Constitution. In Bush v. Gore, the United States Supreme Court made clear that “the right to vote is protected in more than the initial allocation of the franchise.” The Equal Protection clause requires both that the right to vote be granted on equal terms, but also that the state “not, by later arbitrary and disparate treatment, value one person’s vote over that of any.”

Shepherd’s investigative journalism previously revealed extensive evidence that such “arbitrary and disparate treatment” occurred in 2020 in Pennsylvania when “beginning in July 2020, consultants working for leftist organizations coordinated with local election officials and Democrat Gov. Tom Wolf’s office to lobby five blue counties to apply for private grants.”

As I previously reported following Shepherd’s testimony before Pennsylvania’s State Government Affairs Committee, “While the grants originated with the nominally non-partisan Center for Tech and Civic Life — an organization that Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan’s private foundation later infused with some $350 million in cash — emails reveal that a main consultant involved in targeting select counties, Marc Solomon, worked for the Center for Secure and Modern Elections, or the CSME.”

In his testimony before the Pennsylvania General Assembly, Shepherd stressed that what’s “important to know about CSME is that it is not a 501(c)3, but rather it is a fiscally sponsored project of the New Venture Fund,” which is “managed by Arabella Advisors.”

Shepherd added that “the ‘parent’ group ofArabella, New Venture Fund”is “part of what the Atlantic Magazine identified as ‘The Massive Progressive Dark-Money Group You’ve Never Heard Of.’” The New York Times would in fact spotlight the New Venture Fund in its article “Democrats Decried Dark Money,” Shepherd told the Pennsylvania lawmakers earlier this year.

The emails uncovered by Shepherd further expose the incestuous relationship between the leftist CSME project and the nominally nonpartisan CTCL. “In Persily’s mind, the two were closely related enough that he conflated them as the same project,” Shepherd wrote, highlighting the email exchange in which Philadelphia’s Deputy Commissioner Custodio noted they had “just finalized our CTCL grant,” prompting Persily to respond, “I understand that the requests for CSME will be fully granted.” But “when Custodio informed Persily that Philadelphia hadn’t been in contact with the CSME, Persily said, ‘Yes — CTCL is working with CSME.’”

EU restarts high-level political dialogue with “Israel”

Notwithstanding Persily’s apparent role as an intermediary for Bloomberg and his knowledge of the CSME’s collaboration with CTCL, there is no indication that the Stanford professor’s involvement stemmed from a partisan desire to benefit Biden and oust Trump. Instead, Persily, who co-led the Stanford-MIT Health Elections Project, viewed his work and the efforts of other “policy makers,” “the courts,” and “civil society groups” as making “an unprecedented effort to help local election administrators deal with the pandemic.”

In fact, in his post-election write-up, “The

Miracle and Tragedy of the 2020 U.S. Election,” Persily even spotlighted the CSME and other left-leaning or leftist organizations, such as the Center for Inclusive Democracy, the National Vote at Home Institute, the Center for Election Innovation and Research, and Democracy Works, framing their donations as “philanthropic contributions” to provide election officials with “resources and technical assistance in support of mail voting and safe polling places.”

There was nothing altruistic about these gifts, however, with evidence establishing that leftist groups financed “the infiltration of election offices at the city and county level by left-wing activists, and using those offices as a platform to implement preferred administrative practices, voting methods, and data-sharing agreements, as well as to launch intensive outreach campaigns in areas heavy with Democratic voters.”

And with analyses by election data experts confirming the highly partisan basis on which that money was distributed, the conservative think tank Center for Renewing America is pushing the IRS to investigate the Center for Tech and Civic Life, the Center for Election Innovation and Research, and the National Vote at Home Institute, alleging in a recently filed complaint that those nonprofits “were engaged in a ‘partisan electioneering’ scheme led by Barack Obama’s former campaign manager David Plouffe by pumping nearly half a billion dollars into the 2020 election to swing the contest to Biden.”

The Extent of Bloomberg’s Meddling

While these organizations’ partisan targeting of election offices played a more significant role in interfering in the 2020 election, in some ways, the revelation of Bloomberg’s attempt to also fund specific election activities in heavily Democratic areas of the swing state of Pennsylvania represents a more serious affront to the integrity of the 2020 vote. At least with the millions donated by the Facebook founder, the funds were laundered through nonprofits with grant procedures in place, creating plausible deniability for government employees interested in obtaining additional cash to run their election efforts.

Conversely, with Bloomberg, the emails suggest there was no formal grant process and that he used liaisons to coordinate the funding. Further, with the “extensive data and analytic capabilities” of Bloomberg’s Hawkfish enterprise, Bloomberg could easily target the specific locales in swing states to accomplish his goal of evicting Trump from the White House. And given Bloomberg’s open support for Biden, his past candidacy for the Democratic presidential nominee, and his candid public vow to keep Trump out of the White House, election officers knew precisely who held the purse strings and why.

Whether Americans will ever learn the extent of Bloomberg’s involvement in the last presidential election, however, is another question. Shepherd hopes so, telling The Federalist that his wish “is that reporters in other jurisdictions will be able to use this bit of information to do new digging to see how widespread these offers from the mayor were — given that he wouldn’t answer that question to me directly.”

While Bloomberg and his collaborators may successfully avoid questioning from journalists, right-to-know and Freedom of Information Act requests to election officials provide a backdoor to that information. And swing states controlled by Republicans also hold the power to get some answers. So, stay tuned.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that it is impossible to negotiate a peace treaty between Russia and Japan under the current circumstances.

Switzerland opposes transfer of frozen Russian funds to Ukraine

On Monday, a spokesman for the Swiss Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research, Fabian Maienfisch, told reporters that Switzerland disapproved of Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky's proposal to transfer frozen Russian assets to Ukraine.

"For the Swiss government, the confiscation of assets only on the basis of belonging to a state or being included in the sanctions list and using them to rebuild Ukraine is currently not an option of showing support for Ukraine," the spokesperson told RIA Novosti.

Zelensky's proposal to block Russian assets in Swiss banks and transfer them to Ukraine was delivered last week.

On June 30, Russian Security Council Deputy Secretary Alexander Venediktov deemed the freeze of Russian assets to be one of the "greatest thefts in history."

The Ukrainian President has several times asked his allies to further support him financially and militarily throughout the war.

So far, the US has been its principal provider with the transfers of over $16.9 billion in "security assistance", which includes a package worth $600 million in early September. Additionally, the White House asked Congress for $13.7 billion for "security and economic assistance" for Ukraine.

The EU has likewise provided some support despite its current struggles with the energy crisis.

In the first half of the year, the EU supported Ukraine with €1.2 billion in loans and billions in arms and weapons deliveries, and in July it agreed to provide an assistance package worth €9 billion of which €1 billion were dispatched last summer and another €5 billion are already approved but not yet delivered.

The remaining €3 billion are still being discussed on whether to be sent as grants or loans, but the US has recently been pressuring the EU to do more to assist Ukraine in the war.

Yesterday, Bloomberg reported that the US was eyeing plans to make monthly transfers in aid to Ukraine in efforts to continue the war against Russia and it called on its EU counterparts to assist in the like.

On the military side, both the EU and the US failed to meet Ukraine's needs, as per Zelensky. Since the start of the war, the Ukrainian President has been insisting on his allies to send them the most up-to-date tanks which are believed would strengthen its counter-offensive against Russia.

Spain showed good cooperation in the beginning but was later pressured by Germany not to send the desired weapons.

On September 30, White House official Jake Sullivan said the US did not rule out that NATO-standard tanks, including Abrams and Leopard tanks, will be supplied to Ukraine in light of its ongoing war.

An article published by Military Watch Magazine on September 30 detailed some reasons why such a move would ever be possible - one of the reasons being that NATO would never want to compromise its technology through capture.

Togo's government on Monday confirmed that ousted Burkina Faso leader Lieutenant-Colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba had fled to Togo after a military coup.

West African bloc ECOWAS plans to send envoys to Burkina Faso after troops toppled Damiba in the country's second coup in nine months.

Togo's Minister of Communication and government spokesperson, Akodah Ayewouadan, said Damiba was in Togo as part of the country's commitment to "peace in the sub-region."

"Togo, like ECOWAS, welcomes the fact that the spirit of peace has prevailed," the official said in a response to questions from AFP.

"The reception of… Damiba is part of this spirit."

The streets of Burkina Faso's capital Ouagadougou were calm on Monday after a two-day clash between military rivals.

Damiba on Sunday had agreed to step down, religious and community mediators said after new self-declared leader Captain Ibrahim Traore stated that he had been forced out.

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) said it welcomed "a peaceful settlement of their differences" and announced it would dispatch a delegation to Ouagadougou.

Order was being restored in Burkina Faso: Traore

On Saturday, Traore said that order was being restored in the country following violent protests against the French embassy in Ouagadougou and days of clashes.

Security forces fired harmful tear gas at protesters outside the embassy, according to an AFP journalist.

Traore's side urged people to refrain from attacking the French embassy that was targeted after an officer involved in the coup revealed that France had sheltered Damiba at a French military base in the country and that he was planning a counteroffensive.

The French Foreign Ministry claimed the base had not hosted Damiba after his ouster on Friday. Damiba, whose whereabouts were unknown at the time, also denied he was at the French base, claiming that the reports were a deliberate manipulation of public opinion.

"We want to inform the population that the situation is under control and order is being restored," an army officer announced in a statement broadcast on national television.

"We invite you to continue with your activities and refrain from all acts of violence and vandalism… notably that against the French embassy and the French military base," the officer said.

On Friday, Traore announced that he led a coup against Damiba, dissolved the government, and suspended Burkina Faso's constitution and transitional charter.

Traore said a group of officers took the decision to topple Damiba over his inability to deal with the growing terror attacks in the country. The borders are currently closed indefinitely and all political and civil society activities have been suspended, he added.

This is the country's second military coup in eight months, with Damiba only assuming power in January after ousting former President Rock Kabore via a coup of his own in light of growing frustration over the state of the country's security.

What You Need To Know About This Lawsuit Against Biden’s $1 Trillion Student Loan Giveaway

Biden’s loan bailout looks even morelike a rushed attempt to buy off student voters prior to November’s midterm elections. Mere weeks after President Biden announced his intent to provide taxpayer giveaways of up to $20,000 on federal student loans, the Pacific Legal Foundation filed the first of what could be many lawsuits over the policy.

Herein is a primer on the legal theories behind the lawsuit, outlined in greater detail in the complaint itself. Despite Biden administration backtracking and alleged changes to the program, the lawsuit is still moving forward—and so likely will others.

Financial Harm Gives Plaintiff Standing

The case’s plaintiff, Frank Garrison, actually works for the Pacific Legal Foundation, which plays a role in his complaint. As an employee for a 501(c)3 nonprofit, Garrison participates in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. Under that program, if he continues to work in the nonprofit sector, taxpayers will pay off his entire loan balance in approximately four years.

Under Indiana law, Garrison will owe no state income taxes on the balance of his loan when it gets forgiven in four years’ time. But Indiana is one of at least six states where individuals receiving benefits under the Biden program will face a state income tax bill.

(Democrats passed a provision exempting “forgiveness” under a potential Biden student loan amnesty from federal income taxes in last year’s “Covid relief” spending spree.) Garrison thus faces a no-win situation: Making taxpayers pay off $20,000 of his loan balance now won’t make a difference to him later. He will have his entire balance put on taxpayers’ balance sheets in a few years’ time, no matter its size.

But right now, it will stick him with a state income tax bill of roughly $1,000—a bill he wouldn’t have had to pay if taxpayers paid that $20,000 later due to his participation in the public service payoff, rather than the new Biden bailout. Because courts only adjudicate particular disputes, taxpayers who will pay the bill for Biden’s amnesty lack standing to object to the administration’s actions in court. But Garrison can claim a specific financial injury due to the Biden amnesty, meaning he can more credibly claim standing to file suit.

Ad Hoc Policymaking

The complaint also notes that, because Garrison participates in an income-based repayment program, he will have his loans automatically transferred to taxpayers—at least, according to the Biden administration’s original announcement. As such, he felt had no other recourse but to go to court and ask a judge to intervene, to prevent him from suffering financial harm.

A trial began Monday for the leaders of the anti-government militia Oath Keepers for their involvement in the January 6 riots, with prosecutors alleging the group intentionally “concocted a plan for an armed rebellion to shatter a bedrock of American democracy” in one of the highest-profile Capitol insurrection cases to date.

KEY FACTS

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Nestler said during an opening statement Monday that the goal of the defendants—including Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes and four associates—was to “stop by whatever means necessary the lawful transfer of presidential power,” including by “taking up arms” against the government.

The group allegedly plotted to prevent Congress from certifying President Joe Biden’s win “in plain sight,” while also using encrypted messaging apps like Signal to plot in private, Nestler argued.

Rhodes—who prosecutors say along with other Oath Keepers members stockpiled weapons in a hotel near the capitol in case they needed to bring them to the rally—told his followers in text messages there would be “torches and pitchforks” if Congress doesn’t “do the right thing,” prosecutors alleged Monday.

Rhodes, a Yale law graduate who founded the Oath Keepers in 2019, and co-defendants Kelly Meggs, Thomas Caldwell, Jessica Watkins and Kenneth Harrelson, face several charges for their role in the riot, including seditious conspiracy, the most severe charge handed to a January 6 defendant, and could face up to 20 years in prison for the sedition charges.

SURPRISING FACT

The last time the Justice Department sought to prosecute someone on charges of seditious conspiracy was nearly 30 years ago, when an Egyptian cleric and nine followers were convicted in 1995 for plotting to bomb New York City landmarks. The seditious conspiracy charge was passed after the Civil War to arrest Southerners continuing to battle the government, according to the Associated Press.

The Justice Department charged Rhodes and 10 others with seditious conspiracy in January. Prosecutors have alleged dozens of Oath Keepers members spent weeks gathering weapons and training armed teams around the country to stop Biden’s certification as president. Several members are also accused of wearing helmets and battle gear and breaching the Capitol building on January 6. Oath Keepers warned Biden taking office could lead to violence and cause a “bloody and desperate fight” Rhodes said, according to prosecutors. The militia group’s leaders, meanwhile, have argued they never planned to participate in any attack and were at the Capitol to defend themselves against violence from antifa activists, according to the AP. The fact that the administration announced this “forgiveness” via a Q&A on a website speaks to the slapdash nature of this entire process. It looks like a rushed attempt to buy off student voters prior to November’s midterm elections. Changing the details of the policy (again) by updating the website illustrates the way in which failing to conduct a deliberative, transparent rulemaking process not only violates the law but harms members of the public denied the opportunity to participate.

Could Save Taxpayers a Bundle

Should Garrison and Pacific Legal succeed in either of their arguments in the complaint—in addition to violations of the Administrative Procedure Act, the lawsuit also alleges that Congress never delegated such broad “forgiveness” authority to the executive—they will save taxpayers a bundle. A report issued by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) just prior to the lawsuit’s filing provided the first official estimate of how much the Biden amnesty will cost taxpayers.

CBO believes that suspending student loan payments (again) through Dec. 31 will cost $20 billion and that the larger bailout will cost an additional $400 billion. The budget agency noted that the federal government will see lower repayments for at least 30 years, through 2052, as a result of this payoff—meaning that our children and grandchildren will pay the costs.

However, the budget agency did not calculate the impact of additional modifications the Biden administration proposed to the income-based repayment program going forward.

Outside budget analysts have estimated that those changes—disregarding more expenses from the income-based repayment formula, and lowering the percentage of income people have to repay—“could reasonably exceed $450 billion” over a decade, putting the total tab for this amnesty in the neighborhood of $1 trillion.

Taxpayers of all stripes thus have good reason to hope the lawsuit filed by Garrison and Pacific Legal succeeds. Not only would it restore the rule of law by blocking an outrageous abuse of executive authority, but it would also prevent the federal government from falling further over the fiscal cliff.

Pfizer knew that men can transmit the vaccine ingredients to their partners via sexual intercourse. Pfizer’s clinical trial protocol shows the company suspected that negative fertility impacts may occur in men, from its vaccine. Male trial participants had to follow specific “Male Participant Reproductive Inclusion Criteria.” These were spelt out in all fourteen versions of Pfizer’s protocol:

Male participants are eligible to participate if they agree to the following requirements during the intervention period and for at least 28 days after the last dose of study intervention, which corresponds to the time needed to eliminate reproductive safety risk of the study intervention(s).

Pfizer’s trial protocol required that men must:

Refrain from donating sperm.

Abstain from heterosexual intercourse with a female of childbearing potential as their preferred and usual lifestyle. They must be abstinent from heterosexual intercourse with a female of childbearing age on a long-term and persistent basis and they must agree to remain abstinent. Or,

must agree to use a male condom when engaging in any activity that allows for passage of ejaculate to another person. In addition to male condom use, “a highly effective method of contraception may be considered in WOCBP (women of childbearing age) partners of male participants.”

In other words, the men in the Pfizer trial agreed to abstain from heterosexual intercourse with childbearing-age women or else, if they did have intercourse with women who could bear children, they agreed to use a condom and were advised to add an effective additional method of contraception. The Pfizer study constructs regarding total abstinence from sex with women who could bear children, or else the use of both condoms and other contraception, suggest that Pfizer suspected that vaccinated men’s ejaculate could affect both women and unborn children conceived during the trial or after.

They’re Coming for Your Food: New South Wales Government Expedites mRNA Vaccine for Foot-and-Mouth and Lumpy Skin Disease in Livestock

The government of New South Wales said on Wednesday that it had requested the American biotechnology company Tiba Biotech to speed up the development of the first mRNA vaccines for foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) and lumpy skin disease.

“The NSW Nationals in Government are taking the threat of FMD and Lumpy Skin Disease extremely seriously, and this milestone is another step forward in preparing for a potential outbreak,” said Paul Toole, Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW.

NSW hopes to produce a world-first synthetic vaccine for foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) and lumpy skin disease by August 2023 with a $6 million government grant.

“I have now written to vaccine manufacturers to take up my challenge to develop both vaccines ready for use and manufacture in NSW by August 1 next year,” Toole said.

“COVID-19 demonstrated to us that all possible avenues in developing vaccines must be explored and we will leave no stone unturned.”

The partnership with Tiba Biotech, according to Agriculture Minister Dugald Saunders, provides New South Wales with an alternative strategy for creating mRNA vaccines against foot-and-mouth disease and lumpy skin disease.

“It is critical that we develop mRNA vaccines for FMD and Lumpy Skin as quickly as possible to protect our State’s livestock sector,” Mr. Saunders said.

“mRNA vaccines are cheaper and quicker to produce, highly effective and very safe,” he claimed.

“Because they are fully synthetic and do not require any animal or microbial products, they do not carry with them the same risks as traditionally derived vaccines.”

Tiba co-founder Peter McGrath said, “Our next generation RNA technology is able to safely and efficiently deliver vaccines for both human and animal health needs and has demonstrated more practical storage requirements than existing RNA technologies.”

The timing raises a lot of questions for some people as the Australia-UK free trade agreement (FTA) will go into effect this year, allowing tariff-free entry to increasing Australian meat volumes into the UK over the next decade.

“Ideally, a single plant would produce enough mRNA to vaccinate a single person,” Giraldo said. “We are testing this approach with spinach and lettuce and have long-term goals of people growing it in their own gardens.”

Supreme Court To Hear Case Challenging Tech Industry's Section 230 Immunity

The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to weigh in on whether tech companies should be allowed immunity over 'problematic' content posted by users.

The case at hand alleges that YouTube aided and abetted the killing of an American in coordinated 2015 terrorist attacks carried out by ISIS, which killed 130 people. The family of one of the victims, Nohemi Gonzalez, has argued that YouTube's active role in recommending videos overcomes the liability shield for internet companies enacted by Congress in 1996 as part of the Communications Decency Act.

Section 230 of that act absolves online platforms of liability from content posted by users - and has come under fire in recent years, with the right claiming that it allows companies to inappropriately censor conservative views, and the left saying it allows social media companies to spread dangerous right-wing wrongthink, CBS News reports.

Gonzalez was a 23-year-old college student studying in France when she was killed while dining at a restaurant during the wave of attacks, which also targeted the Bataclan concert hall.

Her family is seeking to sue Google-owned YouTube for allegedly allowing ISIS to spread its message. The lawsuit targets YouTube’s use of algorithms to suggest videos for users based on content they have previously viewed. YouTube’s active role goes beyond the kind of conduct that Congress intended to protect with Section 230, the family’s lawyers allege. They say in court papers that the company “knowingly permitted ISIS to post on YouTube hundreds of radicalizing videos inciting violence” that helped the group recruit supporters, some of whom then conducted terrorist attacks. -NBC News

Lawyers for Gonzalez's family say YouTube's video recommendations were key to ISIS's ability to spread their message.

Goldman Steps Up To Defend Credit Suisse: "Weakness Is Unwarranted"

There was a moment of levity this morning for those who opened Goldman's research portal, Marquee, when the bank's clients were greeted with an "encore" research report posting of the bank's August 2 downgrade of Credit Suisse to Sell…

.. a recommendation that has yield a return of over 25% in the past two months.

But lest Goldman be seen as actively seeking to push one of its biggest iBanking competitors into oblivion, the bank also sent out the following comment from its sales and trading desk on recent market color/conversations discussing Topic #1 in capital markets today: Credit Suisse. Here is an excerpt from the note sent out by Goldman's Sarah Cha discussing the comments from Goldman London-based trade Jonathan Weetman, who weakness in the stock unwarranted and explains why. To wit:

The unprecedented macro moves over the past couple of weeks have driven a lot of discussion around potential further cracks/weak spots from a market structure stand-point. Things continue to get hairier. For all the talk about relative outperformance in credit heading into last week, the UK GBP/Gilt dislocation seems to have changed the game there. From our credit colleagues over the weekend: “The 21bp move wider between 9/22-9/29 was the biggest move in the IG index outside of March 2020 since 2011 and a 99th percentile 5 day move since 2000. The only larger moves over a similar period of time came in some of the most extreme periods of stress ever (March 2020 (Covid), 2H ’08- Q1 ’09 (GFC), May 2010 & August 2011 (Euro Sov crisis with a little assist from US downgrade), September 2001 (9/11) and October 2002 (tech bubble)).

CS off 7% following online/social media speculation and multiple press articles over the weekend around what appears to be a risk-off mkt fueled negative feedback loop around capital position. Weetman calls the weakness in the stock unwarranted and walks through some of the considerations in his note this morning which includes:

While not a full-blown defense, and certainly Goldman has yet to upgrade the stock from Sell to Neutral, let alone Buy, Goldman does note that the "weakness is unwarranted" - something it certainly doesn't have to do if it plans on buying up the bank's assets out of bankruptcy auction and can simply keep its mouth shut - and today's bounce from a record low may be as bad as it gets for the troubled Swiss lender… because if it isn't, then the government and ECB will have to step in since none of the management team's attempts to stabilize the selloff have worked.

Letter Reveals UK Blackout Fear As NatGas Supplies Could Be Cut In "Emergency"

A letter from Ofgem, the UK's power regulator, warned about the "significant risk" of a natural gas shortage this winter because of disruptions to energy markets following the war in Ukraine and undersupply of Europe.

Bloomberg Opinion's Javier Blas tweeted a photograph of the letter focusing on technical changes in the UK electricity market. Blas highlighted the critical parts of the letter in the "background" section that detailed a dark and cold winter for the UK could be just ahead.

Here's what Blas outlined:

"Due to the war in Ukraine and gas shortages in Europe, there is a significant risk that gas shortages could occur during the winter 2022/23 in Great Britain ('GB'). As a result, there is a possibility that GB could enter into a Gas Supply Emergency."

… "In the event that GB reaches Stage 2 in this procedure, Firm Load Shedding of gas would be applied to the largest gas users connected to the gas system. This will likely be large gas-fired power stations which produce electricity to the National Electricity Transmission System ('NETS')."

Blas warned: "Winter is coming awfully quickly, and we are betting the house on a warmer-than-average season."

Blas is correct. The average UK temperatures are around 12 Celsius (53.6 Fahrenheit). The peak in mean temps occurred in early August.

Ukrainian counter attacks on Kherson have failed – top official

The situation in the region is ‘under control,’ according to deputy head Kirill Stremousov

Attempts by Ukrainian forces to break through Russia’s defenses in Kherson Region have been thwarted, the deputy head of the local administration, Kirill Stremousov, has said.

In a Telegram post on Monday, Stremousov stated that “everything is under control in the Nikolayev direction,” despite Kiev’s efforts to retake the region. He noted that Ukraine’s forces had advanced southward along the Dnieper River to the village of Dudchany before “taking a beating” from Russian Aerospace Forces.

The official admitted that the Ukrainians were able to advance a little bit, but noted that the region’s defense systems were working and that “at the moment, the situation is completely under control.”

Stremousov concluded by urging people not to give into panic because of what they hear and read on social media. “This is not Kharkov, this is not [Krasny] Liman, we are holding the fence,” he proclaimed.

Russia’s Defense Ministry has also confirmed repelling the attack, stating that over 400 Ukrainian servicemen, 43 tanks and 89 units of special military equipment were eliminated in the Nikolayev-Krivoy Rog area.

The announcement comes as Kiev’s forces have mounted large-scale offensives along several points of engagement with Russia. On Saturday, Russian troops were forced to withdraw from their defensive positions in the town of Krasny Liman in the Donetsk People’s Republic after they were nearly encircled by Ukrainian forces, which had brought in reserves and reached a “considerable superiority in men and material.”

It has been noted, however, that the Ukrainian side has been suffering significant casualties in the offensive, having reportedly lost over 500 soldiers (200 dead, 320 injured), as well as ten tanks and 25 infantry fighting vehicles during the attack on Krasny Liman, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

Kiev’s offensive comes after President Vladimir Putin signed treaties on the accession of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as the Russian-held regions of Kherson and Zaporozhye, into the Russian Federation on Friday. The move came after the four territories overwhelmingly voted in favor of joining Russia in referendums held between September 23 and 27.

Ukraine and Western nations have refused to recognize the results of the referendums and have vowed to never acknowledge the regions as being part of Russia.

The CDC promised in 2021 in a set of operating procedures to perform a type of analysis called Proportional Reporting Ratio (PRR) on reports of adverse reactions following COVID-19 vaccination. The reports are submitted to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), which officials have described as “the nation’s early warning system” for post-vaccination adverse events. The CDC also said in an updated set of operating procedures in 2022 that it would perform the analysis.

But the CDC has made false statements three times this year on PRRs, initially saying such analysis was outside the agency’s purview, then saying the analysis was performed starting in 2021, then saying the analysis did not begin until 2022. The newly obtained emails show that an official falsely said the CDC does not perform PRR analysis to an editor in 2021.

John Gregory, a health editor at NewsGuard, wrote to the CDC on Oct. 19, 2021, asking for a comment regarding a claim that the CDC’s PRR analysis cannot accurately identify when a vaccine causes adverse events, one of the emails shows. Martha Sharan, a CDC spokeswoman, sent the query to Dr. John Su, who leads the CDC’s VAERS team, and Dr. Tom Shimabukuro, who also works on vaccine safety.

Their responses were redacted apart from a comment on NewsGuard. Sharan then wrote that she’d spoken to Gregory.

“I spoke to the reporter and explained that CDC does not do PPR analysis. The reporter is not going to pursue this any further!” she wrote, adding later that she meant PRR.

That contradicts the operating procedures, which state that the CDC “will perform Proportional Reporting Ratio (PRR) analysis” on VAERS reports.

“We let our published content speak for itself,” Gregory told The Epoch Times in an email when notified that the CDC does actually perform PRRs.

‘That’s a New One to Me’

In June 2022, the CDC falsely told Children’s Health Defense, a nonprofit, that PRR analysis is “outside of th[e] agency’s purview.” An Associated Press reporter, Angelo Fichera, flagged a Children’s Health Defense article on the statement to the CDC, asking whether the CDC had ever performed the analysis, according to the newly obtained emails.

Kristen Nordlund, another CDC spokeswoman, forwarded the query to Sharan. “Martha—thoughts on this one?” she asked.

“That’s a new one on me—proportional reporting ratios’—I need to send this one to John,” Sharan responded.

Sharan later sent a statement about PRRs to The Associated Press and the Washington Examiner.

The Associated Press and NewsGuard never published stories on the topic. After The Epoch Times reported on contradictory statements from the CDC, the Examiner published an article about the developments.

Fichera, Sharan, and Su did not respond to requests for comment for this article.

The emails were obtained by The Epoch Times and an independent researcher through FOIA requests.

President Putin is set to demonstrate his willingness to use weapons of mass destruction with a nuclear test on Ukraine’s borders, defence sources have warned.
